GUEST OVERVIEW: While the war in Ukraine rules our geopolitical headlines, there is another conflict on the rise: the „inevitable war“ with China, which US Generals Mike Minahan, Patrick Ryder and Ben Hodges have predicted for probably 2025. While China is an economic competitor for the USA for No.1 position, it has no track record as a military hegemon. Prof. Emeritus Dr. Wolfram Elsner is a German economist specialising on China. In this episode of the Dirk Pohlmann Show he will sort through the prejudices we have about China, how that came about, and positions non US countries could consider in the geopolitical tectonic movements between USA, China and Russia.
Maria Manaura, 32, has found herself facing law enforcement on no less than eight occasions in the half-year since she arrived from Venezuela. Currently, she resides at the once-renowned Row NYC Hotel, a property formerly lauded for its prime Times Square location and enviable view of the Theater District. However, the hotel's reputation has been tarnished by increasing incidents of drug-related activities and violence, compounded by the astonishingly high taxpayer cost of $500 per night for each of the 1,300 rooms housing migrants like Manaura. Manaura was recently caught up in the legal system again, accused of stealing a woman's cellphone on the No. 6 train. Rather than facing immediate imprisonment, she was charged with grand larceny and resisting arrest but was granted supervised release by Judge Jay Weiner. This decision essentially permitted her to return to her city-provided accommodation, just in time for her city-sponsored meal. Citing such incidents raises questions about the sense behind granting prolific offenders like Manaura continuous support at the expense of city dwellers. The fact that taxpayers are funding the hotel rooms and complimentary meals for those repeatedly involved in criminal activities can easily be perceived as an enabling factor for such behavior. We're made to look like easy targets, despite paying their bills. This kind of policy appears to be transforming New York City into a haven for international theft rings and migrants who are unfortunately involved in criminal activities. While the average law-abiding citizen foots the bill, these individuals enjoy hotel accommodations and thrice daily meals, along with numerous other benefits. The deterrents for bad behavior seem rather limited. For more than a year now, New York City has been adopting an overly accommodating stance with migrant individuals who have demonstrated histories of criminal activity. Not only are such individuals offered shelter, but they also receive comprehensive meal plans, essentially permitting them to continue living and acting as they have been, often to the detriment of the city and its other inhabitants. Approximately a year ago, several migrant individuals with criminal records were apprehended and found to have stolen over $12,000 worth of merchandise from Macy's Roosevelt Field. Upon their arrest, Patrick Ryder, the Nassau County Police Commissioner, expressed concern about the possibility of organized theft groups directed to commit crimes in the city. Interestingly, two of those arrested were living at the Watson Hotel on West 57th Street, accommodations secured by none other than the city's taxpayers. Fast forward to a recent incident in Times Square, where two NYPD officers faced assaults at the hands of migrants involved in retail crime. On that day, a gang of migrants had decided to target Aldo's, leading to a chase and eventual confrontation with the police who had been charged with halting their actions. Many of those arrested had prior criminal records, with their modus operandi appearing to revolve around organized theft, often involving mopeds or scooters for quick getaways. Earlier this year, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) initiated an aggressive enforcement operation targeting international retail-theft rings. However, resistance from New York's Democratic leaders to cooperate with ICE could spell trouble for local businesses and citizens. Given the state's criminal justice policies, it seems to be a preferred destination for criminal enterprises, according to Representative August Pfluger of Texas. Pfluger detailed to a House hearing a few months back how international crime rings were capitalizing on the perceived leniency of the Biden administration. These groups find attractive the policies in blue states such as New York, where low bail limits and shifting classifications for crimes seem to provide them with fertile ground to operate. A particularly striking detail mentioned by Pfluger was how retail-theft gangs, based out of Florida, were deciding to operate in New York, where they apparently perceived the risk of serious repercussions to be decidedly lower. Despite these worrying facts, it seems the city might be providing an even greater incentive for such individuals to make their way to New York. Just recently, Mayor Adams signed off on contracts adding up to $137 million worth for additional hotel rooms, specifically for housing migrants under city supervision. Not content at providing accommodation, the Mayor also revealed plans to provide migrants with access to debit cards. These cards will allow migrants to credit up to $1,000 a month, intended primarily to facilitate the purchase of food and to cater to their culturally-preferred diets. This places these migrants on comparable economic footing to low-income yet law-abiding New Yorkers. While these initiatives might be driven by genuine intent to help, the potential misuse of these debit cards cannot be ignored. Though