The We Podcast was created to provide a space for women to speak their authentic truth, grow forward, and rise above the challenges they face. To realize and fully understand that we are not alone in our struggles is powerful and so very healing. In a world where masks and perfectionism are the norms, we want this to be a space where you can authentically come and take off those masks and stop the comparison game. We believe our story makes us who we are and that we each have a unique perspective and valuable gifts. It’s not until we can own our story and walk in it that we are able to have the power and confidence to pick up the pen and write our own ending. Part of the Loudspeaker family of podcasts. Hear new episodes first on Monday nights at 9pm ET/6pm PT on the Loudspeaker One live stream at https://www.loudspeaker.fm or get our free mobile app.

Mary Brown, also known as The Boundaries Coach, specializes in helping women overcome people-pleasing and learn healthy boundaries. With a professional background in social work, she helped thousands of families through challenges such as mental illness, addiction, abuse, and neglect. In doing so, she noticed the impact these issues have on women, especially when someone they love is struggling. Having grown up in a big family without boundaries, Mary could relate to these women because of her own journey of overcoming people-pleasing. She became a coach so that she could help women build confidence, set healthy boundaries, and practice meaningful self-care. Mary teaches boundaries centered on compassion, and her superpower is coaching others on how to have hard conversations from a place of love. In this episode we talk about Sarah's deconstructing of religious beliefs in her life. Sarah and I have very similar backgrounds with highly religious and evangelical families, and we have an open conversation discussing how that affected each of us, as well as what she's learned since deconstruction, and helped her find her way in the world and how She's been living and creating life on my own terms since. Sarah worked as a biologist in Rocky Mountain National Park after college, thinking she was going do that forever. But life diverted her to becoming a mother and owning a preschool in Boulder, CO. She is very grateful for all the experiences and beautiful connections made in those nine years, however she found the work to be exhausting and felt like business ownership took everything out of her. She realized what she really wants to do with her one, precious life is make art, write books, and play music. So she closed down the school, moved into the mountains and started aiming to support herself with her true passions. Now her dreams are coming true. Sarah has co-founded Voices Rising Press and this year she plans to publish her first book, record her first album and has started booking music gigs again after a very long hiatus. She is at a place in her life where she lets her heart lead the way and believes love is the answer to every question. By sharing her authentic voice Sarah hopes to help others heal and follow their own dreams as well. You're listening to episode #103 with Chalice Springfield In this episode I get to talk with Chalice Springfield. Chalice recently made a huge career change from being in the real estate world for many years to healthcare. We talk about taking that scary leap out of your comfort zone and into what you feel your heart is calling you to. As well as taking the leap, even when you don't have all the answers. We discuss getting back to ourselves, and what Chalice coins as our “second half” of this human experience. Chalice is a light and so full of wisdom. I can't wait for you to hear from her! After earning her bachelor's degree at the University of Northern Colorado, while working full-time at Sears Real Estate, she plunged into the world of real estate where she found herself for 29 years. In 2021, she jumped out of that swimming pool into the world of health care where she is the Chief Development and Communications Officer at Sunrise Community Health. By day, she works in health care, and in her superhero time, she works as a motivation speaker, personal coach and trainer with her business, Unstoppable Curiosity. Chalice is committed to being “green and growing” not “ripe and rotten” which is why she enjoys inspiring, training, and coaching individuals and teams. She has over 15 years of expertise in the area of motivational speaking and has professional training as a personal coach. Chalice has spoken at National Conferences and in Colorado for various groups, non-profits and businesses. In her free time, Chalice enjoys unleashing her creative side by making and sending homemade greeting cards, expanding her brain by reading and traveling, and spending time with her husband of 25 years, Chris and her cats, Berto and Jack (who happens to have one eye). Unlike most people in the world, Chalice actually loves public speaking (when it can be fun). You're listening to episode number 88. We Have the Power to Insight Change: Action, Contribution, and Committing to the FightIn this episode I get to talk with Janaye Matthews. After receiving the Boettcher Scholarship in 2016, Janaye chose to attend Colorado State University. She is now going into her 5th year, studying Biomedical Engineering & Electrical Engineering, with a minor in Ethnic Studies. She started to get involved with the issues surrounding students of color on campus during her second year (2017) when they started to see an increase in bias-related incidents. Most of it was informal, holding demonstrations and discussions to talk about how the incidents affected them. Since then, she's also joined the President’s Multicultural Student Advisory Committee to take the conversation directly to administration. In Fall 2019, following a peak of bias incidents on campus, her and a few others led a