God, Son and Spirit are all equal! Some of us ignore or don't realise the role of the Holy Spirit. In this weeks sermon we have 3 questions: 1) Why we need to talk about the Holy Spirit?, 2) What is the Holly Spirit? and 3) How does the Holy Spirit work in us? Some think overly spiritual things are dangerous, we need to be logical and rational and confusion often sets in, but the church needs to know more about the Holy Spirit as well as the role of each person of the Trinity. Listen further to learn more on this important subject. Our speaker Manami Inara is currently studying at Newbold College to become a Pastor, she is originally from Japan, and grew up in a family of Pastors.

The Interior Life – Maintenance of the Inner Man -- Part 3: The Will MESSAGE SUMMARY: Too many of us have bought into the hustle and bustle demanded by our lifestyles of today; therefore, we have little time, today, for thinking and praying. In the meantime, life is sailing by; and the inner person is neglected. We must awaken and maintain our inner lives as vigorously as we maintain our public lives – to take care of our souls and spirits as much as we take care of our bodies. Paul, in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, describes the characteristics of the inner life and the maintenance of the inner man: “Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." The will, in our inner life, is our God-given ability to choose. Often, we run into problems by not controlling our will – we go with the flow. Many of us have lost control of the will in our lives, and we yield control to the flesh. Our choices are stealing our lives away, and we don't even realize that we have a choice. We must use our will to choose properly. We need to develop our “willpower” –  our control over our choices by -- choosing a task; creating a plan; and following the plan. We need to develop the power for gaining control over our will and directing our will toward a spirit-filled life in Jesus. Each of our lives is to be driven by the Holly Spirit through our inner person, thereby, yielding our lives to God's will. The Holy Spirit enables us to do God's will in our lives. Have you, like the people in Joshua 24, chosen (i.e. will) to serve the Lord?   TODAY'S PRAYER: Keeping the Sabbath, Lord, will require a lot of changes in the way I am living life. Teach me, Lord, how to take the next step with this in a way that fits my unique personality and situation. Help me to trust you with all that will remain unfinished and to enjoy my humble place in your very large world. In Jesus' name, amen.    Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 129). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM FORGIVEN.   The Baptism with the Holy Spirit is a blessing from God which causes ordinary people to become extraordinarily effective as witnesses for Jesus Christ (Ac 1:5, 8). By it God equips believers today with the same power we read about in the New Testament. Since the Day of Pentecost (Ac 2) God's plan has been to supernaturally equip every believer so that the ministry of Jesus Christ may continue through us (Jn 14:12). His ascension into heaven (Ac 1:9) did not mean that Jesus' ministry on earth stopped, but rather it was an essential step which released even more of His ministry. As the Head of His Church He now directs growing multitudes of Spirit-empowered men and women to carry His Gospel around the world (Lk 24:45–49). The Baptism with the Holy Spirit is the impartation of this necessary power so that God's servants can carry out their calling. In effect, it is the moment when God “ordains” them. In the Old Testament prophets, priests and kings were ordained by having oil poured on their heads (1Ki 19:16; Ex 40:15; Ps 133:2; 1Sa 16:12, 13). When this symbolic action was performed God's Spirit came upon them. From that moment on they ministered with new power. Today, following His resurrection, Jesus Christ pours out an even greater “anointing” on those who enlist into His service.

I'm Gary Duncan, your host and I'm here with Stuart's Magana. He is a YouTube sensation assay because I follow him a lot, but he's a pastor out of is it England, Stewart, England. And so I'm talking to him across the pond, as they say, right, we're gonna have a great conversation about church and some of the things that are going on in our country. And I just love his heart in his message. He's very Bible centered, but he's very timely in things that are going on in this very age and very day. And so you can get great wisdom from a lot of what he says, But he backs it up with every bit of the Bible. So Stuart, it's a pleasure. Thank you for coming on the podcast and looking forward to our conversation. Thank you. So first of all, I don't know a lot about about let me let me start with how I found you. Because you have a YouTube channel. Let me share the screen for us. That this site right here, it's called messages for our time. And he's got a bunch of them. How long have you been doing this? Two years? 2020? Since 2020, 2:02  right? Yes, May 2020. Yeah. 2:05  And so very timely. You know, y'all go check him out and subscribe up there in that little right hand corner, hit that little bell right there too, as you see. And you'll get notified every time he puts one out. You do it almost every day, right? 2:19  I do. Yes. Strangled myself. I don't know how it ended up every day, actually. It's just become like that, really. I was I started once a week. 2:30  I like it. Tell us a little bit about yourself first. And then we'll get into more about your YouTube and then more specifically about some topics that you show some topics that a lot of people don't talk about, but you do. 2:42  I try. Well, I started my Christian walk 50 years ago, and this month, actually 1972 I come out of the era I like to call it I suppose shouldn't say I like to call but sex, drugs and rock'n'roll 1960s tells you my age. I just had my 70th birthday. And it was quite a time to be living or really, I suppose the 60s revolution and all that, and didn't do me an awful lot of good. And I ended up so it's a long, long story. I ended up leaving England, I was born in a place called Hove in Sussex. It's a rather a sleepy town next to a very lively town called Brighton. And it's on the south coast. And I've got myself into the drug scene got very messed up, mixed up with all kinds of people. And I was helped to get away from people, certain people that were causing me an awful lot of influence, bad influence in my life. And I was a runaway from my hometown, and ended up going up north. And this is an awfully long story that attaches to that I got involved in being accommodated by a spiritist. But he didn't actually practice Spiritism on me, he actually helped me an awful lot to get my life straight and for about six months, and encouraged me to go and join my parents who had emigrated to South Africa. I stayed behind when they went and I had the two years on my own where I was creating all sorts of havoc for myself on the drug scene, even became a salesman at one point. And I'd mess my head up with about 65 LSD trips and nearly blew my brains out. And I ended up in Cape Town in 1971. Rather, I suppose, high and dry from that experience and caused me a lot of mental damage. I ended up in a group therapy session and cut a long story short and then one of the ladies in the session said to me, why don't you go to the church that I've been going to what we know here is the Assemblies of God pain To costal church. Now I'm a Jew, grew up in a Jewish home, and wasn't a very orthodox Jewish home. But I did have what's known as the General bar mitzvah. At all Jewish boys have my father died when I was 11. And he's dying wish was I had the bar mitzvah. And I went ahead with that. And then ended up for, as I say, in this group therapy session, and then going to this church never heard the gospel in my life before with this being a Jew, you don't hear the New Testament. And I heard the words of Jesus in the Gospel for the very first time, from the book of Matthew, If any man would come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. And when I heard the words, follow me, something just happened. It was a bit like, you know, when Jesus called them, the fisherman, and he said, Follow me and you, any of you have ever watched the Jesus of Nazareth film, you know, you see them get up, and suddenly they're transfixed, and they go out to follow Jesus. And it was a bit like that, for me, it was like a Damascus Road thing, you know, just just happened to me inside. I didn't even understand what had happened to me, because I've never read the New Testament. And it took a while to get to appreciate to understand. And for the penny to drop from, it actually went the opposite way around, it went from my heart to my head, Jesus Christ as the Messiah, not just as the Gentiles, but as the Jews. And when that hit me, then I began to experience that fullness of joy, that fullness of understanding that I 6:34  become what was then known as a completed June, I found my Messiah. And I slowly started to get healed of the effects of all the drugs and the LSD, all that stuff. And ended up going into the, in the Methodist Church, actually, it was in Cape Town, and became a Methodist lay preacher, and then actually became a candidate for the Methodist ministry. But I didn't last very long in that and other influences came in. And I also realized, I probably wouldn't be able to stay with us, I discovered that I was a bit of a radical, I wasn't prepared to baptize babies, and follow a book that was full of rules and regulations that were twice the size of the Bible. So I left the Methodist Church and really started going to independent charismatic fellowships. And I've been a lay preacher for three years. And so I'd have that experience. And although I left the institutional church, I don't know the as it says, in the Scripture, the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable. And I knew that the Lord had always be with me wherever I went, whether I was in an institution, as a pastor, or whether I was independent, and ran a small house church from there and went on and off, and that kind of thing. And my life sort of went on from there. And, and it was really another situation to get involved with understanding what I termed at the time, understanding the world through understanding the prophetic message of the Bible through current events. And it was the the current and if that was like a new stage in my life, I can't experience Christ got to understand read the scriptures, I was always sort of squirrel away up in the loft of the church and get my Bible out and diligently read it, as I never read the New Testament. So it was a brand new book to me as a Jew. And that was where I went from there and then began to get interested, as I say, in in prophecy, and understanding in time events. And really, that's what sort of launched me on that road. 8:51  So how, how did you go from from there to go on onto YouTube? Was it kind of the YouTube thing was more like, I'm just gonna, I'm gonna record my thoughts. 