This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! Wisconsin is known for its beer, cheese, football, and breathtaking lakes. But hidden in the shadows of its towns and cities are stages where the final curtain never truly falls. For over a century, historic theaters across Wisconsin have entertained audiences, survived fires, weathered the Great Depression, and even outlived the actors who once graced their stages. Some are restored, some stand in decay, but many share one chilling common thread: ghosts that refuse to leave. Michael Brown and researcher Todd Dehring pull back the velvet curtain on Wisconsin's most haunted theaters. These are not just buildings; they are cultural landmarks infused with history, tragedy, laughter, and sorrow — emotions strong enough to imprint themselves on the very walls. From strange shadows in the balcony to unexplained voices echoing across empty stages, these theaters tell a story beyond their performances. Actors, projectionists, and even audience members who never left still seem to make their presence known. Paranormal investigators who have stepped into these spaces report intense energy, dramatic apparitions, and encounters that leave no doubt: the show must go on… even for the dead. This episode doesn't just explore Wisconsin folklore — it uncovers real hauntings tied to the state's historic theaters. Whether it's a spirit lingering backstage, a phantom light flickering where no bulb should glow, or the unmistakable sound of applause in an empty hall, these stories prove that the stage of the afterlife is alive and well in Wisconsin. This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! Is Wisconsin the most haunted state in America? Many paranormal investigators believe so — and filmmaker and investigator Michael Brown has the chilling stories to prove it. From rural towns to forgotten schools, Wisconsin is crawling with true ghost stories and unexplained hauntings. Brown has documented some of the most terrifying paranormal encounters, capturing evidence that suggests spirits are far more active here than anyone could have imagined. His work has taken him into abandoned classrooms where an entity followed him home — an attachment so disturbing it blurred the line between investigation and nightmare. And then there's the haunted radio station. Imagine working alone in a dark studio late at night, only to hear the voices of children echoing through the halls. Not on the air. Not through the speakers. But disembodied, spectral voices that seemed to come from nowhere… and everywhere at once. These are not urban legends or campfire tales. These are real investigations, real evidence, and real hauntings caught on camera. Michael Brown's journey across Wisconsin peels back the curtain on a state filled with restless spirits — from schoolhouses to radio towers, from shadowy hallways to spectral whispers in the night. If you thought Wisconsin was just about cheese curds and football, think again. Beneath its Midwestern charm lurks a world of supernatural activity that defies logic and sends even the bravest investigators running.

The third of six children, she attended the University of Chicago for three years, before deciding to wholeheartedly pursue an acting career. Billed as Marilu Henner, she originated the supporting role of Marty in the musical Grease at the University of Chicago's Community Theatre.Henner dropped out of school in 1972, in order to travel with the national company of Grease, at which time she carried on a highly publicized romance with co-star John Travolta. In 1976, she moved to New York, landing her first Broadway role in Over Here! Following a handful of forgettable stage performances, Henner made her cinematic debut as a stripper in the 1977 sleeper Between the Lines. In 1978, Henner landed the breakthrough role of her career on a new sitcom called Taxi. As single mother Elaine O'Connor-Nardo, she sought to gain entry to the exclusive professional and social circles of the fine arts world, while holding down a job as a cab driver and fending off the advances of her dispatcher, played by Danny DeVito. The popular show, which also starred Judd Hirsch and Tony Danza, aired for five seasons.A handful of film roles followed, including parts in Blake Edward's farce The Man Who Loved Women (1983), which starred Burt Reynolds, Kim Basinger and Julie Andrews, and the gangster spoof Johnny Dangerously (1984), with Michael Keaton. Over the next few years, Henner's body of work ranged from disappointing films like 1985's Perfect (which paired her with former beau John Travolta) to well-received comedies like L.A. Story (1991), starring Steve Martin and Patrick Stewart. In 1990, Henner found renewed TV success on the sitcom Evening Shade. She enjoyed a four-year run in her role as Ava Evans Newton, the wife of a high school athletics coach played by Burt Reynolds. In 1994, Henner hosted her own short-lived daily talk show, Marilu. Later that year, she published a revealing autobiography, By All Means Keep on Moving, in which she candidly discussed her sexual exploits with many of her Taxi co-stars, including Tony Danza and Judd Hirsch. In 1999, Henner played herself in the critically acclaimed film Man on the Moon, which documented the life of former Taxi cast member and famed comedian Andy Kaufman. She returned to the stage in 2000, headlining a national tour of the revival of Annie Get Your Gun.Henner has also ventured out into the realm of reality television. She served as host of the PBS series America's Ballroom Challenge (2006-09) and she competed in the first celebrity edition of Donald Trump's The Apprentice, aptly named Celebrity Apprentice, in 2008. She made it to Week 8 of the competition before getting fired, losing the chance to win the total prize for her charity, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. She returned in 2013 for All-Star Celebrity Apprentice, competing against the likes of Lil Jon, Trace Adkins and Dennis Rodman, among others. Although she lost yet again, she was able to last through Week 10 of the competition. During her second appearance on the show, Henner competed for The Alzheimer's Association.Henner has written and co-authored several books, including one on child rearing titled I Refuse to Raise a Brat: Straightforward Advice on Parenting in an Age of Overindulgence (1999). In addition, she has published two best-selling guides on health and beauty—The 30 Day Total Health Makeover (1999) and Healthy Life in the Kitchen (2000). Henner has also published several other books about health and fitness, including 2002's Healthy Holidays and 2012's Total Health Makeover, and has offered online classes to support her total health makeover program. Outside of her bestselling books, she has taken her stance on leading a healthy lifestyle to both the government and the classroom.Henner presented Congress with a dietary plan for children as part of the Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act