We've arrived at the bitter end. Torie and returning special guests Chelsey Morin and Thien-Y Hoang make their final trip to the 50 shades of garbage dump searching for anything of substance in the final installment of this trash film trilogy. Alas, 50 SHADES FREED proves the third time is not the charm. Sulky sub Anastasia Steele and Dom daddy Christian Grey tie the knot (figuratively, not literally, this time). Their marital bliss is soon interrupted by Ana's former misogynist boss, Jack, and his desire for vengeance against Christian, which still doesn't make sense, as well as a certain unplanned you-know-what that drives a wedge between Ana and Christian, who proves, even after three insufferable movies, that he remains an unhinged, narcissistic a**hole. What ensues is two hours of blatant misogyny, buttplug pleasures, adventures on the Aspen club scene, painfully asinine car chases, a kidnapping of Rita Ora, a profoundly obnoxious performance of ”Maybe I'm Amazed,” and the confounding absence of a prenup. And through it all, like some absurd monument to early 00s mallboi masculinity, are Christian's cherished pair of Hollister Men's jeans.

Speaker: Brent Kercheville. The prophecy of Jeremiah has been a book of failure. As we come to the end of our study of Jeremiah we are taking a moment to look back at the failure of the people of Judah. They have traded the Lord for things that are not gods (Jeremiah 2:10-11). They have exchanged the fountain […] The post Graciously Freed (Jeremiah 50-52) appeared first on Biblical Truths from West Palm Beach church of Christ.

Minnesota natives Luci Anderson and Margie Freed followed similar pathways as state high school cross country stars and successful collegiate skiers. Then both discovered biathlon. And just a few years later, both will make their Olympic biathlon debut at the Milano-Cortina Games this February. Anderson and Freed joined Heartbeat from the IBU World Cup in Ruhpolding on the eve of the Games.Freed, now 28, picked up the new sport while training with Craftsbury Green Racing Project after a successful career at University of Vermont. Going into the 2023 season, she borrowed a biathlon rifle and qualified for the European Championships, eventually having the USA's best IBU Cup finish that season. Now, she's a regular on the IBU World Cup.Meanwhile, Anderson, now 25, skied five seasons for the University of New Hampshire Wildcats, with six NCAA wins. Skiing with Team Birkie, she gave biathlon a try in the summer of 2024, qualifying for the IBU Cup at trials that October. She quickly got her chance at the World Cup.Both are examples of U.S. Biathlon's transfer initiative, finding experienced cross country ski racers who want to give biathlon a try. And both are products of U.S. Biathlon's Project X.With the Olympics in Antholz just around the corner, Anderson and Freed are excited about their opportunity. In this episode of Heartbeat, they talk about their unique pathways, share encouragement to others, and look forward to their dream of becoming Olympians with Team USA.PAST EPISODESLuci Anderson: Exhilaration of a New Sport - Jan. 2025Margie Freed: From XC to Biathlon - Nov. 2023

Forgiveness sounds simple, until you actually have to live it out.In this episode, we wrestle with the real questions most people think but rarely say out loud:How do you know when you've actually forgiven someone? Is forgiveness still required if the other person never apologizes or seeks it? And is forgiveness supposed to be instant… or is there a process and timeline to it?We unpack what forgiveness is (and what it isn't), how it impacts our hearts even when reconciliation isn't possible, and why Scripture calls us to something deeper than just “moving on.”
Freed from a mystical vortex, the Consortium's elite team must come to grips with what's happened to the town in their unexpected absence…and who's left to stand against the dark creeping in.

Welcome to Heart of the Matter Radio/Podcast. Today we're looking at a sensational story. It's Michelle Rickett's story. She's the woman behind She is Safe. Before she fought modern day slavery, she survived abuse and had every right to let bitterness consume her. However, she chose a different path. She didn't just survive, she forgave and that action set her free That led her and her husband to build an organization that battles trafficking across the globe. Her mercy became a weapon for justice.. As we move into 2026, a milestone year of American libery, we have to ask a question. Is it possible that our greatest impact on the world is hidden behind the person we are most afraid to forgive? I'm Cynthia L Simmons, and I write about the intersection of history and faith, and the moral courage that changes our world. Today, we are going behind the scenes of a true story that proves mercy isn't weakness. Let's dive in.
Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
In 2004, David Carmichael crushed sleeping pills into his 11-year-old son's orange juice and strangled him to death. He planned it. He researched murder sentences. He expected prison. Two years later, he walked free. The reason? A legal test written in 1843 called the M'Naghten Rule—the same test that will likely determine Nick Reiner's fate.Nick Reiner is charged with murdering his parents, director Rob Reiner and philanthropist Michele Singer Reiner, in their Brentwood home. He reportedly admits to the killings but believes his incarceration is a conspiracy against him. His medication for schizoaffective disorder was changed approximately one month before the alleged murders. His defense attorney just withdrew from the case. He's now represented by a public defender. The M'Naghten Rule asks two questions: Did the defendant understand the nature and quality of the act? Did they know it was wrong? You only need to fail one test. Carmichael couldn't claim he didn't know killing was wrong—he planned for prison. But he succeeded on nature and quality because his delusion changed what he believed he was doing. He thought he was ending his son's suffering, not murdering a healthy child.Nick Reiner's post-offense behavior—checking into a hotel, navigating Los Angeles for 24 hours—suggests he knew something was wrong. That kills prong two. But can he argue his perception was so distorted he didn't understand the true nature of the act? That's the question. And the answer depends on what delusion, if any, distorted his reality that night.A rule from 1843 is about to collide with modern psychiatry. The outcome will determine whether Nick Reiner faces death row or a psychiatric facility.#NickReiner #RobReiner #InsanityDefense #MNaghtenRule #DavidCarmichael #HiddenKillers #TrueCrime #BrentwoodMurders #MentalHealth #CriminalJusticeJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISDOES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Amber Freed transformed the shock of her son's diagnosis with an ultra-rare neurodevelopmental disorder into a determined campaign for gene therapy. With no clinical roadmap, sparse literature, and doctors offering only symptomatic care, she taught herself biology basics, established a nonprofit, and assembled a scientific team. She focused on gene replacement therapy as the most viable path, and son became the first patient treated in a clinical trial of the experimental gene therapy last September. We spoke to Freed, founder and CEO of SLC6A1 Connect, about how a parent with no scientific background catalyzed the development of the first experimental gene therapy for SLC6A1-related disorder, mobilized scientists, and what other rare disease communities can learn from her journey.
Concerns are growing over detained protestors in Iran being executed, as the death toll there surges. Military lawyers are being sent to Minneapolis to assist with immigration enforcement in the city. David Carmichael strangled his 11-year-old son to death in 2004 after planning the killing, researching murder charges, and expecting decades in prison. The verdict? Not criminally responsible. He walked out of a psychiatric facility after about two years. The reason he's free today could be the same reason Nick Reiner avoids the death penalty—if anyone believes him.The TMZ documentary on the Reiner murders explicitly cited the legal standard that saved Carmichael. Under the M'Naghten rule used in California, the insanity defense doesn't require proving you didn't know right from wrong. It only requires proving you didn't understand the "nature and quality" of your actions. Carmichael knew killing was illegal—but in his psychotic state triggered by Paxil, he believed he was saving his son from suffering. The delusion changed what he thought he was doing.Nick Reiner's schizoaffective disorder medication was reportedly changed one month before the alleged murders after he complained about weight gain. Sources say the change destabilized him profoundly. He now reportedly admits killing his parents but believes his incarceration is a conspiracy against him. Same framework. Same legal standard. But the differences matter. Carmichael had no history of manipulation—Nick has 30 years of it. Carmichael didn't flee—Nick reportedly checked into a hotel and navigated LA for over 24 hours. The defense that freed Carmichael requires credibility. After a lifetime of gaming every system he's encountered, does Nick Reiner have any left?#NickReiner #RobReiner #DavidCarmichael #InsanityDefense #TrueCrimeToday #ReinerMurders #MNaghten #CaliforniaLaw #MentalHealth #TrueCrimeJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISDOES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
