The impact of heavy metals and ultra-processed foods on cognitive decline is a serious public health issue backed by extensive scientific research. By understanding the sources, mechanisms, preventive measures, and detoxification methods, we can take steps to protect our brain health and advocate for a cleaner, safer environment.Heavy metals, such as lead, mercury, arsenic, and cadmium, are naturally occurring elements found in the Earth's crust. While some, like iron and zinc, are essential for biological functions in trace amounts, others are purely toxic. These metals can enter our bodies through various pathways—contaminated food and water, industrial emissions, and even household products. In addition to heavy metals, the consumption of ultra-processed foods has also been linked to cognitive decline. Ultra-processed foods are characterized by their high content of sugar, unhealthy fats, salt, and artificial additives. A study published in the journal Neurology has shown that diets high in ultra-processed foods are associated with an increased risk of cognitive impairment. The study found that individuals who consumed the highest amounts of ultra-processed foods had a 28% faster rate of cognitive decline compared to those who consumed the least. These foods can cause inflammation and oxidative stress in the brain, similar to the effects of heavy metals. This inflammation and stress can lead to damage in brain areas involved in learning, memory, and executive function.Key Findings:Inflammation: Ultra-processed foods can promote systemic inflammation, which affects brain health. Chronic inflammation is a known risk factor for neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and dementia.Oxidative Stress: The high levels of refined sugars and unhealthy fats in ultra-processed foods can increase oxidative stress in the brain, leading to neuronal damage and cognitive decline.Nutrient Deficiency: These foods often lack essential nutrients necessary for brain health, such as omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals, which are crucial for maintaining cognitive function.Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! Scientific studies support the benefits of mindful movement. For instance, a study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology found that regular exercise can be as effective as medication for reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety. Another study published in the journal Frontiers in Psychology found that mindfulness-based movement practices like yoga and Tai Chi can improve mood, reduce stress, and increase overall well-being.In fact, a meta-analysis published in JAMA Psychiatry found that exercise has a large and significant effect on reducing symptoms of depression, regardless of the intensity or duration of the activity. The researchers analyzed 49 studies involving nearly 267,000 participants and found that exercise was associated with a 17% reduction in the risk of developing depression. But how can we incorporate mindful movement into our busy daily lives?Tune into this episode where Noa shares 4 easy steps you can take today to rewire your brain and make movement and new habits part of your daily wellness routine.Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! There are different types of asthma: 1. Neurological asthma2. Vagus nerve asthma3. Phrenic nerve asthma4. Asthma caused by underlying viral conditions such as Epstein-Barr virusIt is possible to heal and to no longer need your inhaler. Healing foods that don't produce mucus and in fact reduce and eliminate it are the place to start—and the key is consistency. Also avoid environmental irritants such as artificial fragrances like cologne and perfume whenever possible. From a Chakra perspective, asthma is energetically related to the 4th chakra, also known as the Heart Chakra. The 4th chakra is located behind the chest around the heart and lungs. This chakra is responsible for our sense of self and our ability to connect with others. When the Heart Chakra is imbalanced, it can manifest physically as an immune system or lung deficiency, such as asthma.Asthma is often associated with a sense of losing one's sense of self or feeling a lack of self-worth, which can lead to a deep-seated desire for acknowledgement from others. This can cause an individual to “live outside of themselves,” focusing more on the happiness of others than their own. To overcome this, it's essential to believe that one can give themselves everything they need to feel happy and fulfilled.Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! "We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”Maybe you've heard of Reiki but don't quite know what it is. Maybe you're considering reiki but aren't sure whether it's right for you. Or maybe your doctor has suggested Reiki as a form of therapy complementary to your existing medical treatments. Whatever it may be, Reiki Master, Eileen Kiely Coffey, is ready to answer all your questions!Reiki is classed as a Biofield energy therapy, it is an energy healing technique and an energy therapy in which the therapist, with or without light touch, accesses universal energy sources that can strengthen the body's ability to heal itself, reduce inflammation, relieve pain and stress and so much more! Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing.Reiki was developed by Mikao Usui in the early 1900s, deriving the term from the Japanese words rei, meaning “universal,” and ki meaning the vital life force energy that flows through all living things. Nowadays, reiki is used all over the world, including in hospitals and hospices, to complement other forms of health treatmentsThe health benefits of reikiReiki promotes relaxation, stress reduction, and symptom relief to improve overall health and well-being. It can:Bring on a meditative stateFoster tissue and bone healing after injury or surgeryStimulate your body's immune systemPromote natural self-healingRelieve pain and tensionSupport the well-being of people receiving traditional medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and kidney dialysis.Studies published in PubMed in 2019 showed the efficacy of reiki in oncology, specialist palliative care, Young Hospitalized Children Receiving Palliative Care, and end-of-life care.As a medical student, I saw firsthand the benefits of energy healing. We conducted an in-class experiment using dark field microscopy for a patient with and without energy healing. 30 mins into the healing session the patient's WBC (white blood cells) were looking healthier!Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! This episode addresses neuroplasticity and the actionable steps we need to take to rebuilding the neural network using different tools. “The first move necessary in fixing anything is to understand what is presently not working. You have to know what the problem is and then name it in order to have power over it”~Joe DispenzaPeople are not doomed by their genes and hardwired to be a certain way for the rest of their life. A new science is emerging that empowers all human beings to create the reality they choose. The world and everything in and on it are made up of matter and energy. From the most microscopic of organisms to the biggest this is true. In humans, looking at the body, there are tissue, cells, molecules, atoms, subatomic particles, and energy. Energy is not just a philosophical idea; it is real and measurable. Even the staunchest critic has to acknowledge the energy of the body. This energy permeates being. This translates not only to the body but to the mind as well. Thoughts can clearly affect body energy in a multitude of ways. Thoughts can also have an effect on the quantum field. Using these principles when an individual focuses on a thought with directed focus, it can become more real than anything else.So ask yourself this; what needs to change?Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! The meaning of JUDGMENT is the process of forming an opinion or evaluation by discerning and comparing. When we are judging, we are automatically being judged- In Hebrew we call it “Ain Hara” (evil eye). There are two names for two types of energy: judgment and mercy. One with absolute order and structure, and one being okay with mistakes and needing more practice. Judgment is Left Column energy; it's the order in the universe, the cause and effect, the energy of the Desire to Receive. Mercy is the Endless, it's Right Column energy; the seed of creation that is above nature, a sharing energy that manifests in our being merciful and forgiving – even if one doesn't deserve forgiveness.Every act of giving is simultaneously an act of receiving. Each time you welcome a gift into your life, you are providing the opportunity for someone to give. Just as a healthy physical heart receives blood from the periphery which it then oxygenates and pumps back out, your emotional heart stays healthy by receiving and giving love in all its forms.Join me, Noa, as I share 6 important tips you can do TODAY to stay out of (self) judgement and and tap into the energy of mercy.Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! Resilience is the process and outcome of successfully adapting to difficult or challenging life experiences, especially through mental, emotional, and behavioral flexibility and adjustment to external and internal demands. Mental resilience is how you deal with and recover from challenging life events. A number of factors contribute to how well people adapt to adversities. When you have resilience, you harness the inner strength that helps you rebound from a setback or challenge, such as a job loss, an illness, a disaster or a loved one's death. If you lack resilience, you might get stuck on problems or feel like a victim. You might feel burdened or turn to ways to cope that aren't healthy, such as drug or alcohol use, eating disorders, or risky behaviors.Resilience won't make your problems go away. But resilience can help you see past them, find ways to enjoy life and better handle stress. If you aren't as resilient as you'd like to be, listen to this episode and learn practical skills to become more resilient.Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! Addressing the root of the imbalance, is to understand the flow of vital energy, the chi, from its source and how consciousness can restore the morphogenetic field when the individual evolves from an ego conditioning mode toward a self-creative mode. In this episode, we explore the winter element how it relates to the individual person.Addressing the root of the imbalance, is to understand the flow of vital energy, the chi, from its source and how consciousness can restore the morphogenetic field when the individual evolves from an ego conditioning mode toward a self-creative mode. So in the winter, try and eat more root vegetables. Nuts, especially walnuts and chestnuts are particularly good for the kidneys. Rabbi Hillel said : "If I'm not for my self: who am I?, If I'm only for my self? what am I?"We need to be for both, not just for me and not just for others. In the heart Integration of the two we have the recognition of the heart self. Loving ourselves means our immune system is at rest. The Chakras (energy centers of the body) are linked with the glands responsible for creating the hormones. The positions of the Chakras correspond to the positions of the glands in the endocrine system and have an effect on their functioning. The link between the Chakras demonstrates that we need to maintain a balance in emotional, mental activities and physical outlets, as they are all deeply interrelated. The Heart Chakra governs the heart, lungs, thymus immunity, blood and circulation. It is the centre of Compassion, Love, Group Consciousness and Spirituality. When the Heart Chakra is open, we experience love, kindness, compassion and affection , but when it is blocked or misaligned, one may experience possessive love, grief, hurt and a feeling of loss, which may then lead to heart disease, breast cancer, myalgia and other immune system and related allergies.Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! In this episode, Noa discusses the effects of smoking tobacco and marijuana on human health, focusing on its impact on our chakras or life energy centers. We all know that smoking could cause asthma-like symptoms, hyperactivity in the immune system, but did you also know that nicotine's effect on the central nervous system contributes to addiction and creates blockages in the lungs that prevent the body from inhaling necessary life force? Nicotine Addiction and Chocolate SolutionNicotine is an addictive drug, partly due to the adrenaline rush that comes from smoking. The anticipation of smoking can cause the adrenaline to rush through the body, which can lead to an addiction to cigarettes. The adrenaline can also lead to eating disorders and weight gain. Using high-quality chocolate as a way to reduce the craving for cigarettes can help. Tune in to the full episode as Noa shares some tricks and tips. According to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Health), one in five adults will experience or have experienced a mental health struggle, that is to say about 47.6 million living with a mental illness. Now, individuals working in the entertainment industry in front of and behind the set/stage are approximately three times more likely to struggle with mental health challenges. While Arts and Entertainment can transcend emotions and benefit our well-being, it's somewhat ironic that production and tech workers — the ones we don't see — are, in fact, suffering.Studies show that rates of suicide and suicidal thinking, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse are significantly higher among entertainment industry professionals than the general population. It's a high-risk business that's rife with uncertainty, job insecurity, and brutal hours, constant competition with others and being subjected to being judged and measured against others is also understandably stressful. Research has shown that simply venting your troubles to a friend is not helpful. So what can we do about it?In this solo episode, Noa shares her insights as a working professional, both as an entertainer in Hollywood and a mental health nutritionist, as well as resources available to anyone who seeks help!Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! There are two different deep roots behind addictions: adrenaline surge dependency and glucose deficiency. Other factors including life stressors, immense pressure, and abuse can also play a part. Nonetheless, adrenaline dependency and glucose deficiency or both, are nearly always involved. When we're deprived of glucose, we'll become obsessed with getting it from a different source and if you've ever found yourself desperate for a sugary treat, a glass of wine or any kind of white bread or pasta, that's your body telling you it needs glucose (from fruits and vegetables). To understand addictions, we must first understand how important glucose is for our bodies, and how our brain needs critical levels of glucose to function optimally. In this solo, bite-sized episode, Noa Dori shares her experience as a mental health and addictions nutritionist and brings to light what is rarely discussed and applied in addiction centers.Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5), defines eating disorders as mental illness. Eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and OSFED (other specified feeding or eating disorder). From a chakra medicine standpoint, the seventh and final chakra, the Crown chakra, called Sahasrara, is the one connecting our human bodies to a field or pure universal intelligence. Considered as the seat of pure consciousness, the Crown chakra correlates with the neocortex, pineal gland, and the thalamic gate. An unbalanced Crown chakra is associated with many mental disorders and depression. When balanced and open, the Crown chakra serves as the bridge into a field of pure being, happiness, and enlightenment. In this bite-sized episode, Noa shares the pressure she personally felt to "look a certain way" as a professional dancer and an actress, and the tools that she uses with her clients to help them overcome negative body image and eating disorders challenges.Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is characterized by deficiencies in social interactions and communication, limited and repetitive behaviors and interests, and in many (but not all) cases, intellectual and language impairments. These symptoms can range from mild to severe. For example, what used to be known as Asperger's disorder would be on the mild end of the spectrum and what was called classic autism—the most serious form of the condition—would be on the opposite end.Recently the diagnostic rate of autism on the milder end of the spectrum has increased greatly, leading us to sometimes forget about the people and families struggling with autism on the severe end of the spectrum. Parents and family members of someone with severe autism, once they learn the cause, can understand that their child or loved one is dealing with severe heavy metal toxicity. Considered as the seat of pure consciousness, the Crown chakra correlates with the neocortex, pineal gland, and the thalamic gate. An unbalanced Crown chakra is associated with many mental disorders, including Bipolar Disorder. As the metals in the emotional centers of the brain heat up, lasting heat radiates from these metals into brain cells and neurons in the emotional centers of the brain. Brain cells and neurons in the region around these metals dehydrate and burn out and atrophy. That alone can result in what I call low-grade renditions of bipolar disorder. For more heightened bipolar disorder, someone needs a trigger, and the ultimate trigger is adrenaline.Join Noa's solo, bite-sized episode as she shares her experience working as a mental health nutritionist, and how attending to her Bipolar clients' real needs helped them achieve homeostasis. Dyslexia is a learning disorder that involves difficulty reading due to problems identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words (decoding). Also called a reading disability, dyslexia is a result of individual differences in areas of the brain that process language.Every case of dyslexia is different because of its cause: exposure in early life, even before birth, to toxic heavy metals such as mercury that saturate a combination of language areas of the brain, which could include learning, visual, and recognition regions. In this solo, bite-sized episode, Noa shares her insight on Dyslexia, heavy metals and some of her favorite healing toolsSign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) was the product of more than ten years of effort by hundreds of international experts in all aspects of mental health. However, despite offering diagnosis criteria, the DSM 5 does not explain the root cause of mental health challenges. Noa's solo bite-size episode discusses the root cause of ADHD and how toxic heavy metals such as caffeine, solvents, fragrances, perfumes, colognes, air fresheners, scented candles, MSG, DDT, petrochemicals, radiation, plastic, and more can contribute to neurons' damage.Modern integrative medicine is redefined through the concept of human potential rather than dysfunction and disease. This implies another set of parameters that evaluate the full range of health. The fundamental focus of medicine on seeking to identify what is wrong, is then shifted toward the interest in what can be done to bring an individual to their full potentiality.Resources:Amen ClinicsBrain Saver/ Anthony WilliamSign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! If you have been given a confusing autoimmune diagnosis and have been told that your body is attacking itself, you may already feel disempowered and hopeless. I am here to share with you the tools that have personally helped me overcome Hashimoto Thyroiditis and to burst that bubble. Your body is NOT attacking itself. It never attacks itself. This is a misguided theory. Our body is not attacking itself, but it is attacking a virus called Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) that is creating the symptoms you are experiencing. The reality is that most everyone has some sort of worms . Yes, even healthy people with no symptoms. However be mindful that viruses & bacterias are common co-infection, so its imperative that we have a comprehensive process to fight pathogens! Children who don't wash their hands often or adults who eat raw fish and under cooked meat or people who drink from contaminated water resources are most at risk for contracting parasites, but it can happen to anyone. Being in poor health is basically opening the door for these invaders to establish themselves in your body, and slowly feeding off your inner resources. This can cause nutrient deficiencies; a suppressed immune system, which can further perpetuate disease; This is a vicious cycle - poor health weakens the immune system, thus attracting more pathogens and bacteria. In conventional medicine, anti-parasitic drugs, such as praziquantel and mebendazole, are the first line of defense. The problem is that these drugs can cause many uncomfortable side effects that can be almost as bad as the parasitic infection itself, including nausea, vomiting, headaches, weight loss, and insomnia. The damage parasites have caused before treatment will determine if you need additional pharmaceutical intervention, but there are many other things one can do do clean up their terrain and rid their bodies of those creepy crawlies Join host Noa Dori and her guest Dr. Kelly Carter in their discussion about parasites and what to do about them! More about Dr. Carter:Dr. Kelly Carter, a returning guest from episode 47: Modern Day Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine with Dr. Kelly Carter. “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”Life's kaleidoscope of experiences has been shown to be a paradoxical blend of joy and sorrow, love and sadness, where moments of profound beauty and happiness blend with sadness as a testament to that same co-existence within life's inherent contradictions.Perhaps, in embracing this dissonance and duality, we find the emotional landscapes of our soul, navigating through the ebbs and flows of the joys of life, and sadness all with grace and acceptance. The capacity to hold both light and darkness is the resilience of the human spirit. If you find yourself caught in the cognitive and emotional discord of love and sadness, know that you are not alone. Savor the joy and love, while allowing tears to cleanse your soul. This is the profound beauty that lies in the intricate polarities life is