of 2010. She has also spoken at various schools and organizations, encouraging others to speak out to the government against unhealthy living and eating habits. After the release of Total Health Makeover, Henner went on a book tour and appeared on several talk shows, including The View and Good Morning America, to further promote her healthy lifestyle lessons. In December 2010, Henner revealed that she had highly superior autobiographical memory (HSAM) during a segment on 60 Minutes. The condition, also known as Hyperthymesia, allows her to recall very specific moments in her life. She went on to talk about HSAM on several programs, showing off her hidden talent."You say April 3, 1992, and all of a sudden the whole week starts presenting itself to me," she told CBS. "That was a Friday and I was in New York, actually. Early that week I had won $1,760 at a winner-take-all Academy Awards pool. It was a clean sweep of the Oscars, Silence Of The Lambs, Jodie Foster."Neurobiologist James McGaugh began studying Henner's case of HSAM, along with others who have the same unusual memory patterns, in November 2009. The results were used in the television series Unforgettable for the character of Carrie Wells, a character inspired by Henner and played by Poppy Montgomery. In 1980, Henner wed Frederic Forrest; the couple divorced in 1982. She has two sons, Nicholas and Joseph, with her second husband, director/producer Robert Lieberman. The couple filed for divorce in June 2001. In December 2006, Henner wed Michael Brown, whom she had known in college.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.
Rex Heuermann is a 59-year-old architect from Massapequa Park, Long Island. He operated a Manhattan-based architectural firm, RH Consultants & Associates, and had over 30 years of experience in the field. He was described by neighbors as a typical family man, living with his wife and two adult children in a seemingly tight-knit community.Heuermann was arrested on July 13, 2023, as the prime suspect in the Gilgo Beach murders, a series of killings that took place over a decade ago. He was initially charged with the murders of three women: Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello. These women, along with Maureen Brainard-Barnes, who Heuermann was later charged with murdering, are known as the "Gilgo Four"The "Gilgo Four" were all sex workers who disappeared at different times and whose bodies were found bound and wrapped in burlap along a quarter-mile stretch of Gilgo Beach between 2007 and 2010. The remains of these women were discovered in December 2010 during the search for another missing woman, Shannan Gilbert.Evidence and InvestigationAuthorities linked Heuermann to the murders through several pieces of evidence:DNA Evidence: A male hair found on Megan Waterman's body was matched to Heuermann through DNA analysis.Burner Phones: Heuermann allegedly used burner phones to contact the victims and to search for information about the case.Internet Search History: His internet history showed an obsession with the Gilgo Beach case, including searches related to the victims and the investigation Defense and Legal ProceedingsHeuermann's defense attorney, Michael Brown, has raised questions about the involvement of former Suffolk County Police Chief James Burke in the investigation, alleging potential suppression of the FBI's involvement.Brown is also exploring the possibility of another suspect, a former police officer with the initials "W.H.," which matched initials found on a belt related to one of the victims.Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to all charges and maintains his innocence. The case is complex, with a vast amount of evidence to be reviewed, and a trial is still a long way from taking place. Now, however, as more details are revealed, Rex Heuermann is about to be charged with two more murders. Jessica Taylor And Valerie Mack. TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️ These podcasts examine and discuss suicide and associated trauma. If you have been affected by anything in these podcasts, you can contact the Samaritans on 116 123 For several years now, the levels of mental health and well-being within the UK police have been in decline. Many will argue that this is a result of an ever-increasing workload, a reduction in capacity and experience, underfunding, and a perception that social and mainstream media proactively portray a negative narrative of law enforcement within the UK. Additionally, lenient sentencing, poor organizational practices, and the disproportionate time spent on officers under investigation have contributed to create a perfect storm. In this short series of podcasts, I will be looking at the rising trend of police officers taking their own lives. I will be speaking with a variety of people to put a spotlight on police suicide, the reasons behind it, and hopefully how we can halt its rise. In this first episode, retired police officers Michael Brown, Richard Horton and Dave Thomas discuss the various aspect's of police work in general, and how it and the organisation influenced their own wellbeing. South Carolina gubernatorial candidate Nancy Mace went viral after leaving an Epstein victims' hearing in tears, later revealing she suffers from clithrophobia—an intense fear of being trapped or confined. While critics mocked her and supporters offered sympathy, the story highlighted her own history as a sexual abuse survivor with an active state investigation still open. Whatever the truth of that case, her emotional exit underscored just how heavy the Epstein revelations remain for anyone who hears them. But the fallout quickly shifted to the media. CNN's Brian Stelter lashed out—not because of the tragedy itself, but because conservatives were able to elevate the story online, bypassing mainstream gatekeepers. Outlets like X accounts Libs of TikTok, End Wokeness, and DC Draino now have audiences dwarfing CNN's reach, and Stelter admitted he was furious that social media could set the agenda. His outrage revealed the deeper truth: the old media monopoly on narrative control is gone. For years, outlets like CNN manufactured false storylines—Trayvon Martin as an innocent teen gunned down “for Skittles,” or Michael Brown's mythical “Hands Up, Don't Shoot.” Both were proven false in court and by federal investigations, yet the lies fueled years of racial division, riots, and judicial bias. Judges and magistrates, shaped by those false media narratives, now hesitate to punish violent criminals, seeing them only as victims of systemic oppression. The cycle continues—lies at the top, chaos at the bottom. Now, with social media bypassing censorship, the truth spreads faster than legacy outlets can contain it. Videos, court records, and eyewitness accounts travel directly to the people, undermining the old gatekeepers. Stelter's meltdown wasn't about crime or justice—it was about losing control of the story.