the rules demand migrants sign sworn affidavits stating they will only use the funds for food and crucially-needed baby supplies, the true enforceability of these rules is dubious. Unfortunately, the resulting situation is one devoid of much humor. It is a disconcerting thought that New York might be unwittingly encouraging individuals with less than noble intentions to take advantage of the city's policies under the guise of seeking asylum. New Yorkers are known for their broad-mindedness and hearts full of compassion, but that should not intrude upon their common sense. It is high time the city starts making tough but necessary decisions in order to ensure the overall well-being of all its residents. By doing this, the city can aim to strike a balance between providing aid and maintaining security, thereby ensuring that the city remains a place where everyone can feel safe, while also continuing to welcome those who truly seek a better life and contribute positively to society. Not every migrant is a potential troublemaker, and it is important to remember that. However, New York should also consider the kind of example it is setting by treating those engaged in criminal activities so leniently. The city might need to reassess its priorities and make certain the actions taken align with the best interests of each and every one of its residents. Promoting the welfare of all should always take precedence, after all. On the version of Hot off the Wire posted Oct. 5 at 5:35 a.m. CT: OSLO, Norway (AP) — Imprisoned activist Narges Mohammadi has won the Nobel Peace Prize. She has campaigned for women's rights, democracy and against the death penalty in Iran for years. The 51-year-old has done her work despite facing numerous arrests and spending years behind bars for her activism. The chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the prize Friday in Oslo. She said it was a recognition of the work of a whole movement in Iran. Authorities arrested Mohammadi after she attended a memorial for a victim of violent 2019 protests. She is the 19th woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize and the second Iranian woman. WASHINGTON (AP) — Former President Donald Trump is officially backing Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, the pugnacious House Judiciary Committee chairman and longtime Trump defender, to succeed Kevin McCarthy as House speaker. “Congressman Jim Jordan has been a STAR long before making his very successful journey to Washington, D.C., representing Ohio's 4th Congressional District,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social site shortly after midnight Friday. “He will be a GREAT Speaker of the House, & has my Complete & Total Endorsement!” The announcement came hours after Texas Rep. Troy Nehls said Thursday night that Trump had decided to endorse Jordan for the role. WASHINGTON (AP) — Lawyers for Donald Trump have asked a judge to dismiss the Washington federal election subversion case against him. The lawyers argued Thursday the Republican is immune from prosecution for actions they say were taken in his official role as president. The motion amounts to the most pointed attack on the federal case charging Trump with plotting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election he lost to Democrat Joe Biden. The Trump lawyers' motion says prosecutors can't argue that "Trump's efforts to ensure election integrity, and to advocate for the same, were outside the scope of his duties.” Prosecutors are expected to contest the motion. MEXICO CITY (AP) — The Biden administration is going to resume deporting migrants to Venezuela. U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, speaking in Mexico City Thursday, cited the new measure as one of the “strict consequences” the Biden administration is pairing with the expansion of legal pathways for asylum seekers. The process is expected to begin shortly, two U.S. officials tell The Associated Press, though they did not provide specific details on when the flights would begin taking off. The resumption of deportation comes not long after the administration increased protected status for Venezuelans who arrive to the U.S., so if someone arrived to the U.S. before July 31 of this year, but not after, they'd be eligible for protections. NEW YORK (AP) — The father of a toddler who authorities say died of fentanyl poisoning at a New York City day care center said he had hoped to have a photo of his son's kindergarten graduation in four years. Otoniel Feliz cried as he held up a photo of his son Nicholas Dominici, who died after he and three other young children were sickened at their Bronx day care center. District Attorney Darcel Clark says Grei Mendez, Felix Herrera Garcia and Carlisto Brito were arraigned on charges including murder on Thursday. An attorney for Mendez says she is not guilty. Messages seeking comment were left with attorneys for the other two defendants. GRANADA, Spain (AP) — European Union leaders have pledged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy their unwavering support. On Friday, they will face one of their worst political headaches on a key commitment — how and when to welcome debt-laden and war-battered Ukraine into the bloc. The 27-nation EU has said since the start of Russia's invasion in February 2022 that at the end of the war it will work steadfastly on “lasting unity” that will eventually translate into Ukraine's membership in the wealthy bloc. For a nation fighting for its very survival, that moment cannot come quickly enough. For the bloc itself, that remains to be seen. BEIJING (AP) — A typhoon is heading toward southern China and