In this episode of Servin' Up Cinema, we're talking raunchy comedies... Neighbors and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. Please welcome to the show, first-time guest, Mei Krusenklaus! We take a look at both films -- the fraternity, the sorority, and Mac and Kelly's family... and guess what? We may have learned a lesson or two in the process. Beyond those lessons, you can enjoy these films like the outrageous, irreverent, and truly hilarious comedies that they are! There's something here for everyone unless you aren't into airbag pranks or a shirtless duo of Zac Efron and Seth Rogen. WE LOVE FEEDBACK! Welcome back to Servin' Up Cinema! This week, Brittan and LA actor and Mascot, Peter Block, take a look at the Rocky/Creed Franchises. They break down all the movies from the original Rocky (1976) all the way to the latest entry of Creed III (2023). Each film in this franchise is unique, and all of them --- yes, even Rocky V, can be enjoyed by an audience and will stand the test of time. Britt and Pete get into the nitty gritty on each entry and have compiled their own lists power-ranking these films. We talk about all your favorite characters, Rocky, Adrian, Apollo, Adonis, Mick, Paulie, and more! Where do these films fit in your ranking lists? We would love to know! WE LOVE FEEDBACK! First and Foremost, CONGRATS BRENDAN FRASER!! This week, Brittan and Andrew Manzaro are talking about Darren Aronofsky's The Whale (2022). We break down the complex problems Charlie, a 600lb shut-in teacher, faces while trying to mend a broken relationship with his daughter, Ellie. Brendan Fraser's transformative performance as Charlie secured him the Best Actor Academy Award this year. Hong Chau was also nominated for a supporting role for Liz. We both really enjoyed this movie, the very relevant and real problems it presents to the audience, and the powerful message of encouragement in the character of Charlie. Welcome back to another episode of Servin' Up Cinema -- albeit a long-lost one. This episode was recorded during the Oscars season in 2022. John Bucy is back in the guest chair, you may know him from the Knock at the Cabin episode. We had no idea that Will Smith would have a controversial moment at the Oscars. Afterward, we decided to shelve the episode until further notice. Well, it's 2023, so we thought it might as well be released now. Please enjoy a wonderful conversation and breakdown on King Richard, a phenomenal biopic on Richard Williams, the father of Venus and Serena. WE LOVE FEEDBACK! Welcome to 2023 and a new episode of Servin' Up Cinema! Brittan is joined by Andrew Arthur from the first RFR episode, and Andrew Manzaro, from The Batman episode, to talk about some of the best, and worst films of 2022. We fire off several recommendations to go to the theater to catch must-see films, streaming gems, and some films that you probably should avoid. We only have so much time, and we get off track, so forgive us if we miss some on your list. WE LOVE FEEDBACK! It's aliiiive!! Deep in the Foreshadow, the ever-dark lands of Once Upon a Time, lived Hogenstein, the infamous warthog scientist who invented “It's Alive No. 5!” Using this freaky formula, a lightning rod and a fierce thunderstorm, he and his loyal lab assistant, Lugo the bat, brought a super creature to life. Muahahaha! But wait…that's not what's so terrifying about this tale—the scariest part is when the creature goes out into the world alone to face his fears.PARENTS, TEACHERS AND HOMESCHOOLERS: This is our reimagining of the classic, “Frankenstein,” where facing one's fears is scarier than a spooky story. In our version, the creature goes out into the world on his own, tries things he has never tried before, and has the courage to never give up. He kept trying his best, even when the townspeople judged him before he had the chance to show them his big heart. There's tension in the Folktale Forest! Two friends clash over blueprints for Midge the Pidge's new birdhouse. As their issues begin to spiral out of control, they learn the legend of Pecos Bill – the rootinest-tootinest, roughest, toughest cowboy who tamed a tumultuous tornado and created the Grand Canyon. Yippee-ki-yay! The tall tale ultimately calms their chaos and carves a path towards a cordial compromise. PARENTS, TEACHERS AND HOMESCHOOLERS: This is our reimagining of the classic tall tale, “Pecos Bill and the Tornado.” In the story, two friends are working on a project