9:01  I think I remember I mentioned that we chatted earlier about going around the United States. When I was in the it was about 1980 81. I came across a book. If you can see it there. Yes. Money, Money fails was Mary Stewart Ralph, and she was from Montgomery, Alabama. She was quite an accomplished lady. And she'd written this book, bringing people into an awareness of what in those days were the beginnings of the whole sort of, technocratic takeover I suppose you could call it the the barcodes Okay. Understanding the barcodes you might see the picture on the front there the Yeah, 9:49  I'll put a is in circulation. We'll put a link to it on 9:52  every much downside because I've tried to find it myself and I haven't. It is very, very old. But it What struck me with it was not just her, she began to sort of reveal the the beginnings of what she felt was a 666. System. This was in the early 80s. And what was her 10:12  name again, 10:13  Mary Stewart Ralph, she's possibly passed on now. I mean, this is so long ago, okay. And she wrote this book explaining the the way the 666 actually, is revealed inside the barcodes with what you call what's called a guard bars, you know, the first one, the second one in the middle, and then the third one at the end, which don't have numbers on. And I began to I actually wrote another I wrote my first pamphlet, on this particular thing. And I thought, well, this, this is very prophetic. This is looking like, we're beginning to see the system of the beast coming in the Antichrist. And I started distributing a leaflet, or pamphlet, very small one. But the idea behind it was to get people to see that, to accept Christ really a gospel tract. And that was the survey using the tools of what was happening in, in the world of computers that were actually beginning to see the emerging, we now call the mark of the beast. And I went in on my trip to America to try and find it, and went to my gallery. And unfortunately, I wasn't successful. But in the back of the book, where we've spoken before about the whole issue of endtime events and the tribulation, and when will it take place and all that sort of thing, pre trib, mid trip, post trip, whatever, she actually in the back of her book, she gives a detailed, expose a of what she understands to be mid trib, pre wrath. And I began to read this. And that was where my understanding came from, I think at the very beginning. And I studied the Scripture and the things that she put forward in that book. And that was how I began to see that and went for many years, really just just speaking about these things wherever I could art to various groups, spoke to individuals. And it's kind of gone on from there. So I've always had that awareness of the the sense that we are reaching the end of time, I always felt myself that we wouldn't even get to the year 2000. That's, of course longer. 12:33  Is there a frustration when you see what's going on trying to get people to understand what's going on to really wake them up. Because I'm definitely in that myself. It's kind of like there's, there's this curtain that's been drawn back, that you can't cover back up. And so once that curtains opened, you see stuff and you continually see. So I 12:54  think that the COVID situation really was the curtain for me kind of to draw that that's where I suppose all the other spirit column spiritual emotions came in, you know, where I began to get, I got angry with what I could see around me. I was actually working as a volunteer on the on the reception desk at my local hospital, at the time with COVID broke out. And it was really then that I started to see well, what's actually going on here, it took me about a month to realize that something wasn't right. And I was working on the front desk. And of course, like many of the hospitals around the world, they literally shut their doors unless you were a COVID patient. And they emptied the wards out of elderly people, as anyone can put it and put them into care homes. And I would my job was to to receive sort of like gifts to people who were sick, because they weren't, no visitors were allowed. And I will take them up to the walls. And I would notice as I was passing the walls that they were empty. And that staff were just walking about on their mobile phones doing pretty little. And that really started to disturb me. Then they came along and said, Well, you know, you need to start wearing masks. This was two months after the whole thing started. And I just felt no, this is all wrong. This is not how you tackle a virus. This is not what are you doing to the National Health System. And that was really what prompted me to start the YouTube channel, I suppose in a way but it was also coupled with the fact that I'm a poet. And I've got a couple of unpublished manuscripts actually, I'm keep promising myself, I'll do something with them. I used to belong to poetry circles with the city of Norwich, which is about 27 miles from where I live. And I thought well, one day I'll sit down I'll start a YouTube channel. This was May 2020. I started with a poem about COVID-19 and I just recited it. I don't think I've seen that. Yet. That was the how the thing started. And it really went on from there. But it's kind of it had a very slow growth, up until about, I suppose about four or five months ago, really. 15:20  As close to when I ran across you and started started falling as well, what actually 15:24  happened there was it was strange, it was two things really. I met another brother who has a channel. And he has quite a large channel at that time. This was about let's say, four or five months ago. And he had 19,000 subscribers at the time. And he came across one of my videos and thanking him, if I can remember rightly, he messaged me to say I know where you are. And I thought as far as strength, what do you mean? He said, Well, I can. When I stand on the beach, I can see the wind tout the Windham turbine. Actually, where we live here in Lowestoft, this the largest wind turbine in the UK, so you can't miss it. I said, Well, that means you must be up in Great Yarmouth, which is 10 miles north of us. And he says, Yes, he says, I put one of your videos on my channel. I mean, I was getting like 30 views. And even then I had to send out videos on Messenger to get them watched. And he's got about 1500 views. And it kind of went from there. And then I just started doing it. And then from that particular video, people just started to find it. And then I did this particular one called the beast, the beast in the church, the beast systems in the church. And that just seemed to go sort of viral, and it's now had something like 263,000 views. 17:01  Now is that the one where you have the pamphlet about the line, 17:04  one that was dealt with the a&r A and O productions, Alfred Amiga picked that one up, and then they use that one. 17:13  That's, that's how I found you. Rice, is I heard your voice on that video that they put out. And I'm like, wow, this guy gets it. He gets it. I gotta get hold on and talk to him. So yeah, hold that. 17:30  Yeah, that was where it really where the whole thing came in with was writing. But what I wanted to do with the pamphlet was the whole idea was having so having written something along these lines, many, many decades ago, I'd actually written another one in between these two, which have a similar graphic to this actually, except that it had them. They'd have the symbols and things like Freemasonry, Buddhism, Hinduism, and all that stuff. 17:58  And what's the name of that particular pamphlet? 18:00  That wasn't good. That one is out of print. I've only gotten on the one, 18:03  the one you're holding up that this is like, ask if people can't see. That's the biggest lie of all, the biggest lie of all, and we'll have a link right you can we put a link in the show notes, so they can email you to get a copy of that, or how's that working? 18:19  Yeah, I mean, what's been happening is people have when I've mentioned that people have said, Can I get a copy? So I've, I've, I've asked them to email me directly. And then then I've just sent sent a copy on PDF. 18:34  Okay. Yeah, we'll talk off air about how we can set that up. But 18:39  yes, I'm awfully technical with adding links, and I'm still trying to, to work out I've got a rumble channel, and I'm still trying to work out how to sync it with YouTube. Which is another situation I'm also on a channel called RT N tv.org. Okay, which is connected to a ministry, which also includes there are several other people on the platform, one of whom is Jacob prasch, who's a very, very learned brother in the Lord. He's got the Greek and the Hebrew and all that and, and does some great Bible studies. But it's getting back to the pamphlet, the idea behind it was to draw all the strands together, of what was happening not just with COVID but with the what we now know as the great reset, you know, through the World Economic Forum. And I wanted to sort of bring in the whole idea of what what is happening to lifestyles. How is that how our lifestyles changing, you know, the the emergence of a cashless society. The whole issue with regard to the the economy with the way we've seen the systematic destruction of the economy, and of course, healthcare in the UK, as I mentioned before, And, of course, the emergence of technology within the transhuman agenda artificial intelligence, and also with the virus the the way that we've people have responded to the virus and the way that lockdowns came in, was very early on, I saw that the lock downs, were going to cause a lot more damage than they were good. And, of course, now we see what it's all starting to sort of emerge. Now, of course, with a vaccine. I knew I knew straight away that that was something I wasn't going to touch. I wasn't going to put anything like that in my body. So I suppose once you've had a taste of, as you say, taken the red pill, every time something fresh or new comes up, you you kind of red pill starts to do its work inside you. And God says, you know, something's wrong there. You know, don't don't take that road. And of course, it also includes the politics and what's been going on in the world. You know, with the the woke movement, black lives matter. How emergence of that. And of course, now, in a way, I think, the pamphlets a little out of date, because now as we've moved into this Ukraine situation, we've got a new COVID, as it were to deal with distraction, and you distraction and distraction and a half. I listened to the podcast that you sent me with these, Laura rose on the scalpel. Wow, why not? Amazing, is incredible. To think what the Ukraine is really being used for at the moment. platform of the Ukraine. And, of course, it goes, 21:47  it goes back before before Oh, but Biden? Yeah, I mean, before Obama, you know, and how we've got our tentacles into Ukraine. And it's just, you know, yes, people are being killed needlessly, and it's just, it's tragic. It's a war. I mean, it's, that's what his war does. They kill innocent people. But how, how our leadership in our administration is manipulating the populace. On who's the bad guy and who's the good guy. You know, yeah, Putin has got his own deal. He's definitely bad as well. I mean, there's we're not standing up for Putin. It's the manipulation is incredible. Once you take the red pill, you start seeing past this, you become viewed as being too political. And that doesn't belong in the church. I believe Jesus, all he did was go towards the government at the beginning. That's who he fought with most of the time was the god of the 22:44  old prophets to the old prophets, Jeremiah, Isaiah, they spoken to these situations going on in their in their time in Israel and Judah. And 22:53  unlike you in 2020, the flip switched for me, we're in a war. We've been in a war for quite a long time. But now the war is so tangible, and so demonic, demonic and the censorship, and all the things that get all of that is demonically political. Have you seen the movie The document in 2000 meals yet? 23:16  No, I haven't seen it. Oh, yeah. You 23:19  want to you want another red pill type? Look up 2000 mules that Dinesh D'Souza 23:25  Yeah, I've heard of him on the Alex Jones Show. 23:29  In the documentary they do their with voter fraud, ballot harvesting. I mean, they got them red handed. I mean, they got video they got everything. And I mean, we all kind of got a feel that it was rigged. But now we're showing coming out with the proof truth feel like God's pushing me to ask a question. Where's the church? The individual like you and me and one or two other people you know when two people come together there's the church you know, we are the body of Christ. But in the in the bigger picture you know, the the coming together on Sundays walk sees warfare that is happening in the world and in America. We're not addressing that. It's incredible, how we're just ignoring it. And we're just sticking with the basics of 24:19  is it's a complete blanket of