You're about to meet my friend Sabrina Schroeder, who is single, smart, adventurous, athletic, hilarious, a cat lover, defiantly carnivorous, a beer enthusiast, and a million more things.  Oh yeah, she's also disabled. In this episode, we talk about what it's like to date when you're disabled. How she meets people. What it's like to have sex when you have disabilities. How she navigates the always complex dating world, and the hilarious way she's rebelling against her parents. You'll never guess in a million years. Nearly 1 in 4 adults in the United States has some type of disability. Very focused on the importance of representation, in this conversation, Sabrina shares great advice about acceptance, honest communication, and best practices for dating someone disabled. Spoiler Alert: Her advice is great for everyone regardless of ability. Although this is a very funny conversation at times, whatever your personal circumstances or relationship status may be, there's a lot to be learned here. As Sabrina says on her blog, “By recognizing the diverse range of disabilities, both visible and invisible, we can work towards a more inclusive society that values and respects the experiences and needs of all individuals.” You can find out more about Sabrina and contact her through her website: BeyondBarriers.net She's on Instagram @sabrina_schroeder93 and on Facebook. May was National Masturbation Month! Did you spend all 31 days dialing your rotary phone?   I certainly hope so.   You may not realize this, but one of the keys to stronger, longer lasting orgasms is a healthy pelvic floor. But what is a pelvic floor, and does it require a cork underlayment?   Sorry…I watch a lot of home improvement shows. On this episode, I talk to Dr. Rachel Gelman. With over 15,000 hours of clinical practice under her belt (pun intended) Rachel is a leading expert on pelvic health. For the next half hour, she's your guide to, as she calls it, the “cave of wonders.” We learn the ins and outs of these true core muscles and how painful sex, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and many other issues are often signs you should see a pelvic health expert. We talk about the Kegel industrial complex, menopause myths, and why you should not be afraid to see a pelvic health expert. At 20:04 Dr. Gelman offers simple tips to help you maintain tip top pelvic health, and even reveals the $25 late night infomercial product that might be the solution to everything. I am not shitting you! (Hint, hint.) Having sex with someone new can be a potentially stressful situation. “How do I measure up with their other partners?” “What do they think of my body?” “Am I pleasing them?” Now, imagine you're in bed with a professional SEX COACH whose job is to teach people how to enjoy the most fulfilling sex and pleasure possible. That is A LOT of pressure. For you…and them. On this episode I speak with Wendy Perkins, a trauma-informed orgasm, and neuro-pleasure coach. An author and sought-after expert who's been featured in BuzzFeed News, Wendy hacked her own ADHD, and now helps people discover unique pathways to take ownership of their pleasure. Oh yeah… she's also single and dating. As you could imagine, when potential sex partners find out she's an orgasm and pleasure coach…well, the reactions she gets are pretty surprising. Wendy reveals how male potential sex partners typically fall into one of three categories when they learn about her job. Female potential sex partners have a completely different reaction. Plus, there are the folks who flat-out expect a free sex masterclass every time she gets in bed with them. Yeah not so much. She also shares pro tips on how to “guide” a partner in bed without making it seem like a lesson, and the best thing to say to get out of a night of terrible sex. There's a lot to be gained from this fun conversation. Wendy Perkins can be reached for private coaching and more at Owning Your O and can be found online @owningyouro. Amish Paradise. Eat It. Like A Surgeon. I Love Rocky Road. Smells Like Nirvana. I Lost On Jeopardy. White & Nerdy… Since the early 80s, “Weird Al” Yankovic has been churning out hit song parodies, some more enduring than the original songs that inspired them. An unapologetic nerd and proud outsider, his songs are not just commentaries on pop culture, they're also full of references to Star Wars, comic books and lunch meats. But there's something about the “King Of The Nerds” that speaks directly to his army of die-hard fans: It's 100% cool to be yourself, especially if you're weird. One of the outsiders Weird Al inspired is Pickles Kintaro, a burlesque dancer in San Francisco. In this episode, Pickles reveals how, as an outsider for most of her life, Weird Al's music absolutely validated her and empowered her to accept herself and then completely celebrate her weirdness. With nothing but a butter churn stripper pole, and a dream, Pickles gathered a team of misfit burlesque dancers with a shared mission. They called themselves, Tight and Nerdy: The First and Only All Weird Al-inspired Burlesque Troupe. And a legend was born. Okay, maybe not a legend but a lot of really hilarious shows. Thanks to Weird Al's legions of fans and an Instagram shout out from the King of the Nerds himself, the burlesque show was a hit from the jump.   Then they caught the eyes of filmmakers who decided to produce a documentary all about it. The film is called Showgals: The Documentary, and as of this writing it's currently the second most popular documentary product on Kickstarter. Please support this fantastic film and its lovely filmmakers here. Will “Tight and Nerdy” faithfully continue their naked tribute to Weird Al? Or are they hanging up their bologna? This question and so much more will be addressed in this very fun and revealing interview. 100,000 DOWNLOADS, BITCHES! This episode marks the 4th anniversary of Sex Ed The Musical. RE/INVENTED EMILY SINCLAIR

“Follow your bliss and don't be afraid. Doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be.” —Joseph Campbell Imagine you've produced some of the biggest hit shows in television. You've won accolades and prestigious, pointy awards for your work. You're at the top of your game and everyone wants to hire you. Yet, you're totally miserable. Not so hard to believe, really. In this Re/Invented interview I speak with Emily Sinclair. An executive producer at the top of the TV game, Emily had it all. Executive Producing fancy shows…constant work…big money…someone always handing you coffee the second you want it…life at the top of the TV industry can be very seductive. On the surface. But Emily Sinclair had other priorities and instead of being an MVP, she was secretly more interested in the MLS. So, she walked away from the top of the TV industry and found a new home in real estate. And she's never been happier. Tons of us are toiling away in careers we secretly hate. Worried that our colleagues might judge us for leaving. Fearful that walking away will be the biggest mistake imaginable. Well, you only get one life so you can spend it miserable and worried about what everyone else is thinking of you (they're not). Or you can follow YOUR bliss and do that thing you truly, madly, deeply want to do. As Lucille Ball once said, “I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.” And you know what, Lucy's risks led to a pretty fucking awesome life. In this conversation, you'll discover how Emily Sinclair realized she was miserable. How she worked through her fears of walking away from a big career, to work for no money at all. How she dealt with worries over her family, friends and colleagues judging her. Advice for anyone else who's spending all day miserable instead of taking a big chance…on themself. INTERVIEW SELECTS: 2:08 Women working in TV basically age in dog years. And there aren't a lot of women in their 50s hanging around the craft service table. Trust me. 9:33 I was like, ugh, the world doesn't need another fucking Realtor. And one of my friends said, “The world needs a good Realtor.” 10:23 I was looking for this kind of home and I found it in real estate. 10:58 There's always someone younger, thinner, and hotter, whatever. There was always someone younger than me who didn't have kids and was fine with traveling 6-9 months out of the year. And I became that annoying producer who was like, “I really need to be home.” 11:23 I felt like the universe was absolutely just guiding me. 12:11 I felt for sure that people were going to think I was a failure. And there's sort of a Stockholm Syndrome that comes with being in entertainment. They beat you up, they make you feel like shit. And the moment you do something good, you're the best thing ever. 12:26 I remembered feeling like, I never want to quit cause I'm not a quitter. I want to hold on as long as I possibly can! 13:15 I watched (my dad) fail so many times I was like, I'm not gonna let go of television! 13:57 I was really concerned that people were going to say, She failed! She couldn't hack it! She didn't make it. Like all that sort of mean girls stuff. And what I found instead was people would reach out to me and be like, oh my god, I love what you're doing. 17:04 When I closed my first deal, it was truly like giving birth to a three headed cyclops. 17:38 I remember getting in my car and I broke into tears, cause I was so happy. Cause I was changing these peoples' lives. 18:18 I have agency over my life. I decide when and where I work. I decide which clients I want to work with, and I have absolutely fired clients before. I never feel abused now. 19:57 If I could go back in time, and be with myself once again, I would say, “Honey, you are worth so much more than this shit.” 21:26 Don't worry about the money. It's gonna fill your soul for the next 20 years or whatever. People get so caught up in the money. Trust me when I say an Emmy Award-winning TV producer knows all of the secrets to making your house look spectacular. WHEN YOUR SEXUAL FANTASY COMES TRUE

