This time, they are focusing on apples! The Holday Apple Tart, Apple Butter Cake, Apple Tart Tatin, Apple Butter, and an Apple Pie Cocktail are all at the link in the show notes. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2023/11/disney-eats-5-disney-apple-recipes-for-the-holidays/ World of Color – Season of Light is back for the holidays but this time with a new, limited time short before the show. The short highlights the story from Disney's new animated movie Wish. The show runs for about 4 minutes right before the regular World of Color show. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2023/11/18/news-disney-announces-a-new-nighttime-water-show/ While the holidays have been moving into the parks for some time now, there are new decorations up in the hotels and in Downtown Disney. The Disneyland Hotel has gone for a mid-century modern look, with whimsical decorations reminiscent of it's a small world. It will snow in Downtown Disney around the big tree near Jazz Kitchen and Splitsville every half hour from 6 to 10pm. The gingerbread house has returned to the Grand Californian as well. – https://www.micechat.com/373722-disneyland-update-so-far-left-to-go-igers-year-iconic-birthdays-holiday-shifts/ Two iconic parts of Disneyland have recently celebrated a milestone anniversary. The Main Street Fire Engine has been delighting guests, and even Walt Disney himself, for 65 years. In fact, the last photo of Walt in Disneyland was with him and Mickey on the Fire Engine! Steve Dinley, the cast member who is normally seen driving the iconic vehicle is celebrating 50 years at Disneyland! Steve started as a utility man at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, then moved to Tomorrowland attractions, before landing on Main Street in 1984. – https://www.micechat.com/372777-where-the-rubber-meets-the-road-decades-of-disneyland-magic-on-main-street-u-s-a/ Even though The Walt Disney Company's 100th anniversary was not celebrated at in the parks for guests, Mickey and Minnie's 95th anniversary was! Commemorative buttons, photo spots, and a birthday cavalcade helped to honor the occasion. – https://www.micechat.com/373722-disneyland-update-so-far-left-to-go-igers-year-iconic-birthdays-holiday-shifts/ Last Friday, Star Wars Galaxy's Edge celebrated Life Day. Life day is a holiday in the Star Wars universe for the Wookies like Chewbacca. There was a lot of merchandise from last year and a special dessert at Docking Bay 7 that was sold out by the evening. – https://www.micechat.com/373722-disneyland-update-so-far-left-to-go-igers-year-iconic-birthdays-holiday-shifts/ Something out of the ordinary happened on Main Street this week, causing injury to a few guests. Due to high winds, a light pole blew over in Town Square. After the incident, Disneyland secured other similar posts around the park with cabling to stabilize the poles during the high winds. – https://www.ocregister.com/2023/11/20/disneyland-lamppost-falls-and-injures-visitors-during-high-winds/ https://www.micechat.com/373722-disneyland-update-so-far-left-to-go-igers-year-iconic-birthdays-holiday-shifts/ https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/11/breaking-lamppost-falls-over-on-main-street-u-s-a-at-disneyland-guests-injured/ Dream Key Magic Key Holders should have received an email notifying them of the class action lawsuit settlement. Starting in November, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway and The Little Mermaid – Ariel's Undersea Adventure will be added to the service. Runaway Railway currently has individual Lightning Lane access, but will join the standard service. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2023/10/04/new-rides-being-added-to-genie-in-disneyland/#more-860941 On our visit to the parks this past weekend, we were able to see a new character in Avengers Campus. Ouroboros, or O.B. from Loki season 2 was out and about with Loki from the new season as well. New additions include a new PhotoPass Magic Shot, a complimentary holiday tote bag coming in November, and a new Magic Key popcorn bucket coming in January. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2023/10/04/exclusive-perks-announced-for-disneyland/#more-859212 Halloween is still a few weeks away, but the resort is already gearing up for the Holiday season! Some new items will be for sale this coming season like a new Mickey Mouse Toy Soldier popcorn bucket, a Kermit the Frog Holiday Straw Clip, a Mickey Mouse-shaped Red Glitter Jingle Bell Glow Cube, and more. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2023/10/08/sneak-peek-at-disneys-new-holiday-popcorn-bucket/#more-862221 Ahead of the holiday season, some holiday merchandise has arrived at the resort. New ears, stockings, dinnerwear, and almost every other category you can think of has hit the shelves. We expect a ton more to arrive with the official launch of the holiday season at the resort. – https://www.micechat.com/369844-disneyland-news-reservations-construction-holiday-hints/ https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/10/disney-research-team-unveils-child-size-bipedal-walking-robot/ Fans of fun sidekicks will love a couple of new plush that has shown up at the resort. A Loth-Cat plush, as seen on Star Wars Rebels, the Mandalorian, and Ahsoka is $39.99, and Machiavelli, the cat of Giulia's dad from Luca has frowned his way into the shops for $39.99 as well. Both plush are a good size for the price and great for fans of the furry animals. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/10/new-star-wars-loth-cat-and-luca-machiavelli-plush-cuddleez-at-disneyland-resort/ The Disneyland Forward project is a wealth of new concept information, as demonstrated this week when the City of Anaheim released concept art for the proposed new parking structure on the east side of the resort. The concept art looks pretty similar to the existing Pixar and Mickey and Friends garages on the other side of the resort. – https://blogmickey.com/2023/10/concept-art-released-for-potential-new-parking-structure-east-of-disneyland-for-disneylandforward-project/ The team over at Disney Research has unveiled a new child-sized, two legged animatronic. The robot was designed to show off some advanced technology to allow future systems to more easily mimick movement from animated characters, which sometimes is not based in real physics. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2023/10/disney-research-team-unveils-child-size-bipedal-walking-robot/ Discussion Topic: Our Trip to Disneyland and Disneyana This podcast is powered by Pinecast.

Anika Noni Rose, the voice of Tiana from Princess and the Frog, was interviewed on the “Kelly and Ryan” talkshow and made a comment that the Splash Mountain refurbishment had a projected opening of 2024. This is the first time that a solid timefram has been spoken about. Disney would not confirm of deny the information, but released a statement that they will have more to share at the Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans in July. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ At Star Wars Celebration last week, it was announced at one of the panels that new scenes would be coming to Star Tours. No details have been released on what the scenes will be, but it is always a welcome addition to have more options. Once we know more, we will be sure to talk about it on a future episode! – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2022/05/27/disney-hints-at-new-star-tours-scenes/ As we reported last week, Radiator Springs Racers was forced to close after an incident where smoke was coming from one of the ride vehicles. After a 10-day closure, the attraction reopened on Friday, June 3rd. Still no official word on what the cause of the incident was, but a former Disneyland Maintenance Cast Member told MiceChat that the ride vehicles break down regularly and curcuit breakers in each car will cause the vehicle to stop when problems arise. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/03/disneyland-reopens-radiator-springs-racers-after-smoking-car-closes-ride-for-more-than-a-week/ and https://www.micechat.com/322588-disneyland-news-radiator-springs-racers-incident-blue-bayou-return-info/ and https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/fantasmic-dinner-packages/availability-modal/ Guests at Disneyland can dine at a favorite restaurant that has recently reopened in a limited capacity. The Blue Bayou has returned and is not taking online reservations, but guests can join the walk-up wait list for lunch or dinner at the podium at the restaurant, or through the Disneyland mobile app. Pirates of the Caribbean is still closed for refurbishment, so the view may not be as magical as normal. The Fantasmic! dining package lists reservation times starting on June 16th. – https://twitter.com/DisneyParks/status/1532803837068824578 MiceChat was able to obtain aerial photos of Toon Town progress this week. From the air, we can see that all of the pavement in the land has been removed and is currently dirt. The facade of the El CapiTOON theater is looking more and more complete. The area where the new park will be located has been cleared and awaiting work to start. Both fountains in the land have also been removed, along with the gazebo in front of the City Hall building. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ The former entrance to Tarzan's Treehouse has come out from behind walls this week. The area is much more open now for guest traffic heading out of Adventureland toward the bridge over the Pirates queue. Once again, there is not any theming on the new concrete. The lack of the entrance also allows parts of New Orleans Square to be visible throughout Adventureland. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ We are one week into June, and Celebrate Soulfully has officially kicked off at Disneyland. In Disney California Adventure, groups have been performing at the Hollywood Pictures Backlot stage, and in front of Carthay Circle daily, and seasonal food offerings scattered about. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ For anyone who has never seen Fantasmic! or would like some tips on how to best experience it, the Orange County Register posted some tips. Among the best tips are to make sure to find a spot in front of one of the mist screens. They are located in front of the island, and on both sides. If you find yourself in the middle of the screens, the view isn't as good. The other stand out tip is to catch the second show of the night. The second show is always less crowded and it is impossible to sit for hours holding a spot since the entire area is cleared after the first show, and fireworks afterward. The longest you will have to wait is about an hour. – https://www.ocregister.com/2022/06/03/7-tips-for-watching-the-return-of-fantasmic-at-disneyland/ Much like the electrical parade, there is a favorite treat at Disneyland that keeps on returning. The Fluffernutter churro is available once again at Willie's Churros on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. The churro is a standard churro, topeed with a peanut butter sauce, marshmallow sauce, and chocolate chips. The churro is available for $6.75. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2022/06/review-fantastic-fluffernutter-churro-returns-to-disney-california-adventure/ When we were there last month, there was a line of walls up in front of Ariel's Undersea Adventure. Those walls have finally come down to reveal that they were just replacing the concrete in this area. This is just some of the walkway repaving that has been going on around the entire resort. – https://www.micechat.com/323486-disneyland-update-new-views-booking-up-locking-out/ Discussion Topic: Nicolasa from the Disneyana Fan Club

It's still amazing to think about how much Disney expanded its resorts during the early years of Michael Eisner. This growth continued through the '90s and included the opening of Tokyo DisneySea in 2001. Larry Nikolai started at Walt Disney Imagineering during the height of this era in 1990.… Read more... The Little Mermaid : Ariel's Undersea Adventure is a dark ride attraction based on the Note! Thanks for joining us. We've had technical difficulties the last couple of days getting a new podcast out to you, so we thought we'd see what happened when we sent a previous podcast. This is our first Dis Reviz! It's from early on, so many of you probably have not heard it before. 1989 Disney animated classic, The Little Mermaid. It sits in Fantasyland Forest in the Magic Kingdom. Guests are able to journey “under the sea” to experience the adventures of Ariel. But this isn't the first time folks have been going under the sea in this corner of the park. We're here to talk about the evolution of this ride and it's roots in another legendary experience, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It's a story that starts on opening day at Disneyland, and carries itself all the way to Tokyo Disneyland. During our journey, we'll learn some very unknown stories about the original 20,000 Leagues attraction and its impact on park design.

