Another point for the interim management team with a battling 0-0 draw at a freezing cold Stoke City. A record-fast time for the game review, but plenty of praise for a spirited performance and for peripheral players stepping up to the plate.Given local press at the time of recording, focus turns to the consideration of a previous Argyle legend for the vacant head coach position. Excitement builds for a record signing, sadness is expressed at the departure of one of the best signings of recent times, and quick thank-yous are given to Andre Gray for his service in difficult circumstances. Finally, an international theme features in a quick and challenging quiz.Join Alex, Archie, and Chris in what looks likely to be the pod before the storm.Any contribution towards running costs is always welcome:https://ko-fi.com/pilgrimspodcast Hosted on Acast. Welcome to a brand new episode of the ¿Quién Tú Eres? podcast, where we explore the conflict we often face between "professionalism" & being our authentic selves. This week's guest is Andre Gray.  Andre Gray is a native San Franciscan who's been all over the world. As an executive director, his goal is to tell stories that move people and make people think, whether that's through a documentary on YouTube or a teacup. He says that to put culture and historically excluded people first, you must build environments where everyone can be heard. He also states that this is the most exciting time in the history of ads because today ads can be anything. His client list includes Gatorade, Las Vegas Visitors, Adidas, and more. He's won awards from the Cannes Lions, D&AD, and One Show.  In this week's episode, Andre shares his experience learning how to be his most authentic self no matter where he is in the world. From playing college soccer to going to working in French agencies where there “is no racism,” Andre has had to find himself again and again. And he's also had to learn how to keep himself safe while doing it.  Follow Andre on:  Website: https://www.andreggray.com/  Instagram: @andreggray LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/andreggray/  Follow Pabel on: Website: https://plurawl.com/  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/plurawl/  TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@plurawl  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/pabelmartinez/  Join our Personal Self-Discovery Coach App's Waitlist here! After some short technical difficulties Pete says that he didn't think we hit the highs, or the lows of the Norwich game and Rich disagrees calling it the best and most complete 90 minute performance all the better for the quality of the opposition, Uncle Ron joins us to confirm his change of heart in relation to Jake Livermore but sees Hamer's performance and calmness as a reason why Bachmann should not get the shirt again. John Takanade joins us from Dubai where their winter is not quite Hull standard but still felt the warmth from the performance but raises concerns over the depth of the squad and potential injuries. and the AFCON coming up in January! Pete is impressed with Rajovic's hold up play, but John warns that it mustn't be at the expense of what he does inside of the penalty box (John even brings up Trevor Senior and Andre Gray as examples of strikers who worked hard but failed to hit the net enough).Jack joins us from the US with a sore throat which doesn't stop him acclaiming Ryan Porteous who put in a very solid performance following a good showing against Norwich (after that initial 25-minute period).John Parslow, taking a short afternoon break from Backgammon in order to watch the game and dance around the living room with his dad, and praises a cameo performance from Tom Ince who along with a defensive adjustment negated the threat of Hull's Jaden. Furthermore, John points out that another player enjoying an up turn in his performances – Kayembe may be lost for January with the upcoming AFCON tournament.Wendover is in a musical mood accompanied by Colin warmed by heated seats and 3 points and the fact that they are on the Watford FC website this evening. EP33 Should Xisco Stay Or GoIt's a sad state of affairs to even be debating whether another Watford manager should be asked to leave, but the football on the pitch has been quite simply, dreadful. And... it's not just us who've noticed it either. Therefore we need to at the very least propose this question and ask ourselves what the rights and wrongs about keeping The Spaniard are. Also on the show, Andre Gray's interview. Did it make you change your feelings towards him? Did it make you dislike him further? Did it do nothing either way? We'll tell you what we thought...And.. Watford have a new signing... or do they? Well its not announced at time of going to print, but we think yes they do and we think its a new left back called Achraff Lazaar. Joining me on the show are football analyst Jordan Weimer and football journalist Tom Bodell. As always please let us know what you think and share the pod so that other Watford fans can hear us ramble on haha. God can redeem our story.” “As a leader, I want to be supportive of the people I’m leading. I don’t want to use people to get tasks done. I want to use tasks to get people done.” “Anyone going into leadership for the very first time needs to relentlessly commit to the development of their character and learn to lead with all humility.” RESOURCES MENTIONED Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink Leadership as an Identity by Crawford W. It has become something of a received wisdom within the present day that the mainstream media exist as the pinnacle of what is possible in sports journalism. Whilst it is not in our interest to reject this assumption, here at A Team of John O’Sheas we believe that some of the most perceptive insight regarding the top teams in the country comes from the fans themselves. In the course of this podcast series, we will be bringing together some of the most influential fans from across the Premier League to give you the low-down on the teams that they watch week in, week out. We’ll look back over the season just gone, try to get a handle on the transfer activity that rumbles on through the summer month, and look forwards to the next season which, as always, seems to creep up on us with ever increasing speed. In this episode, we’re heading North to the home of one of the oldest football clubs in the United Kingdom. Formed in 1882, Burnley Football Club were one of the original 12 clubs in the football league, going on to win the first division on a couple of occasions. Since then, however, they have had more downs than ups and, at one point during the 1980s, they were in danger of falling out of the football league altogether. Since then, they have been slowly making their way back to the top, becoming a yo-yo club which has, in the last season, managed to maintain a consecutive place in the Premier League for the first time in its history. Is this it then? Have they made the Premier League their rightful place for the time being? Or is it just a matter of time before they drop back down into the second tier? Joining us on the show today is Natalie Bromley, who is, amongst other things, a poker player, a lawyer and a self-confessed ‘feisty Claret’. She is also one of the main contributors for the sole podcast dedicated to Burnley Football Club, the No Nay Never podcast . No Nay Never began life in 2010 as a blog, open for any Burnley fan to write about any viewpoint. Three years later, a podcast was added which soon proved to be a hit amongst Burnley fans. Always pushing the boundaries, in October 2016 No Nay Never published their first special podcast exploring LGBT attitudes and representation in football, in response to Andre Gray’s ban for homophobic tweets.