In this episode, we cover a staggering range of issues—from the Epstein document saga and Nancy Mace's emotional reaction to victims' testimony, to major national security threats posed by the Sinaloa cartel and China's role in the chemical opioid war. First, we break down the ongoing controversy over Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. Mike Johnson defends Trump, clarifying that the president never called Epstein's crimes a hoax, but has been frustrated with media misrepresentation and Democrats weaponizing the issue for political purposes. Despite promises of massive document releases, most of the Epstein files have been recycled content, creating a self-inflicted public relations problem. Next, South Carolina gubernatorial candidate Nancy Mace left an Epstein victims' hearing visibly shaken, later revealing she suffers from clithrophobia, an intense fear of being trapped. Her candid explanation highlights the emotional toll these hearings take—not just on survivors, but on those with personal trauma histories. We then pivot to the war on crime and drugs, speaking with former DEA Special Operations Chief Derek Maltz about the unprecedented crackdown on the Sinaloa cartel. The episode explores how Chinese criminal networks supply precursors for deadly synthetic opioids like fentanyl, xylazine, and other potent chemicals, while funneling billions through U.S. banks and buying American real estate. Derek Maltz details how cartel operations, combined with Chinese interference, have contributed to a nationwide public health crisis—particularly affecting children and young Americans. Finally, we examine media hypocrisy and narrative control. From Brian Stelter's outrage over social media amplifying conservative perspectives to the ongoing exposure of fake crime narratives like Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, this episode shows how mainstream outlets have historically manipulated public perception while social media disrupts the narrative monopoly.

Mike Blackhall shared about Tychicus, a faithful friend of Paul who was trusted to carry messages and encourage others. He reminded us that we can also be like Tychicus—faithful, helpful, and willing to share the Good News with those around us. When we choose to be encouragers, we help others stay strong in their faith. Michael Brown shared how Simon of Cyrene, an ordinary man just passing by, was chosen to carry Jesus' cross—a powerful reminder that God often uses those who seem forgotten. He reminded us that God still works through “nobodies” today to do unforgettable things. When we say yes to God, our faith can leave a lasting impact on future generations.

Melvyn Bragg and guests discuss John Barbour's epic poem The Brus, or Bruce, which he wrote c1375. The Brus is the earliest surviving poem in Older Scots and the only source of many of the stories of King Robert I of Scotland (1274-1329), popularly known as Robert the Bruce, and his victory over the English at Bannockburn in 1314. In almost 14,000 lines of rhyming couplets, Barbour distilled the aspects of the Bruce's history most relevant for his own time under Robert II (1316-1390), the Bruce's grandson and the first of the Stewart kings, when the mood was for a new war against England after decades of military disasters. Barbour's battle scenes are meant to stir in the name of freedom, and the effect of the whole is to assert Scotland as the rightful equal of any power in Europe.WithRhiannon Purdie Professor of English and Older Scots at the University of St AndrewsSteve Boardman Professor of Medieval Scottish History at the University of EdinburghAndMichael Brown Professor of Scottish History at the University of St AndrewsProducer: Simon TillotsonReading list:John Barbour (ed. This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! If you ask veteran paranormal investigator Michael Brown, Wisconsin isn't just haunted—it's practically a full-state séance waiting to happen. Over two decades of filming and investigating, Brown has collected chilling evidence everywhere from one-room schoolhouses to late-night radio studios. In a rural classroom he watched glimmering figures dart between desks—only to discover the presence had followed him home, tugging at his jacket long after the final bell. At a small-town station, engineers swear they hear children giggling through the monitors even when every mic is dead. Add abandoned asylums echoing with phantom footsteps, lakeside taverns where barstools slide on their own, and farmhouses where the attic light flicks on at 3 a.m. like clockwork, and the Badger State starts looking like the nation's supernatural capital. Join us as Michael Brown maps Wisconsin's ghostly hotspots and tackles the question: has America's Dairyland quietly become America's most haunted state? This is Part Two of our conversation.
