Associate dentists play an important role in private practice. They come alongside the owning doctor and help to carry out the dentistry needed to care for the patient base so that the practicing owner can see more patients, take more time away from the practice, or utilize freed-up time to focus on the administrative needs of the practice. Yet, associateships can cause problems from time to time. In this episode, Dr. Kuba and Bethany discuss additional “yuck” aspects of associateships, and they give several tips on how to eliminate these potential risks. How long has the system been out of use? The consequences of unfollowed systems are numerous. First, team members can be confused, leading them to spend too much time seeking clarification from others. Second, team members can become inefficient as they use outdated or previously unsuccessful systems. Finally, unfollowed systems can create discord on the team when some diligently follow the protocols while others seem to be slacking. With an alarming growth of angry and unhappy people in the world, it's not a surprise that the dental field is seeing its fair share. As disappointing as it is to have an angry, unhappy, or even volatile patient, it only gets harder when a dentist considers the options for dealing with the angry patient. So many options, each with their own pluses and minuses. In this episode, Dr. Kuba and Bethany discuss a few different angry patient scenarios. They each share their perspective on how they think it should be handled. Patient care is often a shared process among various providers. Dentists must coordinate care with dental specialists like oral surgeons, orthodontists, periodontists, pediatric dentists, and endodontists and vice versa. In addition, dental professionals must coordinate care among medical providers to obtain medical clearances as well as important information regarding medicines/pre-medication recommendations. This coordinated effort is a critical aspect of providing premium quality care for patients. In this episode, Dr. Kuba and Bethany discuss the importance of this process while also talking about the things that often go wrong in the process. Together, they have tips and suggestions for improving relationships amongst referral sources. Previous Episodes Worth Revisiting: What is Good Customer Service? Cybersecurity is a topic that pops up with increasing frequency in the oral healthcare space. Practices and networks of all sizes are prime targets for cyberattacks, as CEO of Black Talon Security Gary Salman explains. But the unfortunate reality is that, despite the immense target on the backs of dental practice computers, too many practice owners overestimate the security of their systems and remain in blissful ignorance to the signs of possible compromise. In this episode of The Patient First Podcast, Gary helps clarify the scope and the implications of cyberattacks on oral healthcare establishments and we discuss practical steps business owners can take to protect their organizations and their patients. On today's episode, I'm going to talk about the major mistake most physical therapy practice owners make. The major mistake most physical therapy practice owners make is…They do not run regular promotions and specials to your patients and prospects. How do I know?I'm guilty of it myself.Have you noticed that all the major retail and service businesses run Black Friday promotions?New Years, Presidents Day Sale, Valentines Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Halloween, Black Friday, Christmas, even national physical therapy month…lol! It seems too salesy or something that a health care business shouldn't do.Why do we think our businesses is any different or so special that we don't actually have to market using proven marketing strategies? If you own a PT Clinic and you have at least 100 customers or 100 customer contact details and you want to fill your schedule over the holidays and put more cash in the bank at the same time, you're going to love the Black Friday Sale we're having this year.It starts the Monday before Thanksgiving.Just go to www.CashPTBlackFriday.com for more details.