Hong Kong after bringing record-breaking winds and leaving one dead in Taiwan. Typhoon Koinu is weakening Friday as it heads west across the South China Sea toward China's Guangdong province. The China Meteorological Administration forecasts it will turn to the southwest in waters off the coast by Sunday. Ferry service was suspended in parts of Guangdong province, and the city of Guangzhou canceled some flights and trains. One person was killed by flying glass Thursday in the Taiwanese city of Taichung, and more than 300 others were injured around the island. PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A first-of-its-kind assessment says whales, dolphins and seals living in U.S. waters face major threats from the warming ocean temperatures, rising sea levels and decreasing sea ice associated with climate change. Researchers with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration examined more than 100 stocks of American whale and dolphin species and found more than 70% are vulnerable to threats such as loss of habitat and food due to impacts of warming waters. The impacts also include loss of dissolved oxygen and changes to ocean chemistry. Advocates for marine mammals say the study is evidence that management of the animals must adapt to save them. On the version of Hot off the Wire posted Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. CT: NEW YORK (AP) — A man who wounded 10 people in a rush-hour subway shooting in New York City last year has been sentenced to life in prison. Frank James was sentenced on Thursday. He pleaded guilty to terrorism charges earlier this year for the April 2022 mass shooting. His attorneys requested a reduced sentence of 18 years, pointing to the lack of fatalities as evidence James didn't intend to kill anyone. Federal prosecutors say James spent years carefully planning the subway shooting in order to “inflict maximum damage at the height of rush hour.” They said the fact that no one was killed was “miraculous.” Before the shooting, James posted dozens of videos online under the moniker “Prophet of Doom.” BEIRUT (AP) — Syria's health minister says a drone attack that hit a packed military graduation ceremony in the central city of Homs has killed 80 and wounded 240. Health Minister Hassan al-Ghabash says civilians, including children, and military personnel are among those killed Thursday. He says there are concerns the death toll could rise further as many of the wounded were in serious condition. In an earlier statement, Syria's military said drones laden with explosives targeted the ceremony crowded with young officers and their families as it came to an end. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. The war-torn country' is now in its 13th year of conflict. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon says the U.S. military shot down an armed Turkish drone that came within 500 meters of American troops in northeastern Syria. It was a rare use of force by one NATO member against another. Air Force Gen. Patrick Ryder, the Pentagon press secretary, called it a “regrettable incident” and said U.S. troops were forced to go to bunkers for safety as Turkey bombed targets nearby. He says U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke with his Turkish counterpart about the incident Thursday and underscored the importance of close coordination between their two countries to prevent risks to U.S. forces or to the mission to defeat Islamic State militants in the region. LOS ANGELES (AP) — The former University of Southern California gynecologist charged with sexually assaulting numerous students has died. Attorney Leonard Levine said Thursday that George Tyndall was found dead in his home Wednesday. Tyndall was in his mid-70s and was awaiting trial on 35 criminal counts of sexual misconduct between 2009 and 2016 at the university's student health center. He had pleaded not guilty and was free on bond. While the coroner's office will do an autopsy, Levine said there is “no evidence of foul play or suicide.” The university agreed in 2021 to an $852 million settlement with more than 700 women who made accusations against Tyndall. WASHINGTON (AP) — Former President Donald Trump is in talks to make a trip to Capitol Hill next week. A potential visit would come as Republicans work to decide who should be the next speaker of the House following Kevin McCarthy's ouster. Three people familiar with the talks disclosed them to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity Thursday ahead of a formal announcement. Some on the far right have floated the idea of Trump as a speaker candidate, perhaps on an interim basis. Trump has said he is focused “totally” on his campaign to return to the White House, but says, “If I can help them during the process, I would do it." STOCKHOLM (AP) — The Nobel Prize in literature has been awarded to Norwegian author Jon Fosse. The permanent secretary of the Swedish Academy announced the prize Thursday in Stockholm. The academy says the prize is for Fosse's “innovative plays and prose, which give voice to the unsayable.” Fosse is a master of spare Nordic writing in a sprawling body of work ranging from plays to novels and children's books. One of his country's most-performed dramatists, Fosse said he had “cautiously prepared” himself for a decade to receive the call. He is the author of 40 plays as well as novels, short stories, children's books, poetry and essays. BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Police say a man has been accused of stalking a woman in New York via his small airplane, flying out of an airport in nearby Vermont. Sixty-five-year-old Michael Arnold