lies. And the more they tell the lies, the less people that are not as you won't say red pill, don't don't understand. They don't listen, they're actually getting differ. And the lies are getting louder and more blatant. And I mean, I see that I mean, the Church of England over here and my wife is still a member of the Church of England. I don't go because people possibly might not agree with me here but they've now got an in the whole parish area around here. They're all led by ladies. And they are lady Vickers, you know, as we call them, because over here Lady ministers, I believe in 25:04  how does that exactly work for? I don't want to say, being the Church of England, is it one big church basically, or attempt, give me a little history on that 25:13  underseen is the the queen is the head of the church, as it were, to the state church. She's this sort of, as I call her, you know, the head of the church. But it's the Archbishop of Canterbury, who is the head of the actual he's the, what we call the primate. And he is extremely woke, and extremely globalist. And he's a big friend of Klaus Schwab. And all these friends in the World Economic Forum. And it trickles down the the the movement towards getting women in the priesthood and all that's been running a long time, it runs alongside the LGBT, whatever how many letters you want to add to that movement. And that, of course, has now taken the Church of England over there are many there are some Church of England, separate churches that are on the fringe, we have one here in the town that is kind of on the fringe, they haven't gone that way. And they've said that they weren't weren't prepared to. And you know, like marrying men and marrying women together and that kind of thing. But the I mean, when the COVID started the local church here, I mean, they, they they didn't they actually obeyed the rules, twice as much as what the government even required them to do. And you know, you go in there today, they're still wearing masks, and my wife experiences a situation where a lady will, she'll walk up to a particular lady who was a friend of hers, and she'll say, Keep your distance, keep your distance. There is this fear, that's endemic fear that's got into them now. And of course, they're older. Some of them are older people. And it's very sad, and it's angry, really, to see that 26:54  talk, talk about the fear, because I think that's, if I look back on 2020, that is probably the the weapon that, that Satan has used the most to destroy lives just to separate churches, separate people is fear. I mean, it's definitely a spiritual demonic attack on everybody. 27:19  Yeah, it is, I can't, myself understand it. I mean, it's, it's I worked in the hospital. Obvious, obviously, you're aware of, if there's something going on in there, you're aware that you can, you can catch it. But at the same time, there's fear. And there's fear, you know, there's a respectful kind of recognition of something when when it's not, you know, when you could possibly catch it. But this is something that really challenges the faith, as far as I'm concerned. And the fear is so intense on many of these Christians in these churches that it's bigger than I say is more, it's more fear that for the virus than it is the fear of God. And it's the government, you see, as put this out this propaganda message, might you must protect your family. I mean, we there's a church we go into quite often he is down by the sea. And there's always open, if you want to go in for prayer. And as you go in on the door is a picture of an emoticon with a mask on. And it says Love your neighbor, wear a mask. So it's conditioning, you see, I'm not loving my neighbor. If I don't do that, and people get conditioned, and in a way that what it's highlighted for me is that if people can fear something like this, that is basically for 90% of people. It's a low grade experience. I mean, they manipulated the figures, incredibly over here. They said initially, it was 150,000 deaths. It's turned out that it's officially about 20,000. That's really, with the actual COVID. Yeah, and because initially, they said it's 150,000 with it. And of course, there's a difference or think of it and with and I understood that quite early in the thing. We have a wonderful news, internet news service here, which I'll give a plug to is called the UK column. So if any of your viewers are interested in what is going on in the UK, or if they have friends and relatives, it's a new service. And I think two or three of them are Christians. One is x GCHQ, which is this other British Secret Service. And he's a Christian, he broadcasts from Holland. And they really give you a lot of the facts behind the facts. And of course, all these they were tracking the adverse reactions to the vaccine. And what we have what's known you have the various system we are what's known as the yellow card system. And we have officially something like 2000 deaths recorded on the yellow card system, which they say is possibly only 10% of the actual deaths. And they they really do give a plug in there the only news service, we have GB news, which is a new channel, which kind of as a halfway house, people think of it, there's a bit of controlled opposition. You kind of have the right kind of puppets on there to give you a little bit of a flavor of yes, we are a little bit red pills, but they haven't swallowed the whole thing. 30:20  Yeah. Sounds like Fox Fox News. 30:23  Yes. I mean, I was watching Fox the other night, I did a little bit of a rant on one of my videos about Piers Morgan. And if you know Piers Morgan, yeah, thank goodness gracious. Yeah. I mean, that man, he was pushing a vaccine over here. Like it was like he had shares in the thing. And, you know, he was talking the other day about the queen. And I did have a respect for the queen, I have to say, until she went on a Zoom meeting, and said that people mustn't be selfish, and then just take the job. And that's the only time she's opened her mouth and 70 years to actually give an opinion about anything. Wow. I'm not impressed. And of course, as I've met her son, Prince Charles and his wife, I used to be part of a crisis helpline service. And one day the he he and his wife came to visit the visit the service called Samaritans. And I thought, You know what it is when you shake someone's hand, and it's a little bit? Yeah. That's Prince Charles, is it? Right? He looks very well. well fed. And well, well, gende up, you know, but I wasn't impressed. Not 31:36  a firm handshake. Ah, he's, he's, 31:38  he's a big shaker remover with Klaus Schwab. 31:41  You know, I mean, we're Christians that are starting to wake up, where are they supposed to go? If there's not a lot of places that really, 31:49  Jesus said, Where two or three are gathered together in my name there? Am I in the midst of you, and we have to start looking at what is the true church? There has to be? I think there's a coming divorce really, with the institution? Yes, you may belong to one of these large churches that all the time has been fantastic, emanating the gifts of the Spirit, preaching the gospel. And then all of a sudden, this, this whole new thing has now come in this globalist aware thing has come in and people are changing. This is what I'm hearing all the time people have, mindsets are changing. And I think the important thing is to seek out people who you can relate to, I mean, there, I lead a small house church. So that's really what I'm doing at the moment, we're only about a dozen people. And there are still people in it that belong to the mainstream churches. But they are the one or two people that have recently joined and found that they haven't been able to relate very easily to the people in their church. And particularly ladies was the only lady in the church wasn't prepared to wear a mask. And they would like to sit here at the back of the church, if she was a leper or something. And then for a friend, one of the brothers is of whose mind, who's my musician, he invited her along. And so it's like the one that adds to the one that adds to the one, as the Lord leads you to speak to one or two people in the church you go to, it may lead you to form a group. And then it's a case of the more the church goes apostate, the more we have to look to what Revelation says, come out of my people. 33:36  So the argument that I can, in my mind, I'm hearing is that, you know, they talk about well, there's a great, there'll be a great falling away. That's right. And I can see well, Where were those people will point to you and say, Well, you're the ones fallen away. And I mean, like that that's a tough pill to swallow. Because I've already experienced that, you know, you're the one falling away, is the church hasn't changed. You've changed your turn, right, I've changed. And the problem I have is it's church didn't change with me because they're not as 34:13  minority. It's the seminar. Yeah. I mean, it's the, as Jesus said, The road is narrow, not many will find it. And if we know that, what the truth is, and even if we're standing with just one or two people, then that is the courage that the Lord has to give us to move to step out and say, Look, you know, show people from the scriptures, what's happening, show them, you know, you can challenge them, that look, these are the current events that are going on, related to Revelation 13 You know, the rest of Revelation where we're going to see some people are jumping the gun a little bit would say this that we have to be careful. And a lot of people that say to me on my comments on the video, oh, you must recognize the jab is the mark of the beast. So look steady on. This is a pyramid. This is this is a growing pyramid of experience, the new things are coming in constantly new technologies, new merge things. biotech, nanotech was kind of stuck. And it's emerging, sort of bit by bit, you know, the Antichrist isn't going to announce himself on TV one day and say, Hello, I'm the Antichrist, you know, I'm gonna be sitting in the temple fairly soon. I don't think that's gonna happen. I think it's a slow process, and the Lord will give discernment to those who are awake. And we're starting to see what John said many antichrist and there are going to be more and more of these people, these runner ups, the harare's these are these are runner ups runners up to the Antichrist, because the Antichrist has to be a political figure, as well, as you know, he has to have strategy. And, I mean, it's possible that the one of the men that we've seen now is the one we don't know yet. We focus so much on the Antichrist. And of course, he also has the False Prophet. And of course, this Satan of the satanic trinity. And 36:22  how do we answer? Because I get this question, you know, I get this comment a lot, you know, well, we all know how it's gonna end. So we don't need to really worry about what's going on. Or, you know, don't pick a fight, because you already you've already won the war. And I'm like, well, it's some, you know, we're the salt and light. So if we don't stand up, which we haven't, and that's why we have all the debased stuff going on in our school systems because Christians haven't stood up. 36:51  No, I mean, tell it to the people in China, who are locked up in their apartment blocks. And, you know, they can't they jumping out of their apartment blocks commit suicide, because they can't stand the lockdowns anymore. The people that have already committed suicide, people who was his son, some of what's going on in the world, we had it on the news the other day, it's now nine 10%, inflation, it's probably double that really. And things are running away. I would say to people look, the train's coming. Look at the inflation rate. Look at look at the state of the of the economics, look at all these things that are happening. Look at the kind of people that we've got in leadership. You know, I mean, as far as I'm concerned, it only takes it must take a fool to believe that Joe Biden got 80 million legitimate votes. 