In this episode of All My Relations, Matika Wilbur (Swinomish and Tulalip) and Temryss Lane (Lummi Nation)—sit down with Indigenous rights attorney Gabe Galanda (Round Valley Indian Tribes) to discuss the mounting legal threats to Tribal Nationhood, citizenship, and sovereignty. As executive orders and court cases attempt to undermine Native status and question our birthright citizenship, we unpack what's happening and what's at stake.Together, we explore the legal history behind Native Citizenship, from Elk v. Wilkins to the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924, and how the Supreme Court continues to challenge the political status of Tribal Nations. Gabe highlights the ongoing erasure of Indigenous identity under U.S. law, warning that Native people remain "sub-citizens," not universally protected by the U.S. Constitution, and that our status exists at the mercy of an act of Congress. He raises the unsettling reality that if a simple majority of Congress were to revoke the 1924 Citizenship Act, we could once again be placed in legal limbo. We also turn inward, examining how Tribal policies around blood quantum and disenrollment are eroding our sovereignty from within. Gabe points out that over 70% of Tribal Nations still use blood quantum—a colonial, racialized construct—to determine belonging. We ask ourselves how we can continue to argue for our political status while using a racial measurement to determine our own citizenship? If we don't address these internal challenges, are we eradicating ourselves before the government even has the chance? This episode is an urgent call to rethink Indigenous citizenship and belonging before external forces dictate our future.Join us in this critical conversation. Jennifer spills the beans on what it takes to be an actress in Hollywood. Historical Fiction is not new, it is something that has drawn my attention for a long time BUT I didn't realize that there is a fun learning history. While Philippa writes fiction, she prides herself on researching for her works for those who read them. I am looking forward to exploring the rest of her catalog of work. Today's interview was more of an introduction to a new world of works we already love. How can you love something before you know it? In DAWNLANDS (November 8, 2022; Atria Books; $28.99), Philippa continues to uncover unknown women of history, this time bringing us the little-known story of Queen Mary of Modena, King James II's second wife and, of course, their enemies. With renewed fascination with the British royal family, Philippa provides a unique insight into our history with impeccable research and unforgettable storytelling. It is 1685, England is on the brink of a renewed civil war against the Stuart kings and many families are bitterly divided. Ned Ferryman cannot persuade his sister, Alinor, that he is right to return from America with his Pokanoket servant, Rowan, to join the rebel army. Instead, Alinor has been coaxed by the manipulative Livia to save the queen from the coming siege. The rewards are life-changing: the family could return to their beloved Tidelands, and Alinor could rule where she was once lower than a servant. Alinor's son, Rob, is determined to stay clear of the war, but when he and his nephew set out to free Ned from execution for treason and Rowan from a convict deportation to Barbados, they find themselves enmeshed in the creation of an imposter Prince of Wales—a surrogate baby to the queen. From the last battle in the desolate Somerset Levels to the hidden caves on the slave island of Barbados, this third volume of an epic story follows a family from one end of the empire to another, to find a new dawn in a world which is opening up before them with greater rewards and dangers than ever before. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/tntbsmedia/message

