Well my friends… WE DID IT! We hit 70 countries. I appreciate each one of you more than you could ever imagine. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. There are millions of podcasts for you to listen to and the fact that you take the time to hear what my guests and myself are sharing means the world… Thank you for tuning in every single week for over 200 episodes. I am still just soaking it all in to be honest and ready to share more news on the show very soon… The last few weeks have been a bit rough for me to be fully transparent, so I am sharing what has been going on with me emotionally. I mean I know I am not the only one! I've been on quarantine for months now and it had officially tried to put a little damper on my parade but here I am stronger than ever and hoping that by sharing my experiences I am able to help you with yours. You've got this! During this pandemic you could be doing all the home schooling, working your job, creating a new one or ready for a new and exciting project. Tune in today to hear how getting organized and keeping your eye on the prize will get you to the exact place you are wanting to go. This week was absolutely crazy for me and I could not more grateful. I hired three people to help me on some projects. I was on four different podcasts sharing my story of entrepreneurship all of which were released this week. And I am legit ready to open a gourmet pizzeria when this pandemic is over. Now we all know how happy being in the kitchen makes me, but last weekend was one for the books! I made a next level pizza. Freshest ingredients, lots of love, wine and a whole new approach to perfection. If you want to know what Reese Witherspoon, Candace Nelson, Jennifer Garner and Chef Daniele Uditi have to do with this process, you simply must tune in… Lots of takeaways and laughs in today's show… Did you love this episode? In 2016 Kelly was diagnosed with MS and in 2017 she was diagnosed with an extremely rare autoimmune disease called NMO. She quickly learned that becoming an advocate for your own health and rights would be a full-time job and knew she needed to use her voice and create a platform for others to come to, be heard, and learn more. That is when The Happy Workaholic Podcast was born. A show focused on Business, LinkedIn, and Life with an Autoimmune Disease. Three things Kelly knew best! In 2019 Kelly found out that she was misdiagnosed with both diseases. Not only did she have to change her way of everyday thinking and living life she also had to change the format and model of the show. The new and upgraded version of The Happy Workaholic Podcast is intended to elevate your mind, upgrade your business, enhance your life, and become a part of a positive and uplifting community. Inspiration, motivation, determination, and a never give up attitude are what got Kelly to where she is today, and she cannot wait to share the stories of other inspirational entrepreneurs, professional patients, healers, business owners, and fellow podcasters who will be featured on the show. Kelly has always taken a more personal approach to business. She continuously uses her expertise and knowledge to raise awareness through patient advocacy and grow The Happy Workaholic Podcast, Network, her coaching experiences, and her consulting programs she has created in order to enhance your business and life and get you to that next level you deserve to be at! Today marks the end of a chapter for me. When I launched The Happy Workaholic Podcast almost three years ago I did it because I had a story to share and I wanted to help others. I did it because it was the only way I could make an income if I were to become blind and paralyzed. And then later finding out an impact! My show turned into a business and looking back I had absolutely no idea I could ever do what I am doing now! And the only way I can do what I love is with clients. So, today's episode is all about them! Tune in to hear how we met, some real-life stories, some will make you think hard and some will make you laugh, who they help and what their podcasts are all about. I honestly have never felt the amount of gratitude I have experienced over the past two weeks. I know I am extremely lucky to be alive, have a podcast, have a podcasting business and have the best clients on the planet. So today I am shining the lights on those around me all week long. My incredibly talented clients! Today's episode is a raw unedited file because it was more important to me to get this content to your ears then making it sound like perfection! Now listen… I have a huge goal of hitting 200 reviews by Sunday night. So basically 48 hours! If you have not yet left me a review for this show, please do so here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-happy-workaholic-podcast/id1254994721?mt=2 From the bottom of my heart…. Do you struggle with keeping up an art practice? Do the 100 day challenges you see on social media overwhelm you? You are not alone! On today's episode, we have Alanna Cartier, an illustrator, to share some of her wisdom on creating and maintaining a daily art practice. We loved this conversation and left inspired and ready to get back to creating daily! About Alanna Alanna is an illustrator, collector of cookbooks, mother to one fat cat, and cultivator of genius hair. She believes that talent is a myth that can stop us from pursuing our creative passions, and that practice makes progress and perfection is imaginary (and boring to boot!). She believes in community and collaboration over competition, and helps run the Everyday Creatives, an online creative cooperative. Alanna is a self-professed nerd for learning, and spends a generous amount of time on Skillshare, where she teaches and hunting for new classes to love. Hiya Rebels!! We have a throwback episode today with Megan Auman. We chatted all things Pinterest with Megan and this episode is full of information and gems. Megan helps us understand how to look at