Episode 4 of the brand new Season 6 kicked off at precisely 19h00 on 26 Jan 2023 on Rebel Rock Radio. First up was a band who are no strangers to TSORR, Great White with ‘Never Trust a Pretty Face'. We had a nice up-tempo start cycling through Motor Sister, and Accept and then took a huge step back into the past with the ever-fresh sound of Creedence Clearwater Revival and ‘Green River', from there we went to Aussie for some Cold Chisel and a track called ‘Misfits'. We stayed there for Airborne and moved on to Tesla via Halestorm and a track called Legendary which of course she is. Lzzy Hale is the real deal. The Tesla track was ‘Gettin' Better' off the RePlugged Live album which is amazing. Tesla fans check it out. Black Star Riders (without Scott Gorham) released a new album last week called Wrong Side of Paradise, we listened to the title track. It's one of those that fall into the ‘Songs that could be about South Africa' category. Talking of that we also had ‘Losing More Than You Ever Had' (Accept) and ‘Stand & Deliver (Airbourne) as further examples. Def Leppard's colossal breakthrough album Pyromania turned 40 this week and KISS main man Paul Stanley turned 70. We celebrated with Rock, Rock (Till You Drop), and Love Gun' respectively. 'Peace is Free' from Black stone Cherry calmed things down a bit, and we stayed calm with ‘Soul' from 12th Avenue and wished Mark Haze, vocalist extraordinaire who formed 12th Avenue, a speedy recovery from the back-op he had this week. Linkin Park with ‘One Step Closer' sounded great and then we got to Megadeth with 'Life in Hell' off their latest album and a brand new track from Metallica called ‘Screaming Suicide'. TSORR predicts that 2023 will be Metallica's year. They seem to have hit a sweet spot and are feeling the love and appreciation of the people of Planet Earth. The South African stuff was, as we say in these parts, 'poes heavy'. Kill Frenzy out of Cape Town and Diverted Disorder from the Vaal gave us our weekly dose of Linda take a walk music. Check out both bands if you dig the heavier stuff. This week's Immortal track came from Led Zep with 'Since I've Been Loving You' off Led Zeppelin III. We had UK Punk courtesy of Sex Pistols, The Stranglers, and Stiff Little Fingers which led us to U2 with 'I Will Follow'. Prepare to hear a lot of U2, I am busy with Bono's book Surrender, it is a great read. Even if you are not a fan it is so rich with descriptions of the times, places, and characters of the times that it is well worth delving into. the Audible version brings it all to life. We ended with Slayer and another song that could be about South Africa called 'Seasons In the Abyss'. Artists featured: Great White, Jorn, Motor Sister, Accept, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Cold Chisel, Airbourne, Ratt, Halestorm, Nickelback, Tesla, John Mellencamp, Black Star Riders. Phil X & the Drills, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, KISS, The Black Crowes, White Zombie, Emigrate, Glenn Hughes, Black Stone Cherry, 12th Avenue, Linkin Park, Megadeth, Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Sex Pistols, Stiff Little Fingers, The Stranglers, U2, Me and That Man, Kill Frenzy, Diverted Disorder, Piet Botha, Windowpane, Slayer. The Story of Rock and Roll. TSORR - Your one-stop shop for Rock

In The Mix - Mr C --------------------------------- Mr.C started MCing in London clubs aged 16 working with LWR radio's Ron Tom, Jasper the Vinyl Junkie & Jazzy M. Mr.C then hooked up with Colin Faver & Evil Eddie Richards to became resident rapper at the legendary Camden Palace in London. Mr.C went into the studio to record his 1st house track with Eddie Richards as Myster-E which was released in August 1987. This inspired Mr.C to become a DJ so in September 87 he took to the decks. Mr.C has since organised, promoted & been resident DJ at: Fantasy ('88), Base (Dungeons '89), Release (91), Harmony (92), Drop (93), Cyclone (94), Vapourspace (94 & 95), Flavour (The End 95 & 96), Subterrain (The End 95 - 2002), Superfreq (Worldwide 2002 - Present), Super Disco Freq (LA 2010 - present), Next Step Forward Festival (Sept 2018). Mr.C was resident DJ every weekend (Friday & Saturday nights) at the legendary RIP parties at Clink Street in London throughout 1988. Mr.C hosted weekly radio show Future Music on Kiss 100FM in London from 1993-2002 & has presented TV shows for MTV, FH1, VIVA & BBC. To say that Mr.C is one of the most iconic DJs in the world would be an understatement. In December 1995 Mr.C opened the legendary nightclub The End in London & then AKA bar 3 years later & was lauded as one of the best night clubs in the world. The End & AKA closed its doors for good on January 24th 2009. 1 Chapter closes & another begins. Since the closure of The End Mr.C has been running his Superfreq events globally & is just about to host his brand new London festival, Next Step Forward Festival. Mr.C runs & promotes Superfreq events, which celebrated being 16 years old in March 2018 & ran monthly at Mr.C's club The End until it closed down in January 2009. Superfreq functions bi-monthly in London & does regular events in Los Angeles as well as bi-monthly events in Calais France & one off events the world over. Mr.C is founder & owner of Plink Plonk records, co-founder of End Recordings & founder & co-owner of the Superfreq label, which is now releasing music prolifically. Mr.C has recorded under the names, Myster-E, Unity 2, Nu Jacks, Bass Bureau, The Shamen, Mantrac, Somnambulist, Animus Amour, Killer Loop, Mr.C & Tom Parris, Mr.C & 16B, Sycophant Slags, Indigo Kidz & East LA Tek. Mr.C is best known as front man, songwriter & producer of the pop group The Shamen with whom he notched up a string of top 10 hits including Move Any Mountain, Love Sex Intelligence, Boss Drum, Phorever People & the UK number 1 smash hit Ebeneezer Goode. These hits were hits the world over. The Shamen album Boss Drum went double platinum in the UK & they also won a highly coveted Ivor Novelo for Songwriters of the year UK in 1993. Richard's currently recording solo as Mr.C & is also doing collaborations as the Indigo Kidz with Affie Yusuf & with Noel Jackson as East LA Tek. His latest album was released last year called Incidents, which is arguably his best work to date along with singles Stand Up, Shape Your Dreams & Ripple Effect all being taken from the album.
