And we're back! Our new scene is set, it's split between Westfall and Ogrimmar, in which an author must deal with the dizzying array of world leaders available in the Battle for Azeroth era of a game at least a bunch of us were already starting to forget. You'll never forget such luminaries as Kiro, Caravan Leader of the Vulpera, right? I sure won't. Anyway, we barely even get an idea of what's about to happen here. Something about the elements being angry? You know how these are. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Buchhinweise: L. Hechenblaikner, A. Kühbacher, R. Zollinger. «Keine Ostergrüsse mehr!». Edition Patrick Frey, 2021. George Orwell. Tage in Burma. Dörlemann, 2021. Hengameh Yaghoobifarah. Das Ministerium der Träume. Aufbau, 2021.
This new content patch will include N'Zoth Assaults in two zones: Uldum and Vale of Eternal Blossoms. N'Zoth has taken over and Corrupted these areas. Taking part in these Assaults will earn you reputation with the Uldum Accord and Rajani and earn you a new currency: Coalescing Visions. Wrathion returns in this Patch, starting off with a long Introduction Questline that will act as a tutorial for the major systems of this patch. This includes his own legendary cloak Ashjra'kamas, Shroud of Resolve and a plan to enter and take down the Horrific Visions of N'zoth. Titanforging is being removed for all Patch 8.3 content and replaced by Corrupted Gear which will provide you with powerful effects, but at a cost. Participating in Horrific Visions will allow you to upgrade Wrathion's Legendary Cloak, helping you to combat some of the negative effects of the Corrupted gear. In addition, new Essences are being added for all roles, as well as new recipes for Professions. Two new Allied Races are being added to the game: Vulpera for the Horde and Mechagnomes for the Alliance.
Athalus and Mango speculate on Bolbar's role in patch 8.3, and whether the expansion after Shadowlands has already been alluded to by current day lore. Also, Vulpera racials are amazing! Topic: World of Warcraft This week, we start the process of learning about one of my favorite games of the last decade, and Mom gets to come and journey with me on it. We’re learning about World of Warcraft, and while we can’t talk about everything, we’ll certainly give you a good idea of what it’s all about! Tutorial MMORPG – Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game Developed and Created by Blizzard Entertainment, now Activision Blizzard Interactive. Based on previous MMOs, like Runescape, Ultima Online, Everquest, Star Wars Galaxies, and many other game. Personal Favorite were Phantasy Star Online and Ragnarok Online Blizzard knows how to distill the core, fun elements of a game, rebuild it in their own image and what is fun about it, and then paint a rich narrative over the entire game to bring it to life. Blizzard is well known for their Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo franchises. A good studio that puts out quality games. History Beginning development in 1999-2000 around the same time as development on Warcraft 3. Elements from Warcraft 3 helped shape the story, character, world, and races of the upcoming World of Warcraft. Announced in 2001, released in late fall of 2004. Immediate success based of studio’s previous work and franchise of Warcraft a few years earlier. The game was a worldwide success, and quickly became the most popular and largest game in history. Additional expansion are released every two years to provide new mechanics, character classes and/or races, new locations to visit, and new stories/lore. Vanilla/Classic (2004) Initial incarnation of the game. Story takes place on Azeroth, a fictional, fantasy world with two major factions trying to bide for control over the world: The Alliance(Humans, Dwarfs, Gnomes, & Night Elves) The Horde (Orcs, Trolls, Tauren, &Undead(Forsaken)) Each control major areas of two continents and war against each other in an eternal struggle. Original story focused on a Dragon lord trying to come to power. Blood gods of the Trolls seeking to corrupt the world. Ancient bugs awakening from their slumber. And the Undead returning to finish the job. Classic versions of the original game were recently released in August of 2019 to allow players to play the original version of the game. The Burning Crusade (2006) Set in the world of Outland, the former home of Orcs. Alliance recruits the Dranaei. Horde recruits the Blood Elves. Story has us fighting against the Burning Legion, the universal evil bad guys set on destroying all life. Eventually to fight a big bad named Illidan Introduction of Flying in game Wrath of the Lich King (2008) Set on the continent of Northrend Introduced a new player class (Death Knights) for all races Story follows forcing trying to subdue the big bad Lich King from Warcraft 3 Marked what many feel is the high point of the game. 12 Million Subscribers high. Cataclysm (2010) Revamped the 1-60 game world, drastically altering the landscape of the game to allow flying and new game effects. Alliance recruits the Worgen. Horde recruit a faction of Goblins Some class/race combinations rebalanced for more options. Story follows heroes trying to stop the dragon ‘Deathwing’ from destroying the world. He’s the one that caused the world to sunder, otherwise known in game as ‘The Cataclysm’. New world also introduced a more dynamic story that would begin to play out over multiple expansions and lead in to the next one over time. Mists of Pandaria (2012) Set in the land of Pandaria, a place hidden in mist until the Cataclysm revealed it. Alliance and Horde recruit Panderians, New class known as the monk introduced. Story follows the Alliance and Horde bring war to a new place that hadn’t seen it and causing a mess. Eventually capped off with the Leader of the Horde trying to start a genocide of his own faction and his eventual downturn. Warlords of Draenor (2014) Returned to Outland before it became Outland, and even went back in time. Introduction of Garrisons as a major feature. Story followed form warchief going back in time to before the orcs were corrupted, and trying to build the Horde he always wish it would be. We would stop the new horde from advancing in to our world and taking it over. Game quickly begins to slow down, with the game being less than well received and considered lackluster. Entire raid content/patch was dropped. Legion (2016) Set in the Broken Isle, a lost location where the Burning Legion has returned thanks to Gul’dan from last expansion being sent to our world. Introduced the Demon Hunters to the game. Revamp of all Classes and specs to create dynamic, individual game play, and Order Halls. Story follows us trying to stop the burning Legion of returning and putting an end to their campaign once and for all. Many people happy about this expansion and considered a new high point. Battle for Azeroth (2018) Current expansion. Set on islands of Kul Tiras and Zandalar, forgotten lands in wow lore. Welcome to The Starting Zone Podcast, The World of Warcraft Podcast for New and Experienced Players! Spencer Downey and Jason Lucas sit down to talk with our Patrons about what's on their minds for the June Patron Q&A! Episode #334: June Patron Q&A! is ready for Download! What's New this Week in World of Warcraft! How do we feel about the body guard system? What's our view on recruitment vetting for heroic raiding? What was our favourite boss from BoDA? What's your most anticipated boss from the Azshara raid? What are our thoughts on the Baine scenario? Where are we going after this? Do you think Sylvannas becomes a raid encounter? What is your favorite zone in WoW? Mine would be Nagrand. Fond memories of idly skinning my way through critters while talking in guild chat. Lovely zone. BC Nagrand, to be specific. What do you think is the most outlandish/time intensive thing you wish you'd done prior to the patch that you didn't get to? So I'm barely into Nazjatar right now -- don't even have a follower to level 3 -- but at this point I've gotten two pieces of benthic gear that I've been able to upgrade to 410. Any impressions / opinions about how that gearing system is/isn't delivering for people? I want Vulpera as an allied race more than I want world peace, but I have a weird feeling that we're going to get Gilgoblins. I would really like to know how many hours per week you guys play WoW. It seems like it is a lot more than I do. But I am curious.

