As a young girl, she moved from England to the United States, then three more times before the age of 12 with her family, eventually adding a few more states and another European stop to her list in adulthood. Constantly adapting to new places and cultures, Helen learned the art of listening deeply, connecting with others, and understanding people from all walks of life. Yet, as often as she learned to blend in, she also knew what it meant to feel different and like an outsider. From an early age, Helen was a highly sensitive and empathetic child who felt the world deeply, experiencing emotions and energies that others didn't seem to notice. As her British family encouraged her to be "appropriate" and fit societal norms, Helen's natural vibrancy began to dim, leaving her struggling to find ways to cope with emotions that felt too big to contain. This internal conflict led her down a difficult path with eating disorders and depression. Helen spent most of her energy hiding the guilt, shame and overwhelm that she felt to fit in and feign ‘normalicy'. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in psychology and communications, Helen leveraged her passion and understanding of human dynamics in a successful 27-year career as an HR executive in Financial Services. She built high-performing teams and coached senior executives, using her empathy and insight to help people realize their potential. However, despite her outward success, Helen felt a growing void and yearned for something more—a deeper connection to health, vitality, and authenticity. Helen's healing journey began when she rediscovered her connection with nature, especially the healing properties of plants. Through medicinal aromatherapy and gemmotherapy, she found not only physical remedies but also ways to access mental and emotional healing. Each experience with gemmotherapy and essential oils brought her closer to her own spirit, revealing the innate wisdom she held within. It's a vital and one of the most crucial pieces to mental health, sensory regulation, emotional regulation and your nervous system regulation. The ability to utilize movement for regulation is like a triangle.   I believe that we all need movement. We all need someone to talk to, which is another edge of the triangle.   Then regulation is the third. And having that triangle of all those different pieces truly builds you into a individual who can have the ability to regulate their nervous system. Are you always going to be regulated? No, but the ability to learn how to throttle between the gas and the brake, and being able to understand what is required of you or necessary. That is, that's the secret sauce. That's the juice. That is the magic pill.

And if there's something you really need to reach out to me, meant a right out of the gate [00:00:33] A man is the voice of Apex, which is one of the world's leading coaching groups [00:01:44] You don't show up. It's like, thank god. I'd be like the world's worst tradesman and tradesman if I did that. So -- It's all good, man. But it happens. You know? That's life sometimes [00:08:19] And that's it's I wish I would have had those revelations a little bit earlier [00:10:57] My dad's a very violent marine. On top of that, very intimidating [00:11:51] And that was the moment because I knew, like, thankfully, whatever it was, I don't know if it was prayer, divine intervention, but my father stepped out of the shower. He got dressed, and he said, alright, just get your clothes on. Go back and finish your yard [00:05:42] But you cannot automate the human interaction that has to go on when you're trying to operate a successful business [00:05:07] The way that they're able to connect with me when they need something, they don't have to go through 4 or 5 different phone calls to reach the person that's most important, that's really gonna help them with their problems [00:09:09] I remember being a kid when I was, like, thirteen years old, there's something that happened to me. You know, when your heart breaks and then there's nothing but rage that flaming fire that comes up from inside of your soul, you could rip somebody's head off [00:02:18] You know it's funny too. It's like you go through those processes and, you know, whether you're a desk jockey or you're an outdoor person. You know? You got systems and processes and little things that go into the logistics of everything that we do in life, and you just get better [00:03:42] I think nowadays, we have so much access to technology. We've almost thought that you can automate everything, and you can't automate everything. You can't automate the human spirit [00:00:43] My man is just the happiest man I've ever met in my life. Somehow brings the energy no matter where he is, and brightens the life of every soul he touches [00:04:19] One of the biggest things and one of the best things you can do especially if, you know, whether you run a big business, or a small business is to keep that personal touch in everything that you do [00:13:03] And then until you fix what's broken, until you come out and speak about what's broken about you, it's very hard to move forward. Like, how can you move past things like that if you're not willing to share [00:09:21] I was almost sadistic with it because I would welcome it because I would use it as a charging station to power me [00:06:22] And the fact that he took a little extra time to just kinda let me know what was going on. I know most people are like, I don't care. Is it fixed? Does it work? But, you know, that that right there is priceless to me [00:12:39] But I know it's a culture too, though. Right? Like, culture's been we've we've been kind of bread to do that too. Emotional release is about authentically facing the parts of you that had been hidden by you at a certain age, reconciling that relationship, and reconnecting with who you are. It is literally shifting the paradigm of how you are in your body and authentically expressing yourself in a balanced version of who you are. Connecting to your body and emotions During Dr. Gonzalez's sessions, eight out of ten people get into their bodies and feel their emotions. In practical terms, he takes about fifteen minutes to bring people deep into their bodies so they literally feel every part of it. When Dr. Gonzalez knows patients are in their bodies, he starts the process of feeling their emotions. Bodily maps of emotions There is a direct correlation between feelings and emotions and body pain. Practicians like Dr. Gonzalez check out people's bodies, how they are standing, and their posture and hips to understand their feelings. For example, anytime someone feels anger, nine out of ten times they have discomfort in the stomach. When it comes to the lower body, the hips, the womb, the pelvis, and the genitals, that's all usually sexual shame. Dr. Christian Gonzalez's pieces of advice You can't be healthy if you don't have a relationship with your body. Connect with your body and take ten minutes daily to do a body scan and mindfulness meditation of feeling every part of it. Notice what your body's asking for and honor it. Start expanding and honoring your voice and find out practices that would make you connect with your sexual energy.