about and this is the conversation Brooke and Noa embarked on with Dr. Roy Gonik. In this episode we discuss:1. The healing power of love2. The light switch of love and fear3. The five elements of Ancient Chinese wisdom and the connection to our body's organs, emotions, nutrition and more!About Dr. Roy GonikDr. Roy Gonik(ND, OMD) has been the owner of a successful clinic for 26 years. “Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow".Thanksgiving is a day when many people step out of the fray and take a moment to give thanks for whatever blessings there are in our lives. No matter how tough life gets, we all have things for which we can be thankful. Do you want to know what happens when you give thanks? It turns out that gratitude is good for you!Today, scientific research is finding that expressing gratitude has distinct, measurable, and beneficial effects not just on your mood, but also on your hormone balance, the functioning of your nervous system, and even the quality of your digestion.Thanksgiving can be about so much more than putting up with annoying relatives, gorging on a dead turkey, and passing out in front of the TV. It can be an opportunity to remember how very much we have to be grateful for and so Brooke and Noaare connecting to gratitude right now as the ultimate state of receivership. The more that we can express gratitude in our lives, our vibration is elevated and we in turn allow more abundance to come into our lives. You may want to take notes as Brooke and Noa share practical tips on how to deal with family drama, overeating and dehydration so that you can flow through the holidays mentally, physically and nutritionally with ease and grace.Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! Everybody wants transformation and rapid success, but we must realize that small habits and little choices already transform us daily! This episode, inspired by James Clear's book Atomic Habits, discusses: 1) Everyone wants a magic pill, the high-risk thing to get to the "THERE" now, but what does that mean, and how much pleasure do we experience now while we plan for our "there"? What's the overall intention in our life now while we "wait"?2) To change and grow, we must get through the challenge; the body attests to it because even it grows as we stress a muscle. 3) We get bored quickly, so it's essential to set a goal, see a positive change slowly, and keep motivated for the long-term goal4) We can forge a new identity, and if we can change our habits, we can change our lives and BECOME whomever we choose to be.Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! "As you start to look at this war over our microbiome, we are finding an increasing need since the 1940s to kill more and more microorganisms because of the vulnerabilities in the immune system we've created by sterilizing these bodies." Dr. Zach BushIn this episode, Brooke and Noa discuss the 1800s academic debate between two French scientists, Louis Pasteur and Bechamp, and how these arguments resurfaced during the recent pandemics. We did not understand at the time how to support the innate and adaptive immune systems. We started to see all germs as pathogens, so we tried to adopt this belief that we had to sterilize the human condition or else infections would happen. We did not know that a bacterium was doing 90% of the work done in the human body, so we started giving kids in the 1940s and 50s an injection of penicillin for absolutely anything they came in for.As this started, we began to see weaker and weaker elements within the food system and our biome, which led to the need for antibiotics for all living things: plants, animals, and people.Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! “The only thing that will end hatred for no reason, is love for no reason.”In lieu of recent tragic events in Israel, Brooke and Noa embark on an intimate conversation and come together to support one another and others during these trying times. When we see chaos around us it means that our job has increased. There are miracle stories that were awakened amidst extreme darkness. As a global community, holding space for one another and remembering the strength of unity, compassion, resilience and empathy is essential. It is easy to feel helpless in times like these, and yet we must remind ourselves that there is always something we can do for ourselves and others. We pray that this episode will help raise our consciousness and increase our spiritual capacity for compassion, so that out of the darkness we can create greater Light and long lasting positive unity.Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! "Cultivate the power to pause, for within that precious moment are seeds of awareness, choice and response, which sprout joy, love and freedom." In this episode we talk to Julie Dean, recipient of women of intention award as “Voice of Inspiration”, and founder of Twin Cities Mussar, about the core concepts and practice of Mussar, as a way to live life with greater alignment, resulting in more joy and connection.Mussar is an engaging Jewish spiritual pathway of personal transformation for the sake of creating a better world. For centuries, Jewish scholars, philosophers and theologians have explored the deep questions of what creates a meaningful, purposeful life. How do we actually live our values and align our behaviors with our intentions? How do we learn to respond to life in a way that brings us and others greater connection, happiness and peace? By increasing our awareness, development and practice of how we express different soul traits, we learn how to respond to the world in ways that help bring about positive changes in personal outlook, interpersonal