Dana Dahlquist is a Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher and a Golf Digest Top 50 Golf Instructor.  Recognized as one of the best on the Professional Golf, Dana's goal is to help players create swings that are functional and repeatable under pressure, not just swings that look good on camera on the driving range. Originally trained with a background in mechanics (MORAD specifically), his teaching has evolved to understand the forces players must apply to create the matchups needed in their swing.  Dana also works with Bryson DeChambeau and joins #OntheMark to set up the US Open and help you get a better understanding of how to build a dynamically stable and repeatable golf swing. He takes a deep dive into technique as he discusses elements that a lot of golfers misundestand: Hitting Down in Contrast to Presenting Better Dynamic Loft for better Strikes and more Power How to effectively Make Changes for Consistency when embarking on Game Improvement Measures, and Managing Expectations and Setting Positive Timelines for Improvement. As he elaborates on these important topics Dana talks about Ben Hogan, Mac O'Grady, Lee Trevino and Bryson DeChambeau.  He also talks about game improvement's "Heirarchy of Needs" and how hitting the shot that is needed is better than hitting a good shot - as he uses Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Scottie Scheffler as examples. In this episode of the Alabaster Jar, Dr. Lynn Cohick and Kelly Dippolito discuss the importance of historical context when interpreting scripture, specifically focusing on 1 Timothy 2. They emphasize that understanding Ephesus's cultural and religious context in the first century is crucial to understanding Paul's message. They debunk the idea that Paul is establishing a gender hierarchy or limiting women's roles in the church. Instead, they argue that Paul addresses heretical teachings and false piety in Ephesus, urging both men and women to be educated in the truth and focus on Jesus as the Savior. They also explore the possible influence of the Artemis myth and Gnostic heresies on interpreting certain passages in 1 Timothy.Key Takeaways: Understanding the historical context of scripture is essential for accurate interpretation.Paul's message in 1 Timothy 2 is not about establishing a gender hierarchy or limiting women's roles in the church.Paul addresses heretical teachings and false piety in Ephesus and urges both men and women to be educated in the truth. The influence of the Artemis myth and Gnostic heresies may have shaped the interpretation of certain passages in 1 Timothy. The focus should be on Jesus as the Savior and striving towards a godly life. Episode Resources: Nobody's Mother: Artemis of the Ephesians in Antiquity and the New Testament by Dr. Sandra Glahn  The Visual Museum of Women in Christianity  Episode Sponsor:  The Alabaster Jar is brought to you by The Center for Women in Leadership, a newly formed 501©3 nonprofit organization whose purpose is to equip women in a context that is biblically rooted, theologically robust, and ethnically diverse to thrive as leaders in the academy and the Church. Some people say it takes no talent, like abstract art, upon further study, there is far more to it than it's initial impression. So we break it down and make a case for metal.

What would change in your life if you could fearlessly be you? I don't mean fearlessly show up and do what you do every day, but fearlessly be the you that is authentic. The you that is what you really want. This is something that I have worked with many people on in their career, their life, and it's also something that I have experienced. Leaning into fearlessly being yourself is uncomfortable. It can be really uncomfortable. For example, one of my clients has a professional career that, it's when you spend a lot of years becoming educated. And while she has loved what she's done, it's really not her primary passion and she has dreams of creating this other business that is focused around something that she is just naturally gifted and talented at. But of course now she's in this place of how do I extricate from my one business to build this other business, how do I support myself? And on the retreat in Sedona, we were actually able to get her some clarity around some next steps because we can just become so insular and locked in our thinking without realizing it. I mean, we've all had those moments, right? Where it was like, gosh, just slap me upside the head. Like, why didn't I see this? It was right in front of me all the time.  [00:02:45] So one of the things that comes up is what will people think? And, it doesn't come up directly as that. It comes up as: “Well I'm not sure what to do next”. Like there's this fear around making the right step, making the steps in the right timing, not making a mistake because, oh my God, what if you walk away from this extremely successful career to pursue this other passion, and then it doesn't work out. Well, by the end of the day she had some clarity around some options. She was no longer locked into this feeling of either or, it has to be this way or that way. She found a way to begin to do both and so that she could still benefit financially from her lucrative practice, but also explore what it would look like to follow her dreams, and she didn't have to give up anything to do this. [00:03:53] I've worked with other people who have held back on doing what they want to do so much because they're afraid that their family will be fearful for them. Will be afraid for them. So they've held back on what