37:40  Well, there's a lot of fools in in, in charge right now. I want to show you I want to show you this chart, because he talked about inflation. And sorry, for those listening on the podcast. Go to my YouTube channel, and you can see what I'm talking about. But check out this. Did you see this chart? Yes. This is the M, the M one money supply? And look at in 2020. We went from willians of dollars in printed money. Yeah. Around four to look at that. In one, one. Less than one year. 38:22  Yeah, that is incredible. We have straight line up. 38:26  Great lineup. And you wonder why and they're blaming it. I mean, this is the biggest lie is that every time you talk, you hear somebody interviewed in the administration? Well, it's because of Putin. You know, it's because of supply and demand. No, it's because you've been printing money like a drunken sailor. Yeah, the prices of real estate in my my area. have just gone sky and young people, there's no way that the average home is $400,000. And about three years ago, it was probably half that. And how are these kids, these young people or anybody about matter? How any of these people gonna be able to afford a house. And here's the funny news. 39:14  I don't want you to afford a house. 39:17  Because while Schwab has already told us that has any 39:21  This is the game, isn't it? The globalist systems is one way. But you see these even these men are puppets. This is satanic. You see, this is they've been moving this office for SWAT for decades, goes back centuries, doesn't it? This this plan, it moves us people die and as new people come in, this is how the enemy is working his way up 39:43  to as you said, the church has been asleep through it all. 39:47  Yeah, I was watching something of video the other day. I think it was Australia where they created this new housing area of what rental apartments and people are saying how wonderful it is to Rent, don't have the city of having my own property. And these are wealthy people that are prepared to rent properties. 40:10  In it in history when when civilizations or nations fall that the rich begin to gather up the land, and take the land and own land. And we're seeing a lot of that happening now is that the rich are buying up land, Bill Gates owns the largest amount of farmland in America, Bezos owns the bunch of it. So if you start looking at all these billionaires, they're putting their money in the land, and who's going to own the land? And who's going to rent, you know, and I'm thinking about my grandchildren. If we have any, you know, if we make it that far, there's an urgency to our culture right now. That I'm not seeing in the church. And that's, that's the biggest thing that bothers me is we're not seeing it in the voice of the church, in the leadership of the church. And I know people get tired to hear me rail about the church been, we're the only ones that can solve the spiritual problem. No, I can. But I mean, we're the vessel that is to address this, 41:26  making them aware of what's actually happening. The sight of people that are you aware of what's happening with the farmers, I'm hearing things like we're getting paid to destroy crops? And what, what do they want to replace it with, obviously, with genetically modified food. It's just seems unbelievable that farmers aren't prepared to do that. 41:49  It's like David and Goliath. You know, that giant is so huge, and you've got the world land up against this giant, and we're all just standing there, I'm just gonna live my life, I'm not gonna worry about it, I'm just gonna do my thing. And it can all go to heck in a handbasket. 42:09  That thing is going to come to an end that don't realize that that as inflation grows, and as the situation tightens, that when it's only possibly when people feel the circumstances, right, starting to affect their lives, that they can't do what they did before. And the restrictions come in different forms, you know, maybe climate lock downs or something like that. And that people then will start to see because they they will expose themselves, and they're doing that, then, I think as that happens, and they start to get affected, and they see that it will affect their children. And I think with the education thing, I think it needs to be highlighted more and more. 42:51  The default Epoch Times. 42:54  You know, I've received emails from them, but I haven't spent a lot of time looking at 42:59  them. Yeah, that is my news source. I'm telling you, they do some excellent news. And they really focus on Channel law. And then they just did I just saw a a piece yesterday. You talked about siege warfare. It's it's there is a concerted planned effort by China to attack America on all fronts. I mean, you're in they listed there's like 37 fronts that they're attacking assault technology. I can't remember that. But if anything in culture, you can think about being attacked. They've got a plan to attack, because they want to be the number one dominant country in the world. And they first have to take down America. And they go into great detail about how they're doing this. You know, the great the silk, China's Silk Road. Have you ever heard that one? Yeah. Yeah. Where they're buying up ports all around the world. And they tried bombed the LA port in Los Angeles. And luckily, we kicked them out of that one. Yeah. So if we just pay attention to China, we will know what's coming our way because our president has his connections. They're so 44:13  cool. She has these Ukrainian connections as well. 44:17  So I guess we're gonna be wrapping up here, but how do we proceed? I know for one thing yell go to the of our time is, for our time messages for our time. YouTube channel, the steward is it's a really refreshing view. You know, I love the accent that always helps. You know, if I'm listening to my Bible app, I gotta get an English guy to, you know, to read it for me. You always go back to the Bible, you're always bringing in verses you're bringing in. You're bringing in the Word of God into your messages, and that's very refreshing. It's very helpful to it's encouraging. 44:52  Good things come out of lockdowns See, hadn't been for the lockdown. We wouldn't have been able to start our house church and and And then the channel wouldn't have happened really? 45:02  Are we in a time of judgment? Do you feel like they were actually in a time of judgment? 45:10  Yes, I think that Well, I certainly think the leaders that we've got we system, nations deserve the leaders they get. And I mean, Trump did a lot of good. Unfortunately, he was, I feel he was ignorant to a lot of stuff in his promotion of a vaccine and not getting rid of certain people. And I think that, yeah, I just think that we have to be aware that there will be all kinds of voices in these days, leading us into all sorts of directions. And I think possibly, people put their trust in man, a little bit too much. But yeah, we get the leaders we deserve. And I think there is a judgement. I mean, I come across YouTube channels of people prophesying all kinds of destruction for the Western world. Of course, you don't want to really receive it. And so you know, and yet there are people speaking with authoritative voice, of real judgment of real destruction of third world war. We can only go one day at a time, really. And I think in the end, it comes down to when the Ark door is closing. Are we on the inside? And how many people can we help inside? Before it does close? And there'll be a remnant saved and says it will be with Israel will be a remnant saved? 46:39  Because we are in a days of no army? Yeah, 46:43  well, this is, as it were, in the days of Noah. And, you know, we just have to get more and more awareness, more and more discipline, because truth and lies will get closer together. You know, there'll be weaving winter weaving all the time, and we have to be able to discern the difference. 47:05  One thing I one thing I experienced, was, as I was kind of on this continued journey of figuring out, you know, is it a break away from the church? Is it? Am I wrong and thinking the way I do because of what happened in 2020. And then you can run across voices, like you said, there's certain voices out there that just tend to bash people that you see a lot. And and so I imagine, you know, if you're a new Christian, that's coming into this, and you're seeing this dividing line, the split between people within the congregation, just the back and forth of, you know, like me saying that, that we need to be what we won't need wake up. Well, then another guy saying, What do you mean, wake up, I just woke up. But now you're in the system of the organized, happy go lucky church. And you're just partially woke up? I guess, you know, thank goodness, you found Jesus. But there's, when you get into this this, like, oh, my gosh, how can anybody rely or feel like Jesus is going to solve the problem when the church is all messed up? Does that make sense? I mean, yeah, I think has to go back to an individual relationship. 48:24  Yeah, it is. It's that and even men that you may have trusted, or women you may have trusted over many years that, as it says, as we said earlier, and Thessalonians is a great falling away, and many will turn away from from sound doctrine and follow doctrines of devils. And it's happening to churches as well. I mean, Hillsong Church, we've seen what's happened to that with our pastors. So the downfall of these vast organizations. So I think that's, yeah, we just have to be clearly aware of what's happening. And it starts with, with with us, our individual walk, and then people will be attracted to the truth if they see the truth. 49:12  Because we are, we're in a war. We're in a heavy spiritual war. And we need to have the mindset of that warrior. And, and I think you're one of the generals out there on YouTube, that's, that's helping lead the charge. And just want to thank you and bless you for just what you do every day, you know, just given the word given your perspective and your understanding. And so I guess we'll wrap it up here, but still, it's been a pleasure. We could talk all day I'm sure. 49:48  We're having man. Appreciate it. 49:51  Thank you. Go check out his his site, and I think you've got your email on there if they want to reach out to you You can put it in show notes if you want as well, candy. Okay. Bless you, sir. Thank you. Join Tina, Wendy and Jay answering this weeks questions which include: I am currently researching some words that are defined a little different in some of the newer versions. But as I was doing this, I looked at the 1599 Geneva Bible in Isaiah 13:21 and it included the word “lim” as an animal. I cannot find any information on this; maybe you won't either, but I am asking the question: “Do you know what a ‘lim' is? But nothing is known about Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas" is stated on your website, but what about the tradition that says Prochorous was bishop of Nicomedia appointed by S. John and was also his scribe. What is the source for this tradition. Similarly there is a tradition about Parmenas; he preached in Asia Minor and was bishop of Soli (a city either in Cilicia, or Cyprus). I am interested in knowing the source of these traditions and their authenticity; would appreciate it if you could help. Thnx. What does it mean to take God's name in vain? A pastor on YouTube said that saying G..D.. means that you are asking God to curse something or someone. Is that true, and if so, would He? If He did what would that look like? Aren't we protected by God from our enemies? It seems to me that certain words were not said by Christians when I was growing up, but now are seen as just meaningless words. I'm sorry if this is a lot. Thanks. How can I change and be sure I am saved for years I have been asking the Lord into my heart and also been water Baptized many times but keep going back to my old ways what is wrong with me!!!! Why can't I change be filled with the Holly Spirit!!!In spite of what happened in the garden of Eden, have Adam and Eve been saved and are they in heaven now?

