Quelle belle époque pour être fan de boxe féminine, et de boxe tout court! Ce 15 octobre, après plusieurs péripéties, un report de dernière minute et une promo assez mouvementée, on a finalement eu droit à la fameuse revanche tant attendue entre Savannah Marshall The Silent Assassin et Claressa Shields. Marshall est la seule à avoir déjà battue Shields. C'était chez les amateurs, il y a dix ans, lorsque Shields avait 17 ans et Marshall 21. Depuis, la soif de vengeance était insatiable pour Shields, qui voulait prouver à tous que cette défaite était un accident de parcours, tandis que Marshall, elle, voulait montrer qu'elle était celle qui savait vraiment comment battre la double championne olympique et double championne incontestée. On décortique cette revanche, remportée par Shields par décision unanime, qui vient clore ce chapitre, trilogie à venir ou pas. En sous-carte, on avait droit à un duel entre Alycia Baumgardner, l'underdog, et Mikaela Mayer, largement favorite. This week, we chat with Australian boxer and 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medallist, Skye Nicolson.   Skye has just booked her ticket for the Tokyo Olympics and her story is an incredible one. Her two brothers, Jamie and Gavin, were killed in a car accident before she was born. Jamie was one of the best amateur boxers that Australia had even produced and competed at both the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games. In today's interview, you'll hear from Skye about how Jamie and Gavin are her two angels who are with her in every fight. Getting into boxing was never about carrying on Jamie's legacy but she was drawn to the sport and her parents quickly realised she was a natural. When you compare video footage of Jamie and Skye, it's incredible to see how similar their styles are. It's clear that Skye is also incredible passionate about promoting both women's sport and women's boxing in Australia.
