What if you could build a private practice that fits your family's needs, gives you the flexibility you crave, and allows you to grow a team of passionate clinicians? Today's guest is doing exactly that, and I can't wait for you to hear her journey!I'm thrilled to introduce you to Sarah Landry, a speech-language pathologist with 22 years of experience and the founder and owner of Talk Blossom, a speech therapy practice serving families across the Treasure Valley in Meridian, Idaho. In this episode, Sarah shares how she went from saying “never” and doubting herself to confidently leading a growing practice, driven by a desire to serve the whole family, not just the child in front of her.Sarah's therapeutic approach centers on family-centered therapy and a parent coaching model, built on the belief that lasting progress happens when parents are involved in the therapeutic process. Talk Blossom offers speech, language, and feeding therapy for pediatric clients of all ages, with sessions designed to be both effective and engaging for kids.Today, Sarah leads a team of five speech-language pathologists, fostering a collaborative culture where clinicians work together to support families and each other. Her work has earned her recognition as one of Idaho's Best in Specialty Medicine, and she's also an active advocate for the field, having recently spoken at her state capitol in support of Medicaid coverage for speech services.Outside of patient care, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and supporting her team.In Today's Episode, We Discuss:How a move out of state gave her the reset she needed to finally take the leapThe power of starting with just one private-pay client and growing from thereWhat it really looks like to transition from solo provider to employerWhy letting go of control and trusting your team is the secret to getting your freedom backSarah is truly living proof that you don't have to have a master plan from day one. Her journey started with a simple desire for more freedom after her son was born, and it grew step-by-step into something far bigger than she ever imagined. That philosophy serving the whole family continues to shape everything about Talk Blossom today. She says it best herself: "You're more capable than you think you are."Whether you're a new clinician dreaming of private practice or an established owner looking to expand, Sarah's story shows that taking that first step even when it's scary is the most important thing you can do.If you're ready to stop waiting and start building a practice that's truly aligned with your goals, Private Practice School is here to help. We start with a Personalized Private Practice Plan and then give you the tools, such as the Life First calendar and our Numbers Made Simple Calculators, and me in your corner every week, whether you're opening the doors or growing what you've already built. Please visit www.PrivatePracticeSchool.com to learn more, and follow me on Instagram @independentclinician for more tips, inspiration, and resources to support your private practice journey.Resources Mentioned:Follow Sarah onInstagram: instagram.com/talk.blossom/ Facebook: facebook.com/talkblossom/ Check out her website: www.talkblossom.com Where We Can Connect:Follow the Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/private-practice-success-stories/id1374716199Follow Me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/independentclinician/Follow Me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jena.castrocasbon/

The ancients didn't just fear death — they weaponized it, leaving behind curses in hieroglyphics meant to haunt anyone brave enough to look.EPISODE BLOG PAGE (includes sources): https://weirddarkness.com/CursesCarvedInStoneREAD or DOWNLOAD the full transcript of this episode: https://weirddarkness.tiny.us/3cfn27cpFEATURED STORIES IN THIS EPISODE: They say grief lingers in the house where children were murdered… but so does something colder, crueler — and far more dangerous. (The Horror of Waupun, Wisconsin) *** In the haunted heart of Edinburgh, there's a pub where the drinks are strong and the screams are stronger. (The Spirits of Banshee Labyrinth) *** The last person to see Virginia alive passed a polygraph — but his wife said he didn't come home until hours later. (The Vanishing of Virginia Carpenter) *** Asteroids, alien civilizations, even cosmic plagues — the real terror isn't what we can see in the sky… it's what we can't. (Space Threats to Earth) *** It started with flirtation, turned into an affair, and ended with a gunshot echoing through the cold night air in a Walgreen's parking lot. (Three Shots In The Night) *** They carved their warnings into stone 4,000 years ago — and now, after