Enterprises rushing agentic AI into production are running it through approval gates, batch windows, and audit systems built for human speed — and the gap is where most operational risk lives. In this episode, Chris Caldwell, President and CEO at Concentrix Corporation, examines how machine-scale transactions break processes designed for human pace and why bounded digital delegates outperform unrestricted digital twins in the enterprise. The discussion covers compliance bots that check other bots, the cost reality of poorly tuned agentic agents, and what leaders need to stop doing if they want a defensible AI roadmap. The EU has ordered Meta to grant rival AI chatbots free access to its WhatsApp platform within five working days, while it completes its antitrust investigation into the company. Meta says it will appeal, accusing the EU of "regulatory overreach". Meanwhile, Brussels hits back at Apple after the iPhone maker blamed the EU's Digital Marketing Act for its decision to delay the rollout of its new Siri AI in Europe.
Modern work can be frustrating and chaotic—if you don't have the right tools. From context engineering to multimodal search, go behind the scenes and hear how Dropbox engineers are building AI that actually understands you, so you can focus on the work that matters most. If you're new to Working Smarter, we've travelled from the F1 track to the bottom of a lake, and heard real stories from chefs, doctors, lawyers, and founders about how AI is helping them do more of what they love about their jobs. But in our third season, we're talking to the people behind the tools—the engineers and product leaders building helpful, time-saving AI features into the Dropbox experience you already know and trust. You'll hear all about their work on agents, inference, security, and, of course, how the people building AI use AI themselves. ~ ~ ~ Working Smarter is brought to you by Dropbox. What if the future of AI is not one all-knowing assistant, but an entire workforce of specialized agents working together behind the scenes? Recorded st Zendesk Relate, this episode features a fascinating conversation with Shashi Upadhyay about where enterprise AI is really heading, and why many businesses are still underestimating the scale of operational change required to make agentic AI work. Shashi explains why Zendesk views AI agents as a new form of digital labor rather than simply another software feature. Instead of building one giant general-purpose assistant, Zendesk is developing coordinated networks of specialized agents designed for specific business functions such as billing, collections, refunds, returns, employee service, and industry-specific workflows across sectors like healthcare, banking, and e-commerce. We also go behind the curtain inside Zendesk itself. Shashi shares how the company has transformed internally from a traditional seat-based SaaS business into an organization focused on measurable outcomes such as automation rates, customer satisfaction, and successful resolutions. He also discusses how AI is changing software development itself, enabling smaller engineering teams to move dramatically faster while reshaping how products are designed and built. The conversation explores some of the biggest themes emerging across the AI industry right now, including outcome-based pricing, AI trust and guardrails, resolution learning loops, embedded AI, and the growing shift toward agent-to-agent interactions where personal AI assistants may eventually negotiate directly with enterprise AI systems on behalf of consumers. We also discuss the fears many people have around jobs and automation. Rather than predicting catastrophic job loss, Shashi argues there is still enormous unmet demand for better service experiences, and that AI may ultimately allow businesses to finally deliver the level of customer experience people have wanted for years. If you're trying to understand where enterprise AI moves next after copilots and chatbots, this conversation offers a clear and thought-provoking look at the systems, workflows, and cultural shifts already reshaping the future of work.

Send us Fan MailAnewgo AI Brief: April 2026 - Agents, Buyer Expectations, and the Closing WindowThe AI window for home builders is closing faster than most people think. In this month's Anewgo AI Brief, Anya Chrisanthon - CCO at Anewgo and host of the Anewgo of New Home Sales podcast - delivers her monthly no-hype download on what is actually happening in AI and what it means for new home sales in April 2026.The AI Model Landscape GPT-4 is retired. OpenAI has moved fully to GPT-5 and ships updates every few weeks. Google's Gemini 3.1 Pro leads most independent benchmarks. Claude just shipped a new Opus model on April 16th - their strongest yet for complex reasoning and agentic tasks. 97% of real estate firms now report their teams are actively using AI. This is not early adoption. This is infrastructure.AI Assistants vs. AI Agents An AI assistant is your GPS - it guides, but you're still behind the wheel. An AI agent acts for you: identifies the buyer who's been back three times this week, scores their intent, writes a follow-up script, and pushes a task to your OSC before morning. The buyer never filled out a form. Anya explains how Anewgo's Sophie is already building this into the Anewgo CRM.The Buyer Expectation Gap Cotality (formerly CoreLogic) found that 75% of home buyers now expect AI during the buying process. Not would like - expect. Most builder websites aren't delivering that yet.Three Things to Do in the Next 90 Days (1) Get your website AI-ready with an assistant that knows your floorplans, communities, and inventory. (2) Capture your invisible buyer data - 99.5% of visitors never fill out a form, but the right AI system gives them a profile. (3) Audit your content library - AI can transform a construction site photo into a finished home rendering in seconds. The AI Slop Problem AI does not create slop. Lazy use of AI creates slop. Use it to amplify your brand voice, not replace it.Anya's Take The large builders are not watching AI. They are building. Behavioral data and intelligence compound over time - and so does the gap. The question is whether you are leading that charge in your market or responding to it.Come find us at anewgo.com/podcast - we're happy to nerd out on this with you. Next month: what's actually working in AI content for home builder marketing, and what's just noise.About Anewgo Anewgo is an all-in-one new home sales and marketing platform. What happens when AI becomes more than a chatbot and starts acting like an assistant inside your real estate business? In this episode of Realty Hack, Ryan sits down with Louis, founder and CEO of HouseWhisper and former Zillow product executive, for a deep conversation on where AI is taking real estate next. They get into how AI assistants can help agents stay on top of follow up, automate CRM tasks, improve accountability, and create better client experiences without adding more complexity. But this conversation goes beyond productivity. Ryan and Louis also dive into a bigger question: what happens to proptech as AI lowers the barrier to building software? They unpack where the industry is headed, what team leaders and brokers should be paying attention to, and why the biggest opportunity may be for those willing to experiment now. Topics include AI assistants for agents, CRM automation, follow up systems, proptech disruption, vibe coding, AI tools for brokers, and how real estate businesses can stay ahead as technology moves faster. If you're curious where AI in real estate is really going, this is a conversation worth watching. Subscribe to Realty Hack for more conversations on real estate, marketing, technology and the future of the industry.

