Acne is a MAJOR issue for so many of us with PCOS. Meg Gaic, leading acne expert, is no stranger to dealing with the frustrating, embarrassing, and not to mention expensive implications of cystic acne and endless breakouts. The number one reason we can get acne with PCOS is elevated androgens, but when these levels are “normal”, there are SO many question marks that can pop up. Let's explore potential alternative contributing factors! According to Meg, the core pillars of acne healing are mindset, emotional support, getting to the root cause of “why” and fixing it naturally with food and supplements, and proper skincare. Let's learn from Meg and let her walk us through how to approach each of these to finally heal your skin. So what do we eat?! Meg is also a holistic nutritionist! According to Meg, we don't need to eliminate any one food! Instead, making sure we're focusing on gut and liver health, fiber intake, minerals, and getting back to basics is SO much more important than just randomly taking out a ton of foods we love. In this episode, we go into supplements for acne, optimizing digestion for better skin health, balancing “perfect skin health” with realistic dietary strategies, and your new perfect acne tincture recipe, I can't wait for you to hear this one! Emotional Expedition: A Journey of Healing with Meghan Thomas
In this powerful and transformative discussion with Jana Wilson, author of the prescriptive memoir: Wise Little One: Learning to Love and Listen to my Inner Child, we explore how her own personal journey led her to create this unique blend of storytelling and healing. Jana takes us through her challenging childhood in the South, with young parents, an alcoholic and abusive father, and a mother diagnosed with mental illness. Jana shares how she discovered the power of unconditional love, the importance of reparenting, and the profound impact of connecting with her inner child. Listen in as Jana and I discuss the concept of becoming a cycle breaker and how she used her imagination to manifest her dreams. We also examine the gift of trauma, the power of introversion, and Jana's connection to animals. As we uncover the beautiful story of self-discovery, self-love, and the importance of taking responsibility for our own choices, we are reminded that we can all find light even in our darkest moments. Finally, we explore the teachings of Deepak Chopra and Mark Nepo, and how their wisdom can be applied to our everyday lives. Emotional Expedition: A Journey of Healing with Meghan Thomas
In a recent podcast episode Meg had an enlightening conversation with Annabel Chown, a breast cancer survivor, architect, yoga teacher, and author. Annabel shared her journey from diagnosis to recovery, the emotional and physical challenges she faced, and how she found a new sense of purpose and direction in life. Annabel was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 31. She was working as an architect, leading a busy life, and was in the prime of her youth when the diagnosis came. The news was shocking and life-altering. The emotional toll was significant. She grappled with fear, self-consciousness, and body image issues. Despite these challenges, Annabel found solace in her yoga practice. It provided a sense of peace and connection to a part of herself that felt spacious and calm. She eventually became a yoga teacher, eager to share the benefits she had experienced with others. Annabel also underwent testing for the BRCA gene, a gene associated with a higher risk of breast and ovarian cancer. She tested positive, which led to further surgeries, including a mastectomy and the removal of her ovaries. This decision was made more complex by her desire to have a child. After a long journey, including IVF, Annabel and her husband were blessed with a son. She acknowledges the challenges of infertility, which affects one in six women, and the stress of modern life that can contribute to these struggles. Today, Annabel leads a quiet, balanced life. She wakes up early for her yoga and meditation practice, spends quality time with her son, and dedicates time to her writing. She has written a book about her journey, transforming her challenging experience into a beautiful piece of work. Annabel's story is a testament to resilience and the power of self-care. She has navigated her way through life-altering experiences, finding strength in her body, solace in her yoga practice, and a new sense of purpose in her writing. Her journey serves as an inspiration for others facing similar challenges, reminding us all of the importance of emotional readiness, self-care, and the power of sharing our stories. When we're looking for a career transition, most of us go straight to our resumes. We update our experience and polish it to better reflect what we're looking for. But we don't often stop to ask ourselves if we're truly clear about what it is we want. In times of transition, your resume is a very important marketing tool that you have at your disposal. But if you're looking for real change, simple updates might not be helping you find the best transition that suits your unique skillset. The first step on the road to change is finding clarity. Professional resume writing services can help connect the dots between who you are and what value you can offer an organization, but in order to do that, YOU MUST BE CLEAR ON WHAT YOU WANT AND WHERE YOU'RE HEADED. Today, Blake