Discord: http://discord.worldofwarcast.com Twitch: http://twitch.tv/starmiketv Mount Up Add-on: https://wow.curseforge.com/projects/mount-up Ren Have 1 level 117 prot paladin and 1 level 114 subtlety rogue Disappointed by pickpocketing Noticed small amount of voice recycling - some of the voices/sayings of the Vulpera are identical to those of pandaren children Navigating the ziggurat: 8 level changes and 327 stairs between the main level and the profession trainers Fossilized Raptor mount now has apparent hip problems Technical issue: keep having problem where my xp bars aren’t showing xp -- just showing rep and artifact power %. Temporary fix: open Rep pane, toggle one of the reps “show as experience bar” on/off. Problem seems unrelated to mods, as it does it even when all mods are off Mike Burning the horde in the Clearcut was fun :D Dinged 120 on Sunday - it was faster than expected. Marie Davenport is the best grandma in WoW WITCHES! Drustvar is amazing Trying to get geared up for heroics - currently 301 Have not finished all zones. Still four whole zones to complete New trick - group members kicking themselves to beat the timer. Got into a dungeon where three people left, no tank Next dungeon got me three pieces. Tailoring has slowed. Still have to deal with enchanting. Haven’t taken a good look at it. WQs open after two Zandalar zones are quick-finished, then one solo island expedition, THEN the third, THEN friendly rep. This Week in WoW PvP Brawl: Gravity Lapse event Seemingly not going for weekly stuff for another few weeks into the expansion at least News and BfA Do the city quests first - leads to other benefits Example: Pests in northern area of Horde city called the Zocalo - be sure to pick up “Pests” - gives you access to Jani, the Loa of Scavengers. As you’re out and about, you will sometimes get a whisper from her that you’ve found a “shiny trinket” - find her trash pile to get a treasure chest Horde - starts in the Zocalo, the northern part of the city, so do this right away. Alliance: starts in Shatterstone Harbor in Vol’dun, so you don’t get this one til later Changing and advancing professions in BfA Advantage to changing: you can start along with everyone else When you change the profession, you have to click TWICE - once to get the initial Vanilla levels, and then a second time to learn the Zandalari profession Check to make sure you pick up all your level 1 abilities and recipes - you get them automatically sometimes (cooking) and not other times (gathering professions) Worth getting your other profession alts at least started in the city - early level stuff can be useful, such as the level 1 Rubellite recipe in JC (Insightful Rubellite - +5% xp) and the Zandalari tradeskill glove enchants. Rubelite currently selling for around 70g on Whisperwind AH; Zandalari tradeskill enchants are pretty cheap also if you don’t want to DIY Developer Q&A with Ian Hazzikostas: some highlights Feral druid AOE tuning has been improved but isn’t finished yet. 120 power setback is noticeable - looking in future expansions to smooth it out so you don’t feel like hitting max level is a huge backward jump Autoaccept removed from groups: development believed autoaccept for groups and using addons for searching for groups created an imbalance between those who used addons and those who didn’t. (Ren does not approve) AH is showing its age, particularly on high pop servers. Search options too limited May introduce deposits that would reward people with bulk pricing -- higher deposits for people who post a single stack of a stackable trade good (what could go wrong?) Community moderation coming in the next patch Azerite armor will be tradeable starting after next week’s patch (“they don’t want players to abuse the system to look for the best possible class/trait combination to loot a certain piece of azerite armor”) AP needed to advance your Heart of Azeroth will be reduced New models incoming for goblins and worgen (please fix hats!) Is this expansion “alt friendly”? Takes me about 20 minutes to get from beginning of entry quests to in the first inn, bound, and basic professions upgraded. Multiply that by 13 level 110s and that’s over 4 hours just to get everyone in the game. Not even counting the 1 Horde and 1 Alliance character I needed to take through the whole thing. Are side quests a problem?
Ben and Jon are joined by Rho, Thyst, and Thorn to talk about glowy bits, Vulpera, and wine making.
