Locked On Zags - Daily Podcast On Gonzaga Bulldogs Basketball
Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs blasted Arkansas Pine Bluff 111-71 on Tuesday at The Kennel, jumping out to a 32-4 lead and never letting the Golden Lions within 25 points. It allowed the Zags to play more of their bench, and somewhat surprisingly we saw Jun Seok Yeo start in place of Dusty Stromer as well - once again giving the team more lineups to play with.Braden Huff was the star once again, dropping 19 points with seven rebounds and three blocks, while Graham Ike had 17. Yeo had 10 points on 4-6 shooting, mostly in the second half, while Luka Krajnovic had seven points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists and we even saw Pavle Stosic add four points in about ten minutes, although he also had three turnovers as you could see his inexperience show through. Finally, we close out the show discussing Isiah Harwell, a top ten prospect in the class of 2024, who is down to nine schools but many believe will choose between the Zags and North Carolina - Harwell also spoke recently about his upcoming visit to Spokane in February and what he hopes to learn from that trip. Lastly, the Zags made an offer to 2025 four-star prospect Efeosa Oliogu who has already taken an official visit to Maryland, but whose Canadian roots could entice him to head west to Spokane.Discord Server: https://discord.gg/HJ4MdCMt2WLink to national college basketball national podcast: https://linktr.ee/LockedOncbbhttps://linktr.ee/LockedOnZagsLocked on Zags - Part of the Locked on Podcast Network.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!BirddogsGo to birddogs.com/lockedoncollege or enter promo code LOCKEDONCOLLEGE for a free water bottle with any purchase. Locked On Zags - Daily Podcast On Gonzaga Bulldogs Basketball
Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs climbed to No. 7 in the college basketball AP Poll thanks to their win over USC in Las Vegas and seven AP Top 25 teams losing over the weekend. meanwhile, USC did not pick up any votes while two future Zag opponents, UConn and Kentucky, fell in the polls. Is it cause for concern? We also take a look at Gonzaga's Tuesday opponent, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, the first of three SWAC opponents the team will face this month. The Golden Lions are the second worst defensive team in the country (per KenPom) and have a top 20 tempo, potentially leading to well over 100 points for the Zags - which is among the five things we will be watching for in this contest, as well as lots of Luka Krajnovic and Jun Seok YeoFinally, we close out the show discussing Lisa Fortier and the Lady Zags, who are 8-2 and finally snuck into the AP Top 25 at No. 23 after a massive home victory over Stanford - where they handed the Cardinal their worst loss in about four years. The Zags are riding their starting five hard in the early going, but are now No. 17 in the NET rankings and still have chances for more marquee wins, including Cal and Arizona, before they start WCC play.Discord Server: https://discord.gg/R67G9zqEG5Link to national college basketball national podcast: https://linktr.ee/LockedOncbbhttps://linktr.ee/LockedOnZagsLocked on Zags - Part of the Locked on Podcast Network.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!BirddogsGo to birddogs.com/lockedoncollege or enter promo code LOCKEDONCOLLEGE for a free water bottle with any purchase. Etowah made school history on Wednesday, beating St. Pius X 54-53 in the final seconds and advancing to the Class AAAAAA Final Four. The quarterfinals game was tied 53-53 with 10 seconds left after Aiden Portee connected on a mid-range jumper for the Golden Lions, but Brandon Rechsteiner took matters into his own hands, driving coast-to-coast and drawing a foul with 2.9 seconds remaining. "Where words fail, music speaks." We're living in the golden age of audio. Acoustic interfaces are exploding. Smartphones, kitchen appliances, websites, and our cars already listen to our voice. More and more brands are seeking their own personal sound. I talk with Uli Reese, co-owner of sound branding agency AMP, about what exactly a sonic identity is, why audio branding is a competitive advantage for brands, and why the future of branding will be multisensory. Uli has won virtually every award there is to win for music and sound: from ADC Nails to Golden Lions to Emmys - and even a student Oscar. For the past 10 years, he has run the "101 Great Minds" project in which he interviews CMO's around the world on Music, Brands and Behavior. In 2019, Mastercard introduced the new Sonic Brand Identity of Mastercard, which was developed by amp and has since won many awards. A particularly exciting project as Mastercard has been systematically investing in its multi-sensory brand identity for 10 years. With great success. Mastercard's brand value, as calculated by Interbrand, has risen from 3 to 13 billion euros during this time. Among other things, we talk about: - How Uli lost to a 12-year-old at 16 as a budding tennis pro, and how that helped him land his first job in the music industry, - why James Bond can also be heard in a song written by Adele, - why a 2-3 second sound logo is too long today, - why brands earn trust by the trickle but lose it by the bucketload, - how the CMOs of leading brands see the future of brand management. Uli Reese´s Screensaver-quote: "Do good when nobody is watching."

