Whether we like what's happening in the industry or not, we have to learn how to embrace change. Turbulent and uncertain times aren't as difficult if we can adapt quickly. It allows us to get into movement and momentum a lot quicker and that sets us up for success. When it comes to embracing change, there's one formula that can guide us. Intention + mechanism = results. If we're not happy with the results we currently have, we can reverse engineer the process to figure out what intention led to it or what mechanism (or lack thereof) led to the outcome. We can talk about doing great things all day long, but time and results have a way of proving who had the right intentions and who was doing all the right things. In order to get this formula to work in our favor, we have to get really comfortable with critiquing ourselves - not out of blame but out of responsibility. If we're living in a place of constructive self-critique, reflection and asking ourselves the right questions, turbulent times can create massive opportunity. How do we give ourselves feedback without beating ourselves up? How do you show up 100% when you set an intention? Speaker, coach and author, Ronnie Doss returns to talk about his new book Colossal Considerations and the formula for success. Use your past as a university, not a home. Treat it like a tent - don't build a temple there. -Ronnie Doss How to create momentum You can't get momentum without movement, and you can't get movement without a positive intentional mindset. Time reveals the truth about your intentions Time always has a way of separating who was truly committed from who was just talking and posing. Don't commit for compliance's sake A lot of people use compliance as a way to blame someone else when they don't end up getting the result they want. The power of self-critique If we're trying to move forward, professionally or personally, we have to search our own hearts, check if we're giving our best, and self-reflect to figure out what we need to do. How to inspire in uncertain times In times of great turbulence, tension or uncertainty, we have an opportunity to make a contribution that inspires people, lifts them up and makes their lives better. Guest Info Ronnie is a speaker, coach, author of Colossal Considerations: 101 Thought-Provoking Insights To Move Your Life Forward, and America's #1 Teamwork and Performance Specialist. Ronnie trained for 5 years in the realm of human behavior and personal development. As a personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach in the industry for the past 12 years, I've had the pleasure of working with everyday people, right through to elite level athletes at the highest level.Couple that with a 6-year career as a professional soldier, plus a lifelong pursuit of becoming the best athlete I can be, I bring a unique skillset to the world of coaching. It's the one percenters that separates the best from the rest. Mindset and Performance is the aim of the game. Jordan Aigner of Aigner Performance has been following my journey for a number of years, and jumped at the opportunity to join my Mentorship Program. He has been with me for the last month, in fight camp with Denis "The Bosnian Menace" Puric as we prepare to take on a superstar in the combat sports world...RODTANG!Denis has been calling for "The Iron Man" for years, and ONE Championship has obliged after a few good performances which elevated Denis to the upper echelon of the Bantamweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing rankings.Jordan has been an integral part of this fight camp preparation, as he joined me for the final deload/reload week of phase 1, before we launched into phase 2 of camp, rounding out with Peak Week this week.In this conversation, we discuss his experience as an insider through Denis's camp, which culminates in the Co-Main Event of ONE 167, which takes place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok tomorrow (8 June). This conversation was recorded Thursday 6th June, a few hours before Denis made weight and passed his hydration test ahead of the biggest fight of his life.Unfortunately, Rodtang did not make weight or pass his hydration test, so the bout will take place at a catchweight.Nonetheless, we are coming in hot, and will be looking to make a statement!#coachedbykobes #livetrainperform #livelifetofullest #traintoyourpotential #performatyourbest #bosnianmenace #watchitfreaksShaun Kober is a Mindset & Performance Specialist, with a unique skillset forged in the trenches, through the various stages of life."I shouldn't be in the position I am right now." Denis "The Bosnian Menace" Puric is a decades-long martial artist, and a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo. He has fought around the world in renowned events and promotions such as One Championship (where he currently fights), K1, Bellator, Kunlun Fight, Top King World Series, and MAS Fight to name a few.Over the last decade, Denis has been traveling the world competing at the highest level of kickboxing, Muay Thai and MMA. Five of those years were dedicated to training under the legendary Buakaw Banchamek, where he was the only foreigner fighting under the Banchamek banner at the time. Following this training period, "The Bosnian Menace" moved to China for four years, working as a coach for Kunlun Fight League, where his role was to prepare the Chinese professional fight team for their competitions.During this period, Denis was recognised as one of their best coaches. Denis and I crossed paths a few years ago, during my 5-year stint as the Head S & C Coach at Tiger Muay Thai, where he has been a sponsored athlete for many years.Whilst I haven't been on Tiger's books for a year, he contacted me April 9, we caught up for a coffee, and he told me he had the opportunity of a lifetime...his dream fight.RODTANG!This dude has been calling Rodtang's name for years.ONE Championship have obliged this callout, after back-to-back quality performances, which pushed him up into the top echelon of fighters on the Flyweight roster in both Muay Thai and Kickboxing."I can fight man. As an S & C Coach for Professional Athletes, it is imperative that I use my time wisely.Typically, I only have my athletes two to three times per week.Sometimes, it