Kyla Pratt is a true icon for millennials from her leading roles in Disney Channel's The Proud Family, to UPN's One on One, to the iconic Dr. Dolittle franchise - she is also a PAFF Ambassador. Born and raised in the Red Hook housing projects in Brooklyn, NY, Matty Rich, became highly regarded as the pioneer of Black Filmmakers. He gained major recognition at 19 as an acclaimed writer/director/producer with his award winning film, "Straight out of Brooklyn." His classic film "Inkwell" and his latest "The Birth of the Black Underworld" along with his work in video gaming and as a Professor at AFI continue to highlight his talent. Danny Glover – actor, producer, and activist joins Tavis to discuss the Pan African Film & Arts Festival (PAFF). Established in 1992 by Glover, the late Ja'Net DuBois (Good Times) and Ayuko Babu (Executive Director), PAFF has remained dedicated to the promotion of Black stories and images through film, visual art, and other creative expression.

Mario Van Peebles is an actor, director, producer and activist. His latest film "Outlaw Posse" is the closing night feature at the 2024 Pan African Film Festival running 2/6 - 2/19. Ayuko Babu is the co-founder of The Pan African Film Festival which showcases Black-centered movies from all over the world. The Los Angeles Times said the films had universal themes as well as African themes: "the overthrow of colonial governments, the clash between modern values and traditional values, and tales of gifted artists". Films at the first festival included Sarraounia, Heritage Africa, and Lord of the Street.[6] In 2013, the film festival attracted approximately 30,000 patrons, and the arts festival attracted around 75,000.[2] In 2014, the film festival featured 179 films from 46 countries. The films included feature-length documentaries, short documentaries, narrative feature films, narrative short films, and webseries.

He has been the Executive Director of the Pan African Film & Arts Festival since its establishment in 1992. From 2016-2018, Mr. Babu served on the California Film Commission. Upsi. Eine Woche zu spät, naja, aber dafür mit umso mehr Programm im Gepäck: die Episode 77 des Deutschen Filmpodcast! Die Puf und Paff der deutschen Podcastszene haben nicht gerastet, sondern einiges für euch erlebt und geguckt. Unter anderem die Neuauflagen von "Wetten, dass..?" und "TV Total" (wobei neu in diesem Zusammenhang eher relativ ist). Dann berichtet Luke von seinem abenteuerlichen Hühnchen-"Urlaub" in Südkorea inklusive detaillierter Toilettenbeschreibung (leckerchen). Und Tobi muss sich mal wieder aufregen. Diesmal über den Spiegel, Eurowings und - na klar - Disney. Alles wie immer also. Aber auch Trailer gibt es zu besprechen (Stranger Things!) und weitere Filmnnews (4K Discs bald ohne Zusatz-Blu-ray??). Und natürlich haben die beiden auch wieder Filme und Serien für euch geguckt. Später machten es sich Luke und Tobi dann in einem mysteriösen House at Night bequem (nein, nicht im Night House, großer Unterschied!!!), in dem Tobi dann fragte: Wo ist Marta?, aber keine Antwort bekam. Denn Luke war da schon mit der Army of Thieves unterwegs, dessen Anführer ein echter Monster Hunter ist. Könnt ihr euch nicht ausdenken. Ihr merkt: Die eine Woche mehr Zeit hat geholfen. When we think of the Teamsters union, we often think of the mob and the figure of Jimmy Hoffa, memorialized by countless Hollywood films. Mit Krönchen, Kleidchen, alles drum und dran. Und jetzt drückt sie dir, lässig wie sie ist, ihr Smartphone in die Hand. Schön, in so ner Diamanthülle. Und sie sagt: "Hey du. Mach mal nen Schnappschuss vor mir." Für ihr Instagram Profil, versteht sich. OK klar. Aber jetzt nur nicht vergessen, den Knicks zu machen. Aus zwei Gründen. Vor der Queen macht man nunmal nen Knicks Die Perspektive ist wichtig! Wenn du selbst groß bist - komm' ja nicht auf die Idee und schieß das Foto von oben herab - auf die kleine Queen hinunter, sozusagen. No way! Die Kameralinse mindestens runter auf Augenhöhe. Und wenn du schon dabei bist, auf die Knie zu gehen, dann mach das Foto doch gleich aus dem Knicks heraus. Und diese Knicks-Perspekte merken wir uns jetzt mal. Weil genau aus so nem Winkel werden unheimlich viele Fotos auch in der Werbung gemacht. Für Kinoplakate, DVD-Cover, ganz oft für Bierwerbung und sonstige Produktfotos. Und das ist nicht nur was für professionelle Fotografen, sondern eben auch für unseren Instagram Account. Und damit PLOPP herzlich willkommen zur Podcast Episode Nummer 27, Signal ans Kundenherz, ich bin der Michael Kiechle. Lasst uns mal über Bier, Aquaman und Robin Hood sprechen. *** Gestern war Vatertag. Und