Dr. Grossman explains that ERM comprises various cell types, including glial cells, retinal pigment epithelial cells, macrophages, and fibrocytes. The degree of visual distortion varies depending on the amount and location of the pucker, which can be assessed using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). Although ERM typically affects central vision and not peripheral vision, it is often asymptomatic and progresses slowly. The condition is more common in elderly individuals and is associated with other eye issues such as retinal detachment and diabetic retinopathy.Dr. Grossman suggests that inflammation may play a significant role in the development of ERM, possibly exacerbated by COVID-19 or its vaccine. He recommends an anti-inflammatory diet and supplements like Zyflamend, serrapeptase, and his own Meso Plus formula, which contains carotenoids to support macular health. While traditional medicine may suggest peeling off the scar tissue, Dr. Grossman advocates for natural approaches and consulting a retinal specialist for further advice. For more information, listeners are encouraged to visit naturaleyecare.com and drgrossman2020.com, email info@naturaleyecare.com, or call 845-475-4158. SUMMARY KEYWORDS eye, question, prescription, people, reduce, improve, astigmatism, lens, vision, exercises, eyedrops, glaucoma, called, castor oil, macula, zeaxanthin, acupuncture, floaters, important, retina   00:05 Hello, everyone, it's Dr. Sam, I'd like to welcome you to my EyeClarity podcast. This is a show that offers cutting edge information on how to improve your vision and overall wellness through holistic methods. I so appreciate you spending part of your day with me. If you have questions, you can send them to hello@drsamberne.com. Now to the latest EyeClarity episode.     00:46 everyone, its Dr. Sam and I'm here in Hawaii. We are live and book signing here for a little bit and had some great folks coming by. And so I've been getting a lot of questions and part of my trip has been teaching Consulting and a little bit of fun. But I thought I would take a few questions as well. I had a minute. So I received a question from Lisa and she's got a condition called macular degeneration. And in this scenario, she wants to know what can she do to help her macular see better so she's got the dry kind.   01:30 So of course it always comes down to a couple of things very simple. First of all, the ingredients lutein and zeaxanthin as are such important karate noids that they feed the macula. And so if you've got any kind of Macula issues, you want to make sure you're getting lutein, zeaxanthin and the third one which is a marine prod Noid, asked to Xanten and you can get those through foods. Think about the colorful vegetables, the red, the green, the yellow, the orange, those plant pigments contain the necessary ingredients that feed the macula. And of course, that's the sad thing is the Marine Corps annoyed where you get that through wild caught salmon or shrimp or things like that. But you can also get it through a micro algae supplement. Also,   02:26 I would also protect yourself from the damaging blue light, especially after 6pm. So wearing blue blockers is another proactive practice that will help   02:38 protect your maquilas. And the third aspect that I would consider in especially in the dry form is making sure you're getting enough vitamin A and the trace minerals zinc helps in the absorption of vitamin A. And those fat soluble vitamins like vitamin A lutein and zeaxanthin. We know in Chinese medicine and acupuncture, the liver rules the eyes. So if you're having difficulty with liver function, either getting some acupuncture or you can also supplement by supporting your gallbladder and pancreatic enzymes. That'll help you absorb your fat soluble vitamins better, I would cut down on your sugars and make sure you're eating only natural natural foods not processed. And of course the last thing which is hot, hot hot right now is my read exercise glasses. And I've done a ton of   03:45 posts on the research on red light and how it affects the mitochondria both in the macula and in the retina. So treating yourself with a red light every morning is very, very important.   04:01 So as we move along here that they see about taking another question, this is from Robert. He's got myopia, and he's thinking about LASIK surgery. So I just did a podcast pros and cons of lasik surgery. And so I would point you to a couple of my blogs that I've done and podcasts on the pros and cons of lasik surgery. Remember, when you have a prescription in your eye, there is the eye prescription and there's also the mind body brain prescription. I know that may be foreign for a lot of people but we want to blame faulty vi...

