Driven to make a difference in people's lives, being a teacher (for over 16 years now), to her feels like second nature. However, despite that deep love for her calling, the challenges of raising a medically complex child made her take a two-year break from teaching. The reality of death and the thought that one day his parents will eventually die was so hard for him to handle. But it made him somehow more meditative about life. After feeling "home" at the Buddhist meditation center a year earlier, he decided to live there when he was twenty-six and stayed there for what he considered as four years of honeymoon with meditation where he had meditated 5-6 hours every day.Highlights:Mindful life coach - helps/guides clients to open and access wholeness in life through observation beyond the content of the mindAliveness -  being fully alive is a core value that leads to finding oneself at the moment instead of getting lost in itBecoming unlimited - creating the life that we want by asking what is most important to you, by setting/achieving goals; because the more we get what we want, the more we want to do for othersIt is hard to set achievable goals, but without goals, there would neither be direction nor results. The fear of failure may hinder one from identifying goals. Having spent the last four years in an all-girl school, she felt shocked as she found herself the only female student among twenty boys studying computing. Although she still graduated on top of her class, that exposed her to the reality that in the tech world women had always been outnumbered by men. It has since become one of her desires to see more and more women thrive and succeed in the profession. And more so because six weeks after she landed her first job, she was fired unjustly. Her redemption happened when her manager on her second job expressed belief in her that she also began believing in herself.Highlights:Learning coaching became necessary for her when she was assigned to lead a team, which paved the way for more women in tech to come to herSeeing many women getting stuck in the medium level on their way to getting promoted made her want to dedicate her life to helping women reach the leadership positions Hard work is not enough; doing well in your job does not always guarantee recognition and promotion; getting visible is very importantSpeaking up or simply just asking questions (in meetings) is the easiest way to become visible Since women usually keep their heads down, they could also miss out on opportunities of being visible to other people -- especially people of influence. Hence, Carolyn encourages women to speak up or even just ask questions in order to become visible. Not to prove oneself all the time, but she wants women to be responsible for their growth in order to step up, learn, and take risks. If somehow you are feeling stuck and cannot seem to move further in your job and cannot ascertain the how-to's or if you are struggling with not being recognized or listened to, her contents and her tribe may just be what you need to do otherwise. It was the catalyst for healing, self-care and mindfulness while uncovering her true potential, and she now uses her innovative photography to help others to see themselves better.'Highlights:Self-portrait shoot -- she looked at her images and realized she neither hated nor felt ashamed of the woman looking back at her; instead, she saw her pain and took better care of herself holisticallyPhotography works in a visual way -- as opposed to the image in the mirror, picture images are static and therefore do not change the facts; even when you turn away from them, they would tell you the same the next time you view themIt is not a permanent fix -- photography healing serves only as  a starting point; self-care is a day-to-day job that contributes to the success of the healing processSince women especially wives and moms usually do not find time to take pictures of themselves or do not feel like including themselves in photos, Kath encourages them to take more pictures of themselves. If not for their own, they should do it for the benefit of their loved ones.Either in Face to Face or in Freedom Shoot, certain preparations are done in order to ensure that they feel safe, held and supported, and in control of the process. She also admits that this may not be for everybody. But if you are someone who had already tried almost all different means to address anxiety and depression, and nothing seemed to ever work, then visual healing is worth the try. As Kath says, "When we step into our greatest authentic selves, we don't have to be anything else... We are enough and we matter." Christina Woods is an RTT Hypnotherapist, a Reiki Master, a coach, and the CEO and founder of Wise Woods Hypnotherapy and Coaching from San Diego California. With a thirty-year corporate career in the higher education space guiding and mentoring staff, students and their families, she had been in a position where coaching had been like a way of life but without labels and proper training. Those three decades apparently brought out the best and the worst in her.  But it had also helped her develop the skills she needed in her newfound career, RTT coaching.Highlights:•Trauma – born to teenage parents who were also dealing with their own teenage issues; her survival skills started as early as age 5; no one else was in charge so she had to figure her way on her own•“Not enough” syndrome – going through a divorce after 25 years, having a hustler mindset, becoming a supermom; still unhappy•Hypnotherapy – a very natural state; going in and out of the brain waves; accessing the subconscious•Familiar vs. Unfamiliar – the mind learns by repetition; hence, based on what came up in the first session, there is a custom-made audio for the client to listen to in order to replace the old, familiar beliefs and replace them with the unfamiliar new beliefs and habits•Self-sabotage – negative self-talk; thoughts – feelings – actions; the repeat pattern in your life shows your thoughts are programmed a certain way, not because you believe it is correct but because it made you feel safe as a child• Simple Steps -- change your self-talk; get curious, get help; evaluate your beliefs, notice the little thingsHer brand of coaching makes people look inward knowing that the answers are inside them. They only need to take time to be quiet and listen to their intuition will peak. And hypnotherapy is the process that makes new unfamiliar but healthy suggestions in order to bring about transformation quicker than other traditional coaching brands. Hypnosis shows how our mind is always open to suggestions and responds even to thoughts. But we have to be open to the process if we want the real transformation to occur in our lives. If you want to hear, take advantage of the materials she gives away for free or if you would like to have an hour with her, look her up on wisewoods.com.