Green Lung, Creeper, Brutus, Malevolence, Zeal & Ardor, Bob Vylan, Dinosaur Pile Up, Bleed From Within, Boston Manor... all names we hope to see headline our festivals in the future. But what does it take to get there and why does the path to the top of the bill seem so clear at 2000trees, yet so complicated at ATG and Damnation? Gav and James also have a bash at booking a stage for the other's festival, from the sublime (We Lost The Sea and Tomb Mould) to the ridiculous (Moon Tooth?) .And there's Blanket and The Moth Gatherer and Meryl Streek and Pig Destroyer and Anaal Nathrakh and Spirit Adrift and...This is our fanboy episode. There's no better way to end a year than by catching up with my friend Sam Loynes. Sam is a member of Akercocke, The Antichrist Imperium, Voices, Anaal Nathrakh and he's recently launched a new project called Samuel Joseph & The Guiding Hand. On this episode, he updates us on all of those projects, we discuss his personal evolution as a musician and vocalist and we also reflect on his memories of Killing Joke. Then it's on to my news rant, where I round up the latest singles for judgment including tracks by Chelsea Wolfe, Praise The Plague, Koldbrann… AND one of the most shocking “top notch” moments in the history of the show.PLUS - Icelandic black metallers, Helfro, shifts multiple gears for their sophomore record, “Tálgröf”, and I showcase another cut by UK sludge / doom newcomers, Grief Prison.▶️SUPPORT THE BANDS FEATURED ON THIS EPISODEGrief Prisonhttps://tristofviscosity.bandcamp.com/ The Antichrist Imperiumhttps://apocalypticwitchcraft.bandcamp.com/ Akercockehttps://akercocke.bandcamp.com/ Anaal Nathrakhhttps://anaalnathrakh.bandcamp.com/ Voiceshttps://voiceslondon.bandcamp.com/ Helfrohttps://helfroofficial.bandcamp.com/ ▶️SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST https://youtube.com/c/IntoTheNecrosphere ▶️STREAM & DOWNLOADAmazon Musichttps://amzn.to/3epNJ4KSpotifyhttps://spoti.fi/3iKqbIPApple Podcastshttps://apple.co/38wDYhi ▶️SOCIAL MEDIAFacebookhttps://www.facebook.com/intothenecrosphere Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/intothenecrosphere Twitterhttps://twitter.com/inecrosphere ▶️INTO THE NECROSPHERE MERCHhttps://into-the-necrosphere.creator-spring.com▶️THE HORSEMEN OF THE PODCASTING APOCALYPSE Horrorwolf666https://thehorrorwolf666podcast.buzzsprout.com/ Everything Went Blackhttps://everythingwentblack.podbean.com/ Necromaniacshttps://necromaniacs.podbean.com/ Sol Noxhttps://www.solnoxpodcast.podbean.com/ Iblis Manifestationshttps://linktr.ee/iblismanifestationspodcast

Oh My Satan, Rev. Jeff Ivins takes over The Metal Grotto this episode. This episode has the following bands to jump into the pit with: Kreator, Machine Head, Vader, Prime Mover, Sacred Reich, Nuclear Assault, Anaal Nathrakh, Bleed The Sky, Children Of Bodom, Merciless Death, The Lords of Algol, Mayhem, Venomous Concept, Amon Amarth, Excommunicated, and finishing off with NEW Dethklok.
It looked like it could all be over for Anaal Nathrakh but Dr Dave Hunt has some "unfinished business" to attend to, which will include a one-off headline performance at this year's Damnation Festival. How did it feel to release Endarkenment in the middle of a pandemic and have no stages to take it to?What was the process of rebuilding a live band with no Mick Kenney? Will we ever see Nathrakh live again after 2023?And is there any hope of more records in the future?Dr Hunt tackles it all, in his brilliantly blunt fashion on Damnation Vs. #damnationvsThanks for listening, please give the show a follow and tell your mates! ;)
We close the year's Album Club packs with the last time Tom DeLonge returned to Blink-182 with Neighborhoods, the returning Heck's Instructions, Anaal Nathrakh releasing the most venomous metal record ever made The Codex Necro, and remembering the time Christopher Lee made heavy metal records about Charlemagne and shed the blood of the Saxon men. This episode was originally published November 2022 on patreon.com/thatsnotmetal.
