Early stage biotech companies have traditionally had limited options to get their first asset to market: in most cases, they pursue deals with larger partners, losing control of their intellectual property and limiting their future financial returns, or become a fully integrated company through heavy investment and a great deal of risk. Opportunities for outsourcing some—or all—of a company's commercial operations can be an option, but many companies have misconceptions about the highly viable “third option” of commercializing with a proven outsourced partner.Lee Taurman, Executive Vice President and Head, Full-Service Commercial and Carl Sailer, Vice President and Global Go-to-Market Lead, both from Syneos Health, discuss the wide range of outsourcing options companies can consider that reduce risk, manage costs and optimize performance while maintaining control of their asset—while debunking some of the myths associated with this alternative path to market. The views expressed in this podcast belong solely to the speakers and do not represent those of their organization. Joining a founder-led fast-growth technology company as an outside CEO isn't an easy task. While Steve Munford had prior experience in taking the helm at founder-led companies, he started his current role as CEO of global identity verification provider Trulioo just as countries were locking down at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Further complicating his new role was that when Steve joined, Trulioo was embarking on an effort to scale go-to-market and product distribution across multiple geographies. In today's episode of Growth Journeys, Amol speaks with Steve about how he has approached global operations at Trulioo at a time of exponential growth. He takes us through Trulioo's strategy for understanding the nuances of the various new end-markets that it serves as it scales, and how Trulioo's customer base is integral to how the company prioritizes go-to-market channels. Steve also provides us his best practices for building trust, communication and preserving a culture across a rapidly-growing multi-geo organization. Steve shares how Trulioo leveraging its core mission of empowering all seven billion people on the planet to participate in the global economy as a north star for its growth journey.

ETF Trends CEO Tom Lydon discussed the U.S. Global GO GOLD and Precious Metal Miners ETF (GOAU) on this week's “ETF of the Week” podcast with Chuck Jaffe on the MoneyLife Show. The US Global Go Gold and Precious Metal Miners ETF (GOAU) truly shines thanks to its actively managed nature. GOAU only holds 28 companies, and the three royalty companies holding 30% have great financial discipline, compared to a lot of the rest of the industry. The focus for GOAU is on the carefully selected 25 other companies out of the additional 100 or so gold producers. Putting that into perspective, when gold goes up, gold mining companies tend to do even better than gold itself.
While working on his master's thesis for web applications, Tobias Koppers created an optimizer out of necessity, which he called webpack. His thesis complete, Tobias realized how fun it was to iterate with users and bring code splitting and bundling to the masses. Driven by the continuous innovation of the open source community, a few choice partners (like Sean Larkin) and Open Collective sponsorships, Tobias was able to become a full-time maintainer—and webpack is now used by millions of developers around the world. Tobias shares his story and why he recently took a new role at Vercel, now on The ReadME Podcast.