This is the authors edition. This is the written version of the movie. This will not be rewritten, edited or rehearsed. The bloopers will remain. This is real life made on lifetime movie network. Picture this A long time ago I was named Jesus Christ. I reincarnated and came back as a girl. I was a hemorphodite. You know. A Real Unicorn. It used to hang. And I never shaved my pubic hair so they thought my thang was a tail. Naw bruh. That wasn't no tail. That was my thing. My dingle ling. Ya know how they say. “Hung like horse” well they got that from me. They used to say “Hung like a unicorn” I mean listen I was a girl but understand what I'm telling u.That time when I was Jesus Christ I reincarnated as a girl with green eyes and gold hair and a care bear nose. my donkey ass shook like jello jigglers. Listen the Bible don't even talk about the time I came back as a hermaphrodite no where. I mean wassup with that. You got to be kidding. All the miracles I gave y'all night after night. I brought the moon out over and over and over again and y'all mother f ers can't even tell me thank you for the moon tonight. Cuss I mean shit even tho I'm Jesus Christ don't believe the hype. The Bible well let's say this. They left out some stuff. Somebody added in some stuff. Then they took the words that mean vagina and changed it to the words that means penis. King mean lioness. The real queen was sleeping beauty. The lion. And who is running around collecting my royalties from the Books I wrote. And where is my original copy. I named my book after my vagina. I called my vagina “the Bible” it means “it's the truth”. Somebody changed my story of Adam and Eve. Ooh excuse me. Who told y'all to do that. When I wrote the story of my life my name was Jesus Christ but that time I was a girl with a penis and a vagina, they called me weird. But I knew in my heart that I was a beautiful mother f n unicorn. I was on all fours and they was teasing me cuss god made me different and they was jealous. They was Jealous because I was a stallion. I was born with gold hair and green eyes. They tooK one look at me and said “wtf is wrong with that baby” “it got a vagina and a penis” and they didn't like what god had made the day I born. Sooo I mutated immediately before they could blink their eyes I went into disguise. I huffed and I puffed and I took one deep breathe in and I sucked that penis right back up in my vagina and I hid it away so nobody could see it. I remember when I was in the womb. I heard them saying that I will be a boy or a girl. But wassup with that. This lifetime god sent me back as both. And I'm in the womb hearing that the doctors are killing the children born hermorphodite. So I hid my penis When I was born. Eve was born from Adam's rib because that lifetime…Adam was both. He had a vagina and a penis… and he pleased his self and one day he got pregnant because he was a unicorn that lifetime. A hermorphodite. When he gave birth it was disgusting. They called his baby a “cabbage patch kid” because when Adam the hermorphodite gave birth after impregnating himself.. his penis exploded on impact. And his penis looked like a snake that swallowed a watermelon. When the other men heard what Adam had done they yelled out “God damn it Adam” all the people where men and they all were named Adam. They all responded as one. They were all hermorphodites. They pleased their self with their own vagina and penis. But god told Adam. “don't bust or else” and you know what Adam didn't listen. Thats what I'm tryna tell you. They left that part out. Mary too… she was one too. She was a virgin but that just means that she was only touching herself…. Nobody else. It's a tough situation because when you're a hermorphodite it's like pushing an apple down your throat. So god made Adam's apple to remind him to stop f n his self. Adam kept busting over and over again and kept getting hisself pregnant and it was disgusting to watch. $lovesharnae on cashapp --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/cqcsos/message

Good morning, Five Minute Families! This past weekend we hosted a marriage retreat here at Clear View Retreat. Marriage retreats are so restful and rejuvenating. Why does a family camp ministry such as ours spend time hosting marriage retreats? Because a strong, godly marriage is the foundation of a strong, godly family just as we said in the three-part series about marriage we did last year. The great thing about spending time with other couples, whether they are in a norm or storm of life - is that we get to glean new ways of applying God's relationship principles. This weekend one wife shared how she really liked how her husband had begun asking her “Stop. Start. Continue.” questions. I had never heard of that. A quick internet search shows several websites that focus on team building activities, such as one called Retrium. That site describes this communication skill this way: “Start Stop Continue is a simple technique for an action-oriented retrospective meeting.” In a marital relationship, we should never run our conversations like the Board room; however, we want to take this concept that has been researched and used successfully in team building and current business management practices and relate it to the family unit. Communicating with one another is at the heart of all relationships. And, communicating effectively can be hindered by many things. No matter how much we study our spouse in order to deepen our relationship, we cannot read their minds. We might get pretty good at reading their nonverbal communication and thus it seems we are good at reading their minds, but it just isn't actually possible. We are not God. One way for a couple to simplify communication when there are many distractions around is to adopt the “Stop. Start. Continue.” method of giving and receiving feedback. Of course, please remember this great biblical principle from Colossians 4:6 before you just simply let your feedback fly: “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.” So, onto the particulars of “Stop. Start. Continue.” Stop Ask your loved one, “In our relationship, what would you like me to stop doing?” Make sure that you each understand if the action being stopped is to be temporary or permanent. If you are confused by your loved one's answer, it is ok to ask further questions as to why or how. Make sure, however, that you do not get offended or that if you begin to feel offended, you ask for either clarification or a break from the conversation to pray about the hurt. We are not to lie to one another, so if your family member is asking you to stop something, you need to be open to receiving their honest answer.   Start Next, ask your spouse, “What would you like me to start doing?” Proverbs 25:11 tells us that “[a] word spoken at the right time is like gold apples in silver settings.” When your spouse asks, take this opportunity, this “right time” to be transparent about something you would like your spouse to do for you. Continue Now, ask your spouse, “What would you like me to continue doing?” Applying Proverbs 16:23: “The heart of a wise person instructs his mouth; it adds learning to his speech.” we see that we have a chance to build up and give encouragement to our spouse when they have been doing something well.   Two great “But God” truths that should be foundational in all of our relationships that join well with the three points of the “Stop. Start. Continue.” technique are:  1.    We must think well of our spouse because God is in them. When two people are walking with the Lord, indwelled with the Holly Spirit, truly, the best in them is God. So, as you look on your loved one, remember that you are looking upon one of God's children. 2.    And, remember to think well of yourself. We are often toughest on ourselves, but God lives in us as Christ-followers and while we may need...

Audio Transcript: We're back. Hallelujah. Praise you Jesus. I've gotten a lot more charismatic over the past six months. Praising God. Hallelujah. Praise you Jesus. I'm so glad we're back. Welcome if you're new to Mosaic, we'd love to connect with you. We do that through a digital card and either on the website or in the app. We are still in our sermon series in the book of Luke transitioning soon. With that said, would you please pray with me over the preaching of God's holy word.Heavenly father what a good father you are, you're a father to us corporately and you're a father to us individually. And we thank you for adopting us into your family because of the work of your son, Jesus Christ. Jesus you are our older brother. You are our Lord and savior. You paved the path for us. You made the way for us to follow you and follow you into the presence of God the father by the power of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit we pray today, we ask for more of you. Jesus, you promised that when we ask more of the Holy Spirit from the father that you love to give good gifts to your children. The greatest gift you can give us is the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit fill us now. Holy Spirit, I pray that you convict us of sin, whatever sin that has beguiled us. Whatever sin that is controlling us. I pray today remove it.Give us a glimpse of the holiness of God. Show us God how immense your holiness is. How much higher you are than us. I pray today that you deepen our reverence for you, a fear of you, a good healthy fear that keeps us from sin, keeps us from doing anything that would hurt our relationship with you. I pray, Lord, bless our time the Holly Spirit and the holy scriptures by the spirit and Holy Spirit continue to protect us from the evil one, from the demonic we live in a true spiritual war. And I pray remind us of that. Remind us that prayer is actually the way that we fight. Sometimes we think that prayer is a waste of time, that prayer doesn't accomplish anything. It accomplishes everything. So we appeal to you Holy Spirits today come and today remind us that there's nothing more important than sitting at the feet of Jesus, taking your word in, being transformed by your word, and then going out and living in a manner worthy of the gospel of Jesus Christ and continuing to preach the gospel. Share the good news with those who are still captive. And I pray release many in this next season and we pray all this in Christ holy name, amen. The title of the sermon today is rest at his feet. We'll be looking at the story of Martha and Mary. And usually the story is presented in such way that Mary is sat at the feet of Jesus. Martha was too busy. Don't be like Martha, be more like Mary. And I think it's a little deeper than that. There's more layers than that. I share the story about my dad often. I'll share a story by my mom. My mom... So I come from Slavic family, in Slavic families hospitality is all important. And if you have guests over, you have to present all of your food, not just a little food, all the food you have. The store, the table has to be and the rest of the phrase is, it has to be breaking. It has to be almost collapsing under the weight. And my mom is tremendous at this. She's so good at this. She's not good at just creating the food and making the dishes and a lot of salads, a lot of meat, a lot of potatoes, but she's also really good at presenting it beautifully. So with the salads, like she'll cut up the cucumber or the radish or something and she'll make a flower out of it. Just sprinkled parsley, just perfectly. It's always incredible. And one of the things that I noticed even growing up it's you'd would never sit down with us. She would cook and she's running around just to make sure that everyone has enough and they've had seconds and thirds and fourths, and she would never sit down. And then when the guests would leave, she would just crash and then get mad at us.What do we do? She's like, "Oh, you should've helped." I'm like, "We are..." And I didn't really understand that frustration until we had kids. And now we have a family of six. We have four kids, my wife and I. I know what it takes to just feed my kids to the magical restaurant table for six, please. I know how hard that is. And then you got more people. And that's kind of what's going on with Martha. She wants to serve Jesus. She wants to please Jesus. She wants to show Jesus how much he loves her. And food is her love language. Hospitality is the way that she thinks and Jesus stomach's is the way to get his heart. And she kind of misses the point where Jesus is at the end of his life. And he knows that his time on earth is limited and he just wants to spend time with her. He just wants to sit there. So that's what the text is. It shows us, reminds us what's most important. It reprioritizes things in our life. So today we are in Luke 10:38 through Luke 11:13. Would you look at the text with me. Luke 10:38, now, as they went on their way Jesus entered a village and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving and she went up to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me." But the Lord answered her. "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her."Now, Jesus was praying in a certain place. And when he finished one of his disciples said to him, "Lord teach us to pray as John taught his disciples." And he said to them, "When you pray, say, Father, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation." And he said to them, "Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him