For this episode, Yvonne is joined by Robyn Taaffe to talk about her specialty, inner child work, which fascinates Yvonne but is also something she has reservations about doing. Robyn explains what inner child work entails, why it is so beneficial, how doing it helps you to manifest and much more. If you are struggling with a particular manifestation, listen in and use the inner child exercise Robyn shares to break through your roadblocks. She also explains how to recognise and tackle the fears that are holding you back, turn bad days into beneficial experiences and use your intuition more. KEY TAKEAWAYS Inner child work is for everyone. You don´t have to have had a traumatic childhood to be able to benefit from it. Your ability to manifest is closely related to how you see things, which is highly impacted by your childhood experiences and upbringing. Our childhood experiences and upbringing create the operating system that controls us as adults, our subconscious mind. Many of the fears that lead to self-sabotage were formed as a child. Which is a big part of why inner child work is an effective way to tackle those fears. If you are doing things for the sake of validation, often that motivation is coming from a place of hurt. Use your intuition more. Inner child work enables you to tell the difference between fear and intuition, which helps you to determine whether to press forward or ease off a little. Take the joy now. Appreciate what you already have. If you tell yourself a negative story, that is all your mind sees, it´s all it has to work with, so you do not recognise the opportunities to avoid that negative story coming true. You are never completely powerless. Regardless of the issue you have there is always things you can do to improve the situation, focus on doing those things. Even if you cannot completely solve a problem you can significantly reduce the negative impact it has on your life. Some days you will feel bad, let yourself cry or get angry, but make sure you don´t allow yourself to wallow in it. BEST MOMENTS “I'm one of those people that is really reluctant to do inner child work.” “As children, we form beliefs about ourselves based on what we experience, we are like a sponge.” “Inner child is a really nice tool to be able to start building awareness of the fears as they come up, the self-doubt, the beliefs .” “It's actually not what other people think of me that I'm so concerned about. It's what I think of myself.” “Less chasing, more attracting.” “One of the most important things when you're creating something in your life is being able to hear your intuition .” “It´s so healing.” “I realised that I might not have full control over this, but there's a lot of things within my power.” “You always have a say in what happens in the future.” “You're allowed to get annoyed or cry, you're allowed to feel it.” EPISODE RESOURCES https://www.instagram.com/robyn.taaffe https://linktr.ee/theinnerspace.ie VALUABLE RESOURCES website: pausepenny.com Instagram: @yvonnetchrakian_manifest @pause.penny LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/yvonne-tchrakian-64257619/ HOST BIO Yvonne started her career as a corporate lawyer for one of Ireland's top law firms. Mercedas Taaffe-Cooper is an Irish boxing pioneer. A competitor in the 90s when female fighters were thin on the ground, she sparred with Deirdre Gogarty and boxed alongside Jane Couch. She was also one of the first female coaches in the country, guiding the Reynolds brothers, Stephen and Alan, who won a combined 12 senior titles at the National Stadium. Here, Merc talks about the struggle for recognition in the early years, how she and others helped knock down the door to allow Katie Taylor to fight Alanna Murphy in a groundbreaking 2001 contest, being part of the coaching ticket for the men's World Championships that same year and much more. After a move to Australia, where she continued in an education which was encouraged by the great Nicholas Cruz, she developed further as a psychologist and exercise scientist, combining her practical skills with her boxing background to ultimately develop CounterPunch. Per her own notes it's an ‘effective, fun-filled, evidence based program to guide young people toward achieving their undoubted potential'. CounterPunch has become a success story Down Under, recently celebrating its first national champion, and now Merc is looking to spread its influence and bring it home to Ireland. Here, she tells The Rocky Road all about her journey which started kickboxing and is now changing lives by educating kids through the medium of boxing. Hosted on Acast. At the same time, Ellen witnessed and experienced the financial instability of her father's business pursuits. This was not discussed openly, as her parents maintained a never-ever-quit philosophy. While Ellen cherished her parents' positive belief in herself and her siblings, she recognized the value of bringing more transparency into the conversation with her own children. Ellen spent 25 years at Fortune 500 companies in top brand management posts within PepsiCo, Royal Caribbean, and Whirlpool Corporation.