is a short 3 to 4 week period to start or finish camp.Other times, I get the opportunity to spend 8 to 10 weeks building a general base of strength and aerobic capacity, before transitioning to more specific speed/power and endurance/conditioning work.Regardless of the time period, everything I program needs to have a specific intent.I'm doing the biggest bang-for-buck drills I can, to suit the intent of the session/week/block/phase/program/camp etc.The RAMP protocol is my go-to, systematic way of preparing myself and my clients for the training sessions they are about to undertake.I see so many people just doing random work for their warm-up, which is better than nothing, but not optimal to prepare the mind and the body to get the most out of a structured training session. This formula can be applied to any training program, and should be tailored specifically to the modality of training, movement requirements, exercise selection, and individual needs required for that day's training session.Raise- Heart rate- Respiratory rate- Core temperature- Blood flow to working muscles- Viscous fluid to specific jointsActivate- Fire up the stabilisers- Connect to prime movers- Integrate synergists into compound movementsMobilise- Release tension in tight muscles- Increase range of movement- Align the joint to optimise movement patternsPotentiate- Practice/warm-up/ramp up sets- Refine technique and skill - Ramp up central nervous system to match the upcoming sessionThe RAMP Package is a 60-Day Introduction to the Mobility, Stability and Prime Modules, delivered via the Coached By Kobes App. 18 routines to give you what you need for as little as 10 minutes a day!- 5 Mobility routines progressing from beginner to advanced- 6 Stability routines progressing from beginner to advanced- 7 Prime routines progressing from beginner to advancedThis is Phase 2 of 3 in the Live Train Perform Modular Training System.Phase 1 - Build The Base Program (30 days)Phase 2 - RAMP Package (60 days)Phase 3 - LTP Foundations Program (90 days)Elements and principles learned in Phase 1 and 2 feature in Phase 3, the LTP Foundations Program, which is the flagship product! The Best Warm Up System You Will Ever Use!⇓⇓⇓⇓⇓Shaun Kober is a Mindset & Performance Specialist, with a unique skillset forged in the trenches, through the various stages of life."I shouldn't be in the position I am right now." You don't have to stress yourself or suffer, but move every single day. It may not always feel good when you get started, but you're always going to feel better afterwards. ● [51:49] It's okay to be going through what you're going through, you're not alone. People are there to help and to lift you up if you just look. Every step forward for your health and well being is a step in the right direction. QUOTES: “Looking at this time of year and going, what am I celebrating? What can I celebrate? And how am I contributing to my longevity and my healthspan on a daily basis.” - Tanya Becker“People that live long, have a strong community...if you're struggling to do movement or anything, connect with someone." - Tanya Becker“I think, being a trainer, you're giving and you're inspiring and working so much for your clients, so when you say, “I have to take care of myself and do this for myself as well”, you're exhausted. There's every excuse in the book to not do something, except for thinking, do I want to move with ease still? Do I want to have my daily activities I don't have to think about, because I can lift something overhead or I can pick something up or I can go up those stairs. I keep saying that mantra to myself over and over: what you work for, you will achieve.” - Chad Levy“Choose each day to show up and be grateful and find those things. Just like building the physical muscles is longevity, community, and connection. The mental emotional stuff is also a muscle and also a practice.” - Jenn Trepeck“If you don't work a muscle out enough, to the point of it getting weaker, it's not going to have that same tone. And that's exactly the same for our emotional and mental well being. I believe it's a daily practice. You have to connect an emotion to it and a feeling to it and really get yourself in that state of gratitude and that you can do through meditation instead of just saying the words or writing a gratitude list. How do you emotionally get there? Volunteer, get out of self, do service work, call somebody.” - Tanya Becker“Muscle is your savings account.” - Jenn Trepeck“We talked about connecting through fitness and exercise, but also having that really strong support group for when you're going through it. You have people that you know you can help support you. - Tanya Becker“Relish in the moments of 2023 that were everything you wanted them to be and more and take that with you. Leave everything else that doesn't serve you.” - Jenn TrepeckRESOURCES:The Method Behind the Madness with Tanya BeckerFunctional Fitness To See Your Inner Warrior with Chad LevyQ&A Fitness Edition with Tanya Becker & Chad LevyLongevity Equation EpisodeMeditation For StressResolution Revolution Program - Text 2024 to 844-947-4846Become A Member of Salad with a Side of FriesJenn's Free Menu PlanA Salad With a Side of FriesA Salad With A Side Of Fries MerchA Salad With a Side of Fries InstagramGUEST RESOURCESTanya Becker's Resources:Tanya Becker Coaching WebsiteTanya Becker's InstagramTanya Becker's FacebookTanya Becker's YouTube ChannelChad Levy's Resources:Chad Levy's WebsiteChad Levy's InstagramChad Levy's FacebookGUEST BIO:Tanya Becker has been changing bodies for more than 30 years in the fitness world, as a dancer then fitness instructor and she co-founder of Physique 57. In this episode I had the opportunity to sit down with Mitchell Tanner, an expert in physical therapy and a coach. Mitchell is a Doctor of Physical Therapy & a Strength Coach. He has worked with everyone from professional athletes to everyday people. His remote coaching is very person centered, focusing on the whole person and not just their goals or the pain they're experiencing. Our in-depth discussion revolved around the crucial role of understanding pain and injury in athletic performance. Mitchell shed light on the common fears and misconceptions surrounding pain, highlighting