Two men killed family members. One walked free after two years in a psychiatric facility. The other is sitting in a Los Angeles jail right now, facing the death penalty. The legal standard that saved the first could theoretically save the second. Tony Brueski breaks down the case that could define Nick Reiner's defense strategy.David Carmichael killed his 11-year-old son Ian in a London, Ontario hotel room in 2004. He'd researched murder charges. He expected prison. He planned the whole thing. But both prosecution and defense psychiatrists agreed—Carmichael was in a psychotic state triggered by the antidepressant Paxil. He believed his healthy son was brain-damaged and suffering. In his mind, he wasn't committing murder. He was ending suffering. Under the M'Naghten rule, he didn't understand the "nature and quality" of his actions. Verdict: not criminally responsible.California uses the same legal standard. Nick Reiner's medication was reportedly changed one month before he allegedly stabbed his parents to death. Sources say he admits to the killings but believes his incarceration is a conspiracy. The same defense could apply. But Carmichael had no history of manipulation. Nick has 30 years of it—18-plus rehab facilities, a lifetime of gaming systems. Carmichael didn't flee. Nick reportedly checked into a hotel and spent 24 hours moving through Los Angeles. The precedent exists. The legal pathway exists. But making it work requires something Nick Reiner has never had: credibility.#NickReiner #RobReiner #DavidCarmichael #InsanityDefense #TrueCrime #HiddenKillers #Podcast #ReinerCase #CriminalLaw #MentalHealthJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISDOES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Andi is joined by professional organizer Karin Freed who discusses the complexities of chronic disorganization and hoarding disorder. She clarifies that hoarding is a clinical mental health diagnosis characterized by a persistent difficulty in discarding items, which is distinct from temporary situational clutter. The discussion explores how mental health issues can contribute to these behaviors, affecting people from all backgrounds. To address these issues, Freed highlights the "Buried in Treasures" class, a structured program that utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and group support to help individuals stop acquiring items and start letting go. She emphasizes that recovery is possible through peer accountability, safety-first strategies, and shifting one's mindset regarding personal possessions. "Buried in Treasures" groups promote a non-judgmental approach to help people reclaim their living spaces and improve their quality of life. For more information about Karin's courses, contact her at 440-666-9326 or email kefconsulting@gmail.com
Erez Druk, CEO of Freed, was motivated to bring technology to the healthcare environment based on his wife's experience as a family medicine doctor. Freed was founded to alleviate the provider's administrative burdens by leveraging AI to streamline pre-visit preparation, billing, and EHR maintenance. The focus is on small and rural private practices, giving them tools to save time, reduce costs, and maintain their independence. Erez explains, "So the need that I identified, together with my wife Gabi, was that clinicians need more time in their lives. They want to spend less time on this admin work and more time again with their patients and families. And that was it, thinking about how we can use these new technologies and feel better products that really take care of that, help clinicians be happier and freer, hence the name Freed. Yes, super proud now to be supporting more than 25,000 clinicians who will use Freed to do a lot of this work for them. So that's how the need was identified for years of watching the pain, let's say." "But my background is, so I studied mathematics and computer science back in Israel. So I'm originally from Israel. In the Technion, we like to think of Technion as the MIT of Israel. So I studied there as an undergrad, and then I moved to the Bay Area to work for Facebook as an engineer. I was very lucky to start on the same day on the same team with this guy named Andrey, who, 10 years later, after lots of convincing, is my co-founder and CTO. So he is the real technical brain behind what we're doing here. So I worked as an engineer and tech lead at Facebook, and then I started working in my first startup called UrbanLeap." "And with EHR integration- I'm going a bit into the weeds here- but EHR integration is a big problem in healthcare that is mostly unsolved. So, we built an agent, which we call "EHR Push," that goes into the EHR and, like a human, finds the right fields, navigates to the right places, and puts the note and everything in the EHR for the clinician. And it's working amazingly. It saves clinicians a lot of time. And that's another example of how we apply this agentic AI to solve more and more complex problems for the clinician, keep it simple, and just save as much time as we can for clinicians." #FreedAI #AIscribes #HealthcareAI #ClinicianBurnout #HealthTech #AIinHealthcare #HealthcareAI #MedicalDocumentation #HealthcareInnovation #DigitalHealth #PhysicianWellness #HealthcareEfficiency #MedTech GetFreed.AI Listen to the podcast here

