On this episode, we talk with Klassic Frescobar. Klassik's blend of Jamaican Dancehall influence fused into Soca & Calypso sound is the perfect mix. His commanding high energy vocals with the sweet soca vibe creates a unique style that is radiant. Klassik Frescobar's musical influence began in the early ‘90s in his hometown of Kingston, Jamaica in the Constant Spring Gardens area. After getting a hold of his mother's cassette player and hearing early tunes from Bounty Killa, Sean Paul and Beanie Man his mind was committed to music. After migrating to the Bronx in New York, Klassik spent most of his time creating rap music but stayed close to his roots by attending local Dancehall parties. Throughout that time he built relationships with local DJs and producers including the Jamaican born Brooklyn native Ricky Blaze. In 2014 Klassik would migrate to Miami where he would work closely with Guyanese rapper Red Cafe who would introduce him to local DJs and party scenes. After hard work and deliberation Klassik made a name in the Miami Soca scene with records “Boom” , “Bee Sting” & “Chair” His current viral record "Looking Good" on the "Code Red Riddim", facilitated the #LookingGoodChallenge which garnered over three million Twitter and TikTok views respectively. The challenge promotes dancers from around the world to record themselves dancing to the song . Since then Klassik has released bigger records such as “Like Dat Remix” featuring GBM Nutron, “Whoopsy” featuring Boidingo and “Too Much” with Marzville.

We all know by now that Pacific Reggae is a thing, but after his first trip to Hawaii, Kahlil Wonda gained a whole new perspective.Cloaked in reggae's nirvana, Pacific Reggae is an INCREDIBLE musical treat. The genre has grown tremendously in the last few years and shows NO signs of slowing down!Post a trip to Maui in Hawaii, Kahlil realized the island's profound love for the genre of music - it was everywhere, right from their local radio to restaurants, and popular venues! In fact, the whole of the place supports reggae, making it the predominant music genre in Maui. The beat is slow and steady, but definitely pulsating. (Maui is an island in the Central Pacific, part of the Hawaiian archipelago.)In this episode of the Reggae Lover Podcast, Kahlil Wonda and Agard explore why Pacific Reggae is massive, and here to stay for longer than we can imagine! We also learn the nuances of Pacific music and the subtle elements that make it different from its contemporaries.   Ruth-Ann BROWN , Nakeeba Amaniyea, Nadine Queen  Ruth-Ann Brown was born in Jamaica, where she was surrounded by the influences of dancehall veterans such as King Yellowman, Josie Wales, and Jacob Miller.  Reggae was like a drug. I couldn't get enough,” Ruth recalls writing poems as a means of releasing her pent-up emotions. By the time she became a young adult, she began experimenting with writing songs to instrumentals made by friends. Her listeners have described her music as soul-touching, passionate, intense, deep, yet still as smooth, relaxing, tropical and warm. She credits Dennis Brown, The Cranberries and Sade as her greatest musical influences. Nakeeba Amaniyea. The daughter of Grammy nominated and international reggae pioneer, Sister Carol, demonstrated singing and songwriting talents as early as the age of 10. Nakeeba would sing and perform with her siblings on her parents' “Eastman Sound” in Flatbush, Brooklyn. The weekly showcases would attract both international and locally known artists to perform. She was selected by Noel Alphonso of Noni Musik to be the cornerstone of a new female hip-hop/reggae/R&B group. The group worked on a number of projects, including a modern remake of Althea and Donna's classic hit “Uptown Top Rankin”.  Nadine Queen born in Jamaica , she performed with the likes of Jamaican singer Richie Stephens...she has also (shared) the stage with most of the "Reggae greats" such as Luciano,Marcia Griffiths, Pappa San, Junior Murvin, Mr.Vegas, Buchaneer, Bounty Killa, Lady Saw, Frankie Paul,Professor Nuts, King Yellow Man, Doc aka "Medical," Sasha,John Holt, Ken Boothe, Gregory Issacs, Josie Whales,  DJ Assassin, George Knooks, Tony Rebel...just to name a few.Nadine Queen as she is lot a flavor n the three "L"s...Love, Life n Laughter.  caribbeanradioshoe@gmail.com

Beenie Man talks to Sarah C about his style, his music, his women and his opinions. Beenie Man will be appearing this Sunday, 17 August 2008 at the Stratford Rex alongside Tony Matterhorn for the Birthday celebration of DJ Face. In the spirit of fairness, we will look for Bounty Killa's perspective at the earliest opportunity. Alliance fans, never fear! Following Beenie Man’s interview I was contacted by Dimmie Joe Muzic, management for Tanto Metro & Devonte who whole heartedly refute Beenie Man’s claim that he wrote and partly produced Tanto Metro & Devonte’s first hit, “Everyone Falls In Love Sometime”. Dimmie Joe Muzic have issued the following statement: "To whom it may concern, We would like to address the issue of wrongful information that was posted on your website in the form of an interview between Moses Davis also known as Beenie Man and Sarah C of Vibes 93.8 FM on August 13, 2008 08:55 AM. In the interview Beenie Man states that he was responsible for writing and partly producing everyone falls in love by Tanto Metro and Devonte and even implies that he is the one responsible for the Duo success in past years. These remarks can be seen as a blatant disregard of respect and professionalism and since they were not corrected I believe that it is our responsibility to clear the air so to speak and let it be know that Moses Davis A.K.A Beenie Man did not write this or any such song for Tanto Metro and Devonte nor has he ever been a part of the production on any project that the duo has worked on. The song Everyone Falls in Love Sometimes was written by Devonte. Yes it is true that the two acts were at the same production company for many years and share many connections and aspects of the music business however their individual careers and creative aspects have never been intertwined in such a fashion. We feel that it is our responsibility to put an end to this untrue rumor, thus it would be our pleasure to do an interview via phone if necessary. It would also please us if you could organize a retraction or correction of the statement on your website. We appreciate your cooperation and included in this email is our contact information for future reference. Thank You and Much Respect. Dimmie Joe Music Ltd. Representatives of Tanto Metro and Devonte. -- Dimmie Joe Muzik Ltd. 5 Springvale Avenue, Kingston 10 dimmiejoemuzik@gmail.com www.myspace.com/dimmiejoemuzik "/end of statement The mischievous side of Sarah C wonders what inspired the lyric “beep beep who’s got the keys to my jeep”. I look forward to catching up with Tanto Metro and Devonte in the near future to hear their side of the story.