The holidays and family gatherings can be stressful AF! Old family issues or emotions easily come up, triggering you as if you were your younger self all over again. This guided meditation and breathwork is a practical tool for relieving stress relief and clearing emotions of the past. I love this breathing technique as it's like a mental vacation that's easy to do and can be done anywhere (car, bed, dinner table, etc.). It's especially useful for dealing with stressful relationships and past family issues. It can remove unsettling thoughts from the past that surface in the present. This Kundalini Yoga meditation also can take difficult situations in the present and release them to a higher power.If you want to skip the intro, the meditation starts at 6:44. I recommend practicing in a seated position with a straight spine. Place the hands at the center of the chest with only the tips of the thumbs and fingers touching the corresponding fingers on the opposite hand. Leave space between the palms with the fingertips pointing upward. Focus the eyes at the tip of the nose and inhale for 5 seconds, hold for 5 seconds, and then exhale for 5 seconds. Continue for 11 minutes or until you feel relief from the stress.

TRANSCRIPT FOR EP33:Welcome to SHE is Confident. Hi! This is Deon Teh and in this episode, I will be sharing with you about RELEASING EMOTIONS.As family members, and in Asia, we stay under one roof and for many of us even after we are married. Every family member has a different personality, likes and dislikes, because sometimes we disagree on each other's actions and we lash out our emotions easily on them. Each time we release those awful emotions, we regret and become remorseful. If it is for a small matter, it is easy to forgive each other, however, sometimes we end up hurting our loved ones deeply with the harsh words we didn't mean to say. We tend to be more courteous towards outsiders and treat them better than our loved ones. In the name of love, we unknowingly hurt our loved ones, and we even use it to control them. When we receive bad treatment from others, we end up releasing those emotions to our close family members.There is a  famous story of how a father who was scolded by his boss, went home unhappily and scolded the child for no reason, and the poor child did not know where to release his emotions, ending up kicking the house cat. Hence, from this story, we can clearly see that when we release negative emotion, this will lead to a negative action, and often in the end, the ones that suffer the most are the ones that are powerless. There was once when I had to handle a big customer and I unintentionally screwed up the order due to my carelessness. My boss had to take over and salvage the situation. He was furious and he scolded me, we had a fallout. As my boss was my brother-in-law, I didn't expect him to scold me in that manner and I expected to get better treatment from him since we are relatives. My pride was hurt and I was upset that I refused to go to work for 3 days. During the 3 days, I stayed at home, feeling sad and sorry for myself. Thankfully, my husband was around to give me support. He analyzed the situation and gave me advice. I started to understand and realised that it was not such a big deal and it was just my ego at work. After that incident, I became stronger and I took charge of my emotions, I was able to tolerate harsh comments and feedback. Putting myself into others' shoes and having a mutual understanding. I have learnt a great deal from this incident and it has helped me to become a better version of myself. I started to upgrade myself and I was able to face challenges bravely. Each time when I look back, I find that the previous failure wasn't so bad. Through this experience, being a leader now I would train my staff by questioning them if they know the reasons why they are working and if they are truly working with their heart. Be aware and feel connected with your own feelings, communicate more with the person, or seek alternative help from experts. Go for short trips or join workshops to meet people and widen your horizons, Look back and review past experiences, reflect on your actions, and think about how you can improve on areas that you are lacking in. By doing so, you will be more aware and control your own emotions. The other party who has a conflict with you is a reflection of yourself.  Thank them for the experience and since you have learnt from it, you won't have to face similar problems again. Only you have the power to change yourself, you are more powerful than you think you are. When you set your mind to change, everything will change and it will attract good things your way. If you are worried, turn your worries into blessings, if you are angry, look at your inner self and turn the anger into power to move on. Displacing your anger into actions that you may regret in the future will not turn you into a better person. Everything happens for a reason and we need to think through what we can learn from that experience. This is Deon Teh and in this episode, I will be sharing with you about a primary family that is your FAMILY OF ORIGIN.Our Family of origin refers to the people who take care of us and people that a person grows up with, for example, siblings. A family is formed by 2 people who have different backgrounds. And often our parents who are our caretakers,  How they behave