What he had was information on a notorious armed robbery crew, known as the gym gang, and he was prepared to talk, if the deal was right. He was The Driver, a trusted insider who turned informer on a gang that police still consider one of Melbourne's slickest. His information would form the basis of a police operation, codenamed Tidelands, which became a cat-and-mouse game straight out of a spy novel. "Ostatnio robię tak, że wchodzę na serwis streamingowy i z listy wybranych wcześniej seriali na chybił-trafił klikam ten, który mam obejrzeć. Niestety, na Amazonie trafiłem bardzo źle." - mówi Bartosz Węglarczyk. "I Know What You Did Last Summer", bo o tym serialu mowa, to remake serii filmów pt. "Koszmar minionego lata." Tidelands Health launches Post-COVID-19 Recovery Program to provide coordinated, ongoing care for ‘long-haulers'Tidelands Health has launched a comprehensive, coordinated care and treatment program for those who have survived COVID-19 but continue to have a range of medical issues for weeks and even months after their initial infection. The Tidelands Health Post-COVID19 Recovery Program is open to anyone whose symptoms – joint pain, fatigue, chronic cough, anxiety and more – linger long after their infection and interfere with their ability to return to work or resume their favorite activities. Referred to as COVID-19 long-haulers, these individuals can benefit from coordinated care by a variety of specialists, which the new recovery program provides. “After seeing a number of patients experience lingering symptoms long after their initial COVID-19 infection, our team developed the Tidelands Health Post-COVID-19 Recovery Program to better meet patients' needs,” said Dr. William Epperson, medical director of primary care at Tidelands Health. “Those who have survived COVID-19 shouldn't just try to live with these lingering symptoms, which can often interrupt their daily life. This program is designed to provide customized care and support based on the specific set of symptoms a patient is experiencing. Just as Tidelands Health led the way in COVID-19 testing and vaccination, we aim to lead the way in long-term recovery.” Patients in the Tidelands Health Post-COVID-19 Recovery Program benefit from a multidisciplinary care team that offers an integrated, personalized approach to treatment. Anyone whose symptoms have persisted for at least three weeks since their initial COVID-19 diagnosis is eligible for the program. Many COVID-19 survivors experience a range of lingering symptoms, including fatigue, shortness of breath, memory loss, chronic cough, anxiety, depression and more. COVID-19 also can damage the heart and impact heart function, create ongoing respiratory difficulties and negatively affect balance, strength and endurance. Through this new recovery program, specialists will be available to provide comprehensive care. A patient's first stop in the program will be with a primary care physician, who will complete a thorough physical exam and review a patient's COVID-19 history to help determine the best approach to resolving the lingering symptoms. In addition, a care navigator will coordinate a patient's care and serve as a resource for education and support. Patients then will have access to a variety of specialists to address their specific needs. Cardiologists, pulmonologists, neurologists and nutritionists might all play a role in a patient's customized care plan. And because COVID-19 can take a toll on balance, strength and endurance, patients will have access to a new rehabilitation program, Stronger After COVID-19, offering specialized physical, occupational and speech therapy through Tidelands Health Rehabilitation Services, the region's largest network of outpatient rehabilitation services.“COVID-19 long-haulers experience a range of lingering symptoms, but every case is different,” Dr. Epperson said. “That's why it's so important, through this new program, to connect every patient to the specialists he or she needs to provide care and treatment for each individual. “While some symptoms are similar, there's no one-size-fits-all care plan for COVID-19 long haulers. Providing a customized, targeted approach based on each patient's unique needs will help achieve better results and help each patient on the road to recovery and to resume the activities they love.” The Tidelands Health Post-COVID-19 Recovery Program is available to anyone – not just patients who were treated for COVID-19 at Tidelands Health - whose symptoms have persisted for at least three weeks since their initial COVID-19 diagnosis. Individuals who would like to schedule an appointment should call 1-866-TIDELANDS

This July, I happened to meet Philippa Gregory at a party.Let's be clear - I never dreamed I would write a sentence like that, especially after moving away from Los Angeles. Even more surprising, I managed to have a coherent conversation with her about books and writing, to the point where she generously invited me over to record an episode talking about her latest book, Tidelands, and writing in general. Thankfully, I was able to borrow a friend's microphone and made my way across the city to record this conversation. I hope you will forgive the slightly informal audio, I think what we talked about is worth turning up the volume a little bit for. I have loved Philippa's books for years and years. I remember how thrilled I was to find The Other Boleyn Girl and The Queen's Fool when my fascination with the Tudors on an explosive trajectory. But even beyond all of her books that I have read and loved, this conversation was about why she has chosen, as a historian, to write novels about women in history. She brings such depth to this subject and inspired me more than I can say with her thoughtful commentary on her career and writing in general, as well as on women's roles throughout history and literature. As it's my birthday tomorrow, it seemed reasonable to peek out of my hiatus hideaway and give this episode to you as my birthday present. It was an incredible gift to be able to record it, now I want to share it with you. Happy listening. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Czy finał pierwszego sezonu jest tak otwarty, jak sugerowali to nasi słuchacze? W kogo wciela się tutaj Jacek Koman? Czy Szymas nauczył się rozróżniać plaże? Posłuchajcie.

We've found our latest guilty pleasure about sexy sirens in Netflix's Tidelands! We get into the New Years spirit by explaining our resolutions and talk about who has been called Kenny more in their lifetime. Ken discusses the films he saw between Christmas and New Years. It’s Ken, so its a long list and you should buckle up. He saw The Destroyer with Nicole Kidman, Vice by the people who made The Big Short, and finally Mary Poppins which he saw with his familia. Kendra would have joined the boys of Ken’s family in watching Bumblebee but was too busy showing her own family The Spy Who Dumped Me. Kendra subtly brings up that she got her wisdom teeth out as a form of excuse for why she watched Netflix’s Tidelands in less than 24 hours. The show is an Australian casual mermaid show that doesn’t bother paying for any underwater special effects cause the whole story is just about drugs. Kendra would highly recommend and if anyone from Australia is listening we are extremely sorry about all the Tidelander accent stuff. And our connection to Peri Gilpin... Angela Lansbury was the Ballon Lady in Mary Poppins Returns and was the star of Murder She Wrote, which Jane Leeves was in for an episode in 1987. Nearly 900 volunteers helped clean up the San Diego Bay tidelands on August 29, 2009 at the 19th Annual Operation Clean Sweep. Cleanup spots included Pepper Park and Paradise Creek Marsh in National City, Chollas Creek and Cesar Chavez Park in San Diego and in the waters of South San Diego Bay. It’s the only clean up event in San Diego that has military and civilian divers working collaboratively to clean up the bay floor, and the amount of junk they bring to the surface is always astonishing. Volunteers were busy on both the land and in the water.
