Letting go of our ability to control the outcome isn't easy, it requires trust. When we surrender our control to Jesus and yield to His will for our lives and marriages it can feel like a scary place, but ultimately the fruit will be much better than anything we can produce in our own strength. In today's conversation, we talk about the journey of giving up control of our lives and each other in marriage as we choose surrender instead. This surrender is not to our spouse, but rather to the Lord - which will in response cause us to act more humbly towards each other in our marriage.Find out more about building together here: https://www.familylife.nz/donate/bricks/ Watch this on YouTube: https://youtu.be/wwK8Z4fZKF0For more info about FamilyLife NZ go to: familylife.nzTo register for an event: familylife.nz/eventsFor more resources from FamilyLife NZ, listen to our podcast: familylife.nz/podcastFor more Digital Marriage Resources: familylife.nz/digital-resourcesFor Date Night ideas: familylife.nz/datenightsTo partner with FamilyLife NZ go to: familylife.nz/donate

In this episode, Minh sits down with Ian to discuss the typical fees that are possibly being charged for SDA investment advice. This can take the form of either a Fee to Engage, a Fee for Services or Report Fees. They go through in detail about their thoughts on such costs being charged to investors, and whether its fair value.Firstly, the guys talk about the 'Engagement Fees' concept floating around out there. This is where a company or consultant charges an upfront engagement fee before providing any advice and recommendations. This can vary quite significantly from a amounts of $3,000 to $5,000, and even upwards to $70,000 or more.Minh & Ian discusses what is (or isn't) offered for such upfront fees, and what should be the tangible benefit to the investor. Too many SDA market players charge such fees, and offer nothing in return (rip off, one wonders???) They then talk about the Fee for Services offering which is a more understood concept in the market, being the fees charged on a monthly retainer, or on an hourly rate, such as an accountant or lawyer would charge as a comparison. The third type of fees are those for reports to give the buyer more data to determine whether they wish to proceed down the track of an NDIS Property investment. This is know as 'Report Fees' and this is what we commonly do provide for clients who wish to get a report from out team.In summary, the point of this episode, is to notify our listeners to be vigilant of the fees being charged by "agents" (aka Fake Experts) - question everything! What is the service for which the payment is being made for, and what is the cooling off period, or refund policy. Don't be fooled, we say, and get everything in writing. We want investors to be mindful of what advice is being provided.----------------------------DIFFERENT TYPES OF PROFESSIONAL FEES"Fee for service" refers to a payment model where clients pay a set fee for each service or consultation provided by a professional, such as a lawyer, accountant, or financial advisor. This differs from other payment models, like hourly rates or retainer fees, where the cost may vary based on the time spent or ongoing relationship. An “Engagement Fee” is an upfront payment made by a client to secure the services of a professional advisor or consultant. It's typically a portion of the total fee for the services rendered and is often paid at the beginning of the engagement. This fee helps ensure the commitment of both parties to the project or consultation and may cover initial costs or preparations by the advisor. A “Retainer Fee” is a regular, recurring payment made by a client to retain the services of a professional, such as a lawyer, consultant, or freelancer, for a specific period. The client pays the retainer fee upfront to secure the availability of the professional's services as needed throughout the agreed-upon period. The professional then typically sets aside a certain amount of time or resources each month to attend to the client's needs, whether they require ongoing support, periodic consultations, or access to expertise on an as-needed basis.----------------------------LEAVE US A GOOGLE REVIEW!SDA RESEARCH REPORTShttps://ndis.property/reportsSDA MASTERCLASShttps://ndis.property/eventsFor any podcast related queries or suggestions, please contact our podcast team via email info@ndis.propertywww.sdahousingpodcast.com.au
Episode 10 is all about when and how to talk to your partner about sex. If you're dating, considering dating, or in a relationship, don't miss this one. It will take the guesswork out and keep you from a lot of disappointment. Many of us spin out in worry about finding the "right time;" avoid talking about important sexual needs, desires, or challenges out of fear or shame; or just blurt out our issues whenever we feel urgent about it. None of these approaches will help you get what you want and need from your partner. This episode gives you the guidance you need to avoid these common communication pitfalls. We're going to cover good times and bad times to talk about sex, including what kinds of topics work (and don't work) when you're in the middle of getting it on. I'll also teach you the 3 key concepts to help conversations on sensitive subjects