and tensions build when they disagree. When both are unwilling to bend, their problem begins to spiral out of control into a much bigger issue. The larger-than-life tall tale teaches them the value of partnership, communication and meeting each other halfway. The ‘Yes And' game is when you listen to another person in your improv scene and agree with what they are saying—that's the ‘yes' part—and you use your own ideas to build on their thoughts—that's the ‘and' part. Will these best bro buddies help each other to safety when the bear barrels towards them in full bluster? A story of diving, discovery, and the Shark Lady! Fascinated by marine life as a child, Eugenie Clark grew to become a leading ichthyologist and changed the way scientists study ocean life. Throughout her career, she conducted 72 submersible dives, led more than 200 field expeditions, and pioneered the practice of underwater research through scuba diving. She cared deeply for sharks, swimming among them (and riding on the back of a 50-foot whale shark) in order to understand their behaviors. She inspired the public's curiosity, awe, and wonder, turning the tides on what we thought we knew about these misunderstood ocean creatures. Harumph! Why is a new neighbor making Mr. Redge's quills stand on end? Maybe his outlook will change after hearing the story of the pompous peacock who struts his fine feathers while prejudging the friendly crane. Will he connect with the crane's advice to stay open minded, or will he stand firm with his first fowl impression? PARENTS, TEACHERS AND HOMESCHOOLERS: This is our reimagining of the fable, “The Peacock and the Crane.” Seeing past the surface is the lesson of this story. Sometimes we tell ourselves that our value is only skin deep and it makes us feel insecure. We can also be too quick to cast judgments on others before we get to know them. A seafaring tale of daring do in a long dress and petticoats! At the young age of 15, Ida Lewis helped her father with his lighthouse keeper's duties on Lime Rock. She grew to become the small island's sole keeper responsible for protecting and guiding ships to safe harbor. Throughout her life, Ida fearlessly rowed her small skiff out in rough storms and icy waters to rescue people (and a sheep). She became famous after saving two drowning soldiers in a snowstorm and was named, “the bravest woman in America.” But the lighthouse, not the limelight, was where Ida Lewis found her lifelong happiness. “Question everything!” That's Rapunzel's motto. The princess from Mythdom breaks all fairy tale stereotypes when she tells the story that her time in the tower was for scientific innovation and experimentation. Her patented, three-step, hair strengthening system could win her a STEM scholarship! Can she shimmy down the tower's trellis and make her way through the peat bog path to get to the science fair in time? It's the Folktale Forest's annual Diamond Pitch Pennant! Mr. Redge is upset that his team, the Woodland Wonders, lost their first game. He's sure that he alone is the reason his team is known as the understory underdogs. After worrying that the forest creatures don't respect him, Mr. Wolf exits his cave at sunset and is surprised by his new fearsome and formidable shadow. Feeling large and in charge for the first time, he struts about declaring he's now the forest's fiercest foe! It takes the setting sun and one small sparrow to break his illusion, and help him realize he's already admired for being his authentic ol' softy self.PARENTS, TEACHERS AND HOMESCHOOLERS: This is our retelling of the fable “The Wolf and His Shadow” with a self-acceptance message. The lesson is that your worth is not measured by your outward appearances, so you don't need to pretend to be someone you're not so others will like and respect you. Believe in yourself and take pride in who you are. Is Anybody Watching 11.22.63 - The Rabbit Hole Sometimes the past doesn't want to be changed! School teacher Jake Epping, (James Franco), travels back in time to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy, thinking that the world would have been a better place had Kennedy not been killed. However, he finds that easier said than done due to a myriad of obstacles and misfortunes, most notably, the past itself. Jake quickly learns that the past pushes back against being changed. Episode 1 of 11.22.63 - The Rabbit Hole The premier episode hooked us right in. We are all glad we decided to give