What are the legal implications of the unprecedented mass pardoning of the January 6th rioters? What does it say about American rule of law? President Biden's DOJ prosecuted nearly 1,600 of the January 6, 2021, rioters—many for acts of shocking violence against police and government offices. On January 20, newly sworn-in President Trump, in one of his first official acts, issued a sweeping grant of clemency to all of the rioters charged in connection with the attack on the Capitol attack. He pardoned most defendants and commuted the sentences of 14 members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers militia, most of whom had been convicted of seditious conspiracy. The response from some of these violent rioters since the pardons has been alarming.“The people who did this, they need to feel the heat. We need to find and put them behind bars for what they did,” said Enrique Tarrio, the former national Proud Boys leader, sentenced to a 22-year sentence on seditious conspiracy charges, on Alex Jones' podcast soon after his pardon. Our guests today are Stanford Law Professor Shirin Sinnar and former DOJ prosecutor Brendan Ballou.Sinnar's scholarship, including a recent study of hate groups, focuses on the legal treatment of political violence, the procedural dimensions of civil rights litigation, and the role of institutions in protecting individual rights and democratic values in the national security contextBallou was a lawyer at the Department of Justice for five years. He resigned on January 23 soon after President Trump's pardons. In a New York Times opinion essay, he wrote: “For while some convicted rioters seem genuinely remorseful, and others appear simply ready to put politics behind them, many others are emboldened by the termination of what they see as unjust prosecutions. Freed by the president, they have never been more dangerous.” He graduated from Stanford Law in 2016.Links:Shirin Sinnar >>> Stanford Law pageNew York Times piece by Brendan Ballou >>> I Prosecuted the Capitol Rioters. Rabbi Eli Riesel was a working professional who walked away from everything to return to kollel. What followed was not inspiration overnight, but a life turned completely upside down. He found himself buried under debt projected to last up to 85 years, facing legal pressure, personal collapse, and a future that seemed impossible to escape. As his situation spiraled, he encountered a challenge far greater than money or reputation. Against the unanimous advice of his lawyers, Rav Chaim Kanievsky gave him guidance that defied logic and conventional strategy. Rabbi Riesel faced an impossible choice. Would he listen to the gadol hador, or follow the system that promised safety? His decision led him through federal prison, deep spiritual reckoning, and a survival story few have ever heard. This is the untold backstory of emunah, mesirus nefesh, bitachon, and what it means to rebuild a life when everything is stripped away.Rabbi Eli Riesel Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Curiuhdfc0&t=2692s✬ SPONSORS OF THE EPISODE ✬► Twillory: 50% OFF NowGo online for the season's BEST Deals!→ https://bit.ly/4eBHeKb► BitBean: Smart Custom Software Built for YouYaakov here. Send us a textThe silence after the last shift can be deafening. We dive into what really happens when the badge comes off and the calls stop, tracing the steep drop from team identity and adrenaline to isolation, substance use, and rising suicide risk. With honesty and urgency, we unpack why retirement hits first responders so hard and outline a practical safety net that works in the real world. We talk through the addictive rhythm of police, fire, EMS, and corrections work—why the culture bonds like family, and why role loss feels like grief, not change management. From the “greatest show in town” to the long, quiet afternoons, we map the transition pitfalls: relationship strain, gambling, financial pressure, heavy drinking, and access to means. Then we move to solutions that stick: QPR training for everyone, union-led outreach to members on injury or IA, and a retiree association built on peer mentors, quarterly meetups, and easy referral to culture-competent clinicians and recovery coaches.Therapy only helps when it respects the culture. We make the case for long-term, stigma-free care that starts at the kitchen table, not a clipboard wall. Leaders play a decisive role, too: fund peer teams, protect privacy, standardize evaluations, and create fair return-to-duty paths that treat mental health injuries like broken bones. Fire service models show how trust grows when unions hold the keys and chiefs clear the way. Our aim is simple—keep people connected, valued, and alive long after the radio goes quiet. If this conversation resonates, share it with your crew, subscribe for more candid tools and stories, and leave a review to help other first responders find us. ICE has released an immigrant from Ukraine who was arrested after her green card interview last week. She says she was held for days inside a federal building in downtown San Diego. Reporter: Kori Suzuki, KPBS We're getting into the cold, wet part of the year, and for many people that means it's time to nestle indoors and stay cozy. It isn't in our heritage so we can't accept freedom. What if all we do is live the life we knew before, because we cannot change our life we knew before. Then America is not the way we thought it could be. Sky Pilot Radio 60's thru the 80's https://live365.com/station/Sky-Pilot-Radio-a43752
