Nadine Strossen is one of the preeminent constitutional law and civil liberties scholars in the United States. Her impressive resume includes serving as the first female President of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), being a member of the Foundation of Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), Heterodox Academy, Council on Foreign Relations, and the National Coalition Against Censorship. The National Law Journal has named Strossen one of America's "100 Most Influential Lawyers," and several other publications have named her one of the country's most influential women. Leroy (Lee) Hood is a world-renowned scientist and recipient of the National Medal of Science in 2011 from President Barack Obama. Dr. Leroy Hood co-founded the Institute for Systems Biology (ISB) and currently serves as the Chief Strategy Officer and Professor at ISB. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, and the National Academy of Medicine. Of the more than 6,000 scientists worldwide who belong to one or more of these academies, Dr. Hood is one of only 20 people elected to all three. He has received 18 honorary degrees from prestigious universities in the U.S. and abroad and has published more than 850 peer-reviewed articles and currently holds 36 patents. Dr.Hood and his colleagues developed the instruments that paved the way for the Human Genome Project's successful mapping and understanding of the human genome. He and his students also deciphered many of the complex mechanisms of antibody diversification. Lee Hood is currently carrying out studies in Alzheimer's Disease, cancer, and wellness. He is pioneering a 1 million patient genome/phenome project for Providence and is bringing scientific (quantitative) wellness to the contemporary U.S. health care system. She is the founder of Free Hearts Free Minds, which is an organization that provides mental health support for members of the LGBT community and freethinkers living in Muslim majority countries. Jessica Neptune is Director of National Engagement for the Bard Prison Initiative and leads BPI's Consortium for the Liberal Arts in Prison at Bard College. She is the founder of BPI's Women's College Partnership at the Indiana Women's Prison. Warren Treadgold is the National Endowment for the Humanities Professor of Byzantine Studies and Professor of History at Saint Louis University. He holds a BA and Ph.D. from Harvard and has taught at UCLA, Stanford, UC Berkeley, Hillsdale College, and Florida International University. Massimo Pigliucci is the K.D. Irani Professor of Philosophy and Chair of the Department of Philosophy at The City College of New York. He holds a Ph.D. in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Connecticut and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Tennessee. Charles Wheelan is a senior lecturer and policy fellow at the Rockefeller Center at Dartmouth College, where he has consistently been selected as one of Dartmouth's ten best professors. He teaches courses on health care, tax policy, education policy, income inequality, and a variety of similar subjects. Prior to teaching at Dartmouth, Wheelan was a senior lecturer in public policy at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. Derek W.Black is a professor of law at the University of South Carolina Law School where he holds the Ernest F. Hollings Chair in Constitutional Law. He is an expert on education law and policy and civil rights. His work has been cited by the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and in several U.S. Supreme Court briefs. Mr.Black has taught at Howard University School of Law, where he founded and directed the Education Rights Center.
