Also, from behind bars, Girkin warns that the current "Peace Plan" is a suicide trap, while Kalashnikov argues that the "Raw Material Empire" is collapsing and 2026 will look a lot like 1917.Please, donate to the Ukrainian army for a truck here:https://car4ukraine.com/campaigns/christmas-tree-trucks-2025-the-eastern-border/Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/theeasternborder. Today we introduce the hosts, lay out the mission of the show, and ask the core question: Why AK? From pop culture mystique to Cold War steel, we discuss what draws us to the Kalashnikov platform and combloc gear. In basic conscript terminology this explains why the hell these specific three morons are screaming into the void.
The self-proclaimed futurologist, one of Girkin's best friends and a true believer in Z ideals Maxim Kalashnikov finally breaks down. A man who sincerely thinks that all that is good in the world has died because of stupidity of his political leaders. A true villainous breakdown of a Z bastard who, even still, thinks that Russia is inherently good - and a cathartic experience for the rest of us!Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/theeasternborder. Social Media has been ablaze with chatter about the fever dream of Brandon Herrera joining the Trump cabinet to head the BATFE. I personally salivate over the thought, and look forward to the abject terror of the bureaucrats should he face a Senate confirmation hearing. Five years ago, Brandon joined our little podcast for some fun conversation about his journey into social media, the gun industry, and this insane project he was just starting to work on to make a 50BMG Kalashnikov pattern rifle.I hope you enjoy this walk down memory lane, and if you want Brandon back on the show, I encourage you all to find him on social media and ask him to come visit your favorite lunatics again.
Episode 305. I explain the news coming out of El Paso yesterday of 11k rounds of 7.62x39 being intercepted and what that means in the bigger picture - the Russians have a large scale Kalashnikov factory in Venezuela producing more AK-103s than they have people, no doubt arming Tren de Aragua here in the US. I then break down the unveiling of the Chinese PLA American Occupation Force patch - this should be a wake up call to Americans that the wolves are very much at the door. Throughout Scot's journey with RS Regulate, one philosophy has always guided him—and it's why he chose to make mounts utilizing the AK's side rail instead of developing replacements for essential parts of the firearm: “I don't want to impact the weapon's combat effectiveness.” Scot's “change nothing, utilize everything” principle has led him to create what is arguably the best AK optics mount in the world. His passion for the Kalashnikov platform is evident in his design philosophy and his dedication to his products. He is one of the few individuals in the United States who is reinventing the “AK wheel” and breathing new life into a proven design that's well deserving of it. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/whiskeyandwindage/support
For review:1. No Israeli response to Iran. Discussions and coordination with US continues.Among the challenges of an aggressive response is the potential for tit-for-tat strikes that will draw in other Middle Eastern countries. Tehran has threatened Western-backed Arab states that it will attack them next if an Israeli-US retaliatory action against Iran goes through their territory or airspace.2. IDF Ground Offensive in S. Two Russian nationals with ties to a news network connected to Putin's government allegedly funneled millions to a U.S. media company that paid right-wing influencers for pro-Kremlin content. Kalashnikov and Afanasyeva face charges of money laundering and FARA violations. Allegations point to Russian interference in the 2024 U.S. elections. RT, funded by the Russian government, orchestrated the transfer of $10 million through shell entities to a Tennessee-based media firm for creating social media content.
In May 2024, a prison van was attacked at a highway toll in Normandy, France. In dramatic footage shared on social media, a black SUV, driving the wrong direction, rammed into the prison van just as it went through the barriers. Then gunmen, dressed head-to-toe in black and armed with Kalashnikov rifles got out and started shooting at the van, killing two prison officers. They opened the van and freed the prisoner, a man named Mohamed Amra, aka "The Fly", who escaped with the gunmen. There is now an Interpol Red Notice out for Amra. The attack took place in broad daylight and sheds light on the dramatic increase in gang violence over the last few years in France. ***EDITOR'S NOTES*** This episode originally aired on YouTube on November 7th, 2023. Another seasonally thematic episode, in honor of both Kalashnikov's indigenous roots and November being American Indian Heritage Month, we agreed to do an episode on Funkdoobiest and their west coast classic “Rock On”. This would be considered our first episode diving into a song that isn't as widely popular on the mainstream circuit and would be more par for the course for several episodes until later in the first quarter of 2024. Also, as we had just recently starting backdrop music to the show, we acknowledged that the instrumental was a touch too loud on the episode and moving forward made a permanent adjustment to the volume so it was easier to listen to us speak on the topic for future episodes. We hope you enjoy this deep cut episode and continue to follow us along the development of the show as changes continue to grow in the next few episodes to come. One Love, - The RTR Crew ———————————————————————— ***ORIGINAL SHOW NOTES***
April 19th 2024 Yuriy reveals the harsh reality of war in Ukraine, highlighting the grim consequences of every dollar that can buy bullets to kill Ukrainians, emphasizing the urgent need to strip Russia of its means for war. One bullet for Kalashnikov costs about 50 cents. You can buy two bullets for a dollar, theoretically, with two lives. $1 equals minus two lives. It's simple math. It can't get any simpler. The point of sanctions imposed against Russia is precisely to leave Russians with as little money as possible, so we don't have the means repair weapons, build tanks, or buy bullets. When the so-called Russian opposition starts complaining that the average people are suffering because of the sanctions, and that's why they should be lifted, they are playing into the kremlin's hands. You can't take money only from the state and leave the money for the people. That's not how it works. The state's money is the taxes people pay and the less money they have, the fewer taxes they pay, and the less where state can buy tanks and bullets. Those who call for the lifting or easing of sanctions are either fools who don't understand whether state's money comes from or they're working for Putin, pretending to be his enemies. Russians who fled to the West, love to talk about how Russian people are not to blame for the war, how people don't support the occupation of Ukrainian lands and the killing of Ukrainians, but they are lying. Just read what Russians writes about the war- by the way, I've counted about 30 insulting names for Ukrainians. With this supposedly entire war, people have come up with. Just watch videos from the first days of a full scale invasion when thousands of people in Russia, were celebrating. They were genuinely celebrating dancing on the streets, having picnics near the border with Ukraine to see missiles flying towards our cities, and they were very, very happy about each of these missiles. The so-called Russian opposition is a bunch of fools Putin's agents and people living in a fantasy world where the war can end without Putin's defeat, without destroying his army and without returning the occupied territories. Let me remind you once again that for a dollar you can buy two bullets for an AK that can kill two Ukrainians, and we need to make sure that Russia does not have that dollar so it cannot even buy war to bullets, because if Russia has even one less dollar, it'll spend it not on bread for the old person, not on the school notebook for a child, but on war. Because killing the Ukrainians rather than caring for its citizens, it's the only purpose of Russia's existence now. There's nothing else.

