Do you ever feel like your time and energy are stretched too thin? In this episode of Leadership is Feminine, Kris Plachy kicks off a limited series on what it truly means to be a well-resourced woman. She explores the unique challenges women in leadership face—especially the pressure to juggle it all. From running a business to managing personal responsibilities, cultural expectations often lead women to overcommit, leaving them drained and overwhelmed. But what if there were a better way? Kris introduces a powerful exercise to help listeners assess how they spend their time. By categorizing tasks into love and loathe, women can gain clarity on where their energy goes—and, more importantly, where it should go. She challenges listeners to delegate tasks that don't align with their strengths and invest in support that allows them to focus on high-impact activities. Kris gets real about the importance of time management: "A woman who is abundant in her time as a resource is a cycle breaker." Stepping into a well-resourced life isn't just about personal well-being—it's about creating the space to lead, innovate, and make a bigger impact. When women reclaim their time, they don't just transform their own lives—they drive meaningful change in their businesses, industries, and communities. If you're ready to break free from the cycle of overcommitment and start managing your time with intention, this episode is for you. Key Takeaways From This Episode Core Relationships Women Must Develop: Key relationships women must nurture across the primary elements of their lives. Time as a Resource: How societal and cultural expectations shape women's relationship with their time commitments. Expectations and Family Structure: Examining the challenges that arise when entrepreneurial goals intersect with familial responsibilities. Transition to Empowerment: Reassessing and realigning time use can lead to a more empowered and purpose-driven life. Identifying Time Sucks and Loathsome Activities: Looking at the tasks you engage in, and making intentional choices about what stays and what goes. Delegation and Support Systems: Logistical and emotional dynamics of outsourcing tasks and letting go of control Contact Information and Recommended Resources 1. When the media make excuses for failing to get you the truth, they often blame the “news cycle.” It's time to break that process. Today, Josh does so by focusing on a major issue filled with lies in the news: illegal immigration. Figures you've been hearing, and arguments about fentanyl and sex trafficking, are wrong. By failing to make this clear, the media is causing societal problems.  Immigration-related reporting failures also tie in to a statement from an Oscar-winning propagandist and a so-called “human rights activist” on a public radio show. Josh shows why this made-for-the-media line makes no sense to anyone who learns facts about the Middle East. Plus, the BBC blew it so badly that it pulled a documentary off of its platforms. Josh explains.

The period of the judges is marked by cycles of rebellion, repentance, and redemption, led by a series of charismatic leaders known as judges. These judges, empowered by God, arise to rescue Israel from their enemies when the people cry out in distress. Despite moments of spiritual revival, the book portrays a recurring pattern of moral decline and societal chaos among the Israelites, highlighting the consequences of turning away from God's ways.  Today, in a culture of moral decline, the book of Judges will challenge our church to become leaders who commit to living faithfully in response to God's love, regardless of the culture around them. This solo episode is about cycle breakers, individuals who recognize and actively work to disrupt and transform dysfunctional patterns in their families or communities. Cycle breakers go through a process of self-healing and take ownership of their healing journey. They consciously choose to address and heal themselves first before speaking out against the dysfunctional patterns. Our host, Paden, explores different examples of dysfunctional patterns, such as generational trauma and abuse, poverty mindset, and financial mismanagement. The role of a cycle breaker is challenging and often leads to being seen as the black sheep of the family. However, it is a sacred mission to divert the family lineage from dysfunction to a higher path. The episode explores the concept of being a cycle breaker in a family and the challenges and importance of breaking unhealthy patterns and generational trauma. It discusses examples of dysfunctional family dynamics, such as codependency and enmeshment, and the need for healthy boundaries. The role of a cycle breaker is to recognize and actively choose not to repeat unhealthy patterns, while also showing compassion towards family members who may perpetuate these patterns. The episode emphasizes the sacred and empowering nature of being a cycle breaker and the support of ancestors in this journey. This forum featured guest experts Natasha Silverbell and Jane Mintz, along with our host Chris Yonker, CFBA to discuss mental health and addiction in the context of personal development and family dynamics. We emphasized the importance of not merely labeling behaviors but understanding their impacts on families and businesses. Our discussion highlighted the need for empathy, open communication, and self-regulation, stressing that everyone—from family members to business advisors—plays a crucial role in supporting healing and improvement. Overall, our focus was on taking personal responsibility for wellness and the transformative power of supportive communities.   