To enter the parks, guests will need a park reservation plus a valid theme park admission ticket. Reservations are currently limited to California residents, and groups of no more than three households. Reservations will launch on April 12th for guests that currently have valid theme park tickets (not annual passes), no earlier than 8am Pacific time. April 15th guests will be able to purchase new theme park tickets. Reservations will be made available on a rolling basis for greatest access to the most guests. Starting April 9th, guests will a valid ticket can check and see what dates they can request reservations for. Disneyland recommends that guests login to their Disneyland account and add the park tickets to the account before attempting to get reservations for the best chance at success. Park Hopping will be allowed, but only after 1pm on the reservation date. Guests with multi-day tickets will have to make separate reservations for each day they wish to attend. For complete details, visit the link in our show notes. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/04/heres-what-you-need-to-know-about-disneyland-resorts-reopening-including-theme-park-reservations-and-tickets/ The Orange County Register posted a list of attractions that will be open, and which attractions will be closed when the parks reopen. Some notable closed attractions are the Jungle Cruise, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, the Monorail, the Matterhorn, Grizzly River Run, and the Animation building. For the complete list, check out the link in our show notes. – https://www.ocregister.com/2021/04/06/which-disneyland-and-dca-rides-will-be-open-when-the-parks-return/ When Disneyland reopens, there will be some limitations on indoor attractions. Attractions have to be less than 15 minutes long, and must be queued outdoors. There is a question on if Rise of the Resistance qualifies under this 15 minute limit. Pirates, Haunted, Small World, and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln are about that length, so we will have to see what happens with those. Other issues, like masks getting wet on attraction like Splash and Grizzly River Run could pose issues. – https://www.laughingplace.com/w/news/2021/03/26/california-theme-park-reopening-guidelines-released-with-specific-limits-on-indoor-attractions-and-more/ and https://www.micechat.com/286268-disneyland-update-to-dream-the-impossible-dream/ With Disneyland preparing to open in just a few weeks, there is a lot of work going on with new and existing projects, which can be seen with MiceChat’s aerial photography this week. The Matterhorn looks like there are workers on the mountain, barges are likely servicing Fantasmic! infrastructure, Splash Mountain appears to be having work done, Storybook Land has been drained and work has wrapped up on King Arthur’s Carousel, the Haunted Mansion, and Snow White. – https://www.micechat.com/286878-disneyland-update-soarin-over-a-soon-to-open-disneyland/ Orange County, where Disneyland is located, has entered the Orange tier, which allows for a maximum of 25% capacity. Indoor capacity limited to a maximum of 25%, indoor dining limited to a maximum of 25% capacity. Orange county could move into the yellow tier soon, which would increase these levels to a maximum of 35% capacity, indoor capacity limited to a maximum of 25% and indoor dining limited to a maximum of 50% capacity. – https://www.micechat.com/286878-disneyland-update-soarin-over-a-soon-to-open-disneyland/ and https://www.laughingplace.com/w/news/2021/03/26/california-theme-park-reopening-guidelines-released-with-specific-limits-on-indoor-attractions-and-more/ After Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened, it was just a matter of time before this next change showed up elsewhere in Disneyland. When the Blue Bayou reopens it will have alcohol on the menu. This will operate similarly to how it works in Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge, which allows guests to order off a limited menu for beverages. Beer, wine, and a signature drink, which is a hurricane will be available. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/03/disney-parks-best-bites-april-2021/ and https://www.micechat.com/286631-blue-bayou-dining-to-add-limited-adult-beverages-when-it-reopens/   Continuing with their environmentally friendly approach, Disney Parks will start offering the option to purchase bamboo utensils at select dining locations starting this Spring. They even come with a handy travel pouch to keep them clean and together. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/03/disney-parks-best-bites-april-2021/ For guests that attended the Touch of Disney event and liked the brisket Mac and cheese, the Disney Parks Blog has posted the recipe to make it at home. There is quite a lot that goes into the various parts of the dish, but looks like it will be quite tasty. Check out the link in the show notes to try your hand at this one. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/04/disneymagicmoments-cooking-up-the-magic-brisket-mac-n-cheese-recipe-from-a-touch-of-disney-at-disney-california-adventure-park/ Guests that have attended a Touch of Disney have experienced some issues when it came to cast member staffing. Disney has had trouble filling all the shifts needed to properly staff all the locations, when taking into account call outs. This additional work for the cast members that do work their shifts, has caused those cast members to call out as well. The way Disney is calling back the most senior cast is causing a delay in getting the proper levels, which keeps this problem going. – https://www.micechat.com/286878-disneyland-update-soarin-over-a-soon-to-open-disneyland/ Mickey Mouse himself has moved to a more friendly location for photos with guests during the Touch of Disney event. The famous mouse now makes appearances in the extended queue section of Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. Previously, Mickey was in his conductor outfit up at the Silly Symphony Swings. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/04/01/this-new-selfie-spot-at-disneylands-a-touch-of-disney-has-us-feeling-so-emotional/ The Lamplight Lounge has a secret drink menu! It has been around for a while, but the Disney Food Blog has a breakdown of all the options, as well as some of the lesser known items on that menu. All of the drinks have fun Disney-like names, and look beautiful. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/04/02/do-you-know-about-this-extra-secret-disney-drink-menu/ Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express has come out with another new beignet creation. This time, it is banana’s foster glazed beignets. This variation comes in a 4 pack with a vanilla bean crème anglaise dipping sauce. The beignets are covered in a banana rum glaze and topped with a cinnamon-sugar dust, with a caramel drizzle.- https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/04/review-bananas-foster-glazed-beignets-at-ralph-brennans-jazz-kitchen-express-in-downtown-disney-district/ Two things to note at Downtown Disney this week. First, you can buy a refillable mug at Wetzel’s for $14.99, which includes a drink, you can then bring it back for a free refill, with additional refills for just $1! The other is a corndog that contains a pickle with a hotdog inside of it! You can pick one up at Blue Ribbon Corndogs. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/04/02/whats-new-in-downtown-disney-pickle-corn-dogs-tweed-ears-and-4-mugs/ Disneyland launched quite the PR campaign almost two weeks ago now, but we wanted to make sure that we learned more about it before we discussed it on the show. It was a little delayed by our trip to California as well. DisneylandForward is the name of this campaign, and while initially people thought it was plans for an expansion, it is really just a vague representation of what they could do, if Anaheim will approve the rezoning into more of a mixed use area.- http://www.disneylandforward.com/ and https://www.micechat.com/286268-disneyland-update-to-dream-the-impossible-dream/

News: Arriving early seems to be the best bet when it comes to Touch of Disney. For those folks staying at a hotel on Harbor, the access is easier and you can arrive to Downtown Disney earlier than the 11:30am Mickey and Friends crowds. For locals, there is also the option to park at the Anaheim Hotel for $10 and walk over. The crowds do pick up in the afternoon and early evening, so getting in and ordering some food right away is a good idea. Avoiding food and checking out the characters and photo ops in the afternoon when it is busiest is the best idea. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/03/18/what-does-a-sold-out-a-touch-of-disney-crowd-look-like-at-disneyland/ Touch of Disney hasn’t been all sunshine and churros. Guests online and even in our community, reported some hiccups with the opening weekend of the event. Guests arriving to Mickey and Friends at 11:30 when the garage opened, then had to walk the tram route, which resulted in getting the the gates after the noon start time. Entrance was slowed down due to having to scan the ticket, take guests photos, then scanning the $25 food gift card to enter. Mobile ordering is highly encouraged, but also had long waits for food once ordered, that in some cases, was faster to stand in line and order at the booth instead. – https://www.mouseplanet.com/12893/Disneyland_Resort_Update_for_March_22__28_2021 Something interesting popped up online this week