Former GOP consultant Bunni Pounds may have lost an election for U.S. Congress, but she gained valuable experience. And she's using that experience to mobilize Christians to come out and vote. In 2020, some 25 million sat on the sidelines and didn't cast their ballots. Now Pounds, from the great state of Texas, is pulling out all the political stops to make a serious dent in that number. She's created an organization that shows churches how to get their congregations involved in praying, engaging, registering, and researching candidates and issues. On this episode of Lighthouse Faith podcast, recorded at the NRB Convention in Nashville, Pounds talks about her book "Jesus and Politics: One Woman's Walk With God in a Mudslinging Profession." The bottom line is, if Christians want to live out a biblical worldview, then they must lobby government; because government has the power to subvert and control their lives. Pounds says the problem has been that "We keep this separation between what we think is secular and sacred, and not see that God should encompass every part of our life, even our civic duties." In this episode, the guys interview minister and YouTuber Allen Parr at the NRB Convention in Orlando and discuss the necessity for robust theological understanding, especially in an era where it's becoming increasingly difficult to differentiate the real from the artificial. Exploring the roots of apologetics and its importance in faith conversations, the guys discuss cultural shifts and how faith deconstruction has become prevalent, making it even more critical to have a firm grasp on apologetics. Then, they move the spotlight onto progressive Christianity, examining its rise within the church and the potential pitfalls it might pose to true biblical understanding. While the progressive movement may seem appealing to some, there is need for caution. The guys emphasize the importance of a grounded biblical understanding to avoid potential misinterpretations that could lead away from true biblical teachings. By thoroughly understanding the Word of God and being aware of false teachings, believers can equip themselves with the necessary tools to safeguard their faith. These issues and others are also explored in Allen's book, Misled: 7 Lies That Distort the Gospel (and How You Can Discern the Truth). This podcast episode offers an insightful journey of faith, theology, and apologetics in the age of progressive Christianity. It challenges listeners to delve deeper into their understanding of faith, scrutinize their beliefs in light of the Bible, and equip themselves to navigate the challenges posed by shifting cultural norms. This episode was recorded at NRB 2023 International Christian Media Convention in Orlando, Florida.Living Waters' newest pro-life film What Is It? will be released worldwide—and your church is invited to participate by hosting a screening for your congregation. Thanks for listening! Today's guest is Jen Morgan. Jen is author of the book Bring it On. We actually met at the NRB Convention in 2021 when we were both releasing our books at the same time. We have a great conversation about having a Godly marriage, growing her relationship with Jesus later in life as her faith matured vs. following religious routines. And she encourages women to take off their masks (which I love of course), dive into the ditches, and lift each other up and encourage their fellow sisters in Christ. When I met Kelly Lester at the NRB Convention in March, I knew I had to have her on the podcast! At that time, I only knew one part of her story. It was only the beginning! This one is definitely needed in this time we are living in, especially today being midterm election day! Kelly talks about her own personal abortion story, working in an abortion clinic and how that transformed her life into where she is today. She is now helping women coming out of that line of work and dedicating her life to fighting against abortion, while loving the women healing from their own experiences. This episode talks about a lot of different sensitive subjects and is so important to share with the people around you! It will transition into discussions that need to be had! Bio: Kelly's story is one that covers so many difficult and painful topics in our world today. Child molestation, raped as a teen, several abortions, drug dealing, eating disorders, homosexuality, pornography, prostitution, and even working in the clinic where she had her first abortion. But beauty triumphs from the ashes, and Kelly is a testament to how God can clean all the dirty parts of a painful life story and make it brand new. Now a wife and mother of six children, Kelly loves to share her story to give hope to the most desperate situations proving that God can save anybody. On this week's podcast, I am excited to introduce you to Benny DiChiara. I met him at the NRB Convention in March and we hit it off right away! His story and his love for God is contagious, as is his passion to share about how God completely transformed his life and how He can do it for you! When a traumatic brain injury nearly took singer/songwriter Benny DiChiara's life and his capacity to create music, it was his faith that helped him navigate the long, often winding road to recovery. Today, he puts that experience to use as he shares God's goodness with others through word and song. A living testament to the healing power of an all-mighty God, Benny DiChiara and his band Empowered are proof-positive that, while God's plans are not always our plans, they are always higher and greater. Since that traumatic event, God has opened the doors for the singer/songwriter/survivor to share his testimony and his music all over the world--most recently on national and international media outlets, including CBN's The 700 Club, Cornerstone Television Network's flagship show, Hope Today, NRBTV's