Today we're talking about How to make your travel dreams a reality.  I'm excited about this episode because if you're anything like me, you want to travel and explore new places, but there's a few things that tend to hold you back.  First, traveling is expensive. You really want to make travel a priority, but between plane tickets, lodging costs, and other travel expenses, it gets to be a lot.  Two, you don't know who to travel with. Maybe you're single and not sure if you want to travel solo or you're married but it seems like none of your friends are able to travel.  If you've ever felt this way, you're not alone, but today's guest is going to help us!  Our guest for today's episode is my new friend, Whitney Haldeman. Whitney is a Luxury Travel Advisor and Founder of Blonde Atlas, a luxury boutique travel company that provides planning services for individual clients, as well as group tours for women called Atlas Adventures. She is passionate about connecting like-minded women who have a shared love for travel.  In this episode, she's helping us figure out how to incorporate travel into our lives no matter our budget or whether or not we have someone to go with.  One of my favorite tips she shares is splitting time between budget friendly lodging and luxury lodging — more about that in the episode!  If you have the itch to explore and want to make your travel dreams a reality, this episode is for you! Ever wondered what goes into planning FAM trips? These familiarization trips allow travel advisors to experience destinations firsthand, build relationships with suppliers, and gain valuable knowledge to better serve their clients. However, the planning and execution of a FAM is often underestimated, and there are certain do's and don'ts that advisors should be aware of to ensure a successful experience. In this episode, Tara D'Agostino & Jamie Jackson of WanderLuxe Destinations discuss the labor-intensive process of planning and executing FAMs, the importance of building relationships with partners, and the expectations and etiquette for advisors attending the FAMs. Tara and Jamie share insights on how they select advisors for each trip, the costs involved, and the significance of respect and engagement during site visits. About Tara D'Agostino: Tara, Owner and Managing Director of WanderLuxe Destinations, began her professional career in luxury travel after deciding to transition from the non-profit world where Tara worked for the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority, liaising between Seton Hall University and the State of NJ. While travel has always been Tara's passion, she came to a crossroads where she decided to transition her passion into a career and became a Luxury Travel Advisor with Travelong of Summit in Summit, NJ. As she quickly adapted to the business and her client base grew, Tara was offered a Sales Manager position with Wegner Associates, and began juggling both sides of the trade until fully immersing herself into representation; something she quickly fell in love with! Wendy Wegner and Tara began discussing the succession and future of Wegner Associates, and in March of 2019, Tara acquired ownership, rebranded the company and launched WanderLuxe Destinations on July 1st of 2019. About Jamie Jackson: Jamie was born and raised in Bucks County, PA (a suburb of Philadelphia), but knew she would end up in the South. She earned her BA from Elon University in North Carolina where she spent a winter term in Greece and semester abroad in London. Jamie and her husband spent 6 years in Palm Beach County, FL before settling in Charleston, SC where they reside with their two boys. Jamie has a passion for enhancing relationships between advisors, suppliers, and consortia to strategically improve and grow the business for all parties through education and resource development. The genesis of her agency, The Constant Wayfarer, was met with skepticism, yet her unwavering commitment to curating exceptional travel experiences for clients triumphed.   What elevates Ashley as a travel concierge is her methodology and meticulous attention to detail. Every client's wants and needs are understood, from travel predilections to bucket-list aspirations. Leveraging an extensive network of travel partners and local liaisons, Ashley ensures each journey is tailored to the individual. From itinerary curation to seamless bookings, she unburdens clients from the hassles of travel logistics, allowing them to enjoy every moment of their well-earned vacations. Ashley's story only reiterates that success is measured not solely by conventional metrics, but by the impact on others and the gratification of pursuing your dreams.  Quotes: “And I'm very thankful that I have parents who are also small business owners. My dad's been a photographer for, gosh, 50 years or whatever. And he was like, the worst thing that could happen is it fails. And if it fails, you'll survive and you'll figure something else out. And you'll do that. But it never hurts to try.” (4:25 | Ashley) “I'm very thankful that I had the privilege to have a family to fall back on to be in their house for much longer than I intended. And when the middle of 2020 hit, and the full time job decided that they needed to essentially lay people off, I took that as my opportunity to leave and actually, like, basically volunteered myself to do that. So emotionally, it was absolutely the most stressful time I've ever been in. But I'm so so grateful for it. Because if it hadn't happened the way it was,, I don't know if I would have been able to be full time at that point.” (09:28| Ashley) “And just having that on the ground experience is super important. And then it helps in the sense of once I actually am sending clients, I can be like, this is where I stayed. You will love it for X, Y, Z reasons. Make sure you talk to this concierge. She's the best. Like those kinds of notes are always invaluable for my clients. And I think some of my clients come to me because they don't have the time. Some come to me because it's a destination that they're just maybe intimidated by. And some come to me because they want access to the local partners we use and the hotels that we partner with to give them VIP amenities.”  (23:50 | Ashley)  “I didn't want to sit and wait around to explore the world until I had a partner to do so. I wanted to capitalize on the time I had in my singlehood to explore and see all the things I could.” (26:29 | Ashley)  Connect with Ashley Theis: Website | https://theconstantwayfarer.com/ Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/theconstantwayfarer/   Connect with Nesha:  Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/neshapai/ Youtube | https://www.youtube.com/@neshapai1480/videos Buy a copy of Nesha's book, Overcoming Ordinary Obstacles: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1943070741?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_dp_KEGQ1539QQ5N8Z8XHRNC Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

When you embrace your singleness it isn't always an easy thing to do because you can feel unfulfilled on your own. The best piece of advice given is "to live a full single life because once your single days are enjoyable, they will make your married days even more enjoyable." In this weeks episode, Ziggy and Lori set down with Travel Expert and Director Of Philanthropy and Luxury Travel Advisor at Traveluxe Johnna Messam where they shared their experiences going through their season of singleness. Often times "Singleness" look at it from a “lonely” and negative perspective. However, on this episode the discussion looked it from a place of optimism, self-care, self-love, healing and dating; exploring different avenues and dating outside the Turks pool. If you are going through a Season of Singleness, this is an episode that will change your perspective of how you grow through that experience. The show also features a special segment called “Whatchu Know about us? Where the host and guest answer random questions about a bowl. No topic is off the table with Let's Get Candid. This episode is so special! I sit down and speak to one of my youngest followers yet, Damian Carnero.  He is in the 9th grade and sometimes we need to take a step back and listen to our youth for a fresh take and perspective of living in this crazy world. His mother, Janel Carnero is a Luxury Travel Advisor with Embark Beyond.    Every morning on her way to take Damian to school they listen to Audio Books or Podcasts. So, Damian has listened to several of my podcasts.  He told his Mom that I seem like a genuine real person.  Not the fake ‘self-help ‘or ‘do as I say not as I do type'. Damian said I sounded like someone who really wants to help others and is always eager to listen and talk about different things.  When was the last time you sat down with your kids, niece/nephews, grandkids – whomever of the younger generation and got their perspective on things?   They are the future, the ones that are paving the way.  Let's nurture them, include them and allow them to spread their wings and fly.