with guests being able to see different angles into Avenger’s Campus with Touch of Disney going on. It appears that the Web Slingers attraction has a part of the track outside on the roof! We looked at some aerial photos to see if we could 100% confirm this, but there wasn’t a good angle to do so. There is a piece of concept art that has Mission Breakout in the background, so it could show proof of this. We were under the impression that the stunt show would be in this area, so we will see when the land and this attraction officially open to the public. – https://www.micechat.com/285785-disneyland-gets-ready-to-reopen-as-california-adventures-food-festival-kicks-off/ Attendees of the Touch of Disney event are able to look into Avenger’s Campus and see one of the decorative highlights of the new area – the Quinjet! It is parked on top of the location of the possible future location of the phase 2 big Avenger’s e-ticket attraction. – https://www.micechat.com/285785-disneyland-gets-ready-to-reopen-as-california-adventures-food-festival-kicks-off/ Guests were greeted with some unexpected refurbishments going on within California Adventure at the start of the Touch of Disney event. The rotunda for Ariel’s Undersea Adventure is behind scaffolding and being painted, as well as quite a bit of work around Pacifc Wharf, specifically the Cocina Cucamounga. – https://www.micechat.com/285785-disneyland-gets-ready-to-reopen-as-california-adventures-food-festival-kicks-off/ One amazing thing that has returned with the Touch of Disney event are the PhotoPass photographers! There are a number of locations that have been setup to take advantage of their return. There are also some locations that are setup without PhotoPass photographers that are just plain fun! There is a Mickey mural on the side of the D-Lish booth, a D23 Mickey Hands mural near Ghiradelli, butterfly wings by Paradise Garden, and more. For a complete list, check out the link in the show notes. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/03/20/heres-every-photo-op-at-disney-california-adventures-new-event/ During the Touch of Disney event, the games of Pixar Pier are open for guests to enjoy. Dividers have been installed between the seats and cast members are cleaning and sanitizing between each game. The games were free to play during the event, but it is unclear if it will remain that way. – https://www.laughingplace.com/w/news/2021/03/19/games-of-the-pixar-pier-operating-during-touch-of-disney-event-at-disney-california-adventure/ Legacy Passholders have a few places to pick up some nice swag at Touch of Disney. Over in Paradise Gardens, there is an AP corner with a photo op for the 20th anniversary of DCA, along with a Legacy Passholder magnet and button. The 65th Anniversary of Disneyland AP magnet is also still available at most merchandise locations, just be sure to ask. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/03/18/photos-check-out-the-exclusive-items-legacy-passholders-can-snag-in-disneyland/ More details have been trickling out about the new storyline and themeing for the World Famous Jungle Cruise this past week. The new story will center around Alberta Falls, the granddaughter of famed explorer Albert Falls, and is now the proprietor of the Jungle Navigation Company who operates the Jungle Cruise. For full details, visit the links that we have in the show notes. – https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/03/jungle-cruise-adds-new-characters-mischievous-wildlife-and-skipper-humor-to-classic-attraction/ and https://www.micechat.com/280932-breaking-news-major-changes-coming-to-the-jungle-cruise-at-disneyland-and-magic-kingdom/ The Disneyland Hotel turned 65 back in October, and there is finally some merchandise to celebrate. There are tees, a sweater, and more available at the Wonderground Gallery in Downtown Disney. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/03/photos-disneyland-hotel-65th-anniversary-apparel-debuts-at-disneyland-resort/ Salt and Straw has done it again with another interesting take on ice cream. This time, some of your favorite cereals are now an option! Some options recreate Lucky Charms, Cocoa Crisps, Peanut Butter Captain Munch, Rice Crispies, and Corn Flakes. – https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/03/20/your-favorite-cereals-are-now-ice-cream-flavors-in-disneyland/ Tortilla Jo’s will have an Easter Brunch Menu on Sunday, April 4, 2021. In what might be a surprise to some, the satisfaction ratings are above where they were before the pandemic. This could be caused by the lower attendace levels, which makes for a more pleasant experience, the precautions Disney has taken to keep everyone safe, or just that people are happy to be out of the house doing anything. He also