weil ich nicht so'n Trinker bin, hab ich jetzt noch einiges an alkoholischen Getränken rumstehen. Geht bei uns Zuhause einfach nicht weg, das Zeug. Und eben so ein Fläschchen hat mich auf das Thema für heute gebracht. Die Perspektive in der Werbefotografie. Hatten wir schonmal in der Episode 1. Da ging's allerdings darum, warum es manchmal ein Fehler ist, aus der Knicks-Perspektive zu schießen. Heute geht's darum, in welchen Fällen das ne gute Idee ist. Ich hab in meinem Leben schon so einige Flaschen vor der Linse gehabt. Getränkeflaschen. ;) Und wenn man sich bekannte Motive aus der Werbung - beispielsweise von Becks, Krombacher oder Bitburger anschaut, dann sieht man recht schnell, dass die meisten Fotos hier perspektivisch von relativ weit unten geschossen werden. Das hat ein paar Vorteile. Manchmal umgeht man damit merkwürdige Reflektionen im Glas. Wenn man die Produkte auf einer spiegelnden Platte drapiert hat, bekommt man eine sehr schöne Spiegelung der Produkte nach unten. Und je weiter man mit der Kamera nach unten kommt, desto intensiver wird die Spiegelung. Und abgesehen von so technischen Sachen... wirkt das Produkt - in dem Fall eine Bierflasche um so heroischer. Also wie die Queen. Und mir hat in der Produktfotografie immer eins geholfen: Sachen so zu behandeln, als wären sie Menschen. Und man muss da gar nicht an die Queen denken. Wonderwoman oder Superman geht da auch. Habt ihr euch schonmal ein Kinoplakat genau angeschaut? Helden sind immer leicht von unten fotografiert. Die Leute sollen ja gefälligst zu ihnen aufschauen. Dann gucken die auf den Plakaten immer so bedeutungsvoll ins weite Nichts. In die Ferne. Und wenn sie einen Sidekick - also nen Kumpel mit an der Seite haben, dann steht er oder sie oftmals so'n bisschen weiter hinter dem Helden, Schulter an Schulter. Und der Sidekick schaut ganz ähnlich drein. Bedeutungsvoll, konzentiert in die Ferne. Und das verhält sich analog zu Bierflaschen. Zu Produkten im allgemeinen. Ich kann das nur empfehlen. Wenn ihr ein Produkt habt, besonders eines, dass ein Problem löst. Also ich meine jetzt nicht Alkohl. Da reden wir höchstens über vorübergehende Betäubung. Nee - also wenn ihr wirklich nen Problemlöser verkauft, wie zum Beispiel - Abflussreiniger. Banales Produkt. Aber egal. Dann könnt ihr das Produkt als Held darstellen. N' Held der dafür sorgt, dass das Badewasser wieder sauber abfließt. Leicht von unten fotografieren, mit der Kamera schön nach unten. Und zack - habt ihr n Heldenfoto. Schaut mal die Bilder auf Amazon an, von Anti-Falten-Cremes, Drano Powergel, solche Sachen. Oder noch einfacher. Ich bau euch lustige PDF's draus. Ihr seht schon, bei mir reicht es wenn ich nur von Bier spreche und den Korken öffne. Da komm' ich auf ganz verrückte Ideen. www.signal-kundenherz.de/27 - da lade ich euch die Fotobeispiele hoch. Und wenn wir schon dabei sind auch gleich noch meine Instagram Story von dieser Woche. Is'n kurzer Videoclip. Dauert 10 Sekunden. Da war ich im Supermarkt und bin an dem Blueray- und DVD-Regal vorbeigeschlendert. Und kein Witz. Da standen zufällig zwei DVDs nebeneinander, die von der Bildkomposition genau gleich waren. Der neue Robin Hood - stand genau neben der Aquaman DVD. Bis auf die Schauspieler ist das ein und das selbe Cover. Standen genau so nebeneinander. Jeweils der Held und sein Sidekick. Leicht von unten fotografiert, schön hin drapiert, energischer Blick vom Betrachter aus nach links ins weite Nichts... so machen die das heute. Und daran sieht man auch. Es gibt Perspektiven - es gibt Posen -die sind erprobt. Da tun die Grafiker heute gar nicht mehr großartig rum. Photoshop auf. Schema F geklickt. Paff! Und fertig ist das Heldencover. Also - schaut euch das an. Die Bildbeispiele und das Instagram Video von mir aus'm Supermarkt in Kaufbeuren. www.signal-kundenherz.de/27 Und übrigens auch - wenn ihr ein Online-Produkt verkauft. Einen Online-Kurs zum Beispiel. Oftmals visualisiert man so einen digitalen Kurs ja mit sogenannten Mock-Ups. Also Produktvisualsierungen. Sind dann meistens Packungen im Style von Kellogg's Cornflakes. Und selbst bei diesen Dingern kann man darauf achten, dass diese Produkt-Mockups perspektivisch so gerendert sind, dass sie aussehen, als wären sie leicht von unten fotografiert worden. Achtet mal darauf. Es hat schon Gründe, warum man Produkte visuell auf bestimmte Art und Weise in Szene setzt. Und gearde Online-Kurse sind ja Problemlöser. Also Helden. Denkt drüber nach. Fazit: Selbst die größte Flasche wirkt aus der richtigen Perspektive wie ein Held. Mach nen Knicks, schieß das Bild leicht von unten und dein Abflussreiniger wird zum Star. Das wünsch ich dir.