centuries of silence, the hieroglyphic curses of the dead are being read aloud once again. Copyright ©2026, Weird Darkness.Originally aired: April 01, 2025Weird Darkness explores ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic curses, the 1948 disappearance of Virginia Carpenter, asteroid and alien threats from space, Edinburgh's haunted Banshee Labyrinth, the Walgreens murder of Emmett Corrigan, and the 1865 Wisconsin ax killings linked to the restless dead of Waupun. It opens with curses carved into ancient Egyptian tombs, from the 4,000-year-old Execration Texts to warnings left by Harkhuf, Ankhtifi, Khentika Ikhekhi, Hezi, Sarenput I, Ankhmahor, Senenmut, and Pharaoh Amenhotep. These hieroglyphic threats promised strangulation, mutilation, divine judgment, destroyed families, and even attacks by crocodiles and serpents against anyone who violated the dead. From there, 21-year-old Virginia Carpenter vanishes after arriving in Denton, Texas, on June 1, 1948, to attend the Texas State College for Women. Taxi driver Edgar Ray “Jack” Zachary said he left her outside Brackenridge Hall with two unidentified men beside a cream-colored convertible, but Carpenter never checked in, and later leads—including a possible Arkansas sighting and a 1998 burial-site tip—failed to solve the case.Next, the danger moves into space with asteroid 2024 YR4, theories about weaponized asteroid-deflection technology, Cixin Liu's “dark forest” view of hostile alien civilizations, and Fred Hoyle and Chandra Wickramasinghe's idea that viruses could arrive from space. The episode also traces fears of catastrophe from the sky back to the ancient Cosmic Hunt tradition and the Sámi story of an arrow striking the pole star. The episode then descends beneath Edinburgh's Old Town into The Banshee Labyrinth, a rock and metal pub built partly inside the South Bridge vaults. Reports include a screaming banshee in a gray dress, the ghost of a child named Molly who disappeared in 1814, the mischievous Ole Jock in the women's restroom, and unexplained cold spots, moving glasses, and shadows inside the historic underground chambers. From Edinburgh, the story shifts to Meridian, Idaho, where attorney Emmett Corrigan's affair with paralegal Kandi Hall ended in three gunshots outside a Walgreens on March 11, 2011. Kandi's husband, Rob Hall, survived a gunshot wound to the head, Corrigan died from wounds to the heart and skull, and Hall was convicted of second-degree murder in 2012 and sentenced to 30 years in prison. The episode closes with the December 3, 1865 murders of three children at Anton and Amelia Koch's farm near Burlington, Wisconsin, where hired man Peter Frahm was convicted after bloody footprints, blood on his boots, and a stolen coin pouch tied him to the ax killings. Frahm died by hanging in the Wisconsin State Penitentiary in Waupun on March 21, 1871, and reports of whispers, cold presences, apparitions of children, and a darker shadow have since attached themselves to both the old Koch property and the unmarked graves of the State Prison Cemetery.LIKE WHAT YOU'RE HEARING? Fear, anger, grief, and stress all live in a real map inside your body called the meridians, and in this first episode of our four part series, I show you what the meridians are, why your emotions get stuck in them, and how fear in particular lives in the kidney and bladder and can finally be moved through Kundalini Yoga chanting and the breath, prana. This is Episode 1 of a four-part series walking the meridians, the energy pathways that carry prana through your body, one emotion and one pair of organs at a time. The meridians are where your emotions actually live and move through, and once you understand this map, your body stops being a mystery and you release the fear at the root. We begin with fear, because the body has to feel safe before anything else can heal/evolve, and fear lives in the Water element, in the kidney and the bladder and is once of the most common emotional patterns that is passed down in lineages.Along the way, this episode shows why understanding the meridians is not optional for women. There is a mental health crisis among women right now, and its real root is a fear that lives in the body and gets passed down the mother line, one that cannot be prayed or medicated away. We look honestly at how women's bodies actually work, how women in crisis have been failed for generations, and the heartbreaking case of Lindsay Clancy, as the proof of why this holistic body, mind, soul-based medicine cannot wait. What you'll learn:- What the meridians are, the twelve energy pathways that carry prana through your body, and why your emotions flow or become stagnant in the rivers - How the meridians work: yin