go more smoothly. Practicing these will help you and your partner feel heard, enable better connection, make empathy more likely, and avoid conflict. From the episode, the baseline questions I suggest everyone cover with sex partners periodically are below. Consider these a starting point. What would make sex extra amazing for your partner? For you? What would you both like more of? How do you both like to be invited to sexy times? What kind of flirting feels really good to you and them? How do you like to be escalated with? (That is, moving from flirting to touch, initiating kissing, escalating to making out, moving from making out to removing clothes, initiating genital touch, etc.) How do your genitals particularly like to be touched? What helps you get off? What gets in the way of your arousal or hinders your orgasm? How do you know when sexy times are over? What do you like as a check in for when you'd like to wrap up or end sex? What kind of aftercare do you like? (That is, when the sexy times do come to a close, how can you support each other to come down from that in a gentle, connected way? Is there anything your partner should know about how you feel after sex? For example, some people cry, meditate, get very quiet, sleepy, sweaty, etc. and all of that is okay but good to know!)Plus these basic logistical questions: When were you last STI tested and what were the results? How many partners do you currently have and what are your safety practices with them? Do you want to be non-monogamous or monogamous and how do you like to organize that? How do you define and communicate around monogamy or non-monogamy? This put a cat among the pigeons in all kinds of ways, and generated hundreds, if not thousands of messages, comments and e-mails.In this follow-up, I address my resulting cancellation from an event by an offended christian, before reading out a wide range of correspondence received on the whole question of just what this reality actually is, and the nature of the force that could be presiding over it.*To become a supporter of my Patreon channel:https://www.patreon.com/user?u=113137448To donate to the US East Coast Tour crowdfunder:https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/help-me-get-to-us-east-coast-for-4-talk-eventsFor all upcoming events:www.djmarkdevlin.com/events/
My guest is Kendall Kroesen, the Community Outreach Coordinator for Mission Garden, who you might remember from Episode 39. With a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology he participated in a number of archaeological and conservation projects. In the early 2000s, he left social science and joined the Tucson Audubon society, where he created the Urban Bird Habitat Program and was involved with rural habitat restoration. He's joining us today to kick-off a little summer series focused on backyard birds and native plants that might attract them. This episode of OncoSnacks kicks off Michael and Josh's sojourn into the wide world of immune-mediated adverse effects. Inevitably, as most blowhards do, they begin with the lungs. Immune-mediated pneumonitis is not as common as endocrine-axis abnormalities, dermatitis or colitis, but it can be insidious and devastating in equal measure. Such is the potential impact that must be considered in any patient who has received immunotherapy and presents with dyspnoea or a dry cough. Listen to learn more, and you will also know what irAEs and Senator Joseph McCarthy have in common.Guidelines for the management of Immune-Mediated Pneumonitis are available at:https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fonc.2020.01785/full#:~:text=will%20be%20discussed.-,Incidence%20and%20Risk%20Factors,due%20to%20pneumonitis%20(6)https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7161534/https://www.eviq.org.au/clinical-resources/side-effect-and-toxicity-management/immunological/1993-management-of-immune-related-adverse-eventsFor more episodes, resources and blog posts, visit www.inquisitiveonc.comFind us on Twitter @InquisitiveOnc!If you want us to look at a specific trial or subject, email us at inquisitiveonc@gmail.comArt courtesy of Taryn SilverMusic courtesy of:- Music Unlimited: https://pixabay.com/users/music_unlimited-27600023/- SoulProdMusic: https://pixabay.com/users/soulprodmusic-30064790/Note: This podcast is for educational purposes only. In this solo-cast episode I will share what my very first experience with Breathwork was like, and how it has changed my life! I will also share my last session, which was on the day of this recording! My main intention with this episode is to show you how Breathwork can help you heal your traumas, open your heart and open your channels to the spiritual realms. Also, the reason why I will share my first experience and the one I did today is so that you can see how a constant practice of Breathwork can expand your consciousness and take you to the deepest parts of yourself and, paradoxically, the farthest dimensions too!To sign up for my previous and/or upcoming Monthly Group Breathwork & Meditation Classes, check: www.willcaminada.com/eventsFor more info about Breathwork and my 1:1 sessions, check: www.willcaminada.com/healingsessionFollow me on IG @guiwillFollow me on Insight Timer
The Blade and Chalice Podcast - Get Aligned during Turbulent Times!