they wanna do most in life. Fearlessly being yourself means that you fully accept yourself, you accept your passions, your dreams, your desires, and you know that you are worthy of being successful in your own right, living according to those ideals just because you are who you. And that really scares a lot of people. And it scares a lot of people because our entire lives people have given us feedback of how good we are, how smart we are, how talented we are, whether or not we are in the right or the wrong, through their personal perception of reality in the world. When we're children, through our parents correcting us or praising us and rewarding us, we learn what is air fingers quote, “Good and acceptable behavior”. We learn that when we do certain things, we get our parents love and attention. When we don't do those things, they may not be pleased with us. They still love us and care for us. They may not be pleased with us, but that can be perceived as not receiving that unconditional love and attention. We've done something that's unacceptable. And those things become hardwired in our brain. Those responses, fortunately, they can be changed.  [00:05:45] So when I say hardwired, think of being able to rewrite a hard disc. They can be changed. But if you listen to the last episode of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs when we're born into this world, we need to have a sense of safety and security and love and acceptance. That's all that we want. A child, the only thing a child wants is to know their parent is proud of them. That's love and acceptance. That's how that is perceived. And when it's something other than then it could be interpreted by a child as anything else. You know, mom, dad could be stressed, worried, not feeling well, and, normal, everyday things can be perceived as, Oh, maybe things aren't so good today. You know. So to fearlessly being able to be you means recognizing those stories, having awareness around those stories, shedding those stories, letting them go, and when there is a belief underneath, then addressing that belief to get rid of it. To eliminate any belief that there's any discrepancy, deficiency, or fault of any kind in you. Because here's the reality. When we're growing up and we're going through life and in our relationships, what other people say and think and do in regards to us. They're coming from their own stuff. Their response to us really doesn't have a whole lot to do with us. It's about their interpretations. Now, I mean, if someone's being malicious and and doing something unfair, then certainly, but still their response would be a reflection of their own experience growing up. [00:07:48] So if you want to fearlessly be yourself, if you want to step into this place where you trust yourself to make these bold moves, well, first of all, I've talked about self-trust before. I'm not gonna talk about it again, but that is a muscle that we built. So that's something separate in and of itself. But to feel comfortable in your skin is you, means shedding all the stories, the stereotypes and the perceptions that negatively influence your self talk and then you can move forward. And in the words of one of my clients be unfuckwithable. You just are. You've hit all those needs. You have your personal sense of safety. You love and accept yourself. Your relationships are improving. You have that respect. You have that self-esteem, You have that confidence and that, my friends, is where the diamond is in life, right there. Hope you enjoyed this episode. I'll catch you next week. Bye. Review last week's episode Maslow's Heirarchy and Your Satisfaction in Life here! Conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion seem to be a more frequent and familiar part of both our business and general culture. But how are actual changes and improvements in individual and group behavior going to be made? My special guest, Christina Blacken has made a career for herself of looking at this very important question and chose a tool to do her work that is called Narrative Intelligence. In the episode, Christina teaches us all about Narrative Intelligence, her own childhood and childhood surroundings which sharpened her knowledge for story, and how stories influence people's thoughts and behavior. You will gain insight on how Christina expertly trains other people to be more aware of the stories that have influenced them, the cultures and policies they operate in, and to be more conscious about how they use their own personal influence.Christina Blacken is a public speaker, performer, and founder of The New Quo. The New Quo is a leadership development and equity consultancy, helping leaders create equitable practices, habits, and goals through their narrative intelligence. She helps leaders identify the psychological impact of historical, cultural, and personal narratives on beliefs, bias, and behaviors to improve their bias recognition, as well as providing them with leadership tools to create more inclusive and equitable communication, goal setting, decision making, and relationship building skills. Timestamps:• [6:50] “So many of the things I've created in my life have always started from a pain point or a block or a barrier…”• [8:32] Christina shares how and why she discovered that story was a big part of how people were ingesting different cultures and identities that they maybe never interacted with before.