relationships, and closer connections with everyone in our lives.Resourcestwincitiesmussar.orgqueermussar.orgGrowing a Mussar Community - inspirational documentary about Twin Cities MussarMaking of a Mensch - short, entertaining film about MussarSign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! "Sometimes in life, we feel like everything is going just fine...until it's not. In those moments, we may need to look inside ourselves to see if we rely on things we can't always control to make us feel complete, centered, or "okay." Once we remember that that feeling of "life energy" comes from within us, we can return to our inner power." Today, Brooke and Noa sit down with Wild Moon founder, Bri Martinez, to discuss the following: 1) How we can learn more about ourselves as women through tracking the "inner" seasons of our menstrual cycles and their connection to the outer seasons2) How connecting to our senses is a missing link in practicing more profound gratitude, joy, and manifestation in our lives3) How learning "hard skills" like tying knots, making fires, or learning navigation can increase our feelings of resilience, which can then be translated into resilience in our children4. How the desire to learn more complex skills can balance both our feminine and masculine archetypes. "Fight for the things that you care about. Interestingly, the word “healing” has the same etymological root as “wholeness.” This means that healing in the ultimate sense is achieving wholeness. Patanjali said that all our suffering comes from the ignorance of believing that we are separate from the whole. Rather, to heal the disease of separateness is to integrate into the whole, realizing that we have never been separate; separateness is an illusion. The philosopher Ernest Holmes (1938), who founded a healing tradition called Science of Mind stated: “Healing is not accomplished through willpower but by knowing the Truth".In this solo episode, Noa shares her hands-on expertise with a client, and how accessing the client's "mental body" was key to the client healing the physical body. In this materialist culture, when we speak of strategies for good health, we include good hygiene, good nutrition, exercise, and a regular checkup. We are really speaking of caring for the physical body. In contrast, positive health begins when we start caring also for our vital, mental, supra-mental, and even bliss body. What does good hygiene for the vital or mental body mean? Just as physical hygiene tells us to avoid harmful physical environments, similarly, vital and mental hygiene must mean avoiding vital and mental pollution. As psychologist Uma Goswami says, “Emotions are more contagious than bacteria and viruses." Dive into Brooke and Noa's conversation about easy snacks, bento boxes, subsidized foods, and how to set your child (and yourself) up for success this year!According to the World Health Organization, health is "a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely an absence of disease or infirmity” (WHO). There are times when health and nutrition often get mixed up. According to the WHO, nutrition entails fruit, vegetables, legumes, nuts, whole, unprocessed grains, etc., and is a critical part of healthy development. Better nutrition improves more robust immune systems and lower risk of diabetes and longevity. However, even the WHO is aware of the challenge of having a population that suffers from malnutrition and overweight at the same time. Mostly, due to lack of available nutrients in the processed food items that are being subsidized and pushed to the public schools and cafeterias. The focus on health without the attention to the nutrient-rich nutrition needed is the root cause of obesity and poor food in cafeterias. We live in a health-driven society that does not attend to the nutritional details needed to fight obesity and diabetes trajectory in our kids.Sign up to Noa's NEW 360 Wellness course and receive a 15% coupon code when you mention Raising the New Earth Podcast! In this episode, Brooke and Noa share eight things we can do to enhance children's innate wonder of life and how not to get stuck in the parent-child labeling. 1. Allow them to teach us. Our children are closer to the non-physical world; they have come from the non-physical into the physical. Spirituality teaches us that our soul chooses our parents and family before coming to this world. We make this choice because our family is comprised of the perfect souls to teach us the lessons we need to learn so that we can become the person we are meant to be2. Kids who feel secure are the ones that feel the most free to play. Allow them to be innately who they are, not who we think they should be. 3. Fostering an environment where they don't seek the approval of others. Children are free of judgment - and then, ultimately, they "learn" to look for the approval of others. 4. Connection to Source - Kids are more intuitive, and as such, they feel things we may not. Listen to that intuition when they do not want to hug someone; it's valid.5. Stop defending their behavior: they usually express our own internal feelings.6. Natural Expression of Feelings - help them translate their feelings into words without going into frustration and anger. Check-in with yourself first.7. Children's brains are like sponges, and in their theta brain wave, they Tare in super learning Innately connected state. Allow them to go into their creative mode. 8. Sibling rivalry - spiritual traditions teach us that children choose their siblings and must learn from each other. Look at it from a more spiritual lens- how can I be their guide and facilitate what's going on rather than correct their behavior?Resources:1.
