Il sera à jamais le dernier condamné Français à sentir sur sa nuque la morsure du couperet. Mais avant cet épilogue brutal, il y a toute une histoire à raconter.Pendant sa garde à vue, Hamida Djandoubi coopère pleinement, détaillant ses crimes avec un détachement glaçant. Ses complices présumées, Amaria et Annie, sont également arrêtées et incarcérées. Elles perçoivent leur emprisonnement comme une libération après l'enfer qu'elles ont vécu sous son emprise. Lors de son procès, Djandoubi adopte une stratégie d'amnésie, mais les témoignages poignants et les rapports psychiatriques brossent le portrait d'un « être voué au mal ». Le 25 février 1977, il est condamné à mort pour assassinats, tortures et barbarie. Ce verdict relance le débat national sur la peine de mort et les violences faites aux femmes.

Un jour, Hamida s'absente. Poussée par une impulsion, Houria s'échappe malgré ses blessures. Elle atteint un commissariat, raconte son calvaire et dénonce un meurtre dont Djandoubi lui a parlé. Les policiers, d'abord sceptiques, réagissent en découvrant la véracité de ses propos et arrêtent son tortionnaire. Hamida Djandoubi est en garde à vue, et ses crimes sont dévoilés au grand jour.

Sa descente aux enfers est marquée par des abus, des manipulations et un crime ultime : le meurtre atroce d'Élisabeth Bousquet, ancienne compagne et victime de sa vengeance dévastatrice. Malheureusement, Djandoubi va continuer de sévir avant de connaître l'ultime châtiment.

This recording was made in the midst of my migration from Russia to Uzbekistan, through Kazakhstan. This recording was also made in the Hamida guest house in Samarkand, but in the internal open courtyard. In the recording, you can hear the hum of the air conditioner, the quiet conversation of guests and the distinct speech of the muezzin coming from the mosque on the next street.  Despite the fact that I am not a religious person at all, I am impressed by the beauty of the phonetic pattern of the Arabic language performed by the muezzin. The contradiction between the beauty of rituals, visual ornaments, architectural pearls on the one hand and the cruelty of the orthodox tradition on the other hand direct my attention to the existing contradictions in my own judgments. Le jeune homme, également issu des quartiers Nord, a monté sa propre structure d'aide à la création d'entreprise. Une opportunité qui permet à Hamida de trouver des locaux pour s'installer, mais aussi d'être accompagnée dans la gestion administrative de son entreprise. La boutique de mode ouvre alors en plein cœur de la cité ! Contrairement à 50% des jeunes de son quartier, Hamida a toujours eu en tête de continuer ses études après le lycée et d'entrer dans le monde de la mode. Malgré des débuts compliqués à la fac et le manque de soutien de pôle emploi, Hamida n'a jamais cessé de se battre pour réaliser son rêve : monter son magasin de vêtements. Aujourd'hui, j'ai le plaisir d'inviter sur ce podcast, Lilian Maigne et Farid HAMIDA. Alors qui sont Lilian Maigne et Farid HAMIDA ? Lilian est gérant d'une boutique de chaussures et d'accessoires de sport,. La course à pied fait partie de son quotidien et ce depuis assez longtemps peut être bien avant d'ouvrir sa boutique. Avec plus de trente marathons à son actif, Lilian sait de quoi il parle et va donc nous parler de son expérience dans ce domaine. Farid travaille pour la ville de Tulle, dans le secteur du sport. Il est également pratiquant de Triathlon. Cette pratique qui réuni la natation, le cyclisme et la course à pied et il est à l'origine, entre autre, de la course TULLE BRIVE NATURE, qui comme son nom l'indique, permet de relier les deux villes corréziennes à travers les chemins de verdure en passant souvent par des lieux que même certains corréziens ne connaissent pas. En 2005, Farid a participé à un triathlon à Hawaï qui restera gravé dans sa mémoire et vous saurez pourquoi. Lors de cette conversion à trois, nous avons pu aborder l'évolution de la course à pied à travers les années et plus particulièrement l'évolution de la course à pied en Corrèze. En écoutant ce podcast, vous allez en savoir plus sur l'organisation et l'histoire des manifestions sportives en course à pied dans le département. Vous allez savoir également quelles sont les courses en Corrèze qui attirent les coureurs de France ou du monde entier non corréziens qui viennent découvrir nos paysages. Il est arrivé que des coureurs professionnels venus du Kenya ou de Tanzanie soient venus participer à des courses locales. Vous allez savoir comment Lilian et ses collaborateurs d'organisation ont réussi à faire venir ces pointures de la course à pied. Before Hamida reads her story, she talks about how winning the competition made her feel. NORA AND THE WAR Nora was born in a nice country with a beautiful big house and a beautiful garden. She loved the garden because there were beautiful red flowers. She liked to stay in the garden and draw. The area where she was living was so beautiful and there were a lot of gardens and the people were kind and friendly. They were like a family: working together and helping each other, but not all the people had money, just Nora's family were rich. Nora didn't like to leave this area because all her life had always been this area since she was born and their life was simple. All her cousins were living there and they were in school and happy. They were playing together and going out together. Nora also had a lot of friends. She was so happy and she wasn't worried about anything. She was a sensitive child and she loved to study and to draw and paint: she was always creating amazing pictures. On one day, everything changed. When She woke up. She opened her eyes and heard the bombs. She ran to her window and saw the people were running. She ran downstairs to see her family. She didn't believe what she saw when her cousin died. She was shocked! Her family took her and left the area. Nora thought of her cousin and cried. Her dad said to her, “We have to go or we will die, Nora.” Mum said, “Get into this car come on!” When Nora was in the car she watched the people in the streets: how they were running and crying. They left the area and the beautiful house and happiness. They went to the countryside. When they arrived in the countryside the people said to them “Don't worry: that will not take a long time before you are back home again.” All people thought that but it took months and they lived with their cousin in the same house. It wasn't easy for them because their life had changed so much. They didn't live in their house and couldn't do what they wanted because in the countryside they had to get up early and wake up early at 5am and they should use their washing machine to clean their own clothes and buy food for all the people There were a lot of families and they spent all their money on this Nora was only young (12 years old) she wasn't happy anymore because she didn't have friends or a beautiful house and she couldn't draw or see her red flowers in her garden. In this plus one session I invite Hamida from @herikigai to talk through our experiences as Muslim women of colour in investment banking careers. We talk about how we got into finance, microagressions in the work place and why we started our podcasts.

Episode #5 is about oppression in marriage or other close relationships. We delve into the topic as Abdelkarim asks Hamida if she feels oppressed in their relationship. This of course, is no coincidence. The narrative of the oppressed Muslim woman is widespread, especially in our part of the world. In our conversation we try to bring more nuances into the discussion. We explore how the roots of oppression come from misusing your advantages or strengths in any given manner. We do not address the culturally enforced or legally conditioned oppression that unfortunately takes place in many parts of the world, including some Muslim countries. On the other hand, we look at the dynamics that characterize the relationship between two people, where power and authority always lurk in the shadow.