this show a watch. We start off discussing the J.J. Abrams connection (Bryan Burke) and other familiar faces. Kevin J. O'Connor Chris Cooper Leon Rippey James Franco Onto our first tangent lamenting the loss of several TV shows cancelled the week of this recording. (Castle being the one Miranda is most upset about) We discuss the merits of Harry's A+ grade on his story, Al and Ziggy's Diner, and the Yellow Card Man's creepy vibe (ala Fringe's observers). Al goes from zero to dead in 2 minutes. Time traveler's rules for success #1 EMPTY YOUR POCKETS and change clothes first! Rule #2: Test the waters, reset, return making adjustments to the plan. It's an interesting way to "learn" about history racial discrimination gender discrimination politics of the 60's conspiracy theories The past fights back via the phone booth, the car crash, the restaurant, flirty women, people having sex in restaurants, and burning houses (and kids). Time to go to Kentucky and perhaps right a smaller wrong the past may not care as much about. Enter Josh Duhamel as Frank Dunning Just a sweet ol' guy trying to take his kids out for some ice cream... With a creepy grin to let us know he's not such a good guy! We Love Feedback! Is Anybody Watching Into The Badlands: Hand of Five Poisons In a world without guns, fighting is an art! Into The Badlands on AMC stars Daniel Wu as a one of the most lethal Clippers killing for his Baron, and Aramis Knight as a young boy with more power than he may realize. They search for enlightenment in a ruthless and bloody territory controlled by feudal barons. Season One-Episode Five of Into the Badlands: Hand of Five Poisons In the Season One Finale, we are left wanting more. A lot was left open ended! Thankfully we know there is a season 2. The opening sequence shows Sunny on his bike rolling down the road, not the only bookend to the opening scene from episode 1. 3:25 He's off to play "head games" with the River King 2:38 We knew it wouldn't be MK's head in there, it was Bale's. (NOT AN OFFICIAL TANGENT: Batman) 4:30 Penrith's messenger finds the Abbots and they hop in their ol' Ford pickup truck, after grabbing a trunk of course. 5:55 Jade and Lydia have a brief discussion before Jade's plan comes to fruition. Ryder gives Lydia a going away present. 11:15 Jade tells Quinn she needs to tell him something about Ryder. What is it? It must have been about the coup, since he goes to the brothel without any protection except MK. 13:38 Miranda's ready to talk chocolate abs, but is put on hold... 17:34 The actor playing Quinn (Marton Csokas) was in a pic from @IntoTheBadlands that made us realize how good of an actor he is because WE HATE HIM but he's really just a guy. Sunny gets captured and put on display (FOR MIRANDA) He's called to the chapel for a speech from Quinn and subsequently surrounded. Could he not fight his way out? He's fought out of worse situations. 19:40 Vail also was a bit disappointing in this episode. 20:51 Lydia too! What happened to Woman Power? 22:56 It turns out Sunny had his own pendent when Waldo found him. 27:30 Do he and the widow have the "darkness" or the "power"? Why can't they trigger it? Tilda: Which tincture will she choose? Final Fight Scene(s) of the season. Sonny gets his man (and one last tatoo) Was it a deathblow? Who will be season 2's main baddie? Ryder, River King, someone else? We feel like we missed out on some cool fight scenes. Is Zephyr dead? What about Jacobee? Ryder scampers away, Monk (aka Abbot) fight scene was the payoff. Back in the box for MK. A Princess Bride reference: (our first, and only, OFFICIAL tangent) The ending quote and our interpretation... 52:10 Season 2 of Into the Badlands will air in 2017. We'll definitely be discussing that when it returns. In the meantime, Season 2 of Is Anybody Watching will begin in a couple of weeks. Is Anybody Watching Into The Badlands: Snake Creeps Down In a world without guns, fighting is an art! Into The Badlands on AMC stars Daniel Wu as a one of the most lethal Clippers killing for his Baron, and Aramis Knight as a young boy with more power than he may realize. They search for enlightenment in a ruthless and bloody territory controlled by feudal barons. Season One-Episode Five of Into the Badlands: Snake Creeps Down So who is the snake? Quinn? He's definitely a CREEP for the way he blamed Sunny for the death Veil's parents. What's his long term plan? Tangent Number 1: Is it "Bae" or "Bai" and WHY? Opening