fan·ta·sy /ˈfan(t)əsē/ noun Imagination, especially when extravagant and unrestrained. Often impossible or improbable. It's a fact. We all have fantasies. From scoring the game-winning touchdown, to winning an Academy Award, to destroying the drum kit in your next door neighbor's garage with a sledge hammer. I'm speaking hypothetically, of course. Fantasies are a healthy and normal part of the human experience. Within the vast array of fantasies, you'll also find Sexual Fantasies. Their main purpose is to turn us on. But what happens if one of them actually comes true? They say you should never meet your heroes because there's a good chance they won't possibly live up to your expectations. I get that. Is it the same for sexual fantasies? Are they better kept in the imagination? What if you had the chance to make your biggest sexual fantasy come true in a perfectly safe and consensual way? A sexual fantasy you've been dreaming about as long as you can remember. Would you do it? My guest this week was given the opportunity to make her biggest sexual fantasy come true. Instead of overthinking or being fearful that it or even she might not live up to her expectations, she simply said, “Let's do this!” That split-second decision changed her entire life. You're about to meet a woman who emailed me and said she got the chance to live out her life-long sexual fantasy. She wanted to share her story with me on my podcast. After I determined this was an actual person, and a very funny and charming one at that, I was all in. “Let's do this!” This has to be one of my favorite interviews of all time. And within all of the life-changing lessons she learned in this one fateful night, there's a lot of takeaway: Why is authenticity the ultimate aphrodisiac? What's the one trait all happy couples share? Why did someone bring nachos to a sex party? You're going to get all of these answers and a whole lot more in this very fun, candid and inspirational conversation I had with a total stranger…who's no stranger to happiness. Welcome back you sickening bitches! (sorry…I've been watching a lot of RuPaul's Drag Race) Sooooo, after going Under Covers with a few fellas, I figured I'd flip the script and in this episode speak to a professional in the world of sex. A Sex Coach, to be exact. Okay, what's a Sex Coach? Great question, thank you for asking. According to the folks at Sex Coach U, Sex Coaching is not is not sex therapy. (Sex Coaches) focus on the present and the future, helping clients move towards what they want to achieve. Sex coaching typically takes place over a shorter time frame than sex therapy. Sex coaches are not sex workers. Most sex coaches will work “talk-only” with clients and sex coaches do not offer erotic services. In this Under Covers conversation, find out how a childhood with hippie parents shaped the sex coach. How her early sexual experiences and freedom created a natural transition to helping others with their own sex lives. We go into her experiences with kink, role playing and all sorts of private places…with full consent, as always. Wherever you are on your journey, remember that there are trained professionals out there who can guide you. Most of us have been raised with a lot of shame and trauma when it comes to sex and sometimes you need someone uniquely trained to help you understand that, unpack it and then kick that shit to the curb. There's never any shame in asking for help. In other news, I think my semi-sabbatical has come to an end. I'm going to be releasing shows with much more regularity now. I appreciate your patience and for you listening and following the show. Thank you, thank you, thank you. UNDER COVERS -- FOREST

This week's conversation is with a male, who spent his first 24 years as a female. Not exactly by choice. As Forest says on his website, thehumanconditioncoaching.com “Growing up as a doubly closeted gay boy in the Midwest, I cultivated a vivid world inside my head where I felt safe and free. Eventually, I would have to come out of hiding no matter how scary it felt. I realized the fear was never going to disappear, but I felt like I was starting to disappear after so many years of keeping parts of myself boxed in.” For the first 24 years of his life, Forest didn't have the language to articulate his experience and was unable to identify himself as transgender. Feeling uncomfortable in his own body, Forest went on an incredible journey to discover his truth. Now that he has, he's helping others find their way as well. A self-described empathic, spiritual, queer, trans, kinky, white boy with a vulva, Forest knows a thing or two about authenticity and pleasure. Which is why I really loved going Under Covers with him this week. He's also the first person I've interviewed Under Covers that requested his identity not be hidden. This is because he's on a mission to help others with his work. He continues… “Healing my relationship with my body, my gender and my sexuality has been at the center of my journey. Abuse has become so normalized in society that sometimes it becomes difficult to notice we are feeling disconnected from ourselves, our needs, our wants, our joy, our pleasure, our senses. It is no accident that people who are not cis white straight men often feel shame around their body and sexuality.” Forest feels called on to share everything he's learned and to guide folks on their own paths inward. Healing is at the center of his work and regardless of where you are on the gender spectrum, there's a lot of information and inspiration to be gained from this conversation. For relationship resources and more, please visit Forest's website thehumanconditioncoaching.com Or you can email him at radiantforest77@gmail.com Now…for this conversation, all you need to know is that Forest practices solo polyamory, is a writer, visionary and spiritual slut. 7th grade. It's a boy/girl party in my best friend's basement. There are about 10 of us there. Rumors by Fleetwood Mac, is playing non-stop on the record player. The lights are low. The air is filled with equal parts anticipation and terror. Someone suggests we play a game called 7 Minutes in Heaven. The voice you're about to hear belongs to someone who was also at that party. We eventually lost touch with each other when I moved to the big city in 8th grade, but we recently reconnected. When I asked him if he'd be interested in being interviewed as part of the Under Covers series he graciously agreed. I have no nostalgia for my middle school years. I always felt like a misfit and a weirdo back then. Probably because I was a misfit and a weirdo back then. I never had the right clothes or the right shoes or the right anything. I was frequently bullied and take joy in knowing that my biggest bully married into what's been described as an extremist religious cult. She is now is required to wear a wig and obey her husband at all times. Meanwhile, I do whatever the fuck I want and eat all the bacon I desire. Bwahahahaha! Yep, I'm a little triggered by all of this episode but the truth is, this episode ain't about me. Three years ago on this podcast, I began asking women I'd never met a series of questions about the most intimate details of their lives. I called the interviews Under Covers and you can find all of them here. All of the women were asked identical questions about their sexual awakenings, sex education, partners, early experiences and long term relationships, with the hope that my listeners could find healing in discovering how much we all share. This season, I've flipped the script. I'm taking the exact questions I asked women, and I'm asking them to men. Last week I interviewed “David.” A married, gay man, his answers to my questions were incredibly honest, revealing and often hilarious. In this Under Covers episode I speak with someone I'm calling “Josh.” All you need to know is that “Josh” has been divorced twice, identifies as very heterosexual, and once spent 7 Minutes in Heaven with me in my best friend's basement. “This is the best way for me to be seen. How I want to be seen. And that is as a Muslim woman.” When nurse practitioner Neda walked into a pole dancing class while wearing a hijab, she had no agenda. A life-long athlete, she had purchased a Class Pass and decided to use it to learn some “ho stuff” from “a bunch of strippers.” However, she learned a lot more than just some “ho stuff,” and by the end of her first class, she was hooked to the pole. Now with nearly 50,000 followers on Instagram, @hijabluscious is a study in sharp contrasts. Despite the fact that in much of the western world, a hijab is often interpreted as a symbol of Muslim women's oppression, she proudly rocks her head and neck covering while pulling off some dope shit on the pole. “I had people trying to share my videos out of contempt. HOW TO SEDUCE YOURSELF