• [11:12] Christina shares an example of “wholesale buying” of stories that influence and impact… “When there's discussions around beauty and professionalism, that straight hair is the norm. And if you don't have straight hair, you're not professional, you're not as attractive. • [16:03] Christina explains narrative intelligence as “the ability to recognize the patterns, and the narrative tropes that are internalized within you when it comes to societal or cultural stories, and how those then affect your behavior, your thinking, your biases, and shifting them appropriately if they're in the way of your full potential because there are stories we can ingest…”For more information on the Make Time for Success podcast, visit: https://www.maketimeforsuccesspodcast.comConnect with Us!Dr. Christine Li -Website: https://www.procrastinationcoach.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/procrastinationcoachInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/procrastinationcoach/To work with Dr. Li on a weekly basis in her coaching and accountability program, please register for The Success Lab here: https://www.procrastinationcoach.com/labChristina Blacken -Website: https://www.thenewquo.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/christinablacken/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/christinablackenthe white paper! https://bitly.com/newquopaper

We've all been in "survival mode" for the past 2 years. According to Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs, until our physiological and safety needs are met, we aren't able to adequately self-actualize. I experienced just this when a major ice storm hit our town and we lost electricity, heat and running water for three days. Without my basic needs being met, I couldn't focus on anything else.  This might help explain how your life may've felt like it's stalled a bit during the pandemic. Is Equality Natural? Do We Have a Natural Impulse Towards Equality? This is a philosophical tour of how philosophers have answered the equality question, and how hunter-gatherers, tribesman, and homo sapiens for 95% of their history, have been egalitarian. Based on Christopher Boehm's book, Heirarchy in the Forest: The Evolution of Egalitarian Behaviour, I look at the !Kung, The Semai, The Utku, Native North Americans and others to explore why they treated each other as equals. I also take a look at Hobbes, Locke, and Proudhon and the idea of natural rights. Then & Now is FAN-FUNDED! It’s not easy to reveal to the world that you’re a sexual minority. Now imagine you’re an Indian. The stakes are that much higher. Dr. Varuna Srinivasan’s decision to come out as a bisexual woman shows that she is not afraid to take a stand & voice her opinion. Her inability to find safe spaces to open up made her become a gender justice advocate and also build an online community to do just that - to be a safe space for others to address their sexual health concerns. She was named 'Woman of Courage' by Serena Williams in Vogue Magazine for her work in promoting gender issues in South Asian communities. Not an easy feat. After completing medicine, Dr. Varuna studied public health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School and went on to work as public health researcher. She has also worked for Doctors without Borders and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and is currently a researcher at Yale University. Nancy Nardin on the SalesTech Landscape Episode Summary: Welcome to the Sales Tech Podcast, the show that talks about sales technology, what's working, what's not and where the industry is going. In this episode, Nancy Nardin joins the show to discuss her wealth of knowledge in sales technology. Nancy is the founder of Smart Selling Tools and is widely recognized as the voice of authority on sales technology. She's also the creator of the Nancy Nardin SalesTech Landscape, a market landscape of well over 1,000 sales solutions sorted into 45 categories. Backed by 30 years of sales expertise, Nancy is a pioneer in mobile selling – having sold for the world's first laptop computer manufacturer, GRiD Systems, in Silicon Valley in the early 1980's. Today, Thom and Nancy discuss the evolution of the sales technology industry, how Nancy prioritizes her time and the inspiration to launch Smart Selling Tools. Nancy speaks to the pushback she's seen in sales tech, how companies purchase sales technology tools and the future of the industry.  What We Covered: 00:07 – Thom introduces today's guest, Nancy Nardin who joins the show to talk about her background in sales technology and how the industry has changed over the years 06:26 – How all of the various technology apps are interacting with each other today 07:48 – Nancy speaks to the pushback she experiences in sales technology 10:53 – Nancy discusses the inspiration to launch Smart Selling Tools and analyzes her SalesTech Landscape tool 16:46 – The different approaches companies take to purchase sales technology tools 18:57 – Nancy speculates on the future of sales technology 21:46 – Advice Nancy would give to those who are heavily interested and invested in the future of sales tech 22:50 – Thom thanks Nancy for joining the show and let's listeners know where to follow her Tweetables: “The SaaS model really opened the door to this pace of innovation that led to what we now have, eleven hundred sales technologies, versus what we had in 2010 and that was around one hundred technologies.” (04:44) “I think all sellers – or many of us that are in sales – have an entrepreneurial spirit. We're very independent-minded people. We work very well on our own. We're thinking about our territory as our own business. And that was my case.” (11:04) “I built the Landscape on a framework. And the framework I actually borrowed from Maslow's Heirarchy.” (13:27) “When companies are thinking about what tools they should buy, you could certainly take a holistic view and say, ‘Let's step back and figure out how to be a more effective and efficient organization.' But that takes a lot of time, and the market is moving way too fast. By the time they figure that out the technology will have changed.” (17:19) “Companies used to be able to take their time and crawl along in terms of technology adoption. They can't do that anymore because remote selling is nothing if it isn't digital. And digital is what sales applications are.” (19:16) Links Mentioned: Nancy Nardin on LinkedIn Smart Selling Tools Website Nancy's 2021 B2B Enterprise SalesTech Landscape G2 Website