demonstration, of over 400 students, to make it clear that enough was enough. They followed up after six months of no progress with an 11-page document of demands to administration for change.Outside of CSU, with the current issues we’re seeing in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death, she's spent some time in downtown Denver, and in Aurora, protesting and speaking out about the injustices BIPOC People, experience every day, in addition to what needs to change to stop police brutality. Janaye is also working on a project with her brother, based on educating our peers/communities.Janaye is a wealth of knowledge and information and there were so many insightful moments for me throughout this entire interview. This is a fight for life or death and we have to be in it for the long run. You're listening to episode number 86. Round Table Talk with Emily Jorgensen: Period PovertyWelcome to another round table talk episode! In this episode, Heather Williams, Amy Norris and I talk with Emily Jorgensen.Emily believes in showing up for each other. Showing up to share the real, ordinary, and extraordinary parts of life. She thinks the three most beautiful traits a human can possess are grace, rawness and vulnerability. If people possess those traits and if they are willing to do the hard work of leaning in, feeling uncomfortable and owning their stories, they can find their true purpose.Emily started doing the hard work and she came to the realization that her purpose was to serves others, while giving grace. When people are fully granting grace to others, they are loving them without judgment and accepting them for who they are at that exact moment in time. When people do those two things, they are able to truly show up for each other. It might be hard. It might take courage, but it is the most important thing people can do for each other.Emily's roots will always be in Michigan, but she loves being able to call Colorado home. She has been married to her hunk of a husband for four years and they have three of the most amazing children. It is within one of Emily's own difficult moment that she gained the idea for starting the nonprofit, Grace Upon Grace Project. We talk about how that all occurred and about period poverty, which is a term I never heard until I met her. Now because of her and her willingness to be courageous and show up for the call, I am able to be a part of the mission that is helping so many women and children. You can help us end period poverty and diaper need in northern Colorado by sponsoring a woman with a month of period products or a child with a supply of diapers. She talks about learning to have agency which is the capacity of individuals to act independently and to make their own free choices. To not be afraid to use our voices and rock the boat when fighting injustice. Her message is a powerful one that will cause people who haven't looked at the issues she addresses to stretch and see things from a different perspective. Which is exactly what we are needing in our world is a new perspective that includes the lives and experiences of black people. Hey There! Welcome to Episode #71, Redeeming Destiny! In this this episode I get to talk with Angela Bucher. Angela lives in the Pacific Northwest and is a wife and mom of three wild and beautiful girls. She has only just discovered her love for writing in the last two years. She just released her first book called Redeeming Destiny: Dancing into unexpected truth. Destiny was her stage name and it is a memoir about her previous life that was layered with drug addiction and really broken choices. She was 27 years old by the time she finally made her way out of that lifestyle. Since then she has been on a journey of discovery about herself, life, and the Creator of all things good. Her mission in life is to raise her girls as strong, independent, non-conforming women who chase after dreams and believe in themselves and the goodness of God towards them. She also wants to release others from the shame that so often clouds our perception of who we are. She believes our biggest weaknesses are really our greatest strengths and that there is nothing, not one thing we can do to separate us from Love, her favorite word for Jesus. Faith is not about following all the rules. It’s about following the desires of your heart, your dreams, and the quiet little whisper from within.Connect with Angela!* Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/angela.morefieldbucher (https://www.facebook.com/angela.morefieldbucher) * Instagram: http://w.instagram.com/angela.bucher.author (www.instagram.com/angela.bucher.author) * Website: https://angelabucher.com/ (https://angelabucher.com/) Buy your copy of Redeeming Destiny: Dancing Into Unexpected Truth https://www.amazon.com/s?k=redeeming+destiny+dancing+into+unexpected+truth&crid=1UVDBSPZBLYNY&sprefix=Redeeming+dest%2Caps%2C202&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_14 (HERE)Want more of The We Podcast? Hey Girl! Welcome to episode number 61! Moms Who RiseIn this episode I get to chat with Angela Garcia. Angela is the co-founder of the Moms Who Rise Conference, a mom to 3 boys and a wife. She believes all moms need to tap into their inner little girl and believe in their dreams. She is a firm believer that as a mom you set the tone of your home- happy mom, happy home. A huge part of being a happy mom is taking the time to take care of yourself and not putting yourself on the back burner. She believes in the power of a positive mom tribe, a tribe that empowers and uplifts one another. She believes that as a mom you must walk the walk and talk the talk if your kids don't see you working towards your goals neither will they. Motherhood is not her “excuse” it is her reason why.Angela is an amazing woman with a true heart to uplift womenand mothers. If you're a mama, you're going to want to listen to this one!
