Are you ready to release stress and lower your heart rate? This meditation will help your body enter a state of relaxation and connection. By chanting So Hum, (which means I AM that ... that referring to all of creation, the One breathing us all), it helps us to deepen into Oneness and preparation for the silence of your soul. Humming stimulates your vagus nerve and releases your fight-or-flight response. When the vagus nerve is stimulated it activates your parasympathetic nervous system. That helps you to calm down, lower your blood pressure and makes your tummy happy. Ta medytacja z mantrą So Hum na koncentrację pomoże Ci wyciszyć umysł, skupić uwagę i odnaleźć wewnętrzny spokój.

Udana Vayu is the upward-moving, ascending and radiant life-force from the top of the heart and base of the throat. As it is active primarily in the region between the heart and the head, it is said to bring Prana from the energy centre, Anahata Chakra through Vishuddha Chakra to Ajna Chakra, which directs the flow of Prana from the lower to the higher planes of consciousness manifesting a hearts desire as it creatively expresses itself and influences awakening. This Vayu is also responsible for taking the mind from waking to sleep, from sleep to dreaming and then to deep dreamless sleep -Turya – to higher planes of existence. When we focus a mindful concentration in practice on Udana Vayu the results leave us feeling connected, balanced and strong, we stand tall with integrity. Our presence when Udana Vayu is flowing we are joyous, enthusiastic, alert, articulate, and we have epiphanies, insights, revelations and visions. This meditation will use the tool Jaladhara Bandha to help trace the movements Udana Vayu and Mudras to seal in the Prana around the space between the heart and the head. Verbal chanting of OM and mental chanting of SO HUM and HUM SA will be used to connect to the vibration and pulse of Prana in this area. Kriya practices will also be used to actively clear the physical and subtle pathways for Prana to heal, transform and inspire the student to benefit from focusing on Pran, Apana, Vyana and Samana Vayus and how Udana Vayu relates to this Pranic movement. Leaving the student feeling lasting fulfilment of their intention of practice, containment in their embodiment and liberation from any previous pain or suffering. To read more and to practice with Zephyr Wildman, click here. Mantras are from ancient teaching and are used with the intention of helping us shine a light on parts of ourselves we want to illuminate and dive deeper into. When we repeat a mantra it helps calm our minds and unites our body and mind. This podcast was created to make it really easy for you to listen to a new mantra each week and repeat it all week long. To embody the teachings and become the prayer. It's mid-January and most people have thrown their hands in the air and abandoned their resolutions. Mostly because they try to do too much. Our resolution is to maintain consistency through simplicity with all things mantra. Anywhere, anytime! We encourage you to make the space daily to check out to check-in. So Hum is the mantra for this week, it's a Bija Mantra and we love it. Your homework this week is to go out into nature and create some vibration in the world as you sing So Hum.

Soham or Sohum is a Hindu mantra, meaning "I am She/He/That" in Sanskrit. In Vedic philosophy, it means identifying oneself with the universe or ultimate reality. So Hum mantra symbolizes the fact that we are all connected to the universal energy that is constantly supporting and nourishing us in. As Soham meditation helps us to focus, we can get a clearer image of our surroundings, and with our increasing levels of concentration, it helps us to remember more, and with greater clarity. It helps one to discover his/her/their inner self, and in doing so, one can go about his daily chores and practices with vividness.