Send us a textWhat does it take to build mental health care that first responders actually trust? We sit down with former Revere police officer Joe Rizzuti, whose journey from stacked line-of-duty trauma and alcohol use to peer support leadership strips away the clichés and gets to what works. Joe's story starts with a tough childhood, a military turnaround, and a policing career shaped by high-stakes cases and a deep love for community. It also includes administrative betrayals, devastating calls, and the moment he walked into On-Site Academy expecting a firearms range and found a lifeline instead. From there, Joe breaks down how cultural competence changes outcomes. If a clinician doesn't understand roll call, shift work, gallows humor, and the weight of cumulative stress, trust collapses. He explains how he vets treatment programs—On-Site for acute resets, First Responder Wellness in California for intensive trauma work, and union-aligned options like IAFF Centers of Excellence—while calling out profit-first models that fail responders. We talk insurance constraints, travel realities, and why credibility is earned one referral at a time.We also tackle the retiree cliff and why too many officers and firefighters struggle within five years of leaving the job. Joe's answer: a coaching model adapted from recovery support that restores purpose, routine, and community long before the badge comes off. The takeaway is clear—care must be team-driven, ego-free, and relentlessly practical. If you lead, remove barriers. If you treat, learn the culture. If you're a peer, keep checking in long after the headlines fade. If you are interested, please visit the Onsite academy at https://onsiteacademy.org/ Visit the NEPBA at https://www.nepba.org/Subscribe, share with a teammate who needs it, and leave a review to help more first responders find this conversation.Freed.ai: We'll Do Your SOAP Notes!Freed AI converts conversations into SOAP note.Use code Steve50 for $50 off the 1st month!Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. Send us a textThe story begins where many first responder lives converge: relentless calls, court dates, and a small department that never truly sleeps. Then the personal hits. Former New Hampshire police chief Doug Wyman opens up about parenting through a son's addiction at the height of the opioid crisis, supporting a younger child through identity shifts, and the morning that changed everything—when his wife died by suicide with his duty weapon. What follows is a rare, unguarded look at procedure meeting grief, and how systems can protect evidence while still protecting people. We walk through what real support looks like after the casseroles stop—peer teams that actually call, clergy who listen more than they preach, and a therapist with true cultural competency. Doug explains why a mind body spirit triangle isn't fluff; it's the backbone of resilience for first responders and families. Spirituality here is practical, not preachy—whether you find it in church, Stoicism, or a clear atheist ethic. Acceptance becomes the turning point. It's not agreement. It's the doorway to choose constructive over destructive, to convert pain into purpose, and to build post-traumatic growth one small habit at a time.We also dig into the cognitive traps that keep people stuck on if and the simple language checks that interrupt self-blame. From there, the focus widens to culture. Strong wellness programs don't live in binders; they live in people. Informal leaders—the ones who can get fifteen colleagues to show up on a Saturday—are the engine. When departments design with those influencers, recruitment and retention rise, and the holdouts become a minority. If you want a team to thrive, build a house you're proud to invite others into.If this conversation resonates, follow the show, share it with a teammate who needs it, and leave a review so more first responders and families can find these tools. And if you or someone you love is in crisis, call 988 right now. You're not alone.Go to Doug's LinkedIn website at: https://www.linkedin.com/in/douglas-wyman-6b80852a/details/featured/The Class Inside the Box - Focuses on Organizational Wellness and Post Traumatic growth and is for first line supervisors and command staff.