and yang, the six organ pairs, the five elements, and the emotion each one carries- The two vessels up your spine that carry your ancestors' energy, and why restoring flow in the meridians is generational- Why fear lives in the kidney and bladder meridians, and the body clock that explains why so many women crash between 3 and 7 in the evening- The science that will give you chills: your adrenal glands, which make your fear hormones, sit directly on top of your kidneys, exactly where the meridian map placed fear thousands of years ago- Why the women's mental health crisis, and the Lindsay Clancy case, prove this matters now more than ever - The Chattr Chakkr Vartee Kundalini Yoga mantra, why chanting this mantra moves fear when words cannot, and Yogananda's Christ Consciousness teaching on fear and the Cosmic Mother- Plus Three things you can begin this week to move fear out of your body**Chapters:**00:00 You can't pray your fear away02:00 Why this matters for women04:00 What the meridians are07:00 How the meridians work: yin, yang, pairs, and elements10:00 The vessels that carry your ancestors13:00 Women, fear, and a system that fails them: the Lindsay Clancy case20:00 Fear in the kidney and bladder, and the body clock24:00 The science: your adrenals sit on your kidneys29:00 The mantra that moves fear33:00 The Christ Consciousness perspective37:00 Three things to begin this weekWelcome to the Sovereign Sisterhood Movement Sovereign Sister!I am Veronica Barragan, founder of the Sovereign Sisterhood Sanctuary, Kundalini Yoga therapist, and author of *Tending the Ancestral Garden, Reclaiming the Sanctuary*. A viral documentary sent thousands of people rushing to pull their teeth. The theory behind it — the focal infection theory — dates back to a dentist in the 1920s named Weston Price, was largely rejected by the mid-twentieth century, and yet has roared back to life on the internet with enough force to create genuine panic. Dr. Chris Motley isn't here to add to that panic. He's here to do something more useful: look at the science and arguments behind both sides of the issue, and surface the conversation about oral health and the whole-body connection that nobody in mainstream dentistry wants to have. In this episode you'll discover: The focal infection theory explained — where it came from, why it was rejected, and why it went viral again a hundred years later The verified research finding that should be in every dentist's waiting room: oral bacteria linked to Alzheimer's disease has been found in patients' brains, and gum bacteria has been found in heart arteries What the meridian tooth chart is — the ancient Chinese medicine map that connected every single tooth to a specific organ thousands of years before modern diagnostics existed How EAV testing (electroacupuncture according to Voll) measures the electrical conductivity of meridian points — and what it reveals about the organ connected to a tooth with a root canal Why some patients live perfectly well with root canals — and the acupuncture assessment Dr. Motley uses to determine when a tooth is creating systemic stress and when it isn't The truth about metal fillings and mercury vaporization — and why drilling out a stable filling could actually cause more harm than leaving it in place Why a cone beam 3D scan reveals hidden infections that a standard flat dental X-ray completely misses The questions Dr. Motley recommends asking your dentist before agreeing to a root canal — including whether the nerve is still alive and what happens if the procedure fails How MicrogenDX oral testing screens for over 50,000 bacterial species in the mouth — and why standard dental culture tests miss the vast majority of what's living there The oral bacteria most strongly linked to gingivitis, Alzheimer's disease and cardiovascular disease — and the herbal protocol Dr. Motley uses to reduce bacterial load naturally Why oil pulling with coconut oil, Golden Thread Supreme, Melia Supreme and Noni (Morinda) are Dr. Motley's go-to tools for oral microbiome health How the lung meridian connects to skin health, and what sores or chronic inflammation inside the nostrils are actually signalling about deeper organ function Why finding a dentist who understands and respects the mouth-body connection is Dr. Motley's single most important first step for anyone dealing with chronic oral or dental health issues Whether you have a root canal already, are considering one, or have simply been told your teeth are fine while the rest of your body isn't — this episode will permanently change the way you think about your mouth. On this week's episode of the podcast, I am joined by Michael Kaminsky, co-founder and co-CEO of Recast. We explore the rise of