Imagine you had the perfect partner. Someone who constantly saw to your needs. Put you first. Gave you whatever you wanted whenever you wanted it. Treated you with respect, tenderness and unconditional love at all times. Sounds pretty amazing, huh? Well, it turns out this relationship is possible. That very person is right within reach. Closer than you'd ever imagine. That person is YOU. On this episode, I lead you to a partner who gives you the ultimate in acceptance, pampering, seduction and satisfaction. At the center of it all is trust. Trusting yourself. Most of us have been socialized to put ourselves last. To be responsible for everyone else's feelings and needs — even if they're not aligned with our own. Well, it's time to put that bullshit in the rear view mirror and learn how to seduce and satisfy yourself. All of this is not necessarily groundbreaking, but thanks to Complexity Bias we often discredit the simplest things in life, even though they often work the best. This week, I'm showing you just how easy it is to seduce yourself. You're welcome.   Mentioned In This Episode… (Some Affiliate Links) The Perfect Loofah Irish Spring D'Affinois Brie (The cheese that women cannot resist) Literotica Danielle Steel Lady Chatterley's Lover by D.H. Cynthia Nixon. Meredith Baxter. Niecy Nash. Cassandra Peterson/Elvira. Elizabeth Gilbert. Glennon Doyle. Carol Liefer. Wanda Sykes. What do the incredibly accomplished and talented women on this list all have in common? They all dated and/or married men…until later in life when they all fell in love with other woman. Often to their own surprise. Known as Later in Life Lesbians, these women discovered an entirely new level of intimacy, happiness and sexual satisfaction, with members of the same sex. It should be no surprise. In a recent study, 95% of heterosexual men said they reached orgasm when being sexually intimate. How many hetero women had orgasms with their male partners? 65%. Read that again. 95% of straight men had orgasms. 65% of straight women. In comparison, the orgasm rate for lesbians was 86%. Not that I even need to explain this, but the women who reported more orgasms were recipients of more oral sex. Because, of course. Men, I've been saying this for years. You are the next Fotomat. What is driving so many women to switch teams later in life? Is this part of a much bigger trend? Is this all a backlash because so many straight women are sexually dissatisfied due to their male partners? Is this all about the dishwasher? Whatever the case may be, sexuality is lot more fluid than many realize. To get some answers, I speak with Coming Out Coach, Anne-Marie Zanzal. An author, and herself, a later in life lesbian, she provides one-on-one and group coaching to women coming out later in life. Her memoir Authentic Peace tells the story of her chaotic childhood, challenging marriage, sexual awakening, and recreating her life after 50. We talk about the growing phenomenon of women becoming lesbians later in life. The not-so surprising reasons behind their decisions. And then she gives me her Are You Secretly a Lesbian test. It was an oral exam, natch. No matter where you are on your journey, there's a good chance you've made many life choices for reasons you don't even realize. A lot of people stay in unsuccessful relationships for all sorts of reasons. It can be challenging to understand a brand new attraction or perhaps feelings you've kept suppressed for years. But, remember, life is short. You deserve all of the happiness and consensual pleasure you desire. Slut. Whore. Trollop. Skank. Nympho. THAT kind of girl. Have you ever noticed how many words there are for judging women who enjoy sex? Now let's consider some of the words for men who enjoy sex. Gigolo. Stud. Casanova. Player. Ladies' man. Wait a second! All of those are compliments! That's weird. No, it's actually quite deliberate. In fact, if you want to insult a man who likes sex, you have to call him a man whore or a man slut. That's right, you have to call him a name that is reserved for demeaning women. On this episode, I read an excerpt from my new book, 3 Secrets To The Happy and Healthy Relationship You've Always F*cking Wanted. The chapter, entitled, Choose Your Words Wisely, addresses how the language often used for women who openly enjoy sex or celebrate their sexuality, is nothing more than an attack on our autonomy. It's also rooted in patriarchal expectations of women and a way to keep us at odds with each other. This is completely calculated because infighting among the oppressed is what keeps us oppressed. So, in this episode I unpack the reasons why you might be thinking that sex and pleasure are not for you. Spoiler Alert: We've been brainwashed throughout history to think this way. The truth is, you have every right to sexual pleasure and one way to allow more of said pleasure into your life is to deprogram yourself. That's a big part of my book and also my work with other women who want to stop leaving so much pleasure on the table. Speaking of my work, thanks to our friendly global pandemic it's been almost two years since I've been able to speak before a live audience. I've missed you motherfuckers! Last week, one of my listeners collaborated with the fine folks at Dama Wines in Walla Walla, Washington and I hopped on a plane (actually 2 planes) to Walla Walla for a really fun meet and greet with my readers. Before the book signing we had a really fun Q&A about sex and pleasure. Did I mention there was a lot of amazing wine on hand? Yeah, that didn't hurt. Anyway, this event made me realize just how much I miss meeting my readers and listeners face to face, so I came up with the single greatest or possibly most disastrous idea ever — which is why I'm all about it. If you have a book club and you and your friendies choose my book, I'll Zoom in, say hello and we can have a fun Q&A. (Wine or no wine is up to you). We'll keep it fun and light but it's a great way for me to say hello and get to know to the folks who are reading and enjoying my book. Is that you? It is!?! Well then let's talk, sister! I can certainly see why you might assume my life is a non-stop, swinging, suburban bacchanal. Unfortunately it's a lot less groovy than you'd imagine. Sure I can be found at the occasional sex party. However, while most folks are there for NSA, consensual hook ups, I'm likely being overwhelmed by bad flooring. That's because I have a problem. I'm a serial remodeler. As a result, I'm totally addicted to home improvement and real estate shows. I watch hours and hours of kindly Canadian contractors, stressed-out house flippers, kitchen and bathroom rescues, and people pretending to house hunt. If I'm being totally honest, it's really more of a love/hate relationship. I love the shows but I hate the insane needs they invent for said hunters. “We need 11 bedrooms, 10+ acres, must be walking distance to city center, with a 360 degree mountain view, spa bathroom, spa living room, spa crawl space, zero-gravity sneaker closet, cat washing room, 35 car rooftop garage in an Open-Concept-Victorian-Tudor-Mid-Century-Modern-Farmhouse-Turnkey-Fixer. Our budget is up to $45,000.” Cut To: Me yelling at the TV. But the other day as I was hate watching, I started to wonder if some of us apply these same insanely picky standards to other aspects of life. Specifically dating. If you look at how you're searching for a partner through the prism of house hunting, are your superficial requirements pricing you out of the market? Yes, you should always have high standards. I'm simply suggesting that in order to find true love, some folks might need a little emotional remodeling. And that's where this week's guest, Veronica Grant, comes in. Veronica Grant is a Love + Life Coach, host of the Love Life Connection podcast, and creator of the Deep Work Deep Love Course suite. Veronica's work has been featured in O the Oprah Magazine, Bustle, Your Tango, and countless podcasts. As someone who struggled in love herself and was tired of unsolicited and usually patronizing dating advice (even if well-meaning), she created the resources she wished were available before she met her husband. She's here with great advice on how to shake up how you find love. We talk about the surprising forces behind bad decision-making. How to recognize if you're assigning happiness to the wrong things. Plus, the one part of your body that never, ever lies. Oh yeah, she's also obsessed with home improvement and house hunting shows so we have a lot of fun with this one. HOW TO FIX MEN -- WITH TRAVER BOEHM

The standards of masculinity are not exactly clear. On one end of the spectrum, you have the guy driving a Prius who's in touch with his feelings, does yoga, drinks kombucha, has tons of female friends and rejects all forms of violence. On the other end, you have the guy driving a giant pick up truck who's addicted to violence, porn, hating women, dominating men, and who rejects anything perceived as “feminine” such as admitting any kind of weakness or asking for help. There has to be a middle ground. Perhaps a dude in a BMW addicted to violent yoga? I don't know. But it's clear that with the rise of the #MeToo movement, rampant sexual violence and addiction, the normalization of misogynistic hate groups and the fact that an entire generation of young men are now being vastly outnumbered by women in college admissions, men are at a crisis point. Can men be fixed? This week's guest, Traver Boehm believes they can. And he's just the guy to do it. Traver Boehm knows men. How they think, what's behind their behavior, and most importantly — their unique challenges in today's evolving landscape. Traver is the the founder of the UNcivilized Men's Movement, the author of Man UNcivilized as well as a two time TEDx speaker, and podcaster. Traver believes that many men are suffering from unprocessed trauma, more often than not, inflicted by other men. Of course, as one of millions of women who've had to endure unchecked male privilege, nauseating mansplaining, being paid less than male colleagues for the same work, sexual impropriety, walking through parking lots with keys laced through my fingers, being completely diminished, ignored, and charged more for just about everything, I have a somewhat difficult time feeling sorry for the apex predator. On the other hand, I honestly like men and I think it would benefit everyone if the broken ones seriously got their shit together. This is will not be an easy conversation for some of you to hear. If I somehow offend you with my feminist point of view, please know that I don't fucking care. (See list of justifiable complaints above). Looking for some next-level guidance, I reached out to a Shaman I had met a few months earlier at a retreat. She point blank asked me, "Exactly what is it you want to do?" Without even thinking I replied, "I want to help women and laugh all day." She looked at me softly in this very knowing way and said, "Then do that." Uhhh… So, I did exactly that. Welcome Back! Yep, I've taken a few weeks off this summer to release my first book, 3 Secrets To The Happy and Healthy Relationship You've Always F*cking Wanted which, I am thrilled to announce is a…   A Top 100 Book on Amazon and the #1 NEW RELEASE IN SEXUAL HEALTH!   I wrote this book because I realized that millions of people are caught up in toxic relationship overthinking. They're constantly repeating the same mistakes and bad decisions with no idea how to change this behavior. In my work as a Sexologist and the creator of premium, sex-positive programming, I've discovered if you really want to have a happy and healthy relationship, you only need to do 3 things. And one of the things has nothing to do with your partner at all! Once you put my 3 Secrets into play, a lifetime of love, happiness and fun can follow. 3 Secrets To The Happy & Healthy Relationship You've Always F*cking Wanted is a completely clear and candid roadmap to relationship success, offering ADVANCED SEX TIPS, TOYS, and ROMANTIC ADVENTURES that will turn you into a Stealth Superfreak. Plus, IRRESISTIBLE AND SIMPLE RECIPES designed to set the table for romance. In addition, the book features an entire section specifically designed to empower women to become the AUTHENTIC, SHAMELESS, POWERFUL, SELF-LOVING, EPIC BADASSES they've always wanted to be. Whether you've been with a partner for years or you're currently single, this is the last relationship book you'll ever need. Oh and fellas…trust me when I tell you that this book is THE PERFECT GIFT for your female partner. Trust. Me. Now, I'm super thrilled to be sharing the most downloaded episode from the past season. I know it resonated with a lot of you. I found a funny quote the other day. It says… “Dating after 30 is easy. It's like riding a bike. Only the bike is on fire. And the ground is on fire. Everything is on fire. Because you are in hell.” Okay. Now imagine dating after 50! On this week's show, I interview actress, voice artist and my good pal, Mari Weiss. Mari was on the podcast nearly two years ago in an episode called How Being Tied Up Released Me. She shared an amazing story about dating a guy who slowly-yet-firmly led her into the world of BDSM. Her first surprise was how willing she was to obey him. Her second surprise was how much she enjoyed it. Before and since then, Mari, like many other single folks, has gone on more than her share of dates. But unlike the days when you're 25 and sprucing yourself up to no end in order to meet some grown man in a baseball cap, when you're 50+ you have a lot more perspective on life. You're also probably not so interested in putting up with anyone's bullshit. We talk about what causes women, particularly, to constantly set our own feelings aside and put up with people who are clearly unkind and/or unworthy of us. And why it's a radical idea to enjoy being single and child free. Which, according to science, is actually the healthiest option out there for women. I also touch on losing my best friend and how I traveled to Chicago to scatter her ashes in a sacred temple I will not be naming. Let's just say, all of its followers are true blue. On this episode I speak with Dave Noll, a wildly successful TV producer who has created, pitched and sold some of the most iconic TV shows in history, including the Food Network mega-hit franchise, Chopped. But Dave's path to the chopping block was loaded with booby traps, ridiculous detours, and, at one point, an angry butler and a dog. I'm telling you right now, it's a miracle any TV shows get made. In this really fun conversation, Dave shares his rocky road to the top of the TV heap and how every rejection is actually a positive thing. OKAY, MY KID IS GAY -- RAINBOW REPEAT!