fight not bloody enough, but it was a dream, after all. Let's us in on Sunny's Fears Find's a way to use the book and the compass (FINALLY) Laura has a great theory on what Azra may be Lydia's Dad, Penrith, played by Lance Henriksen FTW! Aliens, Millennium, and Pumpkinhead to name only a few of his acting credits. Pinrith and his band of elders know more about Azra and MK's ability than they let Ryder know. BTW, Ryder is still creepier than Quinn. Tangent time: Game of Thrones book, vs. Audiobooks, vs. TV Show MK has a heart to heart with Sunny about his "Dark Side" Tilda saves the day MK still has teflon skin How can the Widow translate the book? What's her Rosetta Stone? Does MK really die a little each time he transforms? What/Who are the Nomads and what's up with the Totem Smashers? Lydia and Jade work the poppy fields together with the Clippers. A brief google search was required to understand poppy harvesting. Quinn has an episode in front of his people. Lydia continues to impress us. Jeff was completely oblivious to Jade's plan Our current feelings about Waldo MK now has ablutophobia Sonny's sweet move springs the traps (all but one, apparently) RIP Admiral Ackbar James has a tender moment, Jeff cancels it out. 47:03 Meanwhile back at the fort... 51:03 Tilda gets "the chair" Is she "faking it" If you're gonna fight, do it in the weapons room Reminding us of this Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon scene How will season one end? What does next season look like? Quantum Leap makes us leery of crappy endings! Thoughts and theories can be submitted via the feedback links list below the transcript. We Love Feedback! Is Anybody Watching Into The Badlands: Two Tigers Subdue Dragons In a world without guns, fighting is an art! Into The Badlands on AMC stars Daniel Wu as a one of the most lethal Clippers killing for his Baron, and Aramis Knight as a young boy with more power than he may realize. They search for enlightenment in a ruthless and bloody territory controlled by feudal barons. Season One-Episode Four of Into the Badlands: Two Tigers Subdue Dragons http://www.amc.com/shows/into-the-b... Tangent Numero Uno: Dead Seven on SyFy: Zombies, Cowboys, and Boy Bands...OH MY! Where is all the blood and gore we're used to in the opening sequence? The Widow is on the move. New Show Idea: CSI: Badlands MK is learning how to fight (sort of) Tangent # 2 for those keeping score: Chocolate Abs in High School Love On Jacobee is a no show on making a deal. The Butterfly house is kind of a dump. Zero fun and NO (white girl) dancing for the girls. Thilda was raped by the widow's husband, that's why she had lady clippers 'cause #Ladypower! #SquadGoals We are finally and most definitely for sure that “sisters” are not sister by blood Wedding decoration squabbles There are NO SECRETS in the Badlands Vale is treating Quinn... or killing him... hard to say. MK was about to cut himself to help train but backs off. MK is Pigpen Sunny makes a poor choice cutting MK Yet another Attack on Titan reference; the live action trailer is very Badlands like. Quinn wants Ryder to go out and accept the parlay and set terms. It's a Parlay Party Awkward girl talk between father and son. Pendant shaped hole in the book. Ryder wants to make his own deal with Jacobee Zephyr's #ManPosse and a brief clothing discussion Odd choice for a secret signal? The River King is looking stylish Should we trust #WheelchairWaldo? Quinn had more than one wife already, but Lydia is the one to be feared. Meeting between Jacobee and Quinn... about as bloody as can be expected from this show MK Controlled his bloodlust with Thilda. He's been VERY VERY bad in his past. Ryder finds himself with Zephyr and the Widow instead of with Jacobee. Makes a deal with the SHEdevil. River King. Pimp (and Vincent Price Doppleganger?) Yet another tangent; clothing, weapons, the metric system, and the NBA. We Love Feedback! This week, Miranda, James, Laura, and Jeff discuss NBC's Heroes Reborn – Chapter 12 - Company Woman We got the news this week that this would be the only season of Heroes Reborn. Even though we were told it was a one off mini-series from the beginning, we had hoped that if it pulled in good ratings, they'd renew it. We get the H.E.L.E. explanation, but too little, too late in Jeff's Opinion. (Which can be said for most of the series) Will Matt meet his maker in the river? Ren holds the key to level 10. Emily seems like a totally