On this weeks episode of the Space Cowboys RIPEcast, we are continuing to celebrate Bay Area DJ heroes by bringing you Torie from the Icarus and You're Welcome crews. Here is a few words from Torie about this mix: “My biggest rule for playing music isn’t about genres or expectations—it’s about finding tunes that genuinely makes me want to dance. I find so much energy and excitement in a bumpin’ four-on-the-floor beat with a high-hat to match. This mix is an eclectic mix of songs that are keeping me moving & grooving—and, of course, some old school favs—as we’re getting into Burning Man preparations mode. I’m beyond stoked to be able to share it with you, and I hope it gets you dancing too. Hope to see ya in the dust )’( Cheers!” - Torie Check out more from Torie here: www.soundcloud.com/yotorieee www.facebook.com/yotorieee www.instagram.com/yotorieee Here is more about Torie: With a global upbringing and roots in San Francisco, Torie’s sound is an eclectic blend of many influences. Dancing around the living room to music videos on a Saturday morning as a toddler, Cami Jones has been a lover of all things music since a young age. Springing from the home of renowned artists including Motez, Juliet Fox and Groove Terminator, the soundtrack to her childhood consisted of 90s house music with a mum who played Ministry of Sound CDs on the drive to school. She began creating ‘mixtapes’ at the age of 9, recording her favourite songs from underground radio station Fresh 92.7 to tape after school in her bedroom. This obsession only grew, and during her early teens her favourite time of the week was Saturday night when she’d keenly listen to DJs on Fresh, playing the best club house music each week. A few years later and surrounded by a blossoming house music scene in Adelaide, her early clubbing experiences began to further define her musical tastes. Her fun- loving personality meant she was a constant at the clubs contributing to the growing Australian house music scene. Fast forward a few years and a move up north to the sunny state of Queensland, Cami began her DJing career making waves with her signature style of thumping house and techno in her adopted town of Brisbane. After competing in DJ competition Your Shot, she performed in local venues such as Bowler Bar, Wasteland, Empire Hotel and Family Nightclub (now known as Venue EI8HT). Satisfied with the experience she gained and always one to reach for the stars, she ventured overseas to hit international waters. Since then she has DJed across several renowned venues internationally including headline slots at Sankeys (Ibiza), Ocean Beach Club (Ibiza), Jet Sundays (Ibiza), Es Paradis (Ibiza), The Rainbow Venues (Birmingham), Shelter (London), Rooftop 16 (Tirana) and 360 Lounge Bar (Ayia Napa). Cami has also kept busy by finishing her Bachelor of Public Relations university degree whilst drilling in to production work and studying a Diploma of Sound Production, majoring in Electronic Music Production, at SAE QANTM College. For the past two years she has also hosted her own weekly radio show-‘The Clubhouse with Cami Jones’ -on 105.7 Radio Metro. As a DJ, Cami knows exactly what the crowd wants and when they want it. She takes her listeners on a journey, showcasing a variety of her favourite tunes whilst ensuring the mood of her dancefloor is exactly how she wants it to be- deep, dark and dirty. Her passion for each and every one of the tunes she plays shines through the energy of her sets and whether it be a thumping kick or a deep, dirty bassline, she brings a uniquely educated blend of underground house and techno to the decks. Cami’s wide list of musical influences include Catz ‘N Dogz, Claude VonStroke, DJ Pierre, Mr. G, Nina Kraviz, Green Velvet, KiNK, Len Faki, Kill Frenzy, Shiba San, and Ciszak. Much like the multi-cultural country she comes from, she describes her style as a worldly blend drawing on the soulful elements of Chicago house, the pounding kick of Detroit techno, the underground feel of Berlin, the big basslines of London and the beautiful, deep melodies of the Balearic region. With her production work on the rise, a degree under her belt and a solid upcoming release schedule, 2018 has never looked better for this little dancing kid from the 90s.