I met Chris earlier of 2016 when I was brought in as part of the media team to film one of his conference events. From one event to another, I began to consistently work with him on various projects from short film trailers to speaking engagements. Chris masterfully utilizes the skillset and idea he has to make an impact on the military community. A driven entrepreneur who aspires to create a lasting impression wherever he is. Whether on stage, at a coffee shop, even in front of the camera. Working with him was a privilege, being able to brainstorm and see the way he perceives the need in the marketplace. His mind is made up of clever ideas that seek to find solutions in fulfilling the hierarchy of needs, similar to the things that tug his heart when he was growing up. The way he carries himself to how he articulates a story simply invites you to be curious and tenacious with him. At a young age, the same curiosity and tenacity were birthed from the hardest times of his life. It lives on as part of Chris' journey of continuing to soar higher towards his dreams. This conversation brings us to the evergrowing and progressive endeavors of Chris that ultimately led him to see what he was meant to do. Governmantal policy is often contradictory in that its aims and outcomes often differ. This discrepancy is often the result of competing objectives around which sub-system of government can best facilitate the interest of the state. Interest of state varies according to amount of resources infused into the particular sub-system of government. One example is the financial system which controls every aspect of society which ensures the ultimate conclusion involving dispute is resolved by the financial system. Is this inherently wrong? If so, accounting to whom?

Steppin' Out of Babylon: Radio Interviews

Richard Moore is the author of Escaping the Matrix-- How We the People Can Change the World. He talks about the 6000 years of the history of civilization which, in human history, is a story of ever evolving hierarchical systems ruled by elites arriving now at the point there is one regime that can rule the world. "Civilized" man is synonymous with "domesticated' man-the 'masses' do the work, fight the wars to consolidate the take-over of others and consolidate empire. Since it's "we the people" who care about ourselves Moore thinks that the only way we're going to take care of ourselves and our welfare in these challenging times is by creating a truly democratic society for ourselves. One of the main points Moore wants to make in this interview is that things are almost never as they seem. He talks about the 20th century--just before WWI a strategy was formed by Britain and the US based on their understanding that when they control the buying and selling of oil they also control global finance and then control the world. About 1928 they made an agreement and set up a collaborative scheme (a cartel) for exploiting the oil industry which is basically a British American operation and it's still going. There also was collaboration all through the war between Nazi's and US financial interests. Ford, GM and other US companies were in Germany throughout WWII where they were manufacturing weapons which were used against American Troops. When supplies of oil were needed sometimes they'd be given to US and sometimes to Germany. The US and Britain also got together with the English and US bankers prior to the war to create the Federal reserve System in order to fund the war effort. President Roosevelt had to confiscate some of Prescott Bush's companies under the trading with the enemy act since he was one of the main people to handle the Nazi finances. There's a direct connection through the Bushes and they're really re-building the Nazi regime in the USA. 9/11 is a direct replay of the Reichstag Fire that started WWII. The names they're using like "homeland security" are patterned on the Nazis. The IMF (International Monetary Fund which used to be the Bank of London) and the World Bank were set up to control global finances and are controlled by the US and Britain as an extension of their banking systems while the United Nations is getting transformed into something that is really an extension of US foreign policy. All this was orchestrated and the "matrix" is, among other things, what people take for history-i.e., what we read in history books about personalities and other lies when, in truth, it's the bankers and their story that is determining things-- the lies that the powers that be think need to be told in order to get people to go along with their plans. Moore says the UN is a vehicle to create a world government and take sovereignty away from all nations.Moore's websites are: cyberjournal.org and escapingthematrix.org.Recorded: November 2006.