Earlier this week, an active player in the NFL made huge news. Carl Nassib, a defensive end for the Las Vegas Raiders came out as gay. As of this writing, he is the only openly gay active NFL player. Hopefully, he won't be alone for long. “Carl Nassib's powerful coming out is a historic reflection of the growing state of LGBTQ visibility and inclusion in the world of professional sports, which has been driven by a long list of brave LGBTQ athletes who came before him,” said GLAAD President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis. “As an accomplished athlete who is now the first out gay active player in the NFL, Carl Nassib's story will not only have a profound impact on the future of LGBTQ visibility and acceptance in sports, but sends a strong message to so many LGBTQ people, especially youth, that they too can one day grow up to be and succeed as a professional athlete like him.” Representation matters. But for every massive step forward, there remain hundreds of steps backwards. According the Human Rights Campaign, “2021 has officially surpassed 2015 as the worst year for anti-LGBTQ legislation in recent history.” The HRC reports that more than 250 anti-LGBTQ bills have been introduced in state legislatures in 2021, including at least 35 bills that would prohibit transgender youth from being able to access age-appropriate, gender-affirming medical care. So when a badass defensive end for the Raiders, of all teams, comes out as gay and then makes a $100,000 donation to The Trevor Project, make no mistake, it's a big fucking deal. Okay, but what does this have to do with my life? Well… Let's imagine you're sitting down with your 10 year-old for a dinner of mac and cheese, chicken nuggets and grapes. All on separate plates, of course. On the table there's a box of spilled apple juice, a few Snoopy stickers and several dried out markers. Soccer gear is strewn on the floor alongside a few of this morning's Cheerios and a naked Barbie missing half of her hair. It's just another day. Until your kid turns to you and says, “Mom, I think I'm a lesbian.” How would you react in that moment? For many parents this is a moment they never saw coming, but it got there. Fast. What should you say? What shouldn't you say? Were you completely surprised? Have you always known but never really accepted it? How do you hear this and let your child know that they're safe and loved and what they're feeling is perfectly okay? It's a situation that millions of parents have faced. And thanks to increasing positive role models and representation, the average age of children coming out has dropped from their early 20s to anywhere between 14 and 16. Parents shouldn't just assume their children are straight until proven otherwise. Even if your kid has a different identity in two years or two months, it's important to support how they feel today. But where do you start? On this episode, a repeat of one of my most downloaded episodes, I speak with Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Childhood Mental Health Specialist, Melody Parks https://www.parkstherapy.com/. She reveals the struggles that children of all backgrounds must navigate and gives parents tools to help their children know that they're loved, supported and safe regardless of sexual orientation. I also speak with a friend whose 13 year-old daughter decided to come out during a family vacation. Blindsided, the mother responded in the best way she could. How you respond to your child's coming out can be what keeps your kid alive. I've also found several very helpful resources for parents of LGBT kids: https://www.stonewall.org.uk/help-advice/coming-out/coming-out-advice-and-guidance-parents https://pflag.org/sites/default/files/OUR%20CHILDREN_PFLAGNational_FINAL.pdf https://www.healthychildren.org/English/ages-stages/teen/dating-sex/Pages/Four-Stages-of-Coming-Out.aspx https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/tips-for-parents-of-lgbtq-youth https://nccc.georgetown.edu/documents/LGBT_Brief.pdf https://www.insider.com/what-to-do-when-someone-comes-out-2017-12 I also recommend the book: This is a Book for Parents of Gay Kids: A Question & Answer Guide to Everyday Life Being gay is not a crime and it's not a sin. Some people believe that having an LGBTQ child means they somehow failed as a parent. Disowning your child means you failed as a parent. I think most experts will agree that the best thing you can say to your child when they come out is: I Love You. That is the perfect place to start.

There are lots of men. Straight men who are often married with children. Navy SEALs, football players, construction workers, lawyers, doctors, mechanics, factory workers — you name it. Just regular guys…who happen to prefer to have sex with other guys. Are they gay? Not if you ask them. Sexual identity is complex. On this show I speak with The Straight Guy Whisperer, a gay man whose sexual partners are almost exclusively straight, married men. We talk about why these men reach out to him, what they're really looking for, and the surprising reasons a gay man can be the safest partner for a straight guy. The Straight Guy Whisperer might sound familiar to my regular listeners. He's the expert in my SECOND MOST POPULAR EPISODE OF ALL TIME: Expert BlowJob Tips From A Gay Man. This guy knows his way around another man and the fact that he almost exclusively hooks up with straight guys should tell you that he understands their pleasure on a level many women do not. At least not yet, anyway. Are these straight guys really closet homosexuals or bisexual? Can you exclusively have sex with someone of the same sex but still be 100% straight? A lot of that has to do with how you personally identify and what that really means. After all, at its core, your sexual identity is a label that you use to help others categorize you. As Toni Morrison famously said, “Definitions belong to the definers, not the defined.” Regardless, we can all get caught up in labels and panic and fear when it comes to sexual identity. Even though, when it all comes down to it…Pleasure is Pleasure. Happiness is Happiness. And Love is Love. Regardless of how you identify, there's going to be something very enlightening for you in this conversation. THE SWINGING SINGLE GIRL

Imagine one day you’re heartbroken, alone, and then to make matters worse, totally rejected by some random stranger in a seedy basement sex shop in New York. But within a few years, you are transformed into the most desirable woman in the room. This amazing metamorphosis really happened, and you’re about to find out how. On this week’s podcast, I speak to the Swinging Single Girl. We follow her story as she transforms from a brokenhearted reject into the most coveted person in a room full of sexy people. This is exactly the kind of evolution that can happen when you believe in yourself, embrace a life of adventure, and are completely open to the world's most interesting possibilities. You’ll learn what it’s like to completely reinvent yourself in the swinging lifestyle, important lessons about setting boundaries both sexual and personal, and understanding the difference between love and just random sex with your friends…things we can all benefit from mastering. Whether or not you’re interested in becoming part of this lifestyle, it doesn’t matter. Having spent five seasons on the set of the hit reality show Swing on Playboy TV, working alongside and then befriending many people in the lifestyle, I learned incredible lessons about my own closed-mindedness, why I was so defiantly boring, and that BBC doesn’t always stand for the British Broadcasting Corporation. You’ll have to trust me on that one. One of many topless women to have hugged me while I was at work, The Swinging Single Girl is incredibly honest, communicative, and self-aware — one of the many benefits of being in consensually non-monogamous relationships. Even if you can’t identify with her journey and life choices, there’s an awful lot anyone can learn here. SECRETS OF AN OPEN MARRIAGE

Would you ever consider having an open marriage? In the Colonial Era, marriage was largely about property and procreation. Of course, back then the average life expectancy was about 36 years old. Which means, “till death do us part” wasn’t really that long of a commitment. The modern idea of marriage as being about romance, companionship and registering for new dishes at Macy’s, didn’t emerge until the last couple of centuries. As society’s goals and structure changed over time, its rules and expectations of marriage evolved along with them. Now, marriage seems to be at a brand new crossroads. A recent study revealed that remarkable transformations in relationships have occurred over the past several decades. 20% of adults have engaged in some form of consensual non-monogamy and the public’s interest in polyamory is clearly on the rise. Despite the allure of sex with numerous groovy partners with no retribution, creating a successful, ethically non-monogamous relationship has an extremely high degree of difficulty. But, if you consider that 45% of all marriages fail anyway, maybe it’s worth the risk? On this episode, I speak with The Sex Guru℠, Dr. Stephanie Hunter Jones. A clinical sexologist, and nationally recognized sex and relationship expert who’s been featured in Playboy, People and Time, she answers such questions as: How to know if you’re stable enough to open up your relationship. The best time to open up a relationship. How to start the conversation safely and ethically. How adding a new play partner can completely reinvigorate a stale relationship. Even if an open relationship isn’t for you, there’s a lot you can learn from Dr. Jones about the advanced levels of communication, honesty and understanding required to have a successful open relationship…and, actually, a traditional relationship as well. ROCKING YOUR RACK WITH JENETTE BRAS