This episode carries content warnings for human sacrifice, knives, explosions, memory loss, death. When Hazard entered our story, they may have seemed like someone defined by what was missing. But in truth, they had something that the members of the Blackwick Group never did: A clear and obvious objective. Now, standing on the other side of vengeance, they have the freedom (and the burden) of deciding what comes next.   This week on Sangfielle: Six Travelers: Hazard   The Almanac of the Heartland Rider Places Zevunzolia: Who the hell knows. A miraculous city waiting to be built? A utopian dimension adjacent our own? "The Seventh Sun Itself," I think I heard one of those fools call it. All I know is, however prime and pristine it is in promise, the pricetag keeps going conveniently unmentioned... Facts and Figures The Sunken Empress Altapasqua (she/her): Around fifty years after the panic set in, Altapasqua told her people she would ride across this cursed land and purge it of its disease and danger. She only made it about three fourths of the way. And well, it's as expected. She was down there ever since.  Gandy Dancers: The strange little creatures that maintain the trains. The Knights of Virtue, fka The Toll Collectors: It is fair to say that this group is still made up of the devil Agdeline (she/her), drakkan Ettel (he/him), and human Larch (he/him), but it isn't right to simply call them a "trio" anymore. The former miners-turned-bandits-turned-thieves-turned-bodyguards have come into the employ of Queen Virtue, and have revealed their true nature: Once per month, three more of them appear from the depths of the Blackwick Mines, and soon join with the others in search of and profit and adventure.  Emma Serchilde (she/her): Once, Emma was known in Sapodilla as one of the most successful investigators of the Glim Macula. A brutal interrogator and competent captain, Emma was nevertheless more loyal to herself than to the Macula. When Virtue became the city's new queen, Emma was quick to sell out her allies and devote herself to the city's newest power. Calen fel Dynestia (he/him): Heir to a grim line, Calen has joined the Shape Knights in an effort to rehabilitate the fel Dynestia name. Eyes sunken, pasty purple face covered with stubble, and all the highest fashion of Sapodilla circa twenty years ago. Betrayed his lover, Fezh,  Fezh (they/them): Soft for a Shape Knight. Strong for a Shape Knight. The closest there was to everyone in Bell Metal, but Calen most of all. Now lives as the furious engine, Red Zephyr. Uno Riscano (he/him): The so-called “Count of Cards,” this devil was the leader of one of the “six suits” that make up the Wrights of the Seventh Sun. Now headless. Organizations Glim Macula: Until earlier this year, Sapodilla was marked by its white coated witch hunters, who terrorized the city's margins and invented new boogeymen when they could not find the ones they were certain to live in the shadows. Under Queen Virtue, they've been scattered to the wind.  The Caravan of the Coin:  Cursed by Ribbadon, Frog God of Wealth, these traveling merchant-clerics never arrive at a destination carrying what they expect.   Wrights of the Seventh Sun: A secret society dedicated to the construction of Zevunzolia, whatever the cost. Their motivations are many: Some believe that the Devils ought to have continued climbing whent hey escaped hell, that this was not the paradise earned. Others believe that Zevunzolia is telos of telos, the end-cause of all end-causes, and thus will inevitably bring itself into being. And given that, to do anything but aid it is to risk exclusion from it, or worse.  Hosted by Austin Walker (@austin_walker) Featuring Sylvi Clare (@sylvibullet) Produced by Ali Acampora (@ali_west) Music by Jack de Quidt (available on bandcamp) Text by Austin Walker Cover Art by Craig Sheldon (@shoddyrobot)

Eyes Your eyes are more complex than any camera on the planet! Cornea:  a concave lens on the front of your eye that focuses light Iris:  the colored part, a diaphragm that controls how much light comes in (the pupil is the hole the light enters = equivalent to the aperture of a camera) Lens:  the "focuser", uses a process called accommodation to focus near to far and make the image as sharp and clear as possible Retina:  the sensor, and sends signals to the brain to translate light into an images The retina has 2 types of sensors: Rods - detect light intensity Cones - color differentiation Two special areas of the retina: Macula - right in the middle of the retina, they place that detects the most detail (that's why the center of your vision field is a clearer picture than the periphery) Fovea - the center of the macula, it contains cones (color sensors) only to aid in the translation of very fine details Support structures Extra-ocular muscles - allows your eyes to move around in their holes There are chambers of fluid that are between each structure of the eye, and that fluid helps hold nutrients that feed those parts, and remove waste Choroid:  the layer that holds all the blood vessels that feed the eyes Sclera:  the whites of your eyes, an outer coating that hold everything inside Conjuntiva:  the mucus membrane that attaches the sclera to the eyelids; produces liquid for lubrication and trapping invaders PSA Please don't vigorously rub or scratch your eyes, you could hurt them!