appeared in court Wednesday in Bennington, Vermont. He was arrested Tuesday as he was driving into the William H. Morse State Airport in town. Police say his single-engine Cessna 180 was at the airport and he had been flying from there. Arnold, of Manchester, New Hampshire, had been served with a temporary order of protection from a court in Saratoga, New York, in May. It said he had to “cease and desist from flying any and all aircraft." WASHINGTON (AP) — Former President Donald Trump's lawyers have asked a judge to postpone his Florida classified documents trial until after next year's presidential election. The lawyers say they haven't received all the records they need to prepare Trump's defense. The trial on charges of illegally hoarding classified documents at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort is among four criminal cases the Republican ex-president faces. The trial is scheduled for May 20, 2024. The defense lawyers argued in a motion late Wednesday a postponement is necessary because of scheduling conflicts and because of what they say are delays in obtaining and reviewing the classified records cited in the indictment. Prosecutors deny delaying the production of evidence in the case. WASHINGTON (AP) — AT&T and Gallaudet University have developed a football helmet for quarterbacks who are deaf or hard of hearing. The innovation allows a coach to call a play on a tablet from the sideline that then shows up visually on a small display screen inside the quarterback's helmet. Gallaudet, which competes in Division III, was cleared by the NCAA to use the helmet in its game on Saturday at home against Hilbert. CHICAGO (AP) — Former Northwestern University football coach Pat Fitzgerald is suing the school for $130 million, saying his alma mater wrongfully fired him in the wake of a hazing and abuse scandal that has engulfed the athletic department. The announcement by Chicago-based attorneys Dan K. Webb and Matthew R. Carter on Thursday comes nearly three months after Fitzgerald was suspended and then fired after 17 years. Webb said that Fitzgerald would also be seeking additional money for “infliction of emotional distress,” future lost income and punitive damages. He said the suit in Cook County Circuit Court is against the university and its President Michael Schill. LOS ANGELES (AP) — On Sunday, Habitat for Humanity's 2023 annual Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Week Project kicked off on the President's 99th birthday. Country legends Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood hosted. They tell the Associated Press they've built alongside the Carters at many recent work projects with the exception of this one. Jimmy Carter has been in hospice care since February 2023. They say they're keeping one of the former president's traditions going — giving jobs quickly to anyone who looks like they're standing idle. Brooks adds that the construction site offers unexpected musical inspiration. He jokes that one can "pick up some good old hammer tracks here.” —The Associated Press About this program Host Terry Lipshetz is a senior producer for Lee Enterprises. Beijing "expresses its strong dissatisfaction and protest over the use of armed force by the US side" to attack a civilian unmanned airship from China, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in statement issued on Sunday.A Chinese unmanned airship was spotted in the airspace above the United States earlier this week before Washington claimed it shot down the airship on Saturday. The Foreign Ministry said in its statement that China, after completing verification, "has informed the US side multiple times the airship is for civilian use and it entered the US due to force majeure, constituting a completely unintended situation".China has clearly requested the US handle the situation properly in a calm, professional and restrained manner, the ministry said. The Pentagon's spokesman Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder said on Thursday the airship "does not present a military or physical threat to people on the ground"."Under such a circumstance, the US side's persistence in using armed force is an obvious overreaction and a serious violation of international practice," the statement said.China will resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the enterprise concerned while reserving its right to make further necessary responses, it added.记者:张陨璧来源:外交部官网 中国日报网

Active shooter America under fire The 18-year-old gunman who killed 21 people at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, was not confronted by police before he entered the school, a Texas law enforcement official said Thursday, contradicting earlier comments from authorities and raising further questions about the police response to the massacre. "He walked in unobstructed initially," Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Regional Director Victor Escalon said. "So from the grandmother's house, to the (ditch), to the school, into the school, he was not confronted by anybody." A DPS representative on Wednesday said a school resource officer had "engaged" with the suspect before he went in the school. Escalon's comments came in a news conference that added further confusion to the timeline of Tuesday's horrific shooting that left 19 children and two teachers dead. The massacre marked the deadliest US school shooting in nearly a decade and was at least the 30th school shooting at a K-12 school in 2022. And it has thrown the nation -- where active shooter attacks jumped more than 50% last year -- yet again into a fury of anger and grief amid renewed calls for gun laws reform.

