POPULARITY

Thank you (: Welcome to a new movie & tv show podcast where two friends suggest a piece of media and guess what the other thinks of it. It's a twist of a normal movie podcast, because like them, we discuss the movies or tv shows. But we also compete at who knows who better! After our discussion, we like to have a mini discussion in there where we talk about absolutely anything! We have done movie trailer reactions, evolution of people in Hollywood, our top 10 lists, who we would recast in a movie, random recommendations, etc! We come up with new things all the time! Then, to end on a high note, we each have a mini game that we play. We inevitably laugh during every game, because we play marry fuck kill, would you rather, six 6 degrees, bad movie descriptions, super fights, two 2 truths and a lie, 5 second rule, cards against humanity, mad gab, connections, to so many more! We both have media degrees and look at everything from a fun point of view! So make sure you come back every 2 weeks to listen to your goofy hosts, Derrik and Jamie! And lets see how well YOU get to KNOW US! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/iknowyoupodcast/message

The gang connect with their inner kaiju this week, as they review Pete's pick from the wheel, Colossal written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo (2016). Starring Jason Sudeikis and Anne Hathaway, from the unique mind that brought us Time Crimes (2007). Bring a new spin on the giant monster genre, Colossal says much more about the monsters within us, and toxic relationships, than it does about actual 200 foot tall monsters. Also a call in from Robert Kelly of the Record All Monsters podcast, to shed light on the history of kaiju movies, and monster movies in general. How does the master of monster movies feel about Colossal, and whats' the best modern kaiju movie? And the worst of all time? Pop Break’s Podcasts Editor Alex Marcus is joined by editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin, and TV Columnist Josh Sarnecky to talk about the happenings in television. Here’s the format of the show: The Best Thing I Saw on TV Last Month – Alex, Bill, and Josh talk about a show/episode/event they liked from the last month including Disney+'s The Falcon & The Winter Soldier & Star Wars: The Bad Batch; The CW’s Batwoman; & HBO’s Mare of Easttown. News Break – Alex, Bill, and Josh discuss the shrinking of the cable industry as media companies begin shuttering some of their channels and shift more programming, including live sports, to their streamers. Streaming Wars – Alex, Bill, and Josh pick a streamer they think “won the month” based on new shows airing/upcoming shows announced etc. This month, everyone had a different horse in the race. Bill chose Amazon thanks to their recent NFL deal and their hit R-rated superhero animated series Invincible. Meanwhile, Josh advocated for Netflix after its recent awards season haul and the premiere of their new series Shadow & Bone and films The Mitchels vs. The Machines and Army of the Dead, and Alex stuck up for IMDbTV after a slew of new originals were announced including shows from Dick Wolfe and Michael Shurr Series Spotlight – Alex, Bill, and Josh watched Peacock’s Ed Helms starring sitcom Rutherford Falls. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Internal Leverage is an exploration into the inner game of business. Through interviews and anecdotes, we'll dive deep into the psychology, performance strategies, and daily routines of highly successful game changers and find out what gives them internal Leverage. In this new episode, mindset and performance coach Abraham Heisler speaks with David O'Leary, Creator and Executive Producer of the TV drama series Project Blue Book. We listen in to his journey from being a teacher to slugging it out in Hollywood and creating a TV series that has been played in the United States and all over the world. Essential points covered in this episode: ✔️ Starting as a test prep company tutor, becoming an assistant three times at different production companies and studios, and becoming an executive at three other places in his late 20s made David realize that he wasn't living an authentic life. ✔️ To pursue your creative passion, commit to the beginning and then and starting small. David dreamed of being a screenwriter, so he worked on his craft, developed it, put it into practice, and took those little steps to put himself forward. Eventually he started attracting some great opportunities. ✔️ Sometimes the "bad pitch" we have in life ends up as the most brilliant ideas. Let go of high-pressure expectations and allow yourself to be and do what you genuinely want to do. ✔️ Understand that you've got to go through the process of facing a bunch of failures. Focus on the process rather than the outcome, and you may probably do your best work yet. ✔️ What keeps your fascination and interests may be the direction that will allow you to explore that in a very public way and take thousands, even millions of people on that journey with you, like what David was able to do. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- David O'Leary is the Creator and Executive Producer of the TV drama series Project Blue Book starring Aidan Gillen (Game of Thrones), which is also Executive Produced by Oscar-winner Robert Zemeckis. Project Blue Book ran for two seasons on HISTORY and was the #1 new cable drama series of the 2018/2019 TV season in total viewers. It has aired in over 165 countries, and the series now streams its 20 episodes as part of new programming featured on NBC's Peacock, IMDbTV, and Amazon Prime, and is available for purchase on most platforms. O'Leary also recently served as a co-producer on the Netflix supernatural hit film Eli (2019) and the sci-fi thriller feature Parallel, which Vertical Entertainment released in December 2020. Up next, O'Leary's been hired to adapt a Swedish crime TV series with Zero Gravity (Ozark) producing, and John Coles (The Sinner, House of Cards, Homeland) directing. A New York City native, O'Leary is repped by Paradigm, Zero Gravity, and Jackoway, Tyerman, Wertheimer, et al. and currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters. ----------------------- Listen in expert advice from scientists, celebrities, personalities who have made it to six, seven, eight, even nine-figure income levels.