Pinterest as a "brand magazine" for our product based business, to what kinds of things to pin and how to incorporate it into your marketing strategy. Be sure to take notes! About Megan Megan Auman is a designer and metalsmith who has bridged that gap successfully in her business. Not only has she grown her following on Pinterest and Instagram, but she’s successfully leveraged both visual platforms to sell her jewelry. In addition to running her eponymous jewelry line, you’ll find her at designinganmba.com, talking and teaching about the intersection of art and business. For our special Father's Day episode, we have an incredible guest. Kelly Gardner is a story telling legend, Father, and Mancave Coach. We explore fatherhood in all its forms - from parenting children to inspiring the world. The greatest thing we can do for communities is guide with love, rather than control with judgments. Fathers and Leaders invite others into greatness by showing, rather than telling. Grab the staff, and step up into your power because the world needs you! Show Notes: The special dynamic between father and son We can't be fully prepared for raising a child. Manhood and boyhood are present energies throughout our lives Our children mirror back our great qualities, but also our shadows. We can't become a “perfect” parent, but we can be as present as possible and refrain from judgement. The difference between guiding and controlling our children Dealing with other peoples opinions on how we parent Our society vilifies apex predators, even though they are vital parts of the ecosystem. How to embrace the wild energy You don't have to be a biological father - there are children and other adults who could use this same energy The power of leadership/fatherhood is inviting others into their greatness We ARE our children, parents, ancestors, and future generations. The obstacles present the opportunities Connect With Kelly: Facebook: Kelly Gardner Instagram: WokeAssDad Check out his work in Mancave (online) and Unleash the Beast(in person) Kelly supports with Bridge and Bridge Extreme with Preston Smiles and Alexi Panos Kelly helps entrepreneurs and creatives share their message by teaching them the art of storytelling.

Today is a shop talk with the lovely Annya White-Brown from NaturalAnnie Essentials. We fell in love with her island vibe on Instagram and had to have her on the show. Annie creates amazing skin care and home products from her home. She tells us about her journey as a biz owner, how shows and wholesale have helped her grow her business and why connecting with others is so important. We know you will love this conversation as much as we did! About Annya: Born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica, Annya (Annie) is no stranger to the nourishing, healing power of oils and herbs. She has always been a creative soul, with an eye for all things bright 'n' bold (can you tell by her packaging?). She also loves plants and a huge glass of wine (Merlot please!). Annie’s first daughter Tiffany was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, and Annie turned to natural remedies to help Tiffany’s skin, as prescribed medication did not work. After trying a variety of natural butters, essential oils, and other natural oils, we finally found the remedy to her daughter’s skin issues. Essential oils and herbs are some of the most ancient and powerful remedies available, so Annie started to think about how they could be utilized in skin and hair care. Annie’s passion and knowledge grew, and in 2014 she decided to channel them into developing her unique brand. And NaturalAnnie Essentials burst into life! Today, NaturalAnnie Essentials is your island-inspired, one-stop shop for uniquely scented, handmade soy candles and bath & body products. Mental Health is something that is rarely talked about, especially as it relates to running a business. Enter Sara McNally. Sara has a brick & mortar shop in Seattle and is on the show today sharing her own experience with anxiety while running her business. This is a candid conversation full of wisdom and honesty about a topic we feel needs to be highlighted more. About Sara Sara McNally is the owner of Constellation & Co, a letterpress stationery company and brick & mortar gift shop located in the Seattle Fisherman’s Terminal. Constellation & Co uses the power of words and the magic of snail mail to connect people and make us all feel less alone. Our line of cards and gifts are inspired by the events and occasions in life that are made sweet by close, honest relationships. Our work as Constellation & Co. is built for sharing joy and holding our loved ones close in the middle of pain. When Sara’s not working at the shop, she’s sending snail mail to her loved ones, buying copious amounts of fountain pens, and spending time with her husband and son. Taking a product from idea to the shelves can be daunting especially if it has to be manufactured. We wanted to talk to someone who has been in the trenches so on today's episode we are chatting with Nicole Ketchum of Hey Girl Decor. Nicole tells us all about how her chandeliers came to be and the process it took to get them manufactured overseas. About Nicole Hi I'm Nicole, Founder and Designer of Hey Girl Decor, formally Chandelier By NK. Hey Girl Decor is a modern acrylic decor company — founded in 2014. It started as an idea to create an easy, chic chandelier without lights. The idea of making a chandelier and then flipping it on it’s head and redefining it was so much fun! Our mission statement is simple: We take designing seriously — but don’t think decor should be serious. We are currently scaling our brand, with the goal of retailers for licensing opportunities, and rolling out a new name and logo next week. Craft show season is upon us, so we wanted to throw it back to Episode 23 with Paige Poppe. Paige Poppe came on the show and talked all about getting involved in your local scene! Paige is an amazing artist