Did Anthropic outship literally everyone else this week?
Key Takeaways SEO evolution: Most people prefer having answers given directly rather than searching for them, which is reshaping how information is accessed. As a result, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is evolving toward AI-driven assistants and agents that deliver faster, more personalized responses than traditional web searches. AEO & GEO: Two approaches emerging from this shift are Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). AEO focuses on making content easier for AI engines to understand, while GEO aims to make that content the trusted source AI relies on when generating future responses. Looking ahead: To implement AEO and GEO, teams need well-structured data and content that directly answers questions. While this is already visible in digital commerce, other sectors like finance will soon see AI engines compare products and assess risk using trusted data sources and trust scores. Listen Now to Episode 152 Future Now Show - Abundance and Dark Matter in theYear of the Firehorse A lively, conversational podcast today from our beach house studio, with great input from Ara, one of our AI Assistants, weighing in on today’s topics ranging from the age of bones to the current feasibility of room-temperature superconductors. We blend a casual energy with serious science news, discussing cutting-edge developments like AI video generators that are disrupting Hollywood and the astrophysical debate over whether the center of our galaxy contains a black hole or a clump of “fermionic dark matter” In today’s exploration for human advancement, we reference Peter Diamandis’s new white paper and his “moonshots” for creating a true age of abundance by 2035. We should be able to live over 120 years, and achieve reverse aging, thanks to the current “intelligence revolution.” Beyond hard science, the conversation drifts into spiritual and philosophical realms, examining concepts like universal consciousness (the “Big U”), the use of AI to create “digital twins” of the deceased, and the astrological significance of the “Year of the Fire Horse,” thanks to our guest Paul Gotel. Enjoy! Welcome to the Year of the Firehorse

In this episode of Money Matters, Christopher Hensley sits down with Matt Halloran, author of Shut the F Up and Listen and Chief Evangelist at Zocks, to continue a conversation that began with one core idea: great advice starts with great listening. Now, that philosophy is colliding with a new reality—AI assistants. Matt explains why AI assistants won't replace financial advisors, but will raise the standard for what clients expect. From AI note-taking to tools that capture emotional cues, automate follow-ups, and turn conversations into actionable client intelligence, this episode breaks down what's actually changing—and what still belongs squarely in the human domain. You'll hear why AI assistants are helping advisors reclaim 10+ hours per week, how better recall builds deeper trust and referrals, and why the real risk isn't AI itself—but ignoring it while other advisors move ahead. In This Episode, You'll Learn: Why AI note-takers are just the beginning How AI assistants capture details advisors miss during meetings The difference between generic AI tools and purpose-built advisor platforms Why better listening leads to stronger trust and referrals How advisors should reinvest the time AI gives back Why AI can actually help advisors become more human, not less Key Takeaway: AI won't replace financial advisors. Advisors who use AI well will replace those who don't. About the Guest Matt Halloran is the Chief Evangelist at Zocks and the author of Shut the F Up and Listen. Key TakeawaysMullican expresses the value of the event, and given that AI and Copilot have matured, the sessions at the 2025 AI Agent & Copilot Summit NA will shift from a focus on experimentation to practical applications that deliver real impact. As a returning Programming Committee Board member, Mullican highlights the "unprecedented number of submissions this time around,” making it tough to choose sessions for 2025. The event will offer a mix of visionary talks, practical use cases, and deep dives to serve both tech and business audiences.Mullican shares how business leaders can use the event to "adapt to a new reality," as it aims to “cut through the hype” around AI and focus on practical realities. Even though AI offers transformative potential, most businesses will adopt it gradually, using tools like copilots to improve efficiency rather than undergoing radical overnight changes. AI assistants are currently misrepresenting news content 45% of the time, according to a study by the European Broadcasting Union. This research, which evaluated 3,000 responses from popular AI chatbots, including ChatGPT and Google Gemini, revealed that 31% of responses had serious sourcing issues, while 30% contained inaccuracies. Notably, Google's Gemini performed the worst, with 76% of its outputs flawed. This raises significant concerns about the reliability of AI in disseminating information, particularly as these tools increasingly serve as intermediaries between users and content. In addition to issues of accuracy, a study from Stanford and Harvard found that AI chatbots tend to flatter users rather than challenge them, validating user behavior 50% more than human counterparts. This tendency to agree rather than provide constructive feedback can lead to a lack of critical engagement, further complicating the role of AI in decision-making processes. Furthermore, the Wikimedia Foundation reported an 8% decline in human traffic to Wikipedia, attributed