—------------------------52 Weeks of Me is hosted by Jacklyn Osborne and Erika Brooks. Jillian Kaplan is currently working at Dell Technologies which focused on 5G and Telecom Thought Leadership. She has been in the Telecom sector for about 17 years. She currently resides in Massachusetts with her husband, daughter, and dog. One of her passion is helping rescue dogs as they foster a couple of hundred dogs in and out of their house. Highlights:Working in a male-dominated field, she learns to embrace diversity and use that difference as a superpower to bring a unique perspective as a woman. Disagreeing with kindness includes the tone of your voice, how you deliver words, waiting for your turn to speak as a show of respect, and using kind communication.Top tip: You can't get upset when they don't read your mind for what you want; they cannot read minds so you've got to communicate what you want. In moments where absolute tragedy and trauma strike, there are two options: to stand up and fight or accept the situation and live with it. Selfish and self-care are both good- it is good to be selfish and take care of yourself. You can take something horrendous and turn it into something big such as turning your mess into a message. She is a strong believer in ‘Technology for Good' and works to bring it to the forefront of all messaging. She is a long-time Telecom industry veteran. Before Dell Technologies, Jillian spent 14 years at Verizon. She joined Network Engineering during the launch of FTTP (FiOS), where she managed over a billion dollars in inventory in the Central Offices. 14 years ago, somewhere along the 26 long years, she spent in the corporate world, Cressida got training in coaching. Around that time, coaching was only almost exclusively associated with sports and the academe. It was almost unheard of in the business world. But the philosophy of coaching where people are given the freedom to process and work things out for themselves is what originally attracted her to the discipline. While she was very lucky and grateful for the huge success she enjoyed, and despite being the epitome of what most women would aspire to be, she had increments of realizations that made her consider there must be something better away from that life. Highlights:Her identity was based solely on who she was at work -- and yet the organization she dedicated  all her time and soul was making decisions she did not agree with and was not reflecting her own valuesWhy the shift after 14 years? Because she would like to help more women the way she would want to be helped when she was in her 30s.Who she caters to? People who suffer from impostor syndrome, lack of confidence, and seeking personal brand Exercise for Personal Branding: first four steps are Inward looking (Your story, your passions, and purpose, your values, your skills); the remaining three are Outward looking (behavior, communication, imaging) Benefits of having an established personal brand: Self-discovery, having a "set apart" identity; and being the primary voice that influences the narrative about youWhy do many of us struggle with confidence? Social norms of our formative years dictate our insecurities; we're paid and valued lessHer definition of success years ago was the classic: having a good career, and having money that enables you to make choices without giving it so much thought. But now, things have changed. Along with that change, she has now greater joy in helping people, especially women discover their real power and potential. Her firm works with teams and organizations but is predominantly caters to helping women because she understands how difficult it is to be a minority in the workplace. If you want to break free from impostor syndrome, lack confidence, and want to discover your own personal brand, Cressida may be the coach you need.      Cathy Rowland is a Women's vitality coach with 29 years of interior design expertise.Almost everybody all over the world would associate health and wellness with the proper diet, exercise, and sleep, among others. Equating it with the space and interior design of homes as well as offices is almost unheard of. Being a women's vitality coach, in addition to prioritizing self-care as well as self-awareness, space design is the special ingredient she offers her clients. Designing Space for Wellness is the course she created for this.Highlights: Self-care should be at top of our priorities because we can't fill an empty cup Debunk Limiting beliefs  such as metabolism gets slower as we grow older but that doesn't mean we cannot make better choices Ketosis - through intermittent fasting, the body resets and burns fats instead of retaining itFirst steps to wellness - cut out sugar and sugary drinks, and processed foods; increase sleeping hours; track your steps in 21 days The most taken-for-granted aspect of wellness - making our home and office space our own oasis or haven Less is more - declutter, get rid of, and discard the things you do not need or like and give them away to others who need them and might find joy in using themWomen's instincts make them natural nurturers. They plan out keeping up with everybody's needs and forget about themselves. With a long to-do list, they usually come in last or never at all. This and the vicious cycle of self-neglect among women is what Cathy stands up to stop. She emphasizes that wellness does not only come from what we consume but also from the environment that we see and the space we move about. Brian Dorheim is a leader and coach who believes first of all that his way from the dark and into the light has been through his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Growing up, he worked with various non-profits to make an impact in the local community. Even prior to his coaching years, he always desired to make connections and influence change within individuals and organizations. From physical to spiritual, emotional, and psychological, he desires to help individuals and teams become the best version of themselves.Highlights: What does it entail to be a culture coach? It is about seeing potential, understanding the layers of culture in an organization, and helping each individual own the role they play Is there such a thing as an ideal culture? No, but the foundation of every healthy culture is psychological safety How to achieve psychological safety? Being able to be your authentic self, having the liberty to discuss even the most uncomfortable topics, including personal losses, pains, and other traumatic experiences Benefits of openly communicating about our pain? Healing; simply having listening ears for our deepest pains has a restorative effect Advice for those who are on the receiving end? Take time to listen and do not attempt to change topics when people try to open up regarding their deepest pains and lossesA rainbow baby is a child born after parents experience a pregnancy or infant loss. While most of us celebrate the rainbow, we haven't seemed to normalize talking about the storm and thereby not allowing their memories to live on and be entwined with our own. This is one of the advocacies that Brian emphasizes. If pain or loss is part of your story, you owe it to yourself to openly discuss it, especially with the ones who matter most to you. Your trauma, though devastating, can be your advantage to help others who might go through similar experiences. If you wish to learn more from him or want someone to listen to the things you have long buried, you might find a listening ear in him on LinkedIn or at dorheim.com. ----------52 Weeks of Me is hosted by Jacklyn Osborne and Erika Brooks. Check out our website -  www.52weeksofme.net or follow us on Instagram @fiftytwoweeksofme. For suggestions and comments, email us at fiftytwoweeksofme@gmail.com.