open-source Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) tools and the challenges of measuring modern ad spend. Among other things, we discuss:Whether open-source MMM libraries like Robyn and Meridian are truly unbiased tools or subtle instruments for big tech self-gradingHow marketers can effectively evaluate the accuracy of MMM outputs through techniques like parameter recovery and predictive forecastingWhy smaller, performance-driven brands might actually find more value in last-touch attribution than in complex econometric modelingIf the inherent uncertainty in MMM estimates makes them fundamentally incompatible with the fast-paced feedback loops of digital advertisingWhat role generative AI and large language models play in democratizing access to sophisticated marketing data science analysisWhen a brand should transition from simple attribution methods to a multi-layered approach involving incrementality and econometric modelingHow the shift toward CTV and non-trackable channels is forcing a resurgence in probabilistic measurement frameworks like MMMThanks to the sponsors of this week's episode of the Mobile Dev Memo podcast:INCRMNTAL. What if cancer isn't just about mutated cells, but about a garden that's gone untended for years? In this episode of Integrative Cancer Solutions, Dr. K sits down with Dr. Yi Song, a pathologist trained at Brown University who comes from generations of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, to talk about why she walked away from conventional cancer research and built a practice around treating the root cause instead of chasing symptoms. They cover why standard lab work often misses what's actually happening inside the body, the six principles behind her book The Regeneration Effect: Sacred Wisdom for Staying Young, and why she believes stem cell therapy works best as early prevention rather than a last resort. The conversation moves between hard science and ancient wisdom, from oxidative stress and DNA damage to meridians, natural rhythm, and the kidney's role as the body's energetic reserve. If you're curious about a different way to think about aging, chronic disease, and what healing actually requires, this one is worth the full listen.Key Takeaways:0:00 Introduction1:15 From generations of Chinese medicine to a pathology PhD at Brown6:21 Why pathology treats symptoms instead of the root cause of cancer9:49 What disease really means before your labs ever catch it13:29 Western medicine digs the well after the fire has already started22:05 The six principles behind The Regeneration Effect35:22 Stem cells as firewood for your body's aging fire38:21 Cancer as the best gift: your garden full of weeds Schedule a Free 15-Min Cancer/Lyme Consultation at The Karlfeldt Center: 208-338-8902Resources:The Regeneration Effect: Sacred Wisdom for Staying Young (pre-order) - https://book.regenerationeffect.comFree e-book, Tending Your Body Like a Garden - https://gift.regenerationeffect.com Medical Disclaimer: This content is for educational purposes only and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or replace professional medical advice. A strategy can sound disciplined until the board has to decide what it will actually measure. In this episode of The Executive Compensation Podcast, Ryan Harvey, Darren Moskovitz, and Virginia Rhodes break down one of the hardest parts of incentive design: turning broad business strategy into a focused set of measurable outcomes. The challenge is not just choosing metrics. It is deciding what matters most, what should be left out, and how much complexity a plan can carry before it starts to lose clarity. The conversation explores why companies often overload scorecards, how boards can distinguish true strategic outcomes from management activity, and why fewer measures can sometimes create a stronger, more defensible plan. Ryan, Darren, and Virginia also connect the discussion to Meridian's Client Alert on SEC disclosure reviews and the growing pressure for companies to explain which metrics are truly material. For compensation committees, this episode is about more than measurement. It is about judgment, tradeoffs, and building incentive plans that management, boards, and shareholders can actually understand. In this episode, you will learn:How boards translate strategy into measurable outcomesWhy too many metrics can weaken incentive designHow to tell the difference between a strategic outcome and a management activityWhy simplification can make a plan more defensibleHow disclosure expectations affect metric selectionWhat committees should question before approving a scorecard The best incentive plans are not the ones that measure the most, they are the ones that measure what matters.