In the inaugural Not The Top 20 pod, your heroes measure the success of Burnley and Middlesbrough, and worry a little about their Premier League adaptability. Hotshot Championship strikers Jordan Rhodes and Andre Gray are analysed - how will they cope with the Premier League's defences? The play-off teams are previewed and the finalists predicted - there's £150m+ at stake for the teams and pride at stake for Ali & George. Finally, the boys give their eulogies for Bolton, MK Dons and Charlton, but feel (mostly) positive about their League 1 prospects. 159: Beesotted take on Talksport's Adrian Durham about James Tarkowski

Dave Lane from Brentford blog Beesotted rang up Adrian Durham on Talksport to take him up on his latest article in the Daily Fail - condoning James Tarkowski's stance to refuse to play for Brentford against Burnley - dubbed #Husky-Gate "James Tarkowski was RIGHT to refuse to play for Brentford against Burnley... why should he try and take points off a team he wants to join and win promotion with?" - Durham Listen for yourself. You will hear Durham comes up with the most simplistic theories for things that are not quite that straight forward. He constantly refers to stats - obviously unaware that stats are not the only way of Brentford identifying (key word that) players as they also use traditional means. He fails to mention that using stats to identify possibly new targets is actually more widespread in the league that one may think. Even Arsenal (the team of which Durham is proudly wearing the shirt) have actually bought outright a football stat company Stat DNA (http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/oct/17/arsenal-place-trust-arsene-wenger-army-statdna-data-analysts) - only that story is not so interesting for Durham. He also keeps banging on about how Brentford 'sacked' Mark Warburton (we won't even dwell on that … its old hat …. and not quite correct) - whereas only two years ago he was lambasting Warburton and the system he was using for creating a side with two many loan players - LoanFord (http://bit.ly/1V5bzAy). He bangs on about loyalty. And why should Tarkowski show loyalty to an owner who showed a previous manager no loyalty? Quite frankly that is a gibberish argument. Surely you should show loyalty to your team mates and also fans who pay your wages. Never mind having some values and … manners. The saddest thing is ... as an Arsenal fan who occasionally finds himself down at Peterboro .. Durham doesn't seem to understand the concept of a player being contracted to one team .. being paid by that one team ... and then playing for that team week in an week out because that is what he is paid to do. The irony (or should we say hypocrisy) of the Daily Fail lambasting the junior doctors for striking but then condoning a footballer for doing exactly the same thing is quite frankly laughable. The parallel would be TalkSport giving him Durham a 3 year contract .. then the BBC trying to headhunt him (fat chance .. but you get the drift) .. Talksport knocking them back as the BBC refused to pay the remaining years of his contract … and Durham then sulking and refusing to do his show. Ironically, Andre Gray - who Durham was only too happy to chirp on about being signed by Burnley - was subject to a £6m plus bid by Bristol City a few weeks before his move to the North East. He looked all set to move to City. However, he still played against them at Ashton Gate and even scored. His theory that Tarkowski may not have wanted to help his new team (Burnley) to win while playing for the team he is contracted to (Brentford) - even though a deal is far from being done - is quite frankly laughable. And makes you think - why have we spent so much time trying to pick holes in his argument. We will be discussing this plus much more on the Beesotted PrideOfWest.London podcast this week so subscribe on itunes with this link http://bit.ly/BeesottedItunes #BrentfordFC #BurnleyFC #posh
