What she uncovered through that journey, led to the TEDx Talk; Welcome To My New Normal, and centers around the idea: If I Am Not My Body, Who Am I? - when that which defines you is gone.Jannica's journey with Alopecia also inspired the one-woman show; (IM)PERFEKT which had its world premiere at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June 2019 to sold-out houses and took home the Producers's Encore Award; the Critics' Choice Award and the Audience Choice Award, as well as a nomination for The Diverse Diva Award by The Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival. (IM)PERFEKT has been invited to perform twice at Santa Monica Playhouse, and at the 28th annual Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival. Jannica received a BroadwayWorld Regional Theatre Award nomination in 2020 for Performer of The Decade and Production Of The Decade. Southern California-based alternative rock band Weathers - lead singer/frontman Cameron Boyer, guitarist Cameron Olsen, bassist Brennan Bates, and dummer Cole Carson - have been consistently creating finely crafted introspective pop songs heavily inspired by the counterculture of the 80s and 90s since forming in 2015. The band makes music that speaks to those among us who tend to forget that, regardless of outward appearances, everyone is struggling with something and that no one is alone. We had the pleasure of interviewing Weathers over Zoom video! Vocalist Cameron Boyer, guitarist Cameron Olsen, bassist Brennen Bates, and drummer Cole Carson create finely crafted, introspective pop songs heavily inspired by the alternative culture of the 80s, 90s and 00s. The band came together in 2015, largely through social media. Boyer and Bates met through a Facebook message responding to a post searching for a bassist. Carson auditioned through videos on YouTube, after an intro from Boyer's father, who had played in a band with his dad when they were in High School. Olsen came aboard through a local battle of the bands.RCA records debuted the first Weathers music in 2016, including the song “Happy Pills”, which was the most added song on alternative radio on its impact date, receiving the most adds for a new artist in the 2010s and peaking at No. 21 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. To date “Happy Pills” has been streamed more than sixty million times. Following the success of “Happy Pills”, the band released the 2018 album Kids in the Night, for which they co-wrote and worked with a who's who of the newest generation of prominent producers and songwriters including Tim Pagnotta (Walk The Moon, Neon Trees), Kyle Moorman (P!nk, Andy Grammar, Elle King) and Drew Pearson (Switchfoot, Ke$ha), to name a few.In 2019 the band released a string of singles written and co-produced with many of the same collaborators. These songs brim with bright melodies, insistent hooks, and potent rhythmic energy. The material felt custom-made to be sung at the top of your lungs while barreling down the highway. The boys are gearing up to release their long awaited sophomore album 'Pillows & Therapy' this August and recently released the third single from the project. The new song, "Rehab", is an alt-rock war cry depicting the inner battle of trying to break free from a toxic relationshipIn support of their recent releases, Weathers have been on the road supporting bands such as Cage the Elephant, Jimmy Eat World, Dreamers, Palaye Royale, Badflower, Echosmith and Catfish & The Bottlemen, and playing festivals like Lollapalooza and Firefly. Surviving the Music Industry

Making it happen when an entire world is telling you it's not going to happen with Crowd Surf co-founder and co-host of the podcast "How I Got Backstage", Jade Driver. We talk about digital strategy and what's really popping in 2019. Social media marketing, crisis management, finding yourself as an artist, but most importantly we talk about mental health in the landscape of working in the industry.    The history of Jade has a pattern of making it happen and passion. I also found that Jade has been pretty true to herself. A true fan, passionate about her work, and no stopping her. Early in her career, working in radio promotions, she met what would be her future clients. From there Warner Bros. came calling because of a revolutionary idea that Jade was already doing. Using social media as a tool for the music industry. In the time of Myspace's zenith, Jade and her team focused on capitalizing the platform to push their clients further in their careers. Soon Crowd Surf was born. Crowd Surf is a fan-centric marketing company, with offices in LA, Nashville and NYC, which specializes in entertainment marketing, artist management, digital strategy, content production, publicity and digital crisis management. Clients include Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Why Don't We, Andy Grammar, AJR, NCT-127, Becky G, Loren Gray, Michael Buble, Max & Harvey, Jenna Raine and EBEN.    In our conversation, we chat about our brands and how to utilize that on social media. In the digital age of social media, how do you go that next level at no matter your current status? Then there's the trap of comparisons but no matter what sticking to who you are. There can be mental health concerns.  Jade and I connect on when and how to get help.    For more information about Crowd Surf visit  and subscribe to "How I Got Backstage" in your favorite podcast platform.

Sam stops by to bring me his new debut EP Not A Hobby and we play all 4 tracks off the project and chat about each one.  You aren't going to want to miss the live performance of "The City" at the end of the show as well.  Honestly, one of my favorites.  Just remember who introduced you to him first ;)    ABOUT SAM Growing up in the Northern suburbs of Sydney, Sam Fischer wrote his first song at the age of 12, a passion that led him to pursue a career in music during his teens and become formally trained in both the violin and saxophone. A degree program at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston soon followed, as did a move to Los Angeles where he dove head-first into the music scene working as a background vocalist with HOLYCHILD.  A prolific songwriter, Sam's talents led him to co-writes with DJ Mustard, Clean Bandit, Jennifer Hudson, Sabrina Claudio and Andy Grammar, among others, as well as a publishing deal with SONY/ATV Music Publishing.  2017 has seen Sam in various studios working on his debut album with top writers and producers including OAK, Fran Hall, Jaimie Hartman, Alex and Alex, and Alex Salibian to name a few .  His first, indie released single “Lean” debuted on StereoGum and has passed 275,000 streams on Spotify.  The Top music site raved: Fischer melds the R&B leanings of his smooth, tender vocals with pop craftsmanship for catchy, sultry grooves.