from Arizona who has a recognized online brand, but also has this whole local craft/art show thing down to a science! We hope you enjoy this throwback episode! Here is a little more about Paige: Paige Poppe is an Arizona native, currently living + working as a full-time artist in the Valley. Painting every day in Scottsdale, she is surrounded by the beautiful Sonoran desert. She works in watercolor + acrylic, painting the desert landscape and botanicals as her subject matter. Paige is a graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and holds her Bachelor of Architecture degree. This has left her with a great appreciation for sketching + working in analog, but her digital skills, including proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, allow her to work digitally, create mockups, and clearly communicate ideas with clients. Paige is proud to connect with her local community by participating in several local art markets and including Phoenix Flea, the Tempe Arts Festival, and an art installation at Cartel Coffee. She has collaborated on exclusive designs with local apparel brand Overthrow Clothing, and shared her work at events at Madewell Fashion Square and West Elm Kierland. Her work can also be found at several retail boutiques including MADE Art in downtown Phoenix and !Viva! Paso in Paso Robles, CA. Her painting and design work extends to her own products, wedding stationery design, branding and packaging for small businesses, design work for Phoenix Flea marketing, and large scale painting commissions for clients. We told you she rocks! She also mentioned some great resources on the show that we wanted to link below. 6 foot folding table* 4 foot folding table* PayPal credit card reader - point of sale system* Dolly/rolling hand truck for loading in display* Display Racks https://www.etsy.com/shop/Wudls?ref=l2-shopheader-name "10 Tips for Selling at Art/Craft Shows" Video by Paige Poppe http://www.paigepoppe.com/blog/2015/4/29/10-tips-for-selling-at-artcraft-shows?rq=10%20tips * Any link marked with an “*” is an affiliate link and Paige Poppe will receive a commission if purchased, however these are the items that she uses and recommends. Email marketing. You know you should do it but just are not sure what emails are best to send to customers. Today on the show we have Katie Salmon to talk about email marketing but more specifically, doing it on autopilot. You are going to want paper and pen because Katie walks us through exactly which emails you need to be sending and how! She serves her clients through her “done-for-you” agency, Katie Does Marketing, and her new template store Shop Pop (coming soon March 2019!) You may be one type of person. You may be the type of person who, you are currently working in a job and you have that side hustle that you really enjoy, but it just kind of supplements whatever you do for a living right now, and you’re happy where you are. Or, you might be the person who is currently working a job and you have that side hustle, but you have a bigger dream, and you are pushing towards that bigger dream, and you just want that bigger dream to come true, and you are just paralyze. Maybe it’s by fear, or by second guessing your talents or yourself, and you’re just not quite there yet. You’re not quite at the point where you feel like you can take that leap, to pursue that dream full time. At what point do you think you’ll be ready? At what point do you feel like, ‘yes, this is the time, this is the day that I’m going to take my dream full-time, I’m going to turn my side hustle, into my main hustle,’? My guest this week is Kelly Parker Smith. She is the Founder of Hello World Paper Company. She is a rubber stamp designer, and manufacturer, who lives just outside of St. Louis in Belleville, Illinois with her husband, three boys, and rescue kitten Katniss. She has grown her shop, Hello World Paper Company, with the idea that great products become even better when paired with top notch customer service, a little surprise and delight, and of course the perfect packaging. But here’s why I loved Kelly’s story so much: she had a dream, and she set out with a goal to build a school with Pencils of Promise, a school through her business. Today we’re going to dive into her business, and her purpose behind her business, which is building this school and providing education for other kids. ON GIVING BACK FROM THE BEGINNING From Kelly’s own wedding gifts, to her very first client’s charity of choice, giving back has been a foundation of Kelly’s business from the very beginning. However, it was her career as a teacher that truly sparked her love for providing education to all children. Hello Paper Company has pledged to build a school with Pencils of Promise, donating a percentage of profits every month. ON BECOMING AN ENTREPRENEUR FULL TIME Kelly talks the difficulties of balancing a full time career, while having such a passion for her side hustle. Taking a leap of faith in making her business full-time allowed her to make more time for her family, while also making an impact. However, becoming an entrepreneur did not come without sacrifice, hard work, and a lot of faith in the vision for her company. ON CREATING QUALITY OF LIFE Sometimes it’s worth sacrificing a higher paying salary to have better quality of life. Kelly talks the importance of examining your happiness and well-being to decide if your career path is truly benefitting you. Investing in others to bring onto your team, others who may do certain tasks better than yourself, not only frees up space in your day, but also in your mind. ON BUILDING A SCHOOL WITH PENCILS OF PROMISE Pencils of Promise is an organization that builds, and staffs schools, in third world countries. Hello World Paper Company has pledged to raise $35,000 to build and staff a full school. Kelly talks about her passion for Pencils of Promise and how children in these countries are craving the education that we often take for granted.