Geleve Grice was born on January 16, 1922, in Tamo, a small farming town located fifteen miles from Pine Bluff. At thirteen, Grice moved with his parents, Toy and Lillie, to Little Rock, where he graduated from Dunbar High School in 1942. An accomplished sportsman, Grice made the all-state football team his senior year of high school and later played for a service team during his four-year stint in the Navy. Grice entered the U.S. Navy immediately after graduation in the heat of World War II, eventually serving in the Pacific, where he guarded Japanese prisoners. Grice began his photography career as a high school senior. L. C. and Daisy Bates, publishers of the Arkansas State Press newspaper, encouraged his journalistic interests by creating a column that featured his images and writings about fellow Dunbar classmates. While in the Navy, Grice was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Air Station in Illinois and went to Chicago on leave, where he took photos of the city's nightlife, capturing unique images of famous black Americans like Joe Louis, Louis Armstrong, and famed guitarist T-Bone Walker. After completing his military service on April 23, 1946, Grice enrolled at Arkansas Agricultural, Mechanical, and Normal College (AM&N College), later to be known as UAPB, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where he majored in psychology. He also played football for the Golden Lions, served as yearbook photographer, and was eventually hired in 1947 as the campus photographer. In September 1949, Grice married his college sweetheart, Jean Bell of North Little Rock, a singer who became the first black graduate student in the music department of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. They had one son, Michael. When he graduated in 1950, Grice had already opened the professional photography studio to earn his living for the next forty years. He frequently worked outside the studio for the Arkansas State Press and various local television stations. Grice's photos also appeared in such national publications as Ebony, Jet, and Life magazines. One of the highlights of Grice's career came while still a college student in 1948, when he was asked to document the integration of the University of Arkansas Law School in Fayetteville. As a result, Silas Hunt, accompanied by attorneys Wiley Branton and Harold Flowers, became the first black student to enroll at an all-white Southern university since Reconstruction. In 1958, Grice photographed Martin Luther King Jr.'s commencement address at AM&N College. Because Grice was often called upon to chronicle significant happenings in the black community, his collection includes images of other notable black Americans, such as Mary McLeod Bethune, Ray Charles, Thurgood Marshall, and Muhammad Ali. In 1998, the UAPB art department sponsored an exhibit of his work, Those Who Dare to Dream: The Works of Arkansas Photographer Geleve Grice. The Old State House Museum in Little Rock followed in 2003 with a more extensive exhibition of his work, A Photographer of Note: Arkansas Artist Geleve Grice. In 2003, the University of Arkansas Press published a book of the same title by Robert Cochran, featuring many of Grice's most captivating photos. Grice died on August 17, 2004.https://encyclopediaofarkansas.net/entries/geleve-grice-1161/https://digitalcollections.uark.edu/digital/collection/Civilrights/id/157https://news.uark.edu/articles/9559/diane-blair-and-geleve-grice-papers-donated-to-mullinshttps://arkansasresearch.uark.edu/a-photographer-of-note-arkansas-artist-geleve-grice/https://fulbright.uark.edu/departments/english/directory/index/uid/rcochran/name/Robert-Cochran/https://youtu.be/bUqlnPFeFew

I think at this point UAPB is probably one of the most disrespected teams in the SWAC this preseason. They are picked to finish 5th place, I don't see that happening. This team is returning a lot of talent and although they've lost some guys, they have added some good pieces thru the transfer portal. Their schedule isn't easy but Coach Gamble and his crew can navigate it with some good breaks. Today we wrap up our preseason previews with the Golden Lions. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/swactalk/support

Evergold Corp (CVE: EVER – OTC: EVGUF) CEO Kevin Keough joined Steve Darling from Proactive to bring news the company has chosen June 1st as the beginning of their field season at the Golden Lions property, located in BC's Golden Triangle. Work on Snoball will begin about 6 weeks later. Keough telling Proactive, on Golden Lions they are planning a minimum 2,500 metres of Phase 2 drilling. They will focus on an area below the GL1 Main Zone, where shallow Phase 1 drilling was done in 2020, and historically by Newmont. Keough says Snoball will see 2,000 metres and will target a promising area of widespread strong and locally very high-grade gold, silver and pathfinder element values in outcrop and talus fines within the C Zone trend at Pyramid Peak, downslope from drilling carried out in 2020.