Late one evening in January 2013, a group of men carrying Kalashnikov rifles approached another man. Their faces were hidden behind balaclavas and they smelled of alcohol. It was the height of the Syrian civil war, and the group of men were supporters of President Bashar al-Assad's regime. They arrested the man and handed him over to Syrian Air Force intelligence officials who detained and tortured him. A Dutch court recently convicted one of those masked men involved in the arrest, known in court papers as Mustafa A., of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The verdict is the first time that a Dutch court has convicted a defendant who supported Assad's regime during the civil war, and it is the latest example of how courts across Europe are playing an active role in holding perpetrators of atrocity crimes to account. Joining the show to discuss the case and its implications are Fritz Streiff and Hope Rikkelman. Fritz and Hope work with The Nuhanovic Foundation, a nonprofit organization which helps to secure justice and reparations for civilian victims of war and conflict. The Foundation played an active role in this case. George MacLeod's book Mediating Violence from Africa: Francophone Literature, Film, and Testimony After the Cold War (U Nebraska Press, 2023) explores how African and non-African Francophone authors, filmmakers, editors, and scholars have packaged, interpreted, and filmed the violent histories of post–Cold War Francophone Africa. This violence, much of which unfolded in front of Western television cameras, included the use of child soldiers facilitated by the Soviet Union's castoff Kalashnikov rifles, the rise of Islamist terrorism in West Africa, and the horrific genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Through close readings of fictionalized child-soldier narratives, cinematic representations of Islamist militants, genocide survivor testimony, and Western scholarship, George S. MacLeod analyzes the ways Francophone African authors and filmmakers, as well as their editors and scholarly critics, negotiate the aesthetic, political, cultural, and ethical implications of making these traumatic stories visible. MacLeod argues for the need to periodize these productions within a “post–Cold War” framework to emphasize how shifts in post-1989 political discourse are echoed, contested, or subverted by contemporary Francophone authors, filmmakers, and Western scholars. The questions raised in Mediating Violence from Africa are of vital importance today. How the world engages with and responds to stories of recent violence and loss from Africa has profound implications for the affected communities and individuals. More broadly, in an era in which stories and images of violence, from terror attacks to school shootings to police brutality, are disseminated almost instantly and with minimal context, these theoretical questions have implications for debates surrounding the ethics of representing trauma, the politicization of memory, and Africa's place in a global (as opposed to a postcolonial or Euro-African) economic and political landscape. Antony Kalashnikov's Monuments for Posterity: Self-Commemoration and the Stalinist Culture of Time (Cornell UP, 2023) analyzes Stalinist monument-building. From the 1930's through the Great Patriotic War, architectural monuments such as subway stations were designed to emphasize the perpetual endurance of the nation, regardless of the many crises of the period. The contemporary popularity of Stalinist-era architectural forms has endured. Why this should be so is a question worth pondering, and Monuments for Posterity does just that, in addition to offering a fresh reading of Stalinist architecture in its own time. Aaron Weinacht is Professor of History at the University of Montana Western, in Dillon, MT. He teaches courses on Russian and Soviet History, World History, and Philosophy of History. The AK-47 assault rifle, the 20th century's deadliest weapon, went into production on 6th July, 1947. Designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov, then a 22 year-old tank sergeant, the 600rpm gun was the winning entry in a national competition to find the next generation of Soviet weapons. It went on to be used in conflicts as diverse as Vietnam, Cuba and Iraq. In this episode, Arion, Rebecca and Olly explain how Kalashnikov researched and developed his killing machine; consider the ironic popularity of his weapon in the United States; and recall the end-of-life torment his invention ultimately brought him… Further Reading: • ‘July 6, 1947: The AK-47, an All-Purpose Killer' (WIRED, 2009): https://www.wired.com/2009/07/dayintech-0706/ • ‘Kalashnikov inventor haunted by unbearable pain of dead millions' (The Guardian, 2014): https://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jan/13/kalashnikov-weapon-inventor-spiritual-pain-dead-millions • ‘Evolution of AK-47 Rifle' (The Infographics Show, 2021): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=meTEcIWzyWI Love the show?