award-winning TV show Babbie's House, Inspiration.org, nationally syndicated radio show Bill Martinez Live! (airing in 300+ U.S. markets), popular Baton Rouge, Louisiana, lifestyle publication, 225 Magazine, and many more. I met Rachel Bruno at the NRB Convention at the beginning of March. I heard her story and had all of the feelings! I knew she needed to come on the podcast to tell her story. This is a longer episode, but it is such an important story for everyone to hear. There was another very similar case that happened in the last few weeks and I didn't realize how big of a problem this is. Rachel is a wife to her husband of 19 years, and a mom of two boys. As a business and communication specialist, her goals were to start a business, and become financially independent so she could start a family. Things drastically changed in the summer of 2015, shortly after the birth of her second child. Rachel's faith carried her through the unimaginable. Her 7-week-old baby and toddler son were seized by Child Protective Services when her newborn sustained critical cranial injuries while in the care of a nanny. She was evicted from her own home and had to endure an arduous court case to prove her innocence. Rachel is now an author and public speaker. Her focus is to educate families while being a voice for those victimized by the unconstitutional clutches of Family Court and Child Protective Services. Through the pain of her experience, she came to the realization of her calling: to fearlessly proclaim the role of women in the family and the gift that comes with it. “Sweden sent all their kids to school for two years; not one kid died. But it was irrelevant to Americans who, like sheep, ruined their child's lives. That is how bad totalitarianism is: people will sacrifice their children to the state. Child sacrifice did not end in ancient Canaan.” A type of extreme secularism has taken over in the United States and the world. It has taken over each person's natural search for meaning, and manipulated it toward political agendas. According to Dennis Prager, host of The Dennis Prager Show and co-founder of PragerU, this secularist extremism is behind policies that sacrifice the health and wellbeing of children at the altar of safety. It has also redefined morality in the name of politics, and is ruining science in the name of wokeism. We spoke to Prager at the 2022 NRB Convention about the need to bring the focus back to freedom. ⭕️ Stay up-to-date with Josh with the Crossroads NEWSLETTER
Problems for the United States and the world are growing. COVID-19 became “political football” and was utilized by authoritarians for their own gain. Russia may expand its war with Ukraine, China may take the opportunity to invade Taiwan, America is facing skyrocketing oil costs, and the U.S.-led international order is being challenged by new systems both foreign and domestic. According to former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, however, these growing challenges for the United States could also start political changes in America—especially in the coming 2022 midterm elections. We sat down with him at the 2022 NRB Convention to speak about the changes he sees coming.

"Jesus can lift our hearts, soothe our sorrows, heal our wounds, and drive away our fears." Those words sound like something Franklin Graham or John MacArthur would say. But on today's edition of Family Talk, you'll discover that America's 40th President, Ronald Reagan, made that declaration. In his 1983 speech at the National Religious Broadcasters convention, this God-fearing president cited Isaiah 40:8 which says, "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God shall stand forever." Reagan's contention that "the Bible can touch our hearts, order our minds, refresh our souls" is as true today as it was then.

Col. Allen West. Coffee Talk Topic: Fight for Life with Terri Conn and Austin Peck Fight for Life. Our 50th episode honors the 54 million+ children who lost their lives due to the act of abortion. Host Brandee Nielsen says: "In 1973, Roe v. Wade was based on the rape argument claimed by Norma McCorvey. Norma was the plaintiff Jane Roe, who claimed gang-rape as the reason she needed an abortion. Years later, Norma McCorvey admitted that the rape story was a lie. Fabricated to garner sympathy for the pro-choice cause. Out of the hundreds of thousands of abortions that occur each year since, for example in the year 2011 when over 730 thousand abortions were reported, (and that's only the number that was reported), less than 1% occurred because of rape. " This show offers intense dialogue on the subject, quite possibly in a way you've not heard before. Grab yourself a cup-of-joe and strap your faith-belts on in preparation to receive the riveting truth about abortion and the church! Featured Guests: Terri Conn-Peck and Austin Peck Terri Conn is an Emmy nominated actress, producer, and writer. She is best known for her work in daytime drama roles on As the World Turns, and One Life to Live. Terri married her former As the World Turns co-star, Austin Peck in July of 2011. Austin is also a director and writer, best known for his work in daytime soap operas. God helped Terri and Austin to see that the talents He blessed them with match perfectly with their passion for sharing the love of Christ with as many people as possible, through media. They say they are ready to fight fire with fire for their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, including the fight against abortion. Brandee had the privilege of meeting Terri and Austin at the NRB Convention in February of 2018 and was awestruck by their hearts for Jesus and the right to life. After a brief, yet profound conversation about the subject of abortion and the Church, Brandee knew they had to share their message publicly, starting with Christian Coffee Talk.
