Welcome to the LIVEforward Institute Living Room Conversations! Our guest, Patrick Fransen: "I am Patrick and for 35 years I specialised myself in not being myself, which was quite a painful experience. This resulted in, among others, a national windsurf championship, an engineering degree, building a management consulting company and selling it for a multi-million amount to a large multinational. Despite these perceived successes I remained burdened with an unfulfilled, empty feeling. The insight that I was pursuing an outside illusion instead of the higher purpose that is running through me, made me shift radically to a conscious, purpose driven mission to create a business world where everyone can be 100% themselves, where entrepreneurs create massive positive impact on society without sacrificing on their personal life nor on company profitability. At www.Pebblewave.be we are creating an ecosystem of companies where the leaders have heartfelt chosen to go this path. If you are an entrepreneur and want to know how you can realise your purpose this way, connect and we'll figure it out together."We have seen the catalytic power of conversations in the work that we do, as well as the impact that it brings to our world. Our guest, Frederic Laloux is the author of the book Reinventing Organizations, which took three years to research. It has not only become a global bestseller but is also considered by many to be the most influential management book of the decade, inspiring countless organizations to adopt radically more soulful and purposeful management practices. This is probably one of the biggest inspirations for the founding of LIVEsciences. Laloux has said, “There's something that is transformative about these new management practices that they also fundamentally change the nature of the business itself, and the nature of society...” The book has turned into a movement, with many organizations in many different industries deciding to make the leap to “teal”. After the phenomenal success of the book, Laloux didn't rest on his laurels – he launched a series of 130 videos titled, “Insights for the Journey” that builds on the book and focuses on the question, “how can existing, traditionally-run organizations make the leap?” There's not much we can say about him that hasn't been said before, but we will say that we're all excited to hear about his bold and innovative new project – The Week. We're extremely honored to have Frederic Laloux as our very special LIVING ROOM CONVERSATIONS guest, hosted by Timm Urschinger. He was sure that hierarchy did not bring any happiness to people, but also, he had never been able to convince himself that it was the absolute management style for successful organizations. As a result, he believed in the necessity of transitioning to the “self-management”. And as the start of this change, he fired Latro's Boss, who was himself, and removed the central power! While this non-bureaucratic space of freedom allows individuals to enjoy self-discovery and realize themselves freely, the collective management and decision-making mechanism improve the confidence of co-experiencing this journey as a team. This management model removes all obstacles to an individual's self-expression, inherently extending support in the personal development journey. This structure strongly emphasizes “creativity” and makes “innovation” the most powerful element of its culture. So who is Haluk now? A self-fired ex-boss, one of the Explorers of Latro, a person who is freer, happier, more creative, more innovative and a lot more beneficial to the company and to community.Stay tuned for our next Living Room Conversations.
