Deltagarna protesterade mot strejkbrytare och arbetsgivarnas hårda åtgärder under en pågående arbetskonflikt.I det röda Ådalen – där den revolutionära vänstern underblåste konflikten mellan industriägare och arbetare – skapade strejkbrytarna en explosiv situation. En inkompetent hantering från civila och militära myndigheter förvandlade en redan laddad konflikt till en tragedi: fem människor sköts ihjäl av svensk militär.I detta avsnitt av podden Historia Nu samtalar programledaren Urban Lindstedt med journalisten Jens Nordqvist, författare till boken Skotten i Ådalen (Historiska Media, 2021).Skotten i Ådalen förändrade synen på både militärens roll i samhället och fackföreningarnas rättigheter. Versteegh vägrade att ansluta sig till Svenska Arbetsgivareföreningen och betraktade fackföreningarna som ett hot mot sin makt. Strejker utbröt vid flera av hans anläggningar, och våren 1931 förvandlades Ådalen till en tryckkokare.Kulmen nåddes när strejkbrytare, eskorterade av det privata vaktsällskapet Svenska Nationella Skyddskåren, anlände till fabrikerna i Lunde. Redan den 13 maj samlades hundratals demonstranter för att blockera transportvägar och attackerade strejkbrytarnas logi. Situationen eskalerade. Polisen fick förstärkning från Stockholm, och militären kallades in från Västernorrlands regemente i Sollefteå.På Kristi himmelsfärdsdag, den 14 maj, deltog över 3 000 personer i ett demonstrationståg som protesterade mot strejkbrytare och militärens närvaro. In Hour 2… (6:05) ESPN's Dalen Cuff joined to kick off Hour 2 with a preview of the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. The guys and Dalen hit on some of the biggest names to watch for in this year's tournament, such as Duke, Florida and Houston, as well as hitting on Rick Pitino and his current St. John's squad after winning their first Big East title in over 25 years.  (15:20) Mike Golic Jr's old collegiate coach, Charlie Weis, stopped by to talk through a few different things with the guys. First, they discussed some of his time coaching the Fighting Irish, as well as coaching Mike Jr himself, but then transitioned into what his son, Charlie Weis Jr is up to these days. Charlie Jr. currently serves as OC and QBs coach of Ole Miss, and Charlie Sr. had strong opinions on the rise of Jaxson Dart during the 2025 Draft Process. Charlie didn't have a bad thing to say about Dart, and understands why he continues to climb draft boards, such as Mel Kiper Jr's third mock draft of the season.  (30:18)  We've got a source off! During the second hour, The Athletic's Diana Russini tweeted “There's no ‘in' or ‘out' on Aaron Rodgers from Minnesota—they're simply not making a decision at this time.” The guys discuss if there's still a chance Rodgers ends up following in Brett Favre's footsteps and ends up in Minneapolis, as well as continuing the convo from Hour 1 on what they're expecting, if anything, from Rodgers' free agency process.