For the past two years she has also hosted her own weekly radio show-‘The Clubhouse with Cami Jones' -on 105.7 Radio Metro. Cami's wide list of musical influences include Catz ‘N Dogz, Claude VonStroke, DJ Pierre, Mr.
Happy October, partiers! Halloween is right around the corner and it’s one of our favorite times of year, so we made another scary mix for you for 2018! And of course had to bring in our friends, who are the only people who enjoy putting together seasonal mixes as much as we do, @HeartOfGoldSounds! We met Gareth and Rob of Heart of Gold through their Connect party, which had a great run at Sayers Club as one of the best deep/tech nights in the city, and has now evolved into a day party. We love how passionate they are about music and about putting on a great party and we count them among some of our favorite people in the local scene. The duo’s passion and care clearly show when crafting their seasonal mixes (which you can check out here - https://soundcloud.com/heartofgoldsounds/sets/heart-of-gold-seasonal-mix), so we were excited to see what they would bring for Halloween! So excited that we decided to just let them do their thing and forgo our typical hour long format to bring you an extended, nearly two hour mix this month ;) If you’ll be celebrating the holiday in LA, Heart of Gold is playing Minimal Effort: All Hallow's Eve, alongside Boys Noize, Ardalan, Christian Martin and Kill Frenzy. We see big things on the horizon for them! Now that you’re in the Halloween spirit, get back out there and kick off your Sunday with whatever sort of potion you’re in the mood for ;) If you like what you hear, please LIKE, COMMENT, REPOST, and SHARE! xoxo No Pants Party TRACKLIST: No Pants Party 1. Mark Starr has been honing his sound for over a decade, however his career was recently put in the fast lane after his “Sunshine” EP on MC Flipside's D.B.R. Recordings was noticed by Kill Frenzy and other members of dirtybird records. That early dirtybird connection came to full fruition once label-boss Claude VonStroke tweeted at the young producer, stating plainly: "send me something as good as your last remix (of Wet::Sex's "Spaceship") and it's signed on the spot!"A fortuitous moment in Mark's career, which has been on a steady upward ascent ever since; in the past year, he's released music on Skrillex's label OWSLA and made himself a home on San Francisco's dirtybird (his track "Rood Boy," featured on the 2013 dirtybird Players compilation, has been rinsed around the world by artists such as Justin Martin, Skream & Benga, Stanton Warriors, Riva Starr, Shadow Child and more). In 2013 Mark has seen airplay of his originals and remixes on BBCRadio1, Radio1Xtra, Rinse.FM, BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix, Ministry Of Sound Radio and has had a guest mix featured on Foamo's Rinse.FM podcast.2013 has had a strong finish for Mark, with an original releases and remixes on Shadow Child and Kry Wolf's Food Music, OWSLA/NestIV, Hot N Heavy, Main Course, No Brainer Records and Perfect Driver Records; most notably having his remix of Aaron Snapes's “Whatcha Wanna Do” featured in Claude Vonstroke's recent Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1.

A pairing of styles and passions curated by two well known Chicago artists and performers, Ingénue, as the name implies, brings the melodic innocence of Deep House and the unique sex appeal of Motown R&B together in an effortless wave of genius. Never without a side plot, the two creatives infuse a live show with all original content – mixed, performed and produced on stage. Ingénue caters to one of the fastest growing fan bases in the country…….. those in search of an authentic experience. In the first month of the new year, Ingénue releases the “Winter 2017 Mixtape”……… a 26-track, all original production. With over two hours of new compositions, the artists set the tone for a year of transformative growth and musical development. The foundation of the “2017 Winter Mixtape” album will allow the young talent to expand on their passion and ride the spring into festival season and finally a Fall tour. Pulling on their inspirations, Dylan Hyde Castle and Marc Miller bring their audience into the sexual harmony of meticulously orchestrated house and tropical techno jet streams. Their music has been, and will continue to be, the perfect accompaniment for their already impressive list of peers……. performing along side such notable artists as Moon Boots, Kill Frenzy, Solumun Grey and a long list of well known creatives at their Reaction NYE debut in Chicago. 2017 is set to be the year of continuous movement for Ingénue and all of those along for the journey.

I was thrilled to be invited to play at DISTRIKT for the first time this year. It's easy to see why they are one of the premier parties on the playa – the crowd energy, sound system, and overall atmosphere far surpassed my expectations. I tried to keep it both sunny & pounding for this set.. SO MUCH FUN. Thanks DISTRIKT for having me, and thanks everyone for moving your bikes so the music could continue uninterrupted. TRACKLIST 1.