On this week's episode, while we are congratulating Ozzy's two Grammy wins, I am also voicing my frustrations with the Grammys. The undisputed masters of blackened deathcore CARNIFEX have returned to ignite sonic memories of albums past with the scorch of old school sound with their new album Graveside Confessions to be released on 3rd September via Nuclear BlastGRAVESIDE CONFESSIONS arose just in time to aid in celebrating the 15 year anniversary of the debut CARNIFEX album, DEAD IN MY ARMS. The band revisited their first album to re-record 3 songs, but now with huge advancements in production technology. A return to their roots, these songs act as the completion of a circle; a return to where things first began. The latest queer take on heavy metal sees Tom and Matt have a look at the time Trivium took a stand on the side of the LGBT+ community, and when grinding black metallers Anaal Nathrakh made us think, "camp". We discuss 'And Sadness Will Sear', the song Trivium wrote about the homophobic murder of Matthew Shepard. We cover what it meant to us, why this was so significant in the timeline of metal bands coming out as allies, and how we feel about the song hearing it now. This week's Camp Classic is the unlikely Birmingham brutality of Anaal Nathrakh, and their 2016 searing blast of annihilation 'Depravity Favours The Bold'. Tom and Matt have radically different interpretations, one rather painful, and the other an entirely positive recognition that has something to do with 1980s pop music. Sort of. Plus the Hate Crew Gaybar sees three additions, with Obarșie by Sur Austru, The Golden Pentacle by Marco Garau's Magic Opera, and Wreath Of Frost by Starforger all added. And no, we're not making that middle one up. Plus the usual overenthusiastic digressions, obviously.
Myself and Jack met up with John Cooke (Guitars) and Tom Dring (Drums) of Corrupt Moral Altar to discuss the release of their ferocious new e.p "Patiently Waiting for Wonderful Things". Their mix of grind, sludge, punk and hardcore has won them admirers in the U.K since 2012. We also talk to John about his tours with Napalm Death, Venomous Concept and Anaal Nathrakh as a live guitarist and Tom, who runs Vagrant Recordings, where he produces a whole manner of filth for bands like Venom Prison, Venomous Concept and Video Nasties. Corrupt Moral Altar want to play Ireland so hopefully they'll bring their sludge/grindcore for fans of the scene here in 2021. Share, like and subcribe to the Podcast. Thanks Richie.
It's the final episode of The Sons of Metal. CHR embarks on one last solo flight with new albums from Anaal Nathrakh and Aldious, checks out some indie grindcore from Anthropic, and prepares to enter Valhalla himself alongside Amon Amarth's appropriately-titled seventh album.
Welcome to the Decibel Boost Podcast album roundup for the month of October 2020. Whether through sheer coincidence or everyone rushing to get
It feels like ages since we posted an episode but Episode 12 of The Scratch Cast is finally here for your aural delight! On our singles swap this month we're discussing the singles “Endarkenment” and “England's Ending” from British extreme metal band Anaal Nathrakh and antagonistic grime-punk duo Bob Vylan respectively. Next time round we'll be discussing “Manhattan Skyline” by Ihsahn and “Ain't No Man With Money” by Van Tastik, so make sure you give those a listen before the next episode. On “submission corner” we tackle “Cellophane” by Leith-based alternative rockers Salt and “Placebo” by Bristol's modern nu metallers NO:IR. If you've got something you want us to hear and potentially review then make sure you hit us up via the contact page, on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or via email at theheadscratcher@outlook.com.On top of all that we review albums from Ayrshire's very own genre-spanning three-piece Voldo, Poland's gloomy, industrial doom merchants Give Up To Failure, Ireland's indie rock songstresses Pillow Queens and finally Bristol's divisive post-punk-a-saurus IDLES.Check out the episode below or via any of the links at the bottom of the page. Anaal Nathrakh is a gnarly, ear-crushing band from the UK that recently released their 11th album “Endarkenment” on Metal Blade Records. I skyped with vocalist Dave Hunt and we chatted about everything from his undying thirst for the most extreme music he could find while growing up to a very memorable scar on his body. Enjoy!