and take care of us, affect our thinking, behaviour and also our character. In some cases, it can also affect our whole life. Regardless of how our parents or caretakers take care of us, we should always be grateful to them for bringing us up and if they did not take good care of us, we should not have any resentment and continue the cycle to the next generation. When you start your own family, how would you create a joyful space that can let your children and your spouse feel safe, comfortable? It is important especially for your children before the age of 12 years old, as this is the best period that parents can give them unconditional love and let them grow to their fullest. As we all know, in a child's life, their first teachers are their parents. No matter what love they received from others, children will always feel connected to their parents. The influence they received from their parents will determine how they react and handle relationships outside. Since young, I have been taught to trust only my close family members. I have difficulty trusting anyone, especially my staff or friends who I'm not close with. Therefore I don't have many close friends as I take a long time to trust someone. In the company, it also takes me a long time to trust my staff, they need to work with me for a long time before I have more confidence in them. Whenever I hire new staff, my inner voice tells me to observe them first before entrusting them with important tasks. When something bad happens, my trust in them will disappear and this will strengthen my beliefs that they are not reliable. In the end, I handled everything by myself and double-checked all documents and micro-managed my staff, this caused all my staff to be afraid of me and many were underperforming due to the stress. After I had the opportunity to work with professional accountants and consultants for our company, they taught me how to manage the company. I realised that I was wasting my time on minor issues. In my position as a leader, I should be making decisions that help to grow the company. After handling many colleagues throughout the years, I found that they can do a good job and they also have many things that we can learn from and we should not judge them quickly and or just see from the surface.During this global pandemic Covid-19 period, they are still doing a good job even though I am not physically there. Although my factory is in Malaysia while I'm in Singapore. They can perform well as I have seen and some staff even outperform my expectations. We need to understand that everyone comes from different family background, we cannot expect to think and act the same way as us. Everyone will have their blind spots and blocks, even for leaders too. Learn to accept the new modern society concept, get rid of old fashion thinking and be positive, give yourself a chance as well as give others a chance. I give them encouragement and support. As a leader we need to be as authentic as possible, we don't criticise them and we need to protect them too.The more I interact, the better I understand them. Each staff has a different character and different talent, and I need to find out so I can assign the correct role to unleash their fullest potential. As leaders, we cannot live in the past, using old fashioned ways to limit ourselves, the world is changing quickly, gone are the days where you could just study, get a degree and a stable job, nowadays, we have to be connected to the world and we need to be creative to be successful. I learnt to accept new concepts or unintentional negative comments towards me. And I also learnt not to look at things on the surface. Many things that may seem wrong, could be right after all. I seek to understand more before making a conclusion. You won't be able to do everything. In order to achieve more with less, you will need the help of others, working as a team. Over the years I learnt to trust my staff and in turn, they trust me too. Don't be afraid to change from your old ways,  it is what you want in life that is important and not what others want. Although we cannot run away from our inner child, we can improve yourselves by joining positive groups, communities or self-help groups. Fully Feeling & Releasing Emotions This practice comes from Jim Dethmer, author of Conscious Leadership. Emotions are feelings in the body. If we don't feel them fully they energy gets trapped, and can cause a lot of suffering for quite a long time. We either engage in a lot of numbing - food, alcohol, tv, exercise - or we constantly replay the event and the story around the emotion. Dethmer calls this drama based/thought based emotion, and it intensifies the emotion. The first stage is to locate the sensation in the body and describe it as much as you. Ask yourself what are the bits doing in your body? Twisting, popping, bubbling, stabbing? Step two - breathe into the emotion. Feelings alters your breathing, so if you take some gentle full deep breathes you'll help get the flow going again. Step three - allow, accept and appreciate the emotion. This takes work and I found this quite uncomfortable the first few times I did it! Still do at times! Step four - match your experience with your expression. Move, breathe, vocalise the emotion. Yes, make a sound!! Practice this next time you feel a strong emotion. Emotions only last about 90 second. Unless you repress them somehow.