Understanding Beyond Labels We discussed how crucial it is to not to get hung up on labeling behaviors simply as "addiction" but to look deeper at how these behaviors impact personal relationships and business environments. Finding the right help to get your family on a path of open and empathetic communication can help address the root causes and effects on a family or organizational system. The Role of Self-Regulation Self-regulation emerged as a key theme, with emphasis on its importance not just in overcoming personal challenges but also in fostering healthy family and business dynamics. Managing one's emotional responses can greatly influence the overall health of relationships and professional interactions. Crafting Your Suppor System Building and maintaining a strong support system is vital not only to individuals, but the family as a whole. This system should include professionals, advisors, family members, and peers who can offer guidance and support through challenges, particularly those related to mental health and addiction. We also talked about what advisors could do to find the right help for their clients when there is a complex or sensitive challenge outside of their scope.   1. Prioritize Empathy in Communication: Emphasize the importance of understanding and empathetic communication within family and business interactions to address and resolve underlying issues more effectively. 2. Encourage Regular Mental Health Check-ins: Advocate for routine mental health assessments within family businesses to identify and address issues early, before they escalate into more significant problems. 3. Implement Self-Regulation Practices: Find professionals to provide training on self-regulation techniques for family members and business leaders to help manage stress, improve personal resilience, and foster a more supportive working environment. 4. Establish a Strong Support Network: Encourage the formation or strengthening of a support network that includes mental health professionals, experienced advisors, and peer support groups to provide necessary resources and assistance. 5. Foster a Culture of Openness and Non-Judgment: Work towards creating an environment where family members and business partners feel safe to express their concerns and challenges without fear of judgment, thereby promoting transparency and trust.   The next Family Business Executive Forum, Closing the Gap and Creating Your Most Impactful Company Culture: How Family Leaders Can Work Together to Weave Innovation and Legacy Even When You're At a Generational Standstill, takes place on June 25th at 12pm ET. I want to break cycles of fear, shame, deprivation, dysfunction, and trauma. I want to provide paths of healing, wholeness, delight, health, and love. So how do we start? In this episode, I share 3 truths I've realized and 4 steps I've taken, along with specific stories, to help change the narrative for my kids and break toxic cycles. It's not too late to say, “I've been doing things one way and I want to do things another way.” Soaring Child: Thriving with ADHDA place where you will learn how to address your child's ADHD symptoms naturally..Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifySupport the showJoin the new FB group here!Check out the new shop on Buy Me a Coffee and please consider becoming a $5 supporter of the show (I need 8 per month to cover the out of pocket expenses of producing the podcast)I'm so glad you are here! Intergenerational trauma refers to the transmission of unresolved trauma and its psychological, emotional, or even physical effects from one generation to another. This phenomenon can manifest in various ways, impacting individuals' mental health, coping mechanisms, and relational patterns. The cycle of intergenerational trauma underscores the importance of acknowledging, understanding, and actively addressing inherited wounds to break free from its influence on future generations. On today's On Health episode I'm joined by the incredible Mariel Buque, PhD, author of Break the Cycle: who wants us all to learn to unravel the threads of family trauma, and becoming cycle breakers so we can heal the burdens of suffering carried forward by so many families across generations.  In this powerful episode we explore:  What intergenerational trauma is and how it can affect our physiology, mental health, relationships, economics, and more.  The profound connections between our individual experiences and the echoes of our ancestors' pain. Resilience and stress tolerance as essential tools for breaking the intergenerational trauma cycle. How to expand your window of resilience and respond to life's challenges with greater awareness and purpose." How compassion becomes a powerful ally, fostering understanding and acceptance of our shared human struggles." How mothers can be preemptive cycle breakers, initiating the healing journey even before conceiving. The landscape of family estrangement and tools for reconciliation before resorting to estrangement. Mariel's approach centers around the concept of an upward spiral, emphasizing small, consistent mindful actions for reshaping the nervous system. Resources for those seeking guidance, including Mariel's book, "Break the Cycle: A Guide to Healing Intergenerational Trauma." What makes a cycle breaker? In this episode, we are privileged to sit down and have a profound conversation with Dr. Mariel Buqué, a remarkable leader in the field of trauma. Dr. Mariel holds a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from Columbia University and is now a distinguished Trauma Psychologist. She's the author of Break The Cycle: A Guide To Healing Intergenerational Trauma, a must-read for anyone seeking to understand and heal from the impact of intergenerational trauma. In this episode Dr Mariel shares her own story of generational trauma and her path to healing. What truly stands out in our conversation is the revelation that when Dr. Mariel was pursuing her degree, the clinical model all psychologists were trained under was not based on trauma. Students, including Dr. Mariel, were consistently sharing stories of trauma