Brian and Pat give us the latest and greatest news, most of it very encouraging with a bit of pessimism sprinkled throughout. If you wanna know just where weed is heading, then this is your one stop dispensary of information. So, get that pre-roll sample ready, fire it up and pass the dutchie 'pon the left hand side as you take another toke on the FIVE DOLLAR BUZZ. The Buzzards go round two on the commodification of marijuana in the United States. Previously we spoke with Patrick Ryder and Brian Jones about the few insurance companies that will cover growers, distributors and sellers on Five Dollar Buzz Episode 10, "Cannabis Cultivation to Corporation" (audio only on Spotify and iTunes). On this episode, we discuss the world of cannabis hedge funds with the leader of the finance industry Sean Stiefel, the CEO of Navy Capital (navycapital.com) and returning guest Brian D. Jones, who is the Executive Vice President of QuadScore Insurance Services. Navy Capital was founded in 2016 with Sean becoming its CEO in 2019. Prior to founding Navy Capital, Seanl was a research analyst and trader for Northwoods Capital Management Partners, a TMT-focused global long/short hedge fund. He had previously served as an associate within an equity long/short fund at Millennium Partners, and he began his career as an equities trading analyst for Barclays Capital. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business. As mentioned before, Brian D. Jones joined QuadScore Insurance Services as the Executive Vice President in 2021. He contributes a wealth of diverse insurance industry experience. His depth of knowledge in handling a broad array of complex operational, regulatory, underwriting, management, and actuarial matters also added value to his previous roles at Hartford Life, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Hartford Investment Management Company, and AXA XL, a division of AXA. Most recently, he was on the front lines of the cannabis insurance market from its infancy in 2017 through its maturation. He developed an underwriting strategy for the cannabis account portfolio and kept his team up to date on changes in the market. Mr. Jones developed a thorough distribution channel of brokers who work with cannabis clients, and he regularly meets with executive-level stakeholders to design solutions and innovative ways to insure their risks. We are at the forefront of turning marijuana into an industry as respectable as any produce you'd find in your average grocery store. It's big business and as more states climb aboard its legalization and these businesses require the fiduciary support that finance strategists and insurance companies provide. So, pack it, light it and take another hit from the bong as FIVE DOLLAR BUZZ keeps relevant with our namesake (probably more like TWENTY DOLLAR GUMMIES in modern times) and goes straight to the lungs of an ever-growing - and reputable - business. The future looks bright but we're only wearing shades so you can't see our red-stained eyes. We keep a healthy supply of Visine in our war chest (wonder how that business has flourished in recent years). And please remember to subscribe to our YouTube channel and/or our audio-only versions on iTunes and Spotify. If you have any questions, comments, potential topics or guests please email us at FIVEDOLLARBUZZ@gmail.com. We'll answer you back shortly after we finish eating that entire dozen of Krispy Kremes we had delivered because we can't really get off the couch

This week, George, Pete and Roger share a joint together with two dudes that make the business of getting stoned, dare we say, respectable. We're talking about the cannabis industry in America and all of its, ahem, "highs" and lows. First we have Patrick Ryder. He is the North American Cannabis Practice Leader for HUB International; a top five global risk management brokerage firm. From Denver, CO he has been working with multinational cannabis companies on risk mitigation techniques since the release of the Cole Memorandum paved the way for states to decriminalize adult-use marijuana. Then we have Brian D. Jones who joined Quadscore Insurance Services as the Executive Vice President in 2021. Essentially, Patrick and Brian's resumes are fancy ways of saying that they help (or helped) smoke shops and growers get insured ever since Obama said states can do what they want with weed. We chew on the very beginnings of legal marijuana and its cultural epicenter in Denver, CO, the steady spread of states to follow, the Federal government's role (or lack, thereof...ready to grab half of your stash but won't allow you to take normal deductions like any other "too legit to quit" business can do), the good guys in business (Bay Area rapper Berner who owns the Cookies pot shops), the bad guys (lots of legislative red tape, lack of regulation) and the ugly (those poor bastards that know how to get us really, really stoned but, well, they can't exactly do math). So, load up your cartridge, swallow a few gummies, shake that flower from your grinder, roll your joint, stuff your blunt, pack your pipe and waft through a fast-paced, highly informative, extremely passionate wall of sweet smoke as the Buzzards take another hit from the bong. And remember, folks, if you have any questions or comments about this show or others or have any suggestions for topics and guests, feel free to email us at fivedollarbuzz@gmail.com. It may take a second to get to ya as we sleep one off but, rest assured, we'll be there, our friends.