I've been talking about this for a long time and here it is... my first venture into discussing the 'New Economy' and what it means for us as we move into this new era of human history.Economy means a lot more than money. It's how we relate in the world. Do we do it cleanly in a way that honors our life force energy? or do we inadvertently support the old structures rooted in censorship, control and toxicity? In this episode, we will explore:* My personal story of why I left my career to pursue what I do now* What the new economy is and why it is more important than ever now* How we can align with better practices that enliven our circuitry* How to ensure the way we present our business is fully aligned with the vibration and high frequency of our offering?* How to identify systems and structures rooted in predatory/manipulative tactics* Ways that we can make small changes in our lives that amount to positive results in the world. Here's a link to the events referenced in the episode:https://www.thebladeandchalice.com/eventsFor more information about my work:Website: http://www.thebladeandchalice.com/FB: https://www.facebook.com/thebladeandchalice/IG: thebladeandchaliceYT: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheBladeandChalice

Recover Your Soul: A Spiritual Path to a Happy and Healthy Life
Detachment allows us to let go of another's behavior and our feeling the need to fix or change their behaviors. When we can let go and keep the focus on our selves we can find happiness- even when there is chaos around us. This episode talks about detachment from my understanding of it from Al-Anon. I have learned so much in the rooms of Al-Anon as they along with my recovery of alcoholism have been the foundation of Soul Recovery.IN AL-ANON WE LEARN: • Not to suffer because of the actions or reactions of other people • Not to allow ourselves to be used or abused by others in the interest of another's recovery • Not to do for others what they can do for themselves • Not to manipulate situations so others will eat, go to bed, get up, pay bills, not drink, or behave as we see fit • Not to cover up for another's mistakes or misdeeds • Not to create a crisis • Not to prevent a crisis if it is in the natural course of eventsFor more information about Rev. Today on the Take on Board podcast, Helga talks with Henriette Rothschild about bushfires, climate change, emergencies and the impact that this has in the boardroom.Helga was in Adelaide during the Christmas period. During that time, the Adelaide Hills experienced devastating fires. Two people died and others were injured. More than 80 homes were lost, as well as about 500 outbuildings, hundreds of vehicles and extensive losses of livestock, pets and massive crop damage and vineyard damage. In particular, about 1100 hectares of the Adelaide Hills vineyards are believed to have been destroyed or badly damaged due to the fires. This is around one third of the area's grape production.Helga immediately thought of speaking with Henriette about the impact of this sort of devastation and bushfires on the wine industry, as she is on the board of Brown Family Wine Group (Brown Brothers Winery). She’s also on the Board of Richmond Football Club (so she’s held the Premiership Cup!) and a former Advisory Board member of CircleSource and Victoria Police.Helga met Henriette when they did Company Directors Course together at the Australian Institute of Company Directors and she immediately impressed me as one of the smartest people in the room. She has more than a decade of success in challenging executive leadership roles across Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Korea, and has a background in sales, commercial marketing, consulting and HR. She's passionate about working with great people to ensure organisations transform and perform.Contact Henriette or find out more about her:https://www.linkedin.com/in/henriette-rothschild-43b37b2/Resources from this episode:Brown Family Group Wines: https://www.brownbrothers.com.au/Supporting the Australian Wine Industry after the fires: https://www.thedrinksbusiness.com/2020/01/how-you-can-support-the-australian-wine-industry-after-the-fires/Adelaide Hills Bushfire affected wineries who need your support: https://glamadelaide.com.au/heres-the-bushfire-affected-wineries-who-need-your-support/FOR MORE INFORMATION:Join the Take on Board community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TakeOnBoard/Follow along on Twitter: @TakeOnBoardHelga’s Board Kickstarter and Board Accelerator programs: https://www.helgasvendsen.com.au/eventsFor more information about Helga Svendsen: https://www.helgasvendsen.com.au/Interested in working with Helga? https://www.helgasvendsen.com.au/workwithmeTo contact Helga: helga@helgasvendsen.com.au

Today on the Take on Board podcast, Helga talks with Rachel Alembakis.Rachel is a journalist with over 20 years of experience. One of her areas of expertise is looking at how corporate governance links with impact investment. And how the flow of environmental, social and governance analysis (ESG) analysis can help to mitigate risk and can help provide long term investment return.During her conversation with Helga, Rachel explains how to look at environmental, social and corporate governance issues using two main perspectives and how they impact institutional investors and corporations.Rachel explains two big changes in Australia that corporations and boards need to have on their radars: climate change and the modern slavery act.But knowing where to get the information is just half the battle, interrogating it and understanding it is up to all board members and not just the seasoned journalists, as Rachel tells Helga.Contact Rachel or find out more about her:http://www.rachelalembakis.com/ or https://www.linkedin.com/in/rachel-alembakis-0799161/FOR MORE INFORMATION:Join the Take on Board community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TakeOnBoard/Follow along on Twitter: @TakeOnBoardHelga’s Board Kickstarter and Board Accelerator programs: https://www.helgasvendsen.com.au/eventsFor more information about Helga Svendsen: https://www.helgasvendsen.com.au/Interested in working with Helga? https://www.helgasvendsen.com.au/workwithmeTo contact Helga: helga@helgasvendsen.com.au

Enjoy this beautiful and inspiring talk on the movie "Groundhog Day" (1993) given by Andy Pej during Saturday evening's session of "The Gift of Giving—Living in True Abundance" online retreat!Groundhog Day is the ultimate giving movie. It begins with the main character Phil Connors who is very invested in the ego's concept of "getting." Phil has an attitude whereby he thinks that life is all about his personal self and fulfilling the needs of that personal self. But as the movie goes on, he realizes he is actually miserable and will never be happy as long as he maintains this "getting" state of mind. So, after seeing that all the roads of this world lead to death and he can't change the world, he decides to change his mind instead and shift his attitude from getting to giving. This brings great joy and purpose to his mind and results in a wonderful transformation of mind for the whole universe.Recorded on October 5, 2019, from an "Awakening from the Dream" online retreat with the theme of "The Gift of Giving—Living in True Abundance" at the Quinta del Sol studio in Chapala, Mexico.