In the early scenes of the Hitchcock masterpiece, Psycho, we see star Janet Leigh in a white bra and slip. These images were even featured on movie posters, which was quite scandalous for 1960. However, later in the film, after Marion has unmarried sex, steals thousands of dollars and becomes a fugitive, Hitchcock presents her in a black bra to illustrate she’s now a good girl turned bad. Nothing can tell a woman’s story quite like her underwear. For ages and ages, women’s lingerie has been a subject of great fascination and fetishization. From vintage Sears catalogs to an entire pageant featuring stately models clad in lingerie and angel wings (???), some folks simply can’t get enough of ladies in their unmentionables. For many women, however, bras can also be a subject of great annoyance, shame, and abject disappointment. ESPECIALLY if you’re a “full figured girl” as movie bombshell Jane Russell used to say in Playtex bra commercials from the 70s and 80s. Finding foundations that fit can be challenging for more voluptuous bodies and though, to some it may seem like a high class problem, I assure you it’s much more of a high class pain in the ass. Enter Jenette Bras. As they say on their website… "Most women blessed with a figure like ours are wearing the wrong size bra. Chances are that right now half of your boob is bulging out somewhere or other. I call it Mall Bra Syndrome. It’s a low inventory, low wage, low skill business model that just about works for gals up to a C-cup, if they’re not too picky. If you need a bigger cup you’re likely to be offered a bigger band instead. Seriously? Instead of fitting bras to our bodies, they expect our bodies to fit their limited selection of bras. Well, I come from a long line of women who are big on bosom and short on patience. So, enough already." Jenette Goldstein, a working actress who appeared in numerous blockbuster films and hit TV shows, decided to do something about the difficulties of finding a perfectly-fitted bra for the “full figured gal.” So she opened Jenette Bras, where their slogan is, “The alphabet starts at D.” Since I totally qualify and was in dire need for some new foundations thanks to a 50 pound weight loss, I headed over to their brand new Burbank, CA store where, and I am not kidding, my life changed. How did my life change at a bra shop? Great question, thanks for asking. As you’re about to hear in this episode, it was thanks to a simple photo, snapped at my request, by highly trained bra fitter. For the first time in my life, I finally saw what my body really looked like. And I liked it. In this interview we cover… How Jenette convinced director James Cameron to shoot her and her plentiful rack in a very specific way How bra sizes are completely arbitrary, meaningless and stupid The importance of being professionally fitted for a bra Why spending more for a handmade bra makes a lot of sense When it’s actually okay to get a cheap bra The surprising physical trait shared by Black women and Jewish women I also get very real about my own personal struggles with body issues and trauma. This episode is about a lot more than tits, but, we all know that’s always a great place to start. Sex Ed The Musical is available on iTunes, Stitcher, Podtail, IHeartRadio, Podbay, Spotify and more. On this episode, I interview Mindset Mastery coach, Stephanie Kwong. Known as a secret weapon who helps people get to their next level, Stephanie uses her unique training to help her clients break through old patterns and rewire their subconscious in order to make extraordinary shifts in their lives. “Our next comic is a comedienne, so please be nice…” You may have heard on the previous podcast that last week was a particularly crappy week for me. I needed some serious cheering up. So, I called in the big guns and reached out to one of the funniest people I know. As one of the country's top comedians, Cathy Ladman is a fearless, anxiety-venting performer who draws huge laughs from such taboo subjects as her battle with anorexia to the endless indignities of menopause. At the top of the comedy world for nearly 40 years, Cathy appeared nine times on The Tonight Show. Johnny Carson was such a fan that she was the only female comic to appear on the last two of Johnny’s Tonight Show Anniversary specials. She’s made numerous appearances on The Late Late Show, had her own HBO One Night Stand comedy special, and was awarded the American Comedy Award for Best Female Stand Up Comic. A successful comedy writer for television, she’s also a versatile actor who has appeared in such acclaimed shows as Mad Men, Curb Your Enthusiasm, How To Get Away With Murder, Pretty Little Liars, and Modern Family to name a few. Cathy and I have a lot of fun talking about her early days in clubs, which comedy legends were big part of her nightly childhood bedtime routine, and then I give her some insider tips for turning her recent cancer treatment into a wealth of comedy material. I’m helpful that way. You can see Cathy Ladman live April 23 and 24 at the Alameda Comedy Club in Alameda, California. SEXUAL ASTROLOGY -- IS THE PERFECT PARTNER IN YOUR STARS?

Astrology has been around in various forms for thousands of years. Some people call it a pseudoscience, while many highly successful people base all of their major decisions on the stars. Where you stand on the subject is your business. I’m not an expert in astrology by a long shot, but I can’t help but notice that there are very similar traits shared by friends who were born under the same signs. Eerily similar sometimes. Plus, I’ve had plenty of vivid psychic premonitions come true and multiple otherworldly experiences so I’m much more open-minded about the metaphysical world than others. For my last birthday I decided to treat myself to a astrological reading. I asked around for some referrals and my friend Damona Hoffman, host of the podcast Dates & Mates recommended an astrologer she’s had on her show, Danny Santos. Then I discovered that Danny specializes in sex/love/relationship/intimacy astrological compatibility! SO I HAD TO HAVE HIM ON THIS PODCAST!!! From the age of 11 years old, Danny Santos has shown an active interest in studying Astrology and Tarot. With Spanish and Cuban roots, both sides of his family have always been deeply connected to spirituality. Danny’s great grandmother was a tarot reader in her local village in Spain [and Danny still has the deck she read with to this day]. Through the guidance of other practitioners, Danny has spent nearly two decades furthering his education in astrology and tarot. In his practice, Danny specializes in readings for couples, and will delve into their romantic compatibility using astrology, numerology and tarot. Danny’s readings give partners a unique glimpse into their romantic and sexual futures to see if their sexual stars are aligned. You’re in the throes of passion. Looking to add a whole new level to your pleasure, you want your favorite sex toy. Maybe there are kids in the house so you keep it stashed away behind those pants you’ll never fit into on the top shelf of your closet. Your partner goes hunting for it, they’re taking a long time, with every second you’re losing your mojo. They can’t find it. They’re yelling for you from the closet. Where is it?!?! You’re getting angry. GAHHHHH! Orrrrrr, you think you’re slick and you keep your favorite vibrator in your nightstand drawer. Annnnnnd, you’re probably not washing it after every use but who cares, it’s just you using it and it’s totally fine in there, right? Uh, no. That drawer is filled with used hair ties, old Starbucks cards, throat lozenges, a backstage pass from a Duran Duran concert and a thick layer of dust, germs, and crust. THIS IS NOT CUTE and you are asking for all sorts of trouble if you’re not storing your pleasure products correctly. But how??? On this episode, I interview Deborah Semer, the founder of Joyboxx, the world’s only hygienic sex toy storage system. Guess what, it’s not easy starting a sex product company — especially when the product is also designed to protect your health, well-being and privacy. That’s a lot for one thing to do. How did this journey take Deborah from an altruistic career in the non-profit world to sprawling sex toy factories in China? Why is this product unlike anything that’s ever been to market before? And why is a dusty shoe box from under some dude’s bed part of her origin story? You’re about to find out. If you’re interested in innovative pleasure products, best practices for storing for your sex toys, how to ward off nasty germs in the time of COVID or badass women who take big risks in starting their own companies, this episode is for you! Plus, as the first sponsor of the show, Joyboxx is offering you a special 20% discount on your order. Order here and use the discount code SEXED20 for a 20% discount. Joyboxx is a game changer and I really believe in it. Trust me, I hate everything. For more information, you can check out the Joyboxx YouTube channel where you can find a clip of me first discovering the product at Sexual Health Expo six years ago. It’s a vajical moment in every girl’s life: the day she becomes a woman. It’s just like a Hallmark Movie — if Hallmark movies were about blood clots, crippling cramps and rage-filled late night searches for chocolate. Each of us experiences this transition to womanhood in our own special way, and it’s a day of your life you will never forget…no matter how hard you try. On this episode four very funny and brave women share their hilarious first period stories.   SUWON WEAVER First up, is the hilarious writer/comedian Suwon Weaver @suwonweaver whose mother, despite being an actual female mother person herself, completely unravels when her daughter gets her period.     L.J. NOEL The very funny L.J. Noel gets her first period in the most dramatic way possible, and unfortunately she’s rewarded with a large standing ovation.   THEA TOUCHTON Actress Thea Touchton @theatouchton joins the sisterhood of the stained underpants in the company of her grandmother who, caught somewhat off guard, outfits her with one of her diapers.   Finally, award-winning TV director and host of the podcast Mojo Girl Madness, Katy Garretson @katygarretson joins the prison of womanhood in an actual prison.   Here’s a photo of skin tight Dittos just to show you exactly how difficult it would be to hide a massive sanitary napkin in these groovy jeans.   I mentioned the amazing first period videos produced by the folks at HelloFlo, including The Period Fairy, First Moon Party and my daughter’s favorite, Camp Gyno. These videos are amazing and really changed how we talk and laugh about first periods. Thank you HelloFlo for being so fearless and funny and completely changing the way we talk about first periods. DATING OVER 50