welcomes Meg Applegate, a certified resume writer and personal branding strategist who connects high-achieving women to career advancement. Recently named one of Jobscan's Top Experts to Follow on LinkedIn in 2022, her work is also featured in ForbesWomen, Fairygodboss, and Expert Resumes & LinkedIn Profiles for Managers and Executives. In this episode, you'll learn why it's important to explore your options and discover what makes you valuable to an organization— and most importantly, how to market your story to align you with the right kind of work. You'll learn why career transitions are actually beneficial pathways to discovering your unique strengths and why asking for help and guidance makes the path less rocky and a lot more enjoyable than doing it alone. What You'll Learn: Why career pivots and transitions should be normalized (6:30) How to think about your brand and create a story around it (10:32) What happens when you change jobs without really knowing what you want (19:03) Why what you can do isn't always what you can do best (26:13) The relief you get by asking for help, especially when it's from people who can understand your unique perspective (35:56) Favorite Quotes: “Having pivots and having transitions, every single person has them. So it's interesting that it feels taboo because everyone has some sort of pivot.” —Meg “The resume is a marketing tool. And if you don't know where you're going, then you don't know how to market yourself best. So it's really important that you have clarity.” —Meg “The resume writing process is a really good preparation process for the job search because you're really understanding and distilling down your value.” —Meg “When we don't understand who we are, we're living a muted life. We see signs and symptoms that we're not happy, we see all these things happening. We try to solve them. But sometimes it takes that outside perspective or that outside opportunity to really shift things. And it is life-changing.” —Blake Additional Resources: Connect with Meg: Website: https://www.hingeresume.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/megapplegate/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/hingeresume Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hingeresume/ You can snag the first module of Meg's digital course, The Resume Key - Resume 101 + Your Materials Checklist for a Top Performing Resume by clicking “Free Preview” here: https://hingeresume.thinkific.com/courses/hinge-resume-the-resume-key ------------- Rather than hoping the grass will be greener, identify what the RIGHT next step is. Today I’m chatting with Meg all about Facebook ads. You’ll want to take notes because every part of this interview is powerful. Listen in as we talk about how to get started with Facebook ads, when boost a post, the power of video view ads, and so much more. Quotes The best way to ensure that you’re going to spend more money on the platform is for you to get what you want out of your ads. - Meg I encourage everybody to take the Facebook blueprint courses… that will give you the basic introduction to what you need to know about Facebook ads. - Meg If you have a website, get that pixel on your website. If if you’re not planning on running ads right now… get the pixel on there now because it retains data for up to 6 months. - Meg Q4 is going to be the most expensive time to advertise on Facebook. - Meg Map out your funnel! What’s the process that your ideal clients are going to take to get from where they are now to where they are a client. What types of ads are going to support you as they go through the funnel. - Meg Video view ads currently generate the largest audiences at the lowest cost. You can get a video viewer for 1 - 3 cents per person into that audience. It’s a really inexpensive way to build an audience of people who are familiar with you. - Meg Having the Pixel installed allows you to track the customer journey and you can see where people are falling off. - Meg [Boosting Posts] is like the candy bar at the checkout aisle at the grocery store. You don’t need it… but here it is… 2 for a dollar! - Meg Boosting posts is great if it’s part of your strategy. - Meg Don’t just “boost” a post because Facebook is telling you that post is out performing 80% of the posts on your page. It’s not a good reason unless you have a strategy for what you’re going to do with that after the fact. - Meg We really have to approach Facebook marketing and social media marketing the same way we’d approach any type of social interaction… it’s about keeping the social aspect in social media. - Meg Links Facebook IQ: https://www.facebook.com/iq/ Facebook Newsroom: https://newsroom.fb.com/ Facebook Media: https://www.facebook.com/facebookmedia/ Facebook Blueprint: https://www.facebookblueprint.com/ Connect with Meg Website: https://www.megbrunson.com/ Business: https://eieiomarketing.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheMegBrunson/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/themegbrunson/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/megbrunson/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/themegbrunson Connect with Andréa Free Facebook Group: http://savvysocialcrew.com Instagram: http://instagram.com/onlinedrea Twitter: http://twitter.com/onlinedrea Find more episodes of the Savvy Social Podcast on the website: http://savvysocialpodcast.com Music by Alexey Anisimov