wasted character, that has zero regard for her parents well being! Ashes to ashes, Joanne is DUST! We all LOVED how Luke took care of his wifey! A fire/trash tornado blows through Union Well H.S. gymnasium. Phoebe escapes and Quentin turns, again. Laura is hoping for the return of QRG! We have 2 voicemails this week, one from Lucy and Parker in Indiana (unfortunately it gets cut short), and another from Susan in Wisconsin (apparently a big fan of James, aka Ray), which also gets cut short. The link requested is Critical Role. We also get an email from one of our winners, AlienJL, who is also a James fan. Everybody Loves James. Company Man was a better episode than Company Woman. Erica's backstory was interesting and much needed info, but a rape story seemed like an easy way out. It had so much potential but didn't deliver. Contest: Laura has chosen the winners over the Hiatus, so thank you to all of those reviews and ratings posted. We really appreciate the support and feedback. This week, Miranda, James, Laura, and Jeff discuss NBC's Heroes Reborn – Chapter 11 - Send in the Clones Congratulations to James and Laura for their engagement during the hiatus! To celebrate they watched 144 hours of a YouTube D&D channel. None of us seemed to miss Heroes during the Hiatus, but we did all enjoy this episode. Except James was upset he lost one of his favorite characters, Harris Prime. It was a very cool death battle scene. Erica's "I'm Crushing Your Head" scene didn't play to well, which leads is off into a Kids in the Hall tangent. Jeff continues to knit-pick things...i.e. Grunny's over acting, and Zach's shave job. Does Matt have a chance to redeem himself, or is he too far gone? As pretty as Carlos was, he and Farrah seemed a tad awkward. We really liked the backstory for him, but why did they wait so long to tell it? We also think that Jose seemed to be up to something. (Emily, too, for that matter) Phoebe has completely gone off the rails! But she's definitely mastered the cool factor of her power. The Holy Smoke goes up in smoke, but at least he died a hero's death. And Micah makes his reappearance showing that Mohinder was not Mohinder. The address of Isaac's old loft is almost real. Luke works on his redemption skills and saves the day, but why are they bringing along the cargo? Tommy's comic is telling HIS story now. We see that he's not as stupid as we may have thought. What's up with "The Chair"? We look ahead to the next episode called "Company Woman" and give our thoughts, theories, and predictions about it. Can't get enough Miranda? Catch her on another podcast; The TV Rewind Podcast. Contest: Laura has chosen the winners over the Hiatus, so thank you to all of those reviews and ratings posted. This week, Miranda, James, Laura, and Jeff ask Hiro to send us back to November 23, 2009 so we can discuss NBC's Heroes – Season 4, Chapter 10, Thanksgiving. We're looking for some voicemail feedback on how you feel about Heroes Reborn. We haven't heard from some of you in a while and we're curious as to how you are liking, or not liking, the show. Call us: 346-202-HERO (4376). This was Jeff's choice for our Heroes Rewind discussion. His reason? Laura said pick a weird one and this one certainly qualifies! Plus, he loves Darth Maul! Less than 3 minutes in and we have our first tangent...must be some kind of a record. All the talk about pie reminded Jeff about Pushing Daisies starring Lee Pace. This episode had us all fairly confused. It was definitely NOT a standalone episode. This week we dug out the actual recap segment from our Original Heroescast Podcast as recorded by Kim. Samuel discovers his true potential in terms of his ability. Because we don't remember, we hypothesize that he must have sent Hiro back in time to retrieve the film, since we thought Joseph had destroyed it. We also discuss Hiro's naiveté being one of the things we didn't like in the original run. Since this isn't a standalone episode, we really never recalled what Samuel's plan was and, in trying to explain it, probably made it more confusing :) HRG goes shopping Fonzarelli style and "accidentally" runs into Lauren. James is very pleased since he's a big fan of Elisabeth Rohm. This takes us on another quick tangent regarding Carey Mulligan (aka Sally Sparrow) from Doctor Who. We continue trying to recall or speculate who and what some of the characters in this episode were; namely Gretchen and the girl that tried to kill her (Becky). Which takes another tangent into House of Lies on Showtime, since Lydia plays Don Cheadle's ex-wife on that show. Which takes us down the path of Jean-Ralphio. Which ties back into the Fonz and finally ends up with Ash vs. Evil Dead. WHAT? That's how confused we were with this episode. Once we get back on track, we discuss the Dysfunctional Bennett family's dinner. And just like that, we're off again talking about Carnivale, Prison Break, and Fremont, Ohio. Sylar/Nathan bring some real story back to the episode which clears everything right up. (NOT) Samuel finds a scapegoat for Joseph's death in Edgar since Hiro won't rat him out in order to save Charlie. In summary: Don't try to watch this episode on its own unless you completely remember all the bits and pieces of season 4. Thanks for all the reviews. Stay tuned to find out if you are a winner of Heroes Swag. We LOVE Feedback! This week, Miranda, James, Laura, and Jeff ask Hiro to send us back to December, 2008 so we can discuss NBC's Heroes – Season 3, Chapter 12, Our Father. We're looking for some voicemail feedback on how you feel about Heroes Reborn. We haven't heard from some of you in a while and we're curious as to how you are liking, or not liking, the show. Call us: 346-202-HERO (4376). This was Laura's choice for our Heroes Rewind discussion. Her reason? Sylar covered in blood, of course. James now understands why Laura has been such a huge Sylar fan :) Mini Hiro makes Miranda happy, and the scene when adult Hiro sees his mom before she dies was a very emotionally touching moment for us. James was really drawn into the show by watching this episode. We all seem to feel that the writing from the original series, and this particular episode especially, is why we liked the series so much, and may be why we're a bit disappointed in the new series. James' thoughts on his first Peter exposure; He was a bit underwhelmed and wasn't what he expected based on how Laura had discussed him in the past. That was probably due to Peter not having "power" at this juncture in the storyline. But as an isolated episode, he experienced a full gamut of emotions. The Haitian seems to have more of a major part than what we remembered. And we really like the fact that the original series did a lot of callback to character names, and story situations. This is something else we feel is lacking in Heroes Reborn. We look a bit ahead because we're trying to remember what the entire story is with, Nikki, Jessica, and Tracy (and Barbara?). Mohinder has a flesh eating virus, so he is the perfect choice to send in to give a soldier an experimental vaccination. The universe doesn't implode as Claire holds herself. Thanks for all the reviews. Stay tuned to find out if you are a winner of Heroes Swag. We LOVE Feedback! This week, Miranda, James, Laura, and Jeff ask Hiro to send us back to February, 2006 so we can discuss NBC's Heroes – Season 1, Chapter 17, The Company Man. This was an interesting episode as it was more centered on a few of the "Heroes" instead of all of them. In fact, was the first episode that Masi Oka isn't in, although his character is. Ted Sprague is NOT Eric Christian Olson or the Neanderthal Man from the old insurance commercials. We all seem to agree that watching the original run episodes has made us want to watch them all again. They seem to do what the new series hasn't yet, which is make us WANT to watch the next episode. The Doctor Who Connection: Christopher Eccleston and Eric Roberts have both been in some type of Doctor Who incarnation. Christopher Eccelston was the 9th Doctor for the 2005 reboot, and Eric Roberts was in the 1996 "movie". James liked "The Little Haitian" and we were surprised by how many times the Half Helix kept showing up. Jeff is alone (as usual) in thinking that Missy Peregryme's character, Candice, looked like Erica's Daughter, Taylor. But that's not as bad as Miranda forgetting that George Takei was Hiro's dad!!! And thanks go to Laura for letting us in on this little Easter Egg. Our final thoughts on "Company Man": Laura was a bit disappointed since it wasn't a full cast episode. James thought it was 90% better than what we've been watching on Thursdays. Jeff and Miranda really enjoyed it, in fact so much that they both wanted to immediately watch the next Heroes episode "Parasite" to find out what happens, and maybe even the first full season. Be sure to VOTE for which episode you'd like us to discuss on our last