I found a funny quote the other day. It says… "Dating after 30 is easy. It’s like riding a bike. Only the bike is on fire. And the ground is on fire. Everything is on fire. Because you are in hell." Okay. Now imagine dating after 50! On this week’s show, I interview actress, voice artist and my good pal, Mari Weiss. Mari was on the podcast nearly two years ago in an episode called How Being Tied Up Released Me. She shared an amazing story about dating a guy who slowly-yet-firmly led her into the world of BDSM. Her first surprise was how willing she was to follow him. Her second surprise was how much she enjoyed it. Before and since then, Mari, like many other single folks, has gone on more than her share of dates. But unlike the days when you’re 25 and sprucing yourself up to no end in order to meet some grown man in a baseball cap, when you’re 50+ you have a lot more perspective on life. You’re also probably not so inclined to put up with anyone’s bullshit. We talk about what causes women, particularly, to constantly set our own feelings aside and put up with people who are clearly unkind and/or unworthy of us. And why it’s a radical idea to enjoy being single and child free. Which, according to science, is actually the healthiest option out there for women. I also touch on my personal quest for happiness and the lessons I learned by pursuing all sorts of big things that I thought would bring me happiness. Turns out, I was missing the point entirely. Grindr. Launched in 2009, it’s been called “the world’s biggest, scariest, gay bar” by Vanity Fair. And they ought to know. A location-based social networking and dating app used in almost every corner of the planet, Grindr reportedly has over 20 million members with over 3 million men using the app everyday — especially closeted Republicans who like to unwind with rent boys after an exhausting day of legislating against gay rights. See ya soon, Lindsey! After you download Grindr, you enter what you’re looking for on your personal profile, what you can offer to other lucky people, and then you get all sorts of matches. Plus it tells you how close they are. Hot daddy with smelly feet 30 yards away! Hooking up with randos was never so easy! If you’re still not clear, here’s how it all works, courtesy of Conan O’Brien and Billy Eichner. On this episode, I speak to my favorite new musical genius Adam Shenk, who after receiving tons of ridiculous pick up lines on Grindr, decided to set the worst of the worst to music. He created an Instagram page called @popgrindr and the rest is history. His jingles are quite beautiful and Adam is clearly very talented. Thousands of followers agree. When he’s not creating beautiful jingles out of load-blowing requests, Adam is a mainstream singer/songwriter who is legit talented. Here’s his youtube channel. Hire him to play at your event, while you can still afford him. I ask Adam what his rules are for jinglefying a pick up line, he plays some of his favorite songs and then I ask him to create a very special jingle on the spot, just for me. It’s quite lovely, you won’t want to miss it. Also, if you’re ever in Southeastern New Jersey and looking to have anonymous sex, consider The Swan Motel in Linden. As heard on @popgrindr, the Swan Motel is on Route 1. Walking distance to Home Depot AND Applebees! Sometimes, a lady just wants some company. As the poet laureate of our generation, Cardi B recently propounded, “I want you to park that big Mack truck, right in this little garage.” Who can argue with that? Unforch, quite a few garages are situated right in the middle of a global pandemic and locating an acceptable Mack truck and then making space for it in your garage can be a bit…challenging? On this episode, stand up comedian, writer and actress Danette Rodriguez shares a story about being a single girl looking for some D in NY, K? The struggle is definitely real. But there’s a big lesson in Danette's story about setting boundaries, being a good communicator, and figuring out who deserves a spot on your booty call list and who is a garbage person. Can someone be both? Neither? These are things a girl needs to navigate in these uncertain times. As I say in the worst Carrie Bradshaw impersonation ever, “Can you have your cock and eat it, too?” Well, we’re about to find out. Because, there is nothing wrong with wanting some supplemental company, but in this COVID era, there are many more precautions required than the usual safe sex. And sometimes, your hormones will fuck with you when you just wanna fuck. So check out this story of Dating in the Age of COVID, with my guest, the very funny Danette Rodriguez. Okay, maybe that particular story hasn't happened to you, but it's definitely happened to someone. On Disaster Dates 2, every single story takes a turn for the ‘What the fuck?!?’ Leading off is the hilarious Gia Mora. When her date says he’s taking her to an Earth Wind & Fire concert, Gia is beyond thrilled. Unfortunately, every thought is a dream, rushing by in a stream, bringing life to the kingdom of sanctimonious assholes. Also, you might not want to date a dude if his car is known for killing people. #JustSayin   Next up, the brilliant Lisa Laureta takes us along on a couple of dates that seem bad, but after further review, are actually horrific. Let’s just say, the neck tattoo should have been all the warning she needed.   Then, bringing us home with the shittiest story on this show (you’ll get that in a moment) is the fearlessly funny Cristi Rumpza. The year 2020 has been a total nightmare. A Year of Lies and Loss. 365 Days of Suck. A Crap-A-Palooza. Or, as one friend put it, 2020 has been A Great Steaming Shit-Fuck. Yes, in a year that seemed to be written by Stephen King, we’ve faced a global pandemic and endless idiots violently denying said pandemic. Millions of acres of Australia and California erupted in flames. The leader of the free world suggested we drink bleach as a health treatment. We had a stock market crash, riots erupted, millions of quarantined people lost their jobs, their homes, and their health insurance. Entire industries collapsed. Rudy Giuliani’s sideburns leaked on national TV. The My Pillow guy was somehow elevated to dictating national policy. The people in charge of protecting us from COVID, caught COVID. Crazy conspiracy theories became normalized by the criminal in chief, and, as of this writing, over 265,000 Americans have lost their lives from a virus that some still claim is a liberal hoax and/or no big deal at all. What in the actual fuck is happening?!?! After horror upon horror was hoisted upon us this year, I, like many others, seemed to believe that this was just how it’s going to be. I became addicted to drama and pain. I was compulsively reading the news and going into an emotional tailspin with each new, daily horror. 2020 became The New Abnormal. But according to the stars, this era of patriarchal rage and elitism is on its last dying breath. On December 21st, the Winter Solstice, our universe is going to make a massive shift. Toward all the good we can handle. Discussing the dawn of this amazing new era with me is world renowned intuitive guide, spiritual teacher and bestselling author, Sonia Choquette. We’re going to speak in great detail of The Great Conjunction, which many astrologers are calling one of the biggest astrological events of our lifetime. Light beings believe the world is about to change profoundly. On December 21, a rare alignment between Jupiter and Saturn, is set to shake things up politically, socially, and affect your personal life as well. THIS IS A NEW ERA WHERE YOU CAN CREATE HUGE POSITIVE CHANGES IN YOUR LIFE The only question you should be asking is, How Good Can I Stand It? This is a rare moment in our lifetimes, a pivot away from the ego, toxic masculinity, top down power, age of rage. According to Sonia, we are stepping into a new era of happiness, pleasure and enlightenment. We talk about what you need to do in order to open yourself up to receiving this incredible bounty coming our way, and what you need to do to create unlimited abundance of happiness. Hint: Enjoy it. Now, you may not believe in astrology. You may not believe in Divine Spirit, your guides or the vibrations of energy around you. And that’s totally fine. You do you. But regardless of anyone's believe, I think that we, as a civilization, need a serious reboot. We all need hope. And whatever you believe or don’t believe, the fact is, it’s time for the world to change for the better. I want to do whatever I can to be a part of that change. It’s a radical concept, but I want to experience all of the happiness, pleasure, and love that I can stand. And I can stand a lot. THE INTIMACY COORDINATOR

In the not too distant past, actresses on television or film sets were asked to appear nude or to be in graphic sex scenes that made them feel uncomfortable, and they could either agree, or get fired. Women weren’t the only performers who were coerced, just a horrifically vast majority. As Kristen Lopez writes for RogerEbert.com in a 2018 piece called A Matter of Legitimacy: Female Nudity On-Screen: “…Hollywood marketing and audience interest still encourages the consumption of female bodies, in spite of increased awareness of the male gaze and the continued statistics charting the lack of male nudity on-screen. Actresses today feel the need to “explain” their reasons behind deciding to be nude or not, damned if they do or if they don’t, all in an aid to justify the audiences’ comfort lusting after female flesh and perpetuating the continued double standards regarding male and female nudity in film.” For many marginalized performers, the systemic power imbalance made it impossible for them to advocate for themselves if they wanted to keep working. But now, in the wake of #MeToo and high-profile takedowns of Hollywood power brokers who’ve enjoyed years of predatory behavior that was hushed up by colleagues, there’s a new era. The era of The Intimacy Coordinator. On this episode, I interview Jean Franzblau, a professional, highly trained Intimacy Coordinator, and a member of the Intimacy Professionals Association, who is working on sets to make sure that performers are not coerced into doing sex scenes, and that all graphic depictions on camera are choreographed and negotiated in advance. If a performer has an issue, the Intimacy Coordinator presents it to the director and producers and advocates on the behalf of talent. Not everyone is working with Intimacy Coordinators, and it’s not as if studios and networks that are employing them, have had a sudden awakening. People have turned a blind eye to predatory behavior for as long as there’s been a Hollywood. It's just that now corporations realize that, just like COVID safety protocols, making sure a set is safe for its performers is a legitimate OSHA concern, not to mention that unchecked egregious behavior will expose them to potential litigation and public relations nightmares. No one wants or can afford that today. As a safety measure for all parties involved, many studios and networks now employ Intimacy Coordinators. We’re going to find out exactly what an Intimacy Coordinator does, how they advocate for talent, and assist writers and directors in the technicalities of certain sexual situations. We’ll also find out why they can write off yoga mats. It’s all in this interview. Also!!!! Huge News!!! We (barely) survived the dumpster fire that was 2020. Little did I know that all of those amazing toys originated from one company located in a highly secretive bunker just a few miles south of my suburban Chicago home. Marvin Glass, the founder of Marvin Glass & Associates, was one of the most prolific and brilliant toy inventors of the 20th century. His company’s product list is my childhood. One of the most beloved and collectible board games of all time, also created by Marvin Glass & Associates, was a game called Mystery Date. Here’s the commercial from 1965. One of the most sought-after games of the 1960s, if you were a little girl back then, this game was EV-ER-Y-THING. Marketed to girls 6-14 years old, the game was a runaway hit. The best part of every slumber party and girlie playdate, the Mystery Date commercial jingle became part of the vernacular. To this day, most women in their 50s can probably sing it word for word. Yeah, so like every other little girl, I was OBSESSED with this game. In a way, it made me feel grown up and a little naughty to be playing a game about dating. But… Now a million years later, in a completely different world. I find it to be a little more problematic. I have a biracial, 14 year-old daughter and looking back on my beloved childhood board game, I kinda have some issues. Like real issues. On this episode, I chat with three good friends about Mystery Date. Frances Callier, a comedian and regular pundit on the Sexy Liberal Show. My dyed-in-the-wool New Yorker friend, TV writer and producer, Francesca Rollins, whose connection to the game is as New York as can be. Plus my friend and lifetime Mystery Date superfan, Mike Mannarino, an executive with a major Silicon Valley tech firm. Through today’s lens and current political climate, this game looks a lot different to all of us. And the subtext is, in a word, icky. I’d like to say a special thank you to rights and clearances consultant Amy Goodfriend and to the wonderful folks at Hasbro for allowing me to use their awesome jingle in the show. Also, I’m not gonna lie, I wish I still had the original version of the game. With the right framing, I actually think it could still be a lot of fun.   Sex Ed The Musical is available on iTunes, Stitcher, Podtail, IHeartRadio, Podbay, Spotify and more. CONQUERING YOUR SEXUAL FEARS

