In which the Mister joins me in reviewing THE FATHER (1988), from a play from Florian Zeller, the film has a screenplay from Christopher Hampton and Florian Zeller and is directed by Zeller. Presented through the diminishing and confused perspective of an elderly man, Anthony (an absolutely heartbreakingly beautiful Sir Anthony Hopkins) suffering from dementia, this film tells the story of a father and his daughter (Olivia Colman as Anne) struggling to deal with his condition. The film clocks in at 1 h and 37 m, is rated PG-13 and is currently streaming on Starz but also available to buy/rent from Prime Video. Bokor Barna színművész a Karinthy Színház új bemutatójáról, Florian Zeller „Az anya” című darabjáról mesél.
Escuchar audio

This week's episode of the Empire Podcast is bursting at the seams with Quantumania, as Chris Hewitt sits down with Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania stars, Jonathan Majors (aka Kang The Conqueror) and Paul Rudd (aka Lang The Possibly Conquered). One of the interviews is thoughtful and considered and introspective, the other is pure chaos. Have fun finding out which is which! Then Ben Travis Zooms with Jenny Slate, star and co-writer of the delightful Marcel The Shell With Shoes On, and finds out about how the character came about, and Slate's karaoke game. Very important. And in the podbooth, Chris and Ben are joined by Helen O'Hara and James Dyer for an episode that delves deep into the cinematic treasures of 1998, discusses the week's movie news including all those lovely Super Bowl trailers, and reviews Quantumania, Marcel, and Florian Zeller's The Son. Oh, and time moves in mysterious ways this week. Enjoy.

For this week's main podcast review, I am joined by Dan Bayer & Adriano Caporusso. This week we're reviewing the second feature film from Academy Award-winning filmmaker Florian Zeller, "The Son," starring Hugh Jackman, Laura Dern, Vanessa Kirby, Zen McGrath & Anthony Hopkins. Ever since its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, the film has received mixed to negative reactions for its depictions of teenage suicide, performances, and writing. Coming off the heels of the critically acclaimed film "The Father," we discuss what went wrong, what could've been improved upon and how the two films compare in Zeller's filmography. Thank you as always for listening, and enjoy! Check out more on NextBestPicture.com Please subscribe on... That question, of course, asks if the brothers are returning to the MCU to tackle the consequential megamovies currently in the pipeline. Unfortunately for their fans, the answer, as delivered to Variety, leaves little ambiguity. "We're always talking; we'd need to see what would work,” he said. "We won't be ready to do anything with Marvel until the end of the decade." Additionally, the trade qualifies the comment -- reportedly made in early October -- with the idea that the duo have "known the truth for years." Eternals Producer Confirms the MCU Isn't Done With Them Yet https://www.cbr.com/eternals-mcu-return-confirmed/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BfNGz0wuK0&t=481s While speaking to Phaze Zero about the next cinematic entry in the MCU, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, (at the 8:01 minute mark) producer Nate Moore was asked about the possibility of an Eternals sequel, another Marvel film he produced that was directed by Chloé Zhao and introduced an entire new team to the franchise. Though he did not share any specific plans, Moore confirmed that the Eternals will appear in the MCU's future. "I don't want to spoil anything, but we have not seen the last of those characters." Hugh Jackman Promises an Angrier, Grumpier Wolverine in Deadpool 3 https://www.cbr.com/wolverine-hugh-jackman-angrier-grunmpier-deadpool-3/ At a red carpet interview with AP at an event for director Florian Zeller's film, The Son (for which Jackman headlines), the imminently returning Wolverine was asked about his Deadpool 3 return. While short on details, he did describe the demeanor his signature character will have in the upcoming threequel. "There's no choice. He's definitely the angrier, acerbic, grumpy. And he's going to take a lot of free shots at Ryan Reynolds -- physically, that is." Of course, Wolverine's mood will be a crucial element to the film since it will seemingly center on the interplay between Jackman's perpetually irate X-Man and Reynolds' loquaciously sarcastic mutant assassin. Yet, regarding his eventual grumpy performance, he also said, "I'm going to have the time of my life."