It's that time again, time to crown a new SWAC Champion, this has be a quite a journey. Thru all the twists and turns, two teams have survived unscathed to fight for the title. Classic All Blacks Carlos Spencer rugby player Carlos James Spencer (born 14 October 1975 in Levin) is a former New Zealand rugby union footballer and most recently the head coach of the Eastern Province Kings. During his playing days, he played at fly-half (first five-eighth) for the Blues and Lions in Super Rugby and for New Zealand internationally. He has generally specialised in the position of fly-half, also known as "first five-eighth" or "number 10", although he has also played fullback (number 15) at national and international levels. Spencer first rose to prominence when he starred alongside Christian Cullen in a Ranfurly Shield challenge in 1991, playing for the Horowhenua team against Auckland. Auckland coach Graham Henry spotted Spencer's talent and recruited him to play for the Auckland team. He played for the Blues Super 12 team from the inception of the competition in 1996 until 2005, and for the Auckland NPC side. In 1996, Carlos Spencer played for the Blues in the first ever Super 12-match, kicking off the professional era of rugby union. He went on to score 608 points for the Blues in the Super Rugby competition. In 2005 he signed to the English club, Northampton Saints, where he stayed until 30 January 2009. On 3 February 2009 he signed for Gloucester on a 17-month contract. In January 2010 Carlos Spencer signed with the Johannesburg-based Golden Lions, to play for the team in the 2010 and 2011 Super Rugby seasons. The contract offered to him was said at the time to be the highest ever in South Africa. He subsequently took up a coaching role with the team, before being released following the 2012 season. He moved to the Durban-based Sharks for the 2013 season. In December 2013, he signed a five-year contract to become the kicking and specialist skills coach at Port Elizabeth-based side, the Eastern Province Kings. He was appointed as their head coach on 20 February 2014. He was in charge of just one Currie Cup season in 2014, where they achieved just one victory in ten matches. Brent Janse van Rensburg was appointed as head coach for the 2015 Currie Cup Premier Division season with Carlos Spencer reverting to kicking and specialist skills coach. However, Carlos Spencer left the coaching staff a month later. In 2006, Spencer was named in the Guinness Premiership Awards Dream Team and collected the Player of the Year award for the 2005–06 season at the Northampton Saints annual awards, as voted for by the clubs fans. He played in four matches for Bob Dwyer's World XV team in 2006, including a match for the Barbarians against England at Twickenham on 28 May and a 30-27 loss to the Springboks at Ellis Park on 3 June. The Classic All Blacks is a rugby union team made up of players from the New Zealand men's rugby team. It is not an official national team of New Zealand. First put together in 2007, the team has played Japan three times, English Premiership side Leicester Tigers and 'classic' teams from France and Australia. In 2013 the side played Fiji as part of the Fiji Rugby Union's centennial anniversary. On 7 October 2015, the Classic All Blacks played Toulon at the Stade Mayol in a match to honour the late Jerry Collins. This interview was done on 6th October 2015 after a training session at Stade Mayol, Toulon, prior to the match on the following day, which was a very emotional time for the players who played with Jerry Collins in the past.