repeating across generations, but the term "intergenerational trauma" was never used throughout her years of study, and this was less than a decade ago. This fact highlights how recent the concept of intergenerational trauma is. We are among the first generations with the tools to comprehend how generational trauma is perpetuated, how we can address it, and what it means for our descendants. We are at a unique juncture in history, with a golden opportunity to break these cycles for our families – an honor and privilege we can't take lightly. Dr. Mariel shares invaluable insights in this episode, and we invite you to join us in exploring her story and expertise. Hey there, Cycle Breaker! Welcome to my channel, where we embark on a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and healing. I'm Heidi Rain, a passionate codependency expert, and today, I'm sharing a personal story close to my heart – one that revolves around the profound realization that loving yourself is indeed a challenging but transformative process. In this raw and honest podcast, I delve into the depths of my own journey to self-love, where I found myself tangled in the web of codependency. Believe me, it wasn't an easy road. I understand firsthand how hard it is to confront the shadows that hold us back from living authentically. But rest assured, my friends, there is hope, and I'm here to guide you through it all. Throughout the podcast, I'll walk you through my step-by-step process for breaking free from codependency – a process I've developed through years of research, experience, and unwavering dedication. I firmly believe that by sharing my story and insights, we can pave the way for a brighter, more fulfilling future. One of the fundamental pillars of loving yourself is learning to detach from toxic people. It's not just about cutting them out of your life; it's about recognizing their impact on your well-being and summoning the courage to let go. I know how daunting it can be to release those ties, but trust me, it's an essential act of self-compassion. Loving yourself isn't a spa day filled with temporary bliss; it's a lifelong journey of growth and acceptance. It's about being real with yourself and embracing your imperfections. In this video, I lay bare the truth – the need to confront the toxic influences that surround us and, perhaps, even within us. As you listen, I encourage you to approach this process with kindness and patience. Grieving the loss of toxic relationships might be painful, but it opens up space for the nurturing love you deserve – a love that starts from within and radiates to all aspects of your life. If my words resonate with you, and you're ready to embark on this transformative journey of self-discovery, consider enrolling in my codependency and toxic relationship recovery course at https://www.lovecoachheidi.com/codependency-coaching/ Together, we'll uncover the strength within, break free from unhealthy patterns, and unleash the love that has always been within you. Remember, my dear friends, you are worthy of love, happiness, and fulfillment. Let's take this incredible step together and blossom into the best version of ourselves. Hit that play button, join the conversation in the comments, and let's begin this empowering chapter of your life. Stay strong, stay inspired, and always remember – you are never alone in this journey of love and healing. With love and big hugs, Heidi Rain

I turned 51 yesterday. But because I was the black sheep in my family growing up, I never felt celebrated. And consequently, I still struggle with birthdays. Here's the thing, though. I would much rather own the pain of being the black sheep than give up on my calling in order to fit in. So, how do you move through the judgement and loneliness that comes from breaking unhealthy cycles in your family? How do you transition from black sheep to GOAT? On this episode of Lead with the Enneagram, I explain how the Enneagram gives you the self-awareness to be the cycle breaker in your family and fully embody who you're designed to be. 230: Are You a Cycle-Breaker? How to Become the Parent You Wish You'd Had

Break the cycle and be the parent you wish you had, for a lifetime of meaningful connections with your kids. Today I'm focusing on cycle breaking and the parent-child relationship. I had a past client who had reached out to me, wanting to re-connect and catch up. Her daughter was in 8th grade at the time I guided her and was rebelling against her mother's controlling tactics. The mother had a deep desire to be the mother she wished she'd had, so she worked with me to learn better tools.  As we were getting back together years later, the daughter was now a senior in college, and she was calling her mother for advice. The mother realized she had become the parent she wished she had had and that she was a cycle breaker. To do some self-reflection to see how you might become a cycle breaker, I suggest journaling about three things: what you're anxious about, what you wish your parents had done differently, and what you can say to your kid to make them feel seen and understood. "Becoming the parent that you wished you had had and accepting the cycle breaker invitation is like the fountain of youth - nothing feels better." In this episode, you will learn the following: 1. How can becoming a cycle-breaker be the “fountain of youth?” 2. What could parents do to become their child's "person" and create a strong connection? 3. What is one thing parents can say to make their child feel seen and understood? And much more!  As always, thanks for listening, and be sure and head over to Facebook and you can join my free group Mastermind Parenting Community, where we post tips and tools and do pop up Live conversations where I do extra teaching and coaching to support you in helping your strong-willed children so that they can FEEL better and DO better.