stated that the parks will continue to be more magical when more guests return. – https://dlnewstoday.com/2021/03/disney-ceo-bob-chapek-states-guest-satisfaction-at-parks-is-higher-now-compared-to-pre-pandemic/ Bob Iger was interviewed for the SiriusXM business show Leadership Matters. First off, we chat with Geoff about Apple's uncanny ability to hold dominance over the tablet market, while not being able to reproduce a similarly prolific reign over the world wide cell phone market. Next up, we learn about AI scaling, the latest in television picture technology; while it may not offer any revolutionary picture quality upgrades, it will make older formats look better on newer televisions. Then, we discuss Apple AirPods 2, true wireless headphones, and their sound quality and comfort. Closing the show, Geoff shares his undersea adventure in the Caribbean, and the 360 degree video he captured using an Insta360 camera. Tune in to learn more. As a companion piece to last episode, this episode we are headed to Disney California Adventure to ride The Little Mermaid - Ariel’s Undersea Adventure.  The guide map's lackluster description of this ride says, “Be part of Ariel’s world aboard this attraction!”  There are no age or height requirements for this attraction and the Thrill Level describes the ride as bing a Loud, Dark Slow Ride. Before we set sail, here are five fast facts about The Little Mermaid - Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at Disney California Adventure. 1.  Located in the Paradise Pier (soon to be Paradise Park) section of Disney California Adventure, The Little Mermaid - Ariel’s Undersea Adventure officially opened on June 3, 2011.  It took over the spot in the park previously occupied by Golden Dreams, a film about the history of California narrated by Whoopi Goldberg. 2.  The statue of King Triton on the attraction’s exterior was related there from the, now defunct, Triton Gardens in Disneyland. 3.  The mural that can be seen in the ride’s load area where you board your clam-mobile is 86 feet long and was painted entirely by hand. 4.  The animatronic figure of Ursula in the attraction is the biggest on the ride measuring 7 1/2 feet tall and 12 feet wide.  5.  This attraction boasts a tribute to the movie The Incredible Mr. Limpet, a film where Don Knotts turns into a fish named Mr. Limpet.  In the Under the Sea sequence of the ride, Mr. Limpett can be spotted directly across from where Ariel is dancing. So now, let’s ride The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s’ Undersea Adventure at Disney California Adventure and see how it compares to Magic Kingdom’s Under The Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid.  Suzie is along for the ride today and after we ride we’ll discuss out thoughts on this attraction.  This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we experience, The Little Mermaid - Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at Disney California Adventure.   FOLLOW US http://www.facebook.com/attractionchecklist  http://www.facebook.com/saturdaymorningmedia  http://www.twitter.com/SaturdayMMedia  https://plus.google.com/+Saturdaymorningmedia  https://www.linkedin.com/company/saturday-morning-media http://www.youtube.com/user/SaturdayMorningMedia?sub_confirmation=1 FOLLOW GRANT http://www.MrGrant.comhttp://www.twitter.com/toasterboy  https://instagram.com/throwingtoasters/ Sources: WIKIPEDIAhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Little_Mermaid:_Ariel%27s_Undersea_Adventure DISNEYLAND WEBSITEhttps://disneyland.disney.go.com/attractions/disney-california-adventure/little-mermaid-ariels-undersea-adventure/ HIDDENMICKEYGUY.COMhttp://www.hiddenmickeyguy.com/news/little-mermaid-ariel’s-undersea-adventure-fun-facts   Show ©2017 Saturday Morning Media/Grant Baciocco

Check out the youtube channel at www.youtube.com/SamsDisneyDiary and follow me on twitter @SamsDisneyDiary) As the excitement and anticipation of the New Fantasyland continues, we can get a sneak peak at one of the new attractions with a quick visit to Disneyland Resorts California Adventure. Originally planned for Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Worlds Magic Kingdom in the mid 1990s, "The Little Mermaid" dark ride was "Shelved". Researching the history of the attraction I uncovered some very interesting things, including the virtual ride through of the "attraction never build" on the 2006 DVD version of the Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid Attraction was revived when the Disney California Adventure and WDW Magic Kingdom expansions where announced. The DCA version of the attraction opened on June 3, 2011 replacing the Golden Dreams Theater and the WDW version will be part of the fantasyland expansion phase 1, to open in 2012.