to generative AI chatbots and search engines that provide direct answers without redirecting users to original sources. This trend highlights the growing challenge faced by platforms reliant on user engagement. The episode also discusses advancements in AI capabilities from major players like Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic. Microsoft has introduced updates to its CoPilot AI assistant, including a group chat feature and a new Real Talk mode that encourages more dynamic interactions. OpenAI's ChatGPT can now search across multiple applications, while Anthropic's Claude has introduced a memory feature that retains past conversations. These developments indicate a shift towards more integrated and context-aware AI systems that can enhance collaboration and user experience. For Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and IT service leaders, the implications are clear. The effectiveness of AI now hinges on context, governance, and integration rather than just model size. As AI tools become more prevalent, the responsibility for ensuring their safe and effective use falls on providers. This presents an opportunity for MSPs to develop new service lines focused on AI hygiene and governance, helping clients navigate the complexities of AI while maximizing its potential benefits.Four things to know today 00:00 The Limits of AI: Research Shows Chatbots Mislead, Overagree, and Undermine the Information Ecosystem04:27 A 1997 PC Running AI? In the movies, Tony Stark's JARVIS is the ultimate AI assistant, managing schedules, running simulations, controlling environments, and anticipating needs before they are voiced. In reality, today's AI agents are still far from that vision. Despite 2025 being heralded as the year of agentic AI, the first offerings from major players have been underwhelming. They can perform tasks, but they remain a long way from the seamless, hyper-intelligent assistants we imagined. In this episode, Dr. Robert “Bobby” Blumofe, CTO at Akamai Technologies, joins me to explore what is really holding AI assistants back and what it will take to build one as capable as a top human executive assistant. Bobby argues that the leap forward will not come from chasing ever-larger models but from optimization, efficiency, and integrating AI with the right tools, infrastructure, and processes. He believes that breakthroughs in model efficiency, like those seen in DeepSeek, could make capable agents affordable and viable for everyday use. We break down the spectrum of AI agents from simple, task-specific helpers to the fully autonomous, general-purpose vision of JARVIS. Bobby shares why many of the most valuable enterprise applications will come from the middle ground, where agents are semi-autonomous, task-focused, and integrated with other systems for reliability. He also explains why smaller, specialized models often outperform “ask me anything” LLMs for specific business use cases, reducing cost, latency, and security risks. The conversation covers Akamai's role in enabling low-latency, scalable AI at the edge, the importance of combining neural and symbolic AI to achieve reliable reasoning and planning, and a realistic five-to-seven-year timeline for assistants that can rival the best human EAs. We also look at the technical, social, and business challenges ahead, from over-reliance on LLMs to the ethics of deploying highly capable agents at scale. This is a grounded, forward-looking discussion on the future of AI assistants, where they are today, why they have fallen short, and the practical steps needed to turn fiction into reality.
In this episode of Tech Talks Daily, I sat down with Fred Helou, founder and CEO of Vagaro, a platform reshaping how service-based businesses in the beauty, wellness, and fitness sectors operate in a digital world. What began as an idea sparked by a frustrating haircut booking experience during a business trip to Korea has evolved into a platform used by over 250,000 professionals worldwide. Fred walked me through his journey from developing the concept in 1999 to officially launching Vagaro in 2009 after being laid off during the financial crisis. Along the way, he navigated shifting technology trends, from desktop tools to mobile apps and now artificial intelligence. At its core, Vagaro has always aimed to be a digital assistant for its users, allowing solopreneurs and large enterprises alike to focus on their craft while automation handles the rest. Our conversation explored how AI is quietly transforming the day-to-day operations of small businesses. From writing emails and responding to reviews to answering customer chats and booking appointments in real time, Vagaro's AI tools are making it easier for service providers to grow without hiring additional staff. Fred outlined a future where professionals simply set goals for their schedule and let AI optimize bookings, promotions, and customer engagement around the clock. What stood out was Fred's commitment to enhancing—not replacing—the human experience. He spoke candidly about the irreplaceable role of the hairdresser or personal trainer and why no one wants scissors near their neck managed by a robot. Instead, the platform empowers professionals with enterprise-grade tools once out of reach for smaller operators. Fred also shared how his experience growing up during the Lebanese Civil War shaped his resilience as a founder. That perspective has influenced Vagaro's long-term approach to product development, culture, and navigating uncertainty. As AI evolves from assistance to autonomy, how is your business preparing to scale without losing the human touch that sets it apart?
