"Sooo... how do I figure out what to charge for my offer? I don't want to undercharge. But I also can't even imagine someone paying that amount of money to work with me. Dee and Khah join founding members Tyler Young (Lead Guitar) and Scott Eckel (Drums) for a more mature sounding yet still a super melodic new version of MAKEOUT which should make longtime fans super stoked.Now joined by vocalist/guitarist Kyle Dee and bassist AJ Khah, MAKEOUT is ready to share 'Home', their first new material with the new lineup, and their first new music in almost three years. "We couldn't ask for better new members with the band, and it's really changed the mood moving forward," says Young. "Everybody's gung-ho and onboard and really wants to do this."Producer and manager Matt Holmes describe the making of 'Home' as a unique process: "We were fortunate enough to have Travis Barker and Matt Malpass work with Scott on the drums and programming, which definitely took the songs and production to another level." Barker had a hands-on approach to production, changing song structures and drum parts and even playing on the EP ("Some parts it's hard to tell and some parts it's quite obvious, but he drums a little bit in every single one of those songs," Eckel explains). Really awesome show. I knew Broadside from the Get Free tour, and I discovered Sleep On It at warped tour. With Confidence was a complete unknown but they turned out really awesome.

With Confidence is a four piece pop-punk band from Australia that took Warped Tour by storm this past summer with their fun, well planned live show and songs such as “Voldemort”, “Godzilla”, and “We’ll Be Okay”. Though the Aussies are well known in their home country, now that they’re signed to California based independent label Hopeless Records they’re set to continue taking over the U.S. They radiate youthful energy only found in bands that are on the verge of their big break and it makes their set a joy to watch. I had a chance to speak with the band at the Cincinnati date of the Vans Warped Tour, where we talked about the meaning behind “Voldemort”, The Princess Bride, and songs the general public might be surprised they listen to.