Patrick worked in the corporate world for 22 years, a large part in the commercial side of mobile technology. He and his wife rose up the corporate ladder, moved their family and kids to Asia after promotion as regional directors. Yet Patrick was not happy with corporate lifestyle, and his frequent burn out by being available 24/7 to the globally connected corporate world caused weight loss and health issues, as well as a strain on family relationships with so little quality time for them.In this interview, we discuss the structure for why and how he got out, the plan he set for his year off, his personal profit and loss plan for managing his finances during his career transition, deadlines for success, volunteering and the importance of feedback from others, and how he found balance back into his life.If you enjoyed this podcast, please support us: Rate and review the Burn From Within podcast the easy way (in 2 minutes) here

Leila is a fun, intelligent and talented British actress who came to my attention in Little Glass Film's "Human" - a short film by Patrick Ryder, where she plays Anna. Leila has been involved in entertainment industry in one way or another since she was five. She is full of life and passion, which I am sure you will realise yourselves when you listen/watch. I look forward to supporting this fantastic actress as her career flourishes and seeing her in more roles will be a joy. Even if they are stoned pixies.....want to know what that means?? Rob Dukes is a Midlands born actor, residing in London. From his early days, he showed talent in the arts and has a love of both music and acting, being an accomplished trumpet player...something he shares with this presenter (albeit remove the accomplished for me as it was 15 years ago since I last really played!) Rob is currently in the multi award winning WW2 short film by Patrick Ryder called The Code. I've had the pleasure of watching this film twice now, and also presenting and hosting the Q&A at the London screening in September. Rob's career is going from strength to strength and it is easy to see why. He has a presence which oozes charisma and having seen his work on screen, I can confirm the acting talent. It's an honour to know Rob, who is always willing to help and promote others as well as himself. Take note of his name as it is one you will be seeing a lot of! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Brisbane Lions ruckman Stefan Martin is the toast of AFL Fantasy coaches this week. The big man is behind Max Gawn, Nic Naitanui and Brodie Grundy on the ownership table however, the 16 per cent of coaches who backed him in are stoked with his output against a ruck-less Port Adelaide. Martin finished with 49 hitouts (Justin Westhoff won 15 as the Power's ruck) and added 30 disposals, seven marks and seven tackles to his stat line to post a career-high 177 Fantasy points on Saturday afternoon at Adelaide Oval. It appears that rucks coming up against Port Adelaide are in for a field day. So far Aaron Sandilands (111), Callum Sinclair (93) and Martin (177) have enjoyed playing the Power while Patrick Ryder is on the sidelines. The Saints and Cats are also clubs that you can expect your ruck to score well against based on the data from the opening three weeks. Solo rucks is where it's at in Fantasy. You want your ruckman to go about it alone. At the start of the season there was some trepidation around picking Grundy with Mason Cox in the side. Cox has played two of the three games (he was suspended in round two) and Grundy is the top scoring ruck thus far. Cox has been playing as a deep forward with limited time on the ball. Melbourne and Brisbane Lions have conceded the least amount of points to rucks. Gawn and Martin have been dominant - although they nullified each other in round two - winning the majority of hitouts and collecting ball around the ground. Also in this week's podcast: - All of the action from round three - News from around the grounds, including Magoos News - Trade tips for round four - Your questions answered