the vital importance of empathy and compassion in the rehabilitation journey. We explored the importance of focusing on each step of the recovery process rather than fixating on the final goal. This balance between enduring discomfort and recognizing when to rest is essential for athletes. Additionally, we delved into the significance of proper technique in enhancing performance and addressed the limitations of relying exclusively on biomechanics to explain pain.Mitchell also shared his expertise in remote rehab coaching, emphasizing load management and personalized training plans. This episode is packed with valuable insights for athletes, coaches, health professionals, and anyone interested in the dynamics of pain management and recovery in sports. It's a must-listen for those seeking to deepen their understanding of athletic performance and the psychology of healing.Get In Touch With Mitch: https://www.instagram.com/coach.mitch.dpt/Contact Me: justin@assembleperformance.comIG: https://www.instagram.com/justinsjones/Website: https://assembleperformance.com/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@justinjonesfitness

Brandon Orr describes how the Special Operations Forces space was missing the ability to measure speeded cognition, why the measures that are currently used do not capture the split-second demands a soldier faces when kicking open a door and executing in the unknown, how fragile high performance is, and how knowing each Operator's wiring helps him relate to them and identify their advantages and disadvantages in performance.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Mark Ashby, Mark is a highly-regarded specialist who uses past his experience as an Elite Paratrooper in the Australian army to assist multinational companies and their leaders in crisis awareness, cultural change & high performance leadership. He has displayed an extraordinary ability to perform optimally under stressful scenarios through extensive experiences as a member of the Elite Paratroopers and other Specialist roles in the Australian Army, with Operational tours of East Timor. Mark was deployed to Iraq as a team leader in the highly-dangerous private security sector for eleven years before returning to Australia to work as a senior risk consultant in the corporate world for six years. Mark relied on rigorous training and discipline to carry out forty-one operational rotations, consisting of one thousand six hundred missions successfully completed during his time as a Close Protection Team Leader. Mark's duties often took him to high-threat, hostile situations where he faced immense pressure to perform tasks in both covert and overt capacities with great emotional control, discipline and accuracy. Having been attached to the U.S. military, the U.S. State Department and embedded with the Green Berets, Mark's adaptability to extreme situations of crisis and armed conflict allowed him to oversee operations of the highest global, financial and geopolitical importance such as the first two independent elections in Iraq. Mark also spent four years ensuring the safety and security of Australian Diplomats and Politicians as a close protection team leader at the Australian Embassy in Baghdad. Since returning to the corporate sector & setting up my own consulting firm in Australia, I've been using my experience to assist senior members of multinational companies in leadership, crisis awareness and cultural change so they can become more resilient and adaptable. I recently completed my Master's Degree with Distinction from Macquarie University in Sydney. A Crisis Culture and Performance Specialist is in the corporate sphere that works with an individual concerning their business to change their mindset whether it is regarding personal, staffing, or cultural business issues. Mark explains that he takes the emotions out of decisions and advises his clients to do so to make the most rational decision. If a toxic environment is allowed to fester within a business, it will run out of control very quickly. Mark explains that bigger businesses with toxic leadership can almost absorb the blows from high turnover rates because they are such big companies. At times the higher executives are not connected to the lower end of the business, which is why this toxicity may not be addressed. Mark explains with one on one mentoring he will go in and listen first to get the full story of what is going on to then be able to fix the issues the individual is having. Mark also spent four years ensuring the safety and security of Australian Diplomats and Politicians as a close protection team leader at the Australian Embassy in Baghdad. Since returning to the corporate sector & setting up my own consulting firm in Australia, I've been using my experience to assist senior members of multinational companies in leadership, crisis awareness, and cultural change so they can become more resilient and adaptable. In this episode, I have human performance specialist, former colleague, and good friend Brian Mackenzie. We revisit his days at Crossfit, first as CrossFit Endurance and then his books PowerSpeedEndurance, Unbreakable Runner and Unplugged. Brian and Co. then focused on shifting the paradigm in training and preparation for endurance events and then expanding the skill first message throughout the world of human performance. SHIFT works with professional athletes, Fortune 500 executives, tactical personnel, and everyday people like us became an amazing lab for understanding how stress and our relationship with it shape human behavior. SHIFT's search for the most universal performance enhancement tool available led us down the rabbit hole of breathwork and ultimately resulted in the creation of the Art of Breath seminar series. The Art of Breath was designed to break down traditional silos in breathwork practices and make this amazing tool available to anybody regardless of the entry point. Breath control is an incredibly powerful tool for improving resilience and enhancing performance for every living human on the planet. Our journey traveling and developing this seminar highlighted a simple fact-people, even the highest performers on Earth manage stress poorly. I hope you guys enjoy this episode! Support the show