Fear is a natural, powerful human emotion. It alerts us to the presence of danger, or the threat of harm whether real or imaginary. A little fear is fine, it prevents you from doing stupid things. However, when it prevents you from experiencing things that can enhance your life and make you a happier and more authentic person, you really need to examine it. And then kick its ass. After conquering one of my biggest fears, I was inspired to share this story with you. Because, what seems like a pretty innocuous night in my back yard is actually a stepping stone to enormous change, pride and possibility. Like everyone else, I’ve dealt with fear in my life. I’ve given away my power. I’ve worried about what people would think of me to the point where I was afraid to share my own story. I’ve been afraid that I might be judged, ostracized or mocked for doing what I’ve always wanted to do. But I did it anyway. And you know what? My entire world did not fall apart. In fact, it got better. Because it doesn’t matter what people think about you — that’s none of your business. Period. And you absolutely cannot live your life in fear of what everyone else thinks. Are total strangers or people you barely care about the ones who get to set the direction of your life? I was afraid to write my memoir because I didn’t want to be judged by this super catty mom at my kid’s school. For years, I actually let one bitter and horrible person derail my life’s work. It finally dawned on me that her opinion of me doesn’t matter. My parents’ opinion of me doesn’t matter. Anyone’s opinion of me doesn’t matter. Only my opinion of me matters. There’s a very good chance you are not living your authentic life and pursuing sexual adventure because you are afraid of being judged. Hospice worker Bronnie Ware, author of the book, The Top Five Regrets Of The Dying: A Life Transformed By The Dearly Departing catalogued the most common regrets expressed by people on their death beds. 5. I wish that I had let myself be happier. 4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends. 3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings. 2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard. 1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me. BOOM. What is preventing you from enjoying a life true to yourself? Why are you allowing fear and people who truly mean nothing to stop you? How can you get past this fear and start living the sex life of your dreams? In this episode, I share a story of my own fear and how even though I thought I was a boss at eliminating fear, it turns out I wasn’t. However, one night spent sleeping in my back yard changed everything for me. Hopefully, this episode will inspire you to face your fears…and then conquer them like a motherfucking BOSS! In fact, I’d love to hear some of the fears you face and then conquer. Please email them to me at info@sexedthemusical.com. Or just say hi! "The biggest critics of my books are people who never read them." --Jackie Collins It brings in over a billion dollars in sales every year. It’s devoured by dedicated customers who can never get enough. It’s a global phenomenon with fans across every demographic. Yet, erotic literature gets very little respect. Henry Miller. Anaïs Nin. D.H. Lawrence. Vladimir Nabokov. John Updike. Erica Jong. All literary giants while also experts at writing about some really hot sex. Erotic fiction has highbrow roots but a very lowbrow reputation. However, when Fifty Shades of Grey sold over 125 million copies worldwide and self publishing gave anyone with a computer the opportunity to upload their work for sale on Amazon’s Kindle store, the entire game changed. Suddenly women who loved reading erotic fiction saw an opportunity. Readers became writers. For some, success came practically overnight. For others, the pressures of taking each story to another extreme became unsustainable. In this episode, I interview filmmaker and author Austen Rachlis, the producer/director of the documentary Naughty Books. "Naughty Books follows three writers: Kelli Maine, Kristen Proby, and CJ Roberts, as they navigate what unexpected success means for their lives, both professionally and personally. On the surface, this movie is about self-published romance novels, but at its core, it’s about women challenging the status quo and stepping forward to tell the world they aren’t ashamed of their sexuality. In a world where #MeToo dominates the headlines and predatory behavior is pervasive, Naughty Books celebrates women reclaiming their sexuality on their own terms." Look, we live in crazy times. During the pandemic, sex toy sales have increased 200%. Erotic fiction sales have also increased. What does this tell you? Women need relief. An escape. We need Me Time. So, crawl in bed. Light your favorite pumpkin spice candles. Get under your weighted blanket and discover the amazing story behind your favorite Naughty Books. TOP TEN SEX MYTHS BUSTED!

Did you know you can lose weight by having sex? What?!? That’s amazing! Two things I love, boning and toning. That has to be true, right? Welllllll…according to the Dr. Felix Sex Workout Calculator, a woman who weighs 140 pounds and has sex in the missionary position FOR AN HOUR, will burn 84.6 calories. To lose one pound of weight, you need to burn 3500 calories. So if a woman wanted to lose one pound of weight, she would need to have continuous missionary position sex for 41 hours. 41 straight hours of boning to lose one pound. I don’t know about you but my vulva would probably break after 41 minutes, forget 41 hours. But we’ve all been told SEX IS A GREAT WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT. Unfortunately that is not exactly true. For years magazines and “news” headlines have fed us non-stop misinformation about sex, and reproduction. And we bought it all. Shoe size dictates dick size. Oysters make you horny. Women don’t like sex. Well, actually heterosexual women are the least sexually satisfied group, but we’re going to save the Orgasm Gap for another day. This week I’m busting the biggest myths out there when it comes to sex. Enough is enough! How are some of these ingrained myths directly tied to patriarchal programming? Who actually believes that semen prevents tooth decay? And what’s the name for people who use the pull out method? After listening to this episode, you’ll have plenty to talk about at your next Zoom dinner party. The bottom line is, when it comes to sex, you shouldn’t always believe what you’ve been told. Especially if it’s some dude bragging about the size of his junk. Cause you’re about to find out, that, my friends, is never a good sign. ARE YOU ASEXUAL -- WITH DR. SHANNON CHAVEZ

There’s a lot of misunderstanding about asexuality. Some believe if they’ve suddenly lost interest in sex, they’re asexual. Some believe that people “become” asexual as a result of sexual trauma. Some believe that asexual people just haven’t met the right person yet. Nope. Nope, and Nope. There’s a lot about asexuality that many people simply don’t understand. Looking for answers, I went to one of my very favorite sources of information in the world of sex and sexuality, renown psychologist and sex therapist, Dr. Shannon Chavez. Dr. Chavez explains that asexuality is not a condition, it’s a sexual orientation, similar to homosexuality, bisexuality or heterosexuality. It’s not something that requires medical attention. It’s not celibacy. It’s not a sudden drop in libido, and it’s not a choice. In this conversation, I realize there’s a lot we all have to learn about asexuality. Asexual people can have happy relationships. They can fall in love. They can have typical sexual responses. Are you wondering if you might be asexual? We’re about to shed a lot of light on asexuality and hopefully increase your knowledge on this frequently misunderstood sexual orientation. If you’re interested in speaking to a nationally recognized expert, therapist, and educator specializing in “all things sexuality” including help for men, women, LGBTQIA, and couples, you can contact Dr. Shannon Chavez here. For more information on asexuality, Dr. Chavez recommends: The Asexuality Visibility and Education Network And the book, The Invisible Orientation: An Introduction to Asexuality FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON ASEXUALITY http://www.whatisasexuality.com/ https://www.glaad.org/amp/ace-guide-finding-your-community https://www.stonewall.org.uk/about-us/news/six-ways-be-ally-asexual-people Now, I wouldn’t base a research paper on this, but here’s an entertaining list of notable supposedly asexual individuals throughout history. THE SEXUAL PSYCHIC

A couple of years ago I was at a big national event for podcasters, journalists and writers in the world of sex. There were a lot of amazing speakers there but one woman was the talk of the entire show. She’s known as The Sexual Psychic and I had never met anyone like her before. She has this inexplicable way of seeing into everybody’s sexual future. After her speech, people were lined up for hours just to meet her. It was incredible. After two years of hand-written letters, because she refuses to speak on the phone or use email, I finally got her to agree to be on my podcast. She’s based outside of Santa Fe and claims that technology interferes with her gifts so she shuns all of it. She’s never done any podcasts or recorded interviews before, just a handful of live speaking engagements under her very specific terms. It takes up to three years just to get on the waiting list for a reading with her. So it’s truly amazing and an honor to have her on this show. I traveled to New Mexico to meet her and she had to have all of my recording equipment “cleared” by a Shaman before I could turn anything on. She demanded that I only use brand new Energizer batteries, nothing is allowed to be plugged in at her off-grid compound. Before traveling to see her, I asked listeners to send in their questions. She answers all of them during this interview. Seriously, I’ve worked with lots of A-list celebrities and high-powered executives in my career so it’s rare for me to be completely intimidated by someone but, well, this woman has a deeply powerful energy like no one I’ve encountered before. However you feel about psychics, visionaries, light workers and oracles is your choice, obviously. I just want you to have an open mind when you listen to this because, this woman is really something special. Please SUBSCRIBE to Sex Ed The Musical HERE and leave a 5-Star Review! TEN STEPS TO THE SEXIEST BEDROOM EVER!