friend lend me three loaves for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey and I have nothing to set before him." And he will answer from within, "Do not bother me the door's now shut and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything." I tell you though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs. And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be open to you, for everyone who asks receives and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. What father among you if his son asks for a fish will instead of a fish, give him a serpent. Or if he asks for an egg will give him a scorpion. If you then who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children how much more will the heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him? This is the reading of God's holy, inerrant, infallible, authoritative word. May he write these eternal truths upon our hearts. Three points to frame up our time. First, listen to God intently. Second, talk to God relationally, and third ask of God audaciously.First of all, listened to God intently. Luke 10:38. Now, as they went on their way Jesus entered a village and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. So the family is Mary, Martha. We don't know where their parents are. Most likely they passed away that's why they haven't been mentioned. It's Martha's house. Most likely Martha is the oldest. Martha then there's Mary and they have a brother named Lazarus. So that's the family. Jesus was friends with them. He's friends with Mary, Martha and Lazarus. And this is really important because in the age old question is can men and women be friends. And I would submit to you that apart from Jesus Christ, there's always going to be some weird tension where it's never like too many... But with Jesus Christ, we're not just friends we're siblings. We're siblings, we're brothers and sisters. So we can have sibling relationships in the faith because Jesus Christ comes and he takes away our sin and gives us the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome our sins. So Jesus did not have a home. He actually said, the son of man doesn't have a place to rest his head. So he would be blessed, receive blessings from gospel, patrons or people who were blessed financially. And they opened up their home to him. So Martha welcomes him and the disciples. How many disciples of did Jesus have? 13 or 12? So with Jesus, 13. 13 grown men just rolled into your house. You are not expecting, did they call? Of course not, text message at least? No, nothing. Mail pigeon? No, nothing, nothing. They roll in and they're hungry. They just ministered all day. Now, I'll tell you this. Has anyone had 13 men over their house to eat? Am kind of afraid when my brother comes to my house. One grown man, like I need to go shopping just for him. Just for that little, we had burgers this week, he down three burgers gone, and then he was looking at the last one. I'm like, "Come on, man. You can't do that. That's my second one." So just do the math. So they come to his house and Mary loves to serve. Mary loves to care. This is her love language. She wanted to create a feast for Jesus. She wants to practice hospitality. It takes time. It's hard. Cooking back then was so much harder than is cooking today. You couldn't just go to the Stop & Shop at Trader Joe's. You don't have a gas stove. It's so much harder. She feels all this pressure. So she's doing that and what's her sister doing? Luke 10:39. And she has a sister called Mary who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. And usually at this point in the sermon, you say, okay, don't be like Martha, be like Mary. But I don't think that's what's going on here. Because scripture talks about faith and works. We're saved by grace through faith. When there is sin in our lives and the Lord draws us to himself we repent of our sin, of our righteousness, of our bad works, of our good works, that we try to do in order to gain salvation. We repent of all that by grace through faith, we're saved because of the work of Jesus Christ. Now, we're called the good works. It's faith and works. It's like two paddles of a rowboat. It's like two pedals on a bike. They're together. We are to worship and we are to work, we are to take God's word and translate that into work. So that's not what's going on here. What's going on here is something deeper. It's a re-prioritization. Martha you invited me into your home and you didn't ask me how I am. You didn't even ask me how I'm doing. Perhaps Mary was better at the EQ emotional intelligence. She saw that Jesus was burdened. She saw that Jesus had set his face to Jerusalem. He knew these were his last day. So Jesus started teaching. He started teaching. She sits at his feet. Most likely he's standing. And by the way, this is interesting. Judaism didn't forbid explicitly that wouldn't be instructed in the Torah, but it was unheard of for a rabbi to allow a woman to sit at his feet, because that meant that she is one of his disciples and she's sitting there. She's listening. Later Rabbinic tradition includes quotations such as may the words of the Torah be burned, they should not be handed over to women. So they're saying rather than teach a woman the Torah, we prefer burning it. And Jesus rejected these outright unbiblical attitudes. And you see Mary's posture here. It expresses her desire to learn. She's sitting at his feet intently listening. There's also an aspect of worship, of adoration. She's absorbing the words. Soaking in the information, this focus, this rapt attention. She loves the teacher, therefore she loves the content, therefore she's absorbing it. There's an incredible connection between love and learning. In particular when it comes to God. This has to do with any subject. I'll just give you an example, if you're a musician and you love the song, you don't have to sit there and memorize the lyrics. They just stick to your brain. You know what I'm saying? I can give you lots of examples of songs that I've memorized, but they shouldn't have been memorized. That was a long time ago, I'm redeemed. But you know what I'm saying? And with children, you see this with children, children come into the world with all. And because they have all their minds are open. They absorb information. This week we found out that our youngest daughter Milana... We speak Russian at home. We found out that she knows English. And my second daughter, Elizabeth, she started asking her questions in English, she said, "Touch your nose." She was like. "Touch your ear." "Give me a cookie."They just absorb the information? And I say this because love and learning about God, they're so intertwined. Last week we talked about the great commandment. There are two great commandments. One is love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind. There's a way to love God with your mind. When you love God, you love what he teaches. You love his word and his word sticks to your mind. I had a conversation recently with a sister who said, I get bored reading the Bible. I have a hard time reading. I fall asleep and I said, "When you're dating someone and you receive a text message or you receive an email or even a voicemail, you listen to that voicemail, no other voicemails." There's something about love and learning. And she's sitting there. She loves the subject because she loves the God who's speaking this word. But Martha verse 40 was distracted with much serving, she went up to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me." Fascinating, fascinating. She's distracted. She hears perhaps a little bit of what Jesus is teaching. And this is probably going on for hours. And she's distracted by the serving. She wants to please God. She wants to please Jesus. She wants to show him how much she loves him. And she's distracted scripture says so much so she actually gets irritated. And what does she do? She goes to Jesus. And she says, "Lord, do you not care? Do you not care? I'm slaving away in this kitchen. And my sister sitting there listening to you talk, do you not care?"I wonder if in this season you've asked the Lord that question. Lord, I'm serving you so much in the season. And I'm kind of out of fuel, do you not care. It's kind of accusatory. She's known Jesus. She's known his teaching. She's seen his miracles. She's accusing him and so much so that she says, "Lord, tell her, tell her then to help me, tell her." She's telling God what to do. There's a lot to unpack here. First of all, I'm going to say that Martha is... I think Martha's from New England. She's very blunt, from Boston. I get this from this text in John 11 where Jesus is about to resurrect Lazarus. And then Martha is like, "Hold on Jesus. Don't roll the rockaway yet, he's been there in there four days, I've done the math. It's going be a foul odor"In the King James it says, "I think he stinketh. My brother's stinketh." She's absolutely blunt, this is what's on her heart. And I love this part about, she goes to Jesus with her aggravation, with her anxiety, with her doubt. "Do you not care?" I'm sure you've been in the situation where you're working hard and you see someone who isn't and it's hard for a person who's working to understand the person who's not in particular when it comes to studying scripture and prayer. And you're like, hold on. Because when you're doing work for God, you think that's the most important thing. When you're studying God's word and praying you think that's the most important thing, but the scripture isn't pitting them against each other. It's re-organizing, re-prioritizing, what comes first?Above everything seek first the kingdom of God. The first thing you got to do is pray. The first thing you got to do is listen to God's word. God doesn't want our leftovers, he wants our first fruits. Before our work for him he wants the adoration of our heart. The other thing I will just point out here, Martha took herself too seriously. She thought if I do not be feed Jesus, Jesus will not be fed. If I do not feed Jesus' disciples, Jesus' disciples will not be fed. I am very important. My work is very important. I am actually indispensable to Jesus in his ministry. If I were not here, they would all die. So I'm going to go back to work. And there's a lesson here. The lesson is thinking like that, that I am indispensable, that's prideful. God does not need any of us. It's a miracle he would use any of us.And that should humble us that we get to serve the Lord. She overestimated her importance. And when you do that, then your work becomes burdensome. And this applies to every single aspect of life. Being a spouse can be a burdensome ministry. If it's not done in the power of the spirit. Being a parent could be a burdensome ministry. Being a friend can be a burdensome ministry where you're like, I need to save this person. No, you don't. Jesus can save that person. My job is to point this person to Jesus. There's stuff going on, her heart's not in the right place. And Jesus just needs to reorder a few things. And that's really what salvation is. Salvation is God reordering loves in our life. You might be loving a good thing more than the greatest thing which is Jesus and that pulls you away from him.Luke 10:41 and 42, but the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion of which will not be taken away from her." I love this answer. If you study Hebrew and Aramaic and then Jesus spoke, he was in the world of all three languages, including Greek. Whenever a name is repeated twice, it's for emphasis and it's for affection. You see this as King David talking about his son, "Absalom, Absalom." When his son had betrayed him. And here Jesus say, "Oh, Mary, Mary." I use this to my kids when I want to emphasize my love for them but also they've done something that they shouldn't have. "Sophia, Sophia." That's what I do, "Liza Liza. Katia, Katia. Milana Milana." And they're smart kids. And whenever I mess up or do something stupid, Sophia, her favorite thing is, "Oh Papa, Papa" Same thing. That's what he's doing. There's affection here, but it's like, I want to correct you, speaking truth in love. And he repeats her name and what did he say? He says, you're anxious and troubled about too many things. You've allowed secondary things to push out the primary thing. And that primary thing is actually the thing that gives you energy to do the secondary things. And that's why you're so anxious. And you're so distressed and troubled. So come back to the one thing that's necessary. It's the only thing that's truly necessary. You can just strip everything else away. But the only thing that's truly necessary is God. It's spending time in his word. It's nourishing our souls with his word. It's listening to him and speaking to him. There's nothing more important. That's the highest priority for Christ's servants, that's highest priority for all of us. And we forget this.Sometimes you get to the point... And my wife and I we have this conversation. I'm like, "Baby, I see you're stressed out. When's the last time did you spend time in the scripture state?" "I don't have time to spend time in the scriptures. I've got to feed them breakfast." We have that conversation. And then I say, "Why don't you wake up earlier?" And that never goes well. So I got to feed them breakfast. But there is that time I got way too much to do to read scripture. I got way too much to do is spend time in prayer. I got too many other things and we actually lose the fuels source. We lose the power of the spirit. So dear believers sit at the feet of Jesus. Sit at his feet, this is not less than scripture, we have to read scripture, but it's more than scripture. So the God that wrote his word, we read it, we study it, we meditate, we listen to his cadence and Jesus said, my sheep know my voice. And then when you know his voice from the scriptures, you hear him speaking in life by the power of the spirit. Sometimes he speaks through people. Sometimes he speaks through event, but he's with us, he's always with us. We can sit at his feet and rest in him. The only thing that's truly necessary, it's necessary in sickness, in health, adversity, prosperity, in life and death here and eternity. I wonder if Martha listened to this rebuke. By the way, hearing a rebuke from the Lord, hearing a rebuke from anyone, it does not feel good. You think Martha, after serving, slaving away for hours like to be rebuked. I wonder if she even sat down for the meal. It's like here, you can finish roasting the lamb yourself. But I think she took it to heart. How do I know this? Remember when her brother Lazarus died and Jesus delayed coming on purpose so that he could glorify himself by resurrecting Lazarus. And Martha comes to him with the same blunt straight to the point voice. John 11:21-27. Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you." Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise is again." Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection in the last day." Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life whoever believes in me though he die yet shall he live and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die, do you believe this?"And she said to him, "Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Christ the son of God who was coming into the world." Why is this important? It's one of only two great confessions of the identity of Jesus Christ in all of the new Testament. The first came through lifts of Peter. He says, "I know who you are. You are Christ the son of the living God." And then on the lifts of Martha, you are the Messiah. You're the son of God. You're the Christ. She got it. Because she realized that the only one thing is necessary. She made that her good portion. God blessed her with this great revelation, the great confession. And then Mary, of course, she kept to the one thing to the end.John 12:1-2, six days before the Passover Jesus therefore came to Bethany where Lazarus was whom Jesus had raised from the dead. So this is immediately after. So they gave a dinner for him there. Martha served, again, she's serving and what's Lazarus doing? Lazarus was one of those reclining with him at table. Here, I'd be like, "Lazarus why aren't you helping your sister." But he just died. He just came back from the dead. That takes a lot out of you. So Martha is working, hopefully Mary's helping. Then Mary puts everything down. She walks, she took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. And that house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. She realized by this point, not only is this the only thing that's necessary this is also the most precious thing there is. This is the most precious one there is. She knows she's in the presence of treasure and she wants to give her greatest treasure.Something that's probably worth tens of thousands of dollars, a family heirloom. And she wants to pour out her devotion on Christ. Therefore preparing him for burial. And John 12:4-8, how did the disciples react? Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, he who was about to betray him said, "Why was this ointment not sold for 300 denari and given to the poor?" He said this not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief and having charge of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it. Jesus said, "Leave her alone so that she may keep it for the day of my burial for the poor you always have with you but you did not always have me."And you see the juxtaposition in the text that one of the disciples Judas does not see Jesus for who he is, though he heard all of his teaching, saw the miracles and he doesn't realize that this is the greatest treasure in the world. Instead, the treasurer is stealing from the treasure Treasure because adultery, because of money, because of greed. And that's what led him to betray Christ. Instead, you've got these two sisters. One gives the great confession. The other one gives a great, great anointing. And it's all because they kept the main thing the main thing.Second of all, talk to God relationally. So listen to God intently and then talk to God relationally. Now, Jesus was praying in a certain place. And when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray as John taught his disciples." What's fascinating here is why do they wait until Luke chapter 11 to ask Jesus how to pray? This is the end of Jesus' ministry. This is probably the third year, for two years nobody asked, why. I think partially because they just assumed they knew how to pray. They grew up in Hebrew culture. They grew up going into the temple. They grew up going to synagogues, but they realized that Jesus prayed in a categorically different way than everyone else around them. Everyone else chanted or recited or just had these wrote memorized prayers. Jesus prayed intensely fervently, relationally. And why do they ask? On the one hand, prayer is easy. A child can pray. When you're at your wit's end, when you've got nothing, no other strength you pray. But also prayer's hard, prayer is strenuous. It's taxing of energy, of power, of focus, of emotion physically. And then you leave prayer filled spiritual. There's something there, it's so natural, it doesn't need to be taught or you can spend your whole life studying it. Why do they ask here, because they understand that the spiritual warfare is just dialing up as Jesus is about to go to the cross as this hostility coming at him. And they realized that Jesus prayers are more and more fervent he's spending more and more time in prayer because Jesus knows he's about to enter the most cosmic battle there ever was on the cross with Satan.John Piper said, you don't know what prayer is for until you know that life is war. That's why they got ask. They're like, I don't think I'm doing it right. I don't think I'm really struggling in prayer. So Jesus does pray. He teaches them. And then he talks about how to do audaciously. And he said to them, verse two, when you pray, say father hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, give us each day our daily bread and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us, and lead us not into temptation. Perhaps you're like this isn't the Lord's prayer that I've had memorized because the one you have memorized is probably from Matthew six, The Sermon on the Mount. The reason why Jesus gives two different ones is to show us it's not about the magic formula of saying these words about the content, it's about the framework. It begins with father. In The Sermon on the Mount Jesus says our father to emphasize the God his father of all Christians here is just father to emphasize that God is father of people individually because by grace through faith, because of the work of Jesus Christ on the cross, we are adopted into the family of God. So we can come to God on our own. You don't need to pray to God through another person. You don't need someone to mediate through. You can pray on you. You can go to God the father on your own. Yes, he's King. Yes, he's great. But he's also father, dear father. Galatians and Romans calls him Father abba, abba father, dearest father. Some people say daddy, I'm like, ah, I'm just going to add a little more reverence to that. Dearest father, you're my dearest father to begin prayer with that it's relational.Though it's relational, though he's a personal father he's still God. He's still God, hallowed be your name. May your name be holy. It is holy, but may your name be holy in my life, on my lips, in my heart. May your name be holy, maybe revered and feared and worshiped in this city, in my family, in my community. I think a lot of Christians are missing this. They're missing the holiness of God. For a lot of people, God is a buddy. God he's just a friend. God is someone who will always forgive your sin. So it doesn't matter how you live. Now, it doesn't matter how you live. God so much hate sin that he... Look at the cross. Look what it takes to get sin forgiven. Takes a son dying on the cross for us.And I think our generation is missing this reverence. This awe that the God who created everything and in him all things hold together. We sin against him on a daily basis. We forget him. We've got a spiritual amnesia. We do things that he told us not to do. We don't do the things that he told us to.I think part of it is in an attempt to share God's love with people we try to hide the true nature of God. We try to hide what he's really taught. What he's really taught about gender. What he's really taught about sexuality. What he's really taught about family. What he's really taught about the most important things in life. I'll just give you an example. This just happened this week, Lifeway, which is usually their great publisher, they publish a lot of great stuff, devotionals, and Bibles. They came up with the Bible Devo, which is a Bible devotional, but it's called a Bible Devo for generation Z. And this is how they translate John 1:1. John, 1:1 goes like this, in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. Okay, that's John 1:1. This is how they translate.Since day uno, there was cap G, big Jay was chilling with cap G and big J was cap G. Someone made an executive decision that that's a good idea. Some read that and like, yeah. Okay, generation D, let's go get them. First of all it was blasphemous. This is just bad theology. I don't know anyone gen Z who calls God cap G, big J. It's all to say that God is still God. And in prayer we need to know, yes hollowed be your name, may your name be holy. Your name is holy. So remind us to pursue holiness. Your kingdom come. Jesus rule in my heart. Jesus I submit everything to you. I yield everything to you. May your kingdom come in my life. May your kingdom come into my relationships, in my decision, in everything. And as you pray that you got to say is Jesus King over this decision, is Jesus King over this relationship, is Jesus King over my desires, over my affection, over my thoughts, over my thoughts, over my entertainment choices. Is Jesus King right now, as he's sitting on his throne over what I am doing is he's reigning over everything. So the prayer begins with God. It's vertical then we begin to ask for what we need. Give us each day our daily bread, everything comes from God. We're fully dependent. Relying, he's talking about physical bread and spiritual bread, and you're not just praying for bread for yourself, but for others. Not just give me my bread, give me our bread. So you're cognizant of other's needs and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us.Give me bread. Forgive me, give me grace and give me grace to extend grace to others and lead us not into temptation. What an interesting turn of phrase. Have you ever meditated on that? Why should we ask God not to lead us into temptation? Why would we have to ask God not lead us into temptation? Does God tempt us? No, of course not. James 1:13-14. Let no one say when he is tempted, I'm being tempted by God for God cannot be tempted with evil and he himself tempts no one, but each person is tempted when he's lured and enticed by his own desire. So God doesn't tempt us and God doesn't lead us to temptation to leave us in temptation. But there is a sense in which God allows temptation to happen. And he actually leads us through that temptation.Because God is with us we're sealed by the power of the Holy Spirit. God is in us. Sometimes God does to test us, lead us to temptation and through temptation. And the way that he leads us through temptation is for us to cling to him, to hold onto him, to recognize that he will never give us temptation without giving us an exit strategy. That's first Corinthians 10:13, no temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape that you may be able to endure it. Now, I've always understood that like, okay, you're in temptation, God has allowed this temptation in your life and he will give you an exit. And you have to take that exit by yourself. That's not what's going on because a Christian has the power of the Holy Spirit in him. So God is always with us.So when he's giving us the exit strategy, he's leading us to it and through it, this is really important. This is how I think of it. I think of it temptation comes. I'm tied to a chair in a warehouse building and the Lord comes like a navy seal. Repels onto the roof from a helicopter, comes down and he's rescuing me. I don't know if for some reason the image that comes as Jack Ryan. I like it so much because the transformation from Jim Jack Ryan will happen with that. So he's leading me out, but he's saying stay close, stay close, stay close. I know where the exit is, stay close. Now, that metaphor doesn't work. Like most metaphors don't work. So got to broaden it. It's not bullets there. They don't look like bullets. They don't look like