hiatus episode. You can do that HERE Contest: Laura will choose winners on December 12th, 2015, so there's still a bit more time to get those reviews and ratings posted. We really appreciate the support and feedback. We LOVE Feedback! This week, Miranda, James, Laura, and Jeff discuss NBC's Heroes Reborn – Chapter 10 - 11:53 to Odessa. So right off the bat, Laura is not happy with the so called "hiatus" episode. But Miranda doesn't care since she got her some Ren and Miko, and Jeff continues to try and throw logic into the mix! James is a Hiatus NEWB and feels that if he were just a casual fan, he'd probably not be back to see how it all ends. Matt Parkman brings new meaning to the phrase "giving you the stink eye" Janice and Matty Jr. are out there somewhere, but are they part of anyone's plan? Whatever Erica's plan is, we all agree that no one should trust her? Is Phoebe dying by using her power all the time? If so, what effect will this have on Quentin? With Erica trapped in the future, who's in charge? - Harris Army (Harrisses, Harri???) The Scientist? Apparently Harris is a good tipper, and it shows: And we see more easter egg nods to the original series, plus a funny Brit. Micah is back...well, sort of. And still no explanation on how the Haitian is alive, because what would an episode of Heroes Reborn be without some mind achingly wibble wobbley timey wimey stuff??? A quick shout out and thanks to @PrimatechFiles for the heads up on the reason the story jumps 7957 years into the future. Thank you to Jeff in Massachusetts for the voicemail. He gives his theory on Matt's power and what he's doing as Sunstone Manor. Carlos (aka Prince Charming) is trying to redeem himself. Why is HRG so distrustful of Luke? And who saved HRG? The Hero Truther group goes in to find Micah, but doesn't really try. If a Shogun Warrior strolls through an internet cafe, does anyone see it? Is Ren a construct? We all agree that it would have been better to binge watch this series. Contest: Laura will choose winners over the Hiatus, so thank you to all of those reviews and ratings posted. We really appreciate the support and feedback. We LOVE Feedback! This week, Miranda, James, Laura, and Jeff discuss NBC's Heroes Reborn – Chapter 9 - Sundae, Bloody Sundae. We welcome Laura back, safe and almost sound, from her trip to Europe. She left Paris just 24 hours before the tragedy occurred. Our thoughts go out to all those affected. Joanne's day at Moe's didn't include a Duff's Ice Cream Sundae, but maybe it should have because she is obviously CRAY CRAY. Caspar (the Friendly Pennyman) Abraham meets his maker and Tommy meets his sister, sort of; oh and by the way, Tommy's girlfriend is too "vanilla". Matt Parkman, the Mayor of Happytown USA, err... the director of Sunstone Manor, has become quite a JERK. He let's you pick your poison, in Carlos' case, "mind bullets", but Miranda's not giving up hope on her hero cop. Katana Girl is alive, but it's 7957 years in the future. And in case you're wondering as we were, 7+9+5+7 is the perfect number 28 (we get quick math lesson from James) and 7957 + 2015 = 9972 which is years 8000 years after the Irish Bloody Sunday massacre. What do all those numbers mean? Probably nothing, but if you have thoughts, send 'em in. Joe in Tennessee did via the HERO Hotline. He reminds us of the importance of 11:53 in the last episode and how Quentin ended up in the right place at the right time. Did Hiro live through the sword fight against all those Harris guns in order to be "Parkmaned" for information? Ugly Red Wig Girl: Taylor's "disguise" just doesn't make the grade. Alias red vs. Heroes Reborn Red: Whatd'ya think? Rene', the Haitian, is no longer dead, he's leading the Hero Truther group. Miranda's Alphas reference: And this is for James: Erica conveniently keeps a rifle in the pantry, but apparently not one good butcher knife anywhere. So perhaps it's best to be butchering the venison with a herring. Especially because there's enough venison for the "Very Harris Thanksgiving" holiday special. What's the connection between Carlos, Matt, and Farrah? Who cares when you can see Carlos' abs? A hiatus is coming...will this be good or bad for their numbers? Brief tangent :) Zachary Quinto in Hitman: Agent 47 Contest Update: Laura will choose winners over the Hiatus, so if you want to be entered in the chance to win some Heroes swag, get your iTunes or Stitcher reviews posted by Friday, November 20th.