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 10, 2020 16:30

Is your Master Bedroom a Sexy Romantic Oasis? Or Fifty Shades of No Way? People dream about remodeling their kitchens, bathrooms and creating fantasy backyards. But, what about the one room in the house where you spend more time than anywhere else? The room that’s supposed to be your private sanctuary. The room where your most important intimate time is spent. You know, the room that’s probably overloaded with mismatched bedding, unfolded laundry, pictures of your family, stuffed animals, unfinished projects, stacks of books and a dresser covered in ATM receipts. YUCK! Here’s a sad but true fact: If your master bedroom has lost its mojo, there’s a good chance your relationship is next. But do not despair, because I am obsessed with two things - Interior Design and Better Sex. For anyone looking to next level the naughty, I have put together this relationship-saving list of TEN STEPS TO THE SEXIEST BEDROOM EVER! This isn’t Extreme Makeover: Perv Edition. This is a very simple and doable list of relatively easy changes you can make to your bedroom so instead of a Crappy Catch-All it’s your PRIVATE SEXY OASIS. You can do this!!!! I promise you don’t have to be a master of power tools or some high-end designer. Just about anyone can tackle this list. You can even do it with your boo and put in some sweat equity before sweating on top of each other later. You deserve the sexy oasis of your dreams! These ten simple steps that will add some serious FUCK SHUI™ to your bedroom. Let’s get it on! STEP ONE - PUT A LOCK ON YOUR DOOR It’s your bedroom, the place where naked fun is supposed to be happening. Privacy is critical. Plus, both women and men can have difficulty reaching climax if they’re afraid they’ll be interrupted. You need to feel comfortable and safe in order to have an orgasm. Constantly checking the door is a major bummer. You need a lock! If you’re concerned you’re not able to install a lock or worried about drilling into your wall, try this simple portable door lock. It’s also great for traveling and we all know how awesome hotel sex is! Get a damn lock! STEP TWO - WATCH WHAT YOU WATCH ON TV A lot of my esteemed colleagues might disagree with me but you don’t have to throw away your bedroom TV. Just be mindful not to watch any boner killers when it’s playtime. No news, financial shows or that gut wrenching, 4 minute ASPCA commercial. Cause that thing will murder any mojo within a 200 mile radius. I’m talking to you, Sarah McLachlan. There’s lots of video kindling you can enjoy together from tame to XXX. Here is Esquire’s list of 28 Sex Movies To Stream On Netflix Right Now. STEP THREE - INSTALL A DIMMER SWITCH Trust me when I tell you this, because I produced hundreds of hours of premium adult TV shows: THE BETTER THE LIGHTING THE BETTER THE SEX. Lower the lights to set the mood. The good news is most light fixtures will work with standard dimmer switches, including those with halogen and incandescent bulbs. If you have LED fixtures in your bedroom you may need a specialized dimmer. Just ask that helpful guy at your local big box hardware store. Bwahahahahaha, I’m joking of course. That guy is zero help and he’s not around anyway. Check online and always be safe when working with electricity. You might want to hire a professional electrician for this one. Trust me. Harsh lighting can kill any mood. Installing a dimmer switch is an investment in your love life! STEP FOUR - GET SOME CANDLES Candles make any room more romantic. Of course, always use the safest operation possible and if you’re concerned about open flames, you can get battery operated candles. Be mindful of using multiple scented candles because you don’t want your bedroom to smell like the backroom of Bed Bath and Beyond. Unless that turns you on. Hey, you do you. I really love these luxury scented soy jar candles from Lulu. They have tons of really beautiful scents to choose from. Consider anything with vanilla, cinnamon, lavender, jasmine and amber to set the mood for romance. If you want something that doesn’t have an open flame, check out this really popular set of remote controlled candles in various sizes. They create amazing ambiance in the room, you can turn them on and off with a remote, and no matches are required. STEP FIVE - REMOVE THE FAMILY PHOTOS FROM YOUR BEDROOM There are 36,000 photos of your kids, family and cats all over the damn house. Please remove them from your bedroom. The last thing you need to see when you’re getting railed from behind is a picture of your mother-in-law. I don’t care how hot she is! Your bedroom is for your own sexy time and connecting with your partner, it’s not a virtual scrapbook. Clear all of the family photos out of there, STAT. You can keep one or two of you perhaps from a romantic vacation or your honeymoon. Everything else has got to go! STEP SIX - CLEAR OUT THE CRAP I’m not saying you need to totally Marie Kondo your bedroom but…yeah, you kinda do. Clutter makes noise and it also adds to stress. It’s impossible to have a mind-blowing orgasm when your tax returns are 2 feet away on the nightstand. Clear that shit out! Laundry, kid crap, unfinished projects, stacks of books and magazines, that exercise bike underneath the clothes you’re donating to charity any day now…it all has to go! Be ruthless. This room is for sleep and sex. Your vision board will be just fine in the other room. This is your LOVE NEST, you need to get the crap, clutter and paperwork out of there. The “quieter” your room is, the more relaxed you’ll feel and the better sex you’ll have. STEP SEVEN - INVEST IN BETTER BEDDING You don’t have to spend a fortune but you need to make an investment in sexy bedding. All new sheets, pillow cases, throw pillows and a new duvet cover can wake up your bed. We’re talking rich colors and silky, sexy textures. That’s why hotel sex is so fun. It’s in a room free of clutter with really fine bedding. This cute little heart pillow looks sweet but it’s actually a wedge specially designed for sex by one of my favorite brands, Liberator. These 1800 Thread Count Luxury Egyptian Cotton Sheets come in 17 different colors and are surprisingly affordable. Do not spend a third of your life on low thread count sheets. You deserve Egyptian Cotton bitch! STEP EIGHT - GET A NAUGHTY VAULT I’m a big fan of sex toys, high end lube and whatever else adds to the fun in bed. But if there’s anyone else in your house, you can’t store naughty stuff in your nightstand. You also don’t want to hide everything in a box on the top closet shelf. You want everything locked away but within reach. You need a Naughty Vault. A lockbox that slides right under your bed and keeps your favorite play items within reach but out of prying hands. No one will know it’s there. I really like this Vaultz Underbed Locking Storage Chest. Available in numerous sizes and colors, a Naughty Vault will keep all your playthings nearby and very secure. Just remember to keep everything fully charged and cleaned so it’s ready when you are. STEP NINE - COLOR IS IMPORTANT Your bedroom is a love nest. Stark white walls are fine for an art gallery but when you’re setting the tone for romance, you always have to think about color. For a sexy bedroom, consider darker, richer colors. Olive. Deep violet. Charcoal. Warm greys. Lavender. It’s just paint. Go crazy. Everyone has their own opinions and reaction to color, it’s a very personal choice. Just envision your own personal retreat. Maybe paint an accent wall or go all in. There are tons of examples online. Play with color to create your ultimate love nest. STEP TEN - SOUNDPROOFING You definitely want a little extra privacy for when things get a little extra freaky. There are all sorts of things you can do to help quiet your bedroom. Think about installing natural cork tiles or hanging some heavy curtains behind your bed. The patron saint of serial remodelers, Bob Vila has some great suggestions for ways you can soundproof your bedroom. Do it in the name of design and no one will be the wiser. Alright, this list might seem a little daunting but if you tackle little bits and pieces, before you know it the joint will be rockin.’ If you’d like to share some before and after pictures of your new love sanctuary, I’d love to see them and post some here. Are you in an “alternative” relationship? No, you are not, because there’s no such thing as an “alternative” relationship. Who’s to say what is alternative and what is mainstream? I’m guessing someone who’s in a so-called mainstream relationship. But to other folks, your mainstream relationship may actually look like an alternative relationship. Jesus, I’m writing like an Escher drawing. Let’s look at it this way. If you are a consenting adult and you are in a super happy relationship with another consenting adult or adults, then you are in the perfect relationship for you. And that’s all that matters. I hate arugula. Does that mean everyone else has to hate arugula or they’re deviants? Nope. You eat whatever greens you want, it’s none of my damn business if you want to eat filthy, disgusting and horrible arugula. And please don’t email me about my hatred of arugula. I didn’t say anything or judge you when you said you hated tasty, delicious cilantro. Speaking of tasty and delicious, on this show, I talk with comedian, writer, producer and host Vanessa Gritton about her current relationship. She’s openly bisexual and so his her male partner, and you know what, the two of them have never been happier. Now a lot of people have a lot to say about bisexuality. “That’s not real!” “Choose a team!” “You’re really gay and can’t admit it!” “Arugula is delicious, you are so wrong!” Yup…it doesn’t matter what anyone has to say about your relationship. Like, at all. Ever. So instead of wondering what’s normal and what’s alternative and what’s weird and what’s acceptable, check out this conversation with Vanessa about her life and her decisions and why she’s hella happy. That’s all anyone really wants. Any maybe some donuts. You can follow Vanessa @nesgritton Vanessa also hosts numerous comedy and pop culture shows for El Rey Network and clearly hangs out in Burbank diners way longer than acceptable. Check her out. She’s very happy. Sex Ed The Musical is available on iTunes, Stitcher, Podtail, IHeartRadio, Podbay, Spotify and more. Please SUBSCRIBE to Sex Ed The Musical HERE and leave a 5-Star Review!