bullets.Temptation never comes in the form of a bullet. It comes in the form of something tasty, something attractive. There's a seductive siren song of voices around us pulling us away from the one who says, I know where the exit is. Follow me, stay close to me. Don't stay here. Don't give into that temptation because you're going to come out stronger. And when you come out stronger, you'll be able to lead others out of that temptation. Just like what happened when Jesus started his ministry, he got baptized and what happened? The Holy Spirit. It says, ekballō in the Greek, cast him out, throws him into the desert in order for the enemy to tempt him. Why did Jesus Christ fast for 40 days? Why he tempted by the evil one? Why did God allow that for Jesus to conquer that so then to show us how we can be more than conquerors. The other thing I want to point out from first Corinthians 10:3, it doesn't say, God won't give you more than you can handle. He often does give us more than we can handle so that we run to him. But it says that you won't give us more temptation than we can bare. So when you feel tempted by the evil one, when you feel tempted by sin, by the flesh, run to Christ, run to Christ and he will show you the exit strategy to get out by the power of the spirit. Look what happens, I'll just mention this and then point 3. We sin and then we pray. Pray before you sin. Pray when you're tempted. In that moment of temptation, pray. Call someone, text someone, "Hey, I'm being tempted right now, please, please pray for me, please." And the other thing I'll say is if you have time for temptation, you have too much time on your hands.Go serve someone, go babysit someone's kids. I know lots of families who actually struggled over Covid. Go babysit. Number three, ask of God audaciously, ask of God. And this is shocking. And I read it before. But the story is in Luke 11:5-8 Jesus telling a story. He's like that prayer happened. Now, I'm going to show you the war aspect of prayer, the struggle aspect, the battle aspect, where you wrestle with God. And he tells a story of a guy who has a friend come to his house at midnight. He doesn't have any food. And the rule of hospitality in middle Eastern culture was that you had to provide shelter and food. So this guy doesn't have anything. So he goes to his friend's house and he starts knocking. And it says his friend doesn't give him the loaves of bread because they're friends.Because if you wake me up at midnight and you wake up my kids, we are no longer friends. That's what's going on, but he'll give it to him because of his impudence that's what the text says. His persistent, audacity, tenacity, his shamelessness, he's almost reckless, persisting in the face of all that seems reasonable. And Jesus says, that's how to pray. That's how to pray. You wrestle with God. You beg God. You keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking. Verse nine and I will tell you, ask, and it will be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and will be open to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be open, it's the holy boldness. You're knocking, you're insistently asking, you're searching and you refuse to stop, it's battle, it's a holy struggle, that's what's going on.A story goes of Alexander the Great had a general, his daughter was getting married and Alexander the Great tells that general, "Hey, I'll pay for that wedding, just tell me how much." And then the general writes this letter with the amount. The treasurer reads letter and tells Alexander, "Hey, you're probably going to behead him because this is just absurd." And Alexander the Great asked for the number. And he says, "Give it to him." By such an outlandish request he shows that he believes that I am both rich and generous. And he was flattered by it. In some sense, God says, I want you to know how great of a God I am. John Newman wrote that we're coming to a King, large petitions with the bring for his grace and power are such none can ever ask too much.So there is a sense in Martin Lloyd Jones, the great British preacher he wrote about this. He said, I commend to you the reading of biographies of men who have been used by God in the church throughout the centuries especially in revival. And you will find the same holy boldness, this argumentation, this reasoning, this putting the case to God, pleading his own promises. All of that, that is the whole secret of prayer. I sometimes think Thomas Goodwin uses a wonderful term. He says, sue him for it, sue him for it. Do not leave him alone. Pester him as it were with his own promises, quote the scriptures to him and you know God delights to hear us doing it. As a father likes to see this element in his own child who has obviously been listening to what his father has been saying. It's true, it's true, about kids pestering their parents. You were listening and you know that I do not lie. I shall give you that ice cream cone, just don't tell your mom, happens all the time. Do you wrestle with God? As Jacob wrestles with God says, "I'm not going to let you go until you bless me." As Abraham haggles with God. I love that story. Abraham haggles with God, God comes to him and says, "I got to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, they're so sinful." And he says, "What if there are 50 righteous people in the town." God said, "Okay, I'll relent if there's 50." And then Abraham's like, "How about 45?" And then at that point, he's like, "How about 40?" And God's like, "Okay." And then he comes back to him and he's like, "How about 30?" Now, he's going down by tens."How about 20?" "Fine." "How about 10?" And he should have kept going because they weren't even 10. But he does say a lot. There's this wrestling. There's this proximity to God, verse 11-13. What father among you if a son asks for a fish will instead of a fish give him a serpent. Or if he asks for an egg will give him a scorpion. If you then who are evil you at your best, feeding your children, giving your kids good gifts, even at your best you're still evil. You still need Jesus. Know how to give good gifts to your children. How much more will the heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him. So like ask, seek, knock on the door, you shall get. When we think of that, we think of physical things. The story of Alexander the Great. Yeah, okay is God going to give us bank? Maybe, maybe not. The greatest gift that God can give us, what's the punchline. How does Jesus land this text, will not the heavenly father give more of the Holy Spirit, give more of himself, give more of his presence, give more of your holiness. If that's what you're asking for God, I want you to be hallowed. I want you to be holy in my life. God forgive me for my sins. Do not lead me into temptation. I pray that you provide for me both materially and then also grace for forgiveness of sins and to continue to forgive others. How do we deepen a passion for the Lord like this? Revelation chapter two, he talks about you've lost your first love. He's talking to a church. How do we get it back? We go back to the foot of the cross. We go back to the feet of Jesus, in all of Jesus' prayers he always called God father. He called him abba. The only time he does not call him abba is when he cries out in Matthew 27:46, about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lima sabachthani?" That is, "My God, my God." Twice, with all of his heart, the one that he loves has turned his face from him. "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? God, doesn't answer that prayer, why? Just like he didn't answer the prayer in Gethsemane, "Let this cup pass from me." Why?Because this is what it took. It took Jesus' prayer, not being answered so that we can be adopted into the family of God so that we could have our prayers answered. What's fascinating is Jesus reverts back to abba. After he absorbs the wrath of God on the cross he reverts back to abba and his final words, Luke 23:46, Jesus calling out the loud voice, said, "Father into your hands, abba into your hands I commit my spirit." And having said this, he breathed his last. He breathed his last so that we could receive the breath of life. Receive it. Why wouldn't you receive the breadth of life, receive the Holy Spirit, receive forgiveness of sins. Come to his feet, his nail pierced feet, receive, listen, talk, ask, and continue to live the life he's called us to live.Let's pray, Lord, we thank you for your word. What a tremendous word it is, a blessed word. Lord, we thank you for giving us access to yourself. We thank you for reminding us that the most important thing, the one thing that's necessary in this world is our relationship with you. And we deepen it by listening to you attentively, by talking to you relationally, by asking audaciously, in particular for things that you've already promised. You've promised to build your church. You've told us you don't want to see the death of a sinner. You want people to be converted. You promised us that when we are close to you will bring us flourishing and the flourishing not just of ourselves and our families, but our communities, our city, our state, our nation. So we pray Lord that you continue to pour out your spirit and give us victory over Satan, sin, and death. And we thank you in advance and we pray all this in Christ's name. Amen.

Where Is Your Interior Life Leading You? {The Interior Life – Exercising the Mind – Part 2] (Camp House; Chattanooga, TN) MESSAGE SUMMARY: The Psalmist, in Psalms 1:3-4, describes a person with a fruitful Interior Life: “He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away.". Our Interior Life, typically, does not call out for our attention until, usually, it is too late. Our Interior Life does not call for our attention or scream for help. However, if our Interior Life is not maintained or nurtured, our spiritual life can come crashing down. Our Interior Life can be viewed like a savings account in a bank. Like a savings account when we make deposits, our Interior Life grows, draws interest, and becomes strong, thereby, giving us a balance that can see us through life's tough times. However, if we are not making Interior Life deposits and our life circumstances need to draw on our “savings”, we may find that life has put us in an untenable situation; and we go spiritually bankrupt. Does the life description, provided by Jesus in John 7:37b-38, describe your life: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'”? Paul, in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, describes the characteristics of the Inner Person and the maintenance of the Inner Person: “Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.". Paul describes us as being comprised of body, soul, and spirit. Our Inner Person, or Our Inner Self, is all that relates to our soul and spirit. The Interior Life is critical for our abundant life – the part of us that is private not public; the part of us that no one sees or knows but us and God. Too often, we focus our personal care on our bodies and not our soul or Inner Person. Paul, in Ephesians 3:16-17, addresses or “inner being”: “that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love,". We need to focus, today, on a portion of our Inner Self's soul that includes “our mind” – “the power of our mind”. What gives us the power to steer our lives in the direction that we want to go and, in a manner, that God expects of us? The mind gives our Inner Self power. Too many of us are wasting our minds – most of us are not exercising the power of our minds. To exercise our minds, we must: 1) discipline our mind to mind – mental discipline; 2) take charge of what we let our mind dwell upon – what we think, we are; and 3) learn to think from Christ's perspective – as a Christian, we must intentionally learn to think from God's point of view. To intentionally exercise our mind, we can: 1) read; 2) study; 3) memorize; and 4) meditate – reflect upon an issue. Jesus was asked, in Luke 20:25b-28 to reveal the key to eternal life; and Jesus responded: “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?' He said to him, ‘What is written in the Law? How do you read it?' And he answered, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.' And he said to him, You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.'”. To position our Inner Self to think from God's point of view, our mind must be exercised through the love of God and others. The mind, as a Christian, is a terrible thing to be wasted by our Inner Self; therefore, we must endeavor to stop wasting our minds. We need to develop the power for gaining control over our will and directing our minds toward a spirit-filled life in Jesus. Each of our lives is to be driven by the Holly Spirit through our Inner Person to yield our lives to God's will. The Holy Spirit enables us to do God's will in our lives – our Interior Life's deposit for the future. The Holy Spirit is often the most forgotten member of the Trinity. We may know that he is there, but are unclear about what he does or how to interact with him - or if that is even possible. Yet something was so important about the Holy Spirit that Jesus had to go to make way for him. Jesus knew that the Holy Spirit within us would be better than himself beside us. During this series happening July 15 - August 12 we will study what is so important about the Holy Spirit and identify some common misconceptions.