Wellness means living it every day and encompassing it in areas of your life.   Candace shares with us the reality of slipping when it comes to health goals and encourages us to always come back to what we know is best for our bodies. For her here non-negotiable wellness practice is her plant-based diet and meditation. In this episode we dig into the why, the how and the steps to get started with meditation.   Candace believes meditation is a non-negotiable when it comes to getting in touch with our/your needs, sleeping better, and making proactive decisions. Wellness has some fundamental pillars; breath, rest, nutrition and mindset. Mediation is a champion of these pillars. We discuss the tricks of getting started with mediation, the bottom line just to start doing it. There is no right or wrong way to meditate. Candace provides us with some suggestions for getting started; ·        Find a quiet space ·        Set up the environment, turn off outside distractions ·        Determine the right time for you to mediate o   This may be mid-day when you are needing to rejuvenate. It is a great replacement for caffeine or chocolate. ·        Set a timer so you can stay focused on breathing not the time ·        Slow down your breath ·        Relax your scalp and tension in your body, jaw, neck etc. ·        You can use the universal mantra of So-Hum and repeat it in your mind ·        When your mind wanders you can come back to the So-Hum mantra   “When you are frazzled and feel overwhelmed that is the precise time to meditate.” ~ Candace McKim   We are reminded that consistency is the key when it comes to mediation, so you can create a container for receiving ideas and messages. Mediation will help keep you in a proactive state versus a reactive state.   Wellness Nuggets; ·        Consider what energy masculine or feminine that suits your wellness journey ·        Body, mind and spirit were systematically separated it's time to reconnect to the whole ·        Turn within for answers ·        Mindset is a big part of creating change   “I believe our intuition is our soul speaking to ask, what does she want right now?” ~ Candace McKim We invite you to ignite the Wellness Warrior in YOU! Welcome to Episode #4 of the Wild Yoga Tribe Podcast! This week, I welcome Ruta Keriane onto the show. She is a yoga teacher and yoga studio owner from Lithuania. I met Ruta Keriane in Rishikesh in the summer of 2019 at Punyah Yoga. I was taking an Ashtanga Alignment and Adjustment course at Punyah Yoga while Ruta was taking her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training course there as well. When I met Ruta I was amazed. I mean, really and truly amazed. She's this driven, dynamic 42 year old woman who has two children in their early twenties and she's never tried yoga before and she is here in India wanting to become a yoga teacher? What!? What's even more impressive? Within just a couple months of getting back to Lithuania, she opened up her own studio there. That's right. This brand new yoga student turned yoga teacher became a studio owner all in the matter of a few months. Once Ruta knew her path, she wasted no time getting started. Mantra is a meditation technique that helps you to take your mind to quieter, calmer levels of thinking. Mantras are often referred to as vehicles for the mind because with focus on the repetition of a mantra, other thoughts swimming in the mind dissipate and the mind shifts toward mental clarity and stillness. The So Hum mantra has a special meaning in Vedic philosophy and is often the mantra given to those new to the practices of yoga and meditation. So Hum is a phrase comprised of two Sanskrit words. The literal translations are:So: “That” Hum: “I” Therefore, the translation of So Hum is “I Am That.” According to many Vedic scholars, “That” refers to the Universe, and therefore, the So Hum mantra symbolizes that we are all connected to the universal energy which continually nourishes and supports us. It is of the same concept of “oneness”, of being one with the Universe, and all that is in it.So when we chant the So Hum mantra in our mind while meditating, we are saying, “I am ONE with the universe.”Mary shares with you the benefits of practicing this mantra with the Dhyana Mudra.

When we choose to create silence within, we try to make the external environment and our physical self conducive to take steps towards meditation and allow meditation to happen. One way to allow Meditation to happen is by “Ajapa Japa “ that is to continuously think of a vibrational sound of breath “So-Hum”, Amen, universal sound OHM, any mantra, a divine name which your soul is connected to with utter faith, or to a Phrase or any word like joy, peace, strength which resonates to you. This helps our mind to think about what you provided it to think on, rather than allowing it to wander into the past or future, fear or fantasy. This way we allow our mind to stay in present, creating inner silence and peace within our mind and in our internal dialogue. We start cultivating to live every moment meditatively. We create that inner silence and get in touch with our inner divinity. we start seeing the positive transformation in our lives. Our life starts flowing effortlessly, our desires and intentions starts becoming reality easily and we start seeing enhancement in our physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, Visit our website iavani.com for more mediation audio and classes. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/iavani/message

While mantra practice is a departure from how I normally teach meditation, it is quite often a part of my personal meditation practice. One of the most significant moments of my life was sitting on the banks of the Ganges river and chanting the Gayatri mantra as the sun rose.  Chants and mantras can be found across continents, cultures, time and religions. With the double bonus of giving your mind a tool to assist in concentration AND offering subtle intentions to the deepest part of your consciousness, it is a powerful practice and one that is very accessible to beginners. Join me in today's episode of The Mindful Minute as we explore mantra meditation through a secular lens. We will be practicing with one of the first mantras taught in meditation: So Hum. In this meditation, We bring awareness to “So Hum” mantra. The Vedic mantra "So Hum" is a reflection of the vibrational sound of the breath as cognized by the ancient sages and seekers: “So” of the inhale and “Hum” of the exhale. It also carries a contemplative meaning: "I am that" (so = "I am" and hum = "that"). In the Vedic philosophy it means identifying oneself with the universe or ultimate reality. That in whom reside all beings and who resides in all beings, who is the giver of grace to all, the Supreme Soul of the universe, the limitless being -- I am that. Amritbindu Upanishad “That which permeates all, which nothing transcends and which, like the universal space around us, fills everything completely from within and without, that Supreme non-dual Brahman -- that thou art.” Sankaracharya The So Hum meditation is a simple but powerful tool that uses the breath and the repetition of a mantra to quiet the mind and relax the body. This meditation has used the background ‘So Hum” Marta sung beautifully by A Choir group played on Youtube by the meditative mind. This meditation will help us move beyond our mind's busy chatter to the peace of present moment awareness. This meditation is also about connecting to mother earth and feeling grounded, connected, and supported. To touch base to our inner silence, the source of infinite creativity, infinite potentiality, infinite connectedness, peace, love, and blissfulness to manifest the same in our lives.