Thinking about upgrading your airplane before you sell it? You could spend thousands and still not get that money back.In this episode of The Malibu Guru Podcast, Joe sits down with Casey Aviation sales specialist Eric Earl to discuss which aircraft upgrades actually improve resale value—and which ones are better left for the next owner. They break down some of the biggest decisions aircraft owners face before bringing an airplane to market, including:• Should you install or upgrade onboard radar?• Is a new propeller worth the investment?• Should you overhaul an engine that is approaching TBO?• Will fresh paint or a new interior help the airplane sell?• Can a modern avionics panel increase value or speed up the sale?• Is it better to simply sell the aircraft as-is?The answer often comes down to timing. Upgrades can make an aircraft more attractive and help it sell faster, but most sellers will not recover the full cost, especially when the improvements are completed immediately before listing.Joe and Eric also explain why owners should consider upgrading earlier, enjoy the improvements during ownership, and bring a more desirable, ready-to-fly aircraft to market later. Are you preparing to sell your aircraft? Let us know which upgrades you are considering in the comments.Casey Aviation can help you evaluate your airplane, price it accurately, and develop a strategy to bring it to market.Learn more about Casey Aviation: www.flycasey.com

(Riverton, WY) – After a wild and successful conclusion to the Babe Ruth Baseball State Tournament in Gillette, the Riverton 14U squad earned the opportunity to continue their summertime fun. Riverton finsihed their state run against the same Cheyenne team that had defeated them in last year’s championship game and had gotten the better of them earlier in 2026 pool-play. After playing five games in three days, neither team had many pitching options remaining. The scoreboard in the title game made that no secret. Riverton 25 Cheyenne 23. A championship and some revenge for the kids from the Rendezvous City. Head Coach Casey Parker and his athletes now prepare to head to Meridian, Idaho July 19-22 for the Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament. They’ll play against champs from Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. County 10 extended an invitation for the entire team to come join us for some interview fun. Greetings, Slushies! Today's encore edition features special guest editor, the Pulitzer Prize winning poet Gregory Pardlo. His most recent collection is called “Spectral Evidence.” Listen along to the discussion of two poems from Daniel Biegelson which were ultimately included in his book “Of Being Neighbors” from Ricochet Editions. Thanks, as always, for listening! On this week's episode of the Slush Pile, we review two prose poems by the author Daniel Biegelson labeled “Neighbors III” and “Neighbors IV”. Kathleen and the gang welcome Pulitzer Prize winner Gregory Pardlo to the editorial table for this very exciting iteration of the podcast. Everyone was intrigued to delve into the works Daniel Biegelson provided for us and were quite pleased to find that they offered interesting conversation. Daniel Biegelson is the author of the chapbook Only the Borrowed Light (VERSE) and Director of the Visiting Writers Series at Northwest Missouri State University. An Associate Editor for The Laurel Review, his poems have appeared in or are forthcoming from Cream City Review, Denver Quarterly, DIAGRAM, FIELD, Meridian, Salt Hill Journal, & Third Coast, among other places. He hails from New Jersey—a fact that means more to him than it probably should. Did these poets survive the gauntlet? Listen on to find out! Let us know what you think about these three poems and this episode on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook with #HelloNeighbor Present at the Editorial Table: Kathleen Volk Miller Marion Wrenn Tim Fitts Samantha Neugebauer Jason Schneiderman Engineering Producer: Joe Zang Derek Grebis Daniel Biegelson Neighbors (II) Replace Glass Heart with Scalpel. Call for rain. Glisten. Close up. Magnify a leaf until the drop brims with color. Replace leaf with wind. Every June we lose limbs to straight line winds—elm, maple, oak, ash, etc., etc. They come knocking at night. Redact redundancy. Extinguish the list. Insert space. Remove the catalog. Remove, stack, and mulch the dead wood. Map my internal geography. I am a bowl of cold plums. I am a body of words in uproar and otherwise. Replace words with birds. Fill a tree. Take your pick. Redact free will. Replace map with mine. Relieve the workers. Every day we leave labor(s) behind. Exchange labor(s) with neighbor(s).The dark soil laced with slim roots swells and subsides beneath us. As the tide. Breathing. Who are you. Extinguish the implicit. We are the answer. Some of us are no longer breathing. I am used to defending the singularity of our experiences, but grow concerned about reducing the dead to their individuality. Redact redeem. We linger longer in blue light. We are not what we say or do. Neighbors (III) Replace dog with brother. Take walks on burnt grass and return under treeless sky. Exchange directives for best practices. Practice your run along the fence line. Monarchs carry on along the highways lined with causal wildflowers. Extinguish your sense of silence. You let your dog shit in my yard. The ocean levels rise. Mortgage rates rise. Don't pretend to love one another. Turn your predatory beak. Redact the brackish ocean. Turn it black and red. Exchange ocean for consumption. Predatory lending of labor. Be still. We are the colony of bees in collapse and also the tractor trailer stocked with hives and the long driver on the CB radio and the farmers waiting for pollinators. See the red dust clouds rolling. See the black clouds closing. A tongue over a top lip. Bite hard and rain. Extinguish the dog barking. Redact the self. Exchange dog for children. Barking for howling. There is a wall beyond which our labor persists without us and we don't dare to look. Replace words with words. Yours or mine. We don't act upon what we see. Redact the sea. We are the murmurations leafing out over the highway. Pouring over the sky. We suffer decentered as we imagine stone. Human again. We don't know each other at all.
