In 2011, TIM THOMAS put on one of the greatest Stanley Cup goaltending performances in NHL history! He led the Boston Bruins to their 6th Stanley Cup setting the NHL record for most saves during the Stanley Cup playoffs, winning the Conn Smyth Trophy as the 'Most Valuable Player' of the 2011 Stanley Cup in the process. Thomas became the oldest player to win this award. Tim's hockey career to develop into one of the game's greatest goalies is one of perseverance and courage. He did not become a starting NHL Goaltender for the Bruins until he was 31 years old but then went on to play in 4 NHL All Star games, won two Vezina Trophies as the NHL's most outstanding Goaltender and of course, his Stanley Cup and Conn Smyth Trophies in 2011. His playing days came to a close after suffering a life altering concussion and sustaining brain damage that went undiagnosed until after his career ended. As he did as a player, Tim has shown great courage and fortitude in his life after hockey in moving forward with the challenges and effects of this injury. Now living a quiet, peaceful life in Vermont, he does not speak often publicly about his playing days or about his life after hockey, so we are very happy to be able to share his incredible story & memories with you today. (including a great story of his encounter with Alex Ovechkin at the NHL All Star Game) Tim Thomas was a brave, courageous hockey player, and he remains a brave and courageous human being - Enjoy our conversation...!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Next, B&B zoom out to look at the NHL as a whole alongside ESPN's Greg Wyshynski (24:36). Wysh weighs in on future NHL “All-Star” events, the league's playoff format, possible expansion, Alex Ovechkin's chase of history, and obviously, the Leafs “lucky” win over Colorado. What a day. What a week. What a year it's already been. Staying in the teens today & tomorrow…maybe back into the 20's this weekend. We kicked things off this morning with news about a canned tuna recall, President Trump issuing another Executive Order, a woman in Altoona getting sentenced to 15 years in prison for her role in the homicide of a man in 2022, the recent Amber Alert in Wisconsin has been extended to Missouri, and a possible name change for Greenland. In sports, we talked about tonight's Bucks game against the Timberwolves, and the Badgers game on Saturday at Purdue. Kevin Durant became the 8th player in NBA history to score 30,000 points in a career, and a look at the Super Bowl viewership numbers on Sunday. And speaking of numbers during the big game, check out the PornHub stats from Sunday evening. Elsewhere in sports, we hooked you up with details about this weekend's NBA All-Star game, and the 4 Nations Face-Off taking the place of this year's NHL All-Star game. We let you know what's on the boob tube tonight and also had a crazy story about a hockey dad that lost his mind and assaulted two pre-teen referees at his son's game. On the flipside of that, cool story about a waitress in New Orleans who got a rather large tip from Post Malone during last weekend's Super Bowl activities in the Big Easy, and a son who has now saved his father's life not once…but TWICE! Got to some more Valentine's Day stats & info, including some of the trends in 2025. Have you ever heard about "sex days"?? Might be something to ask about at your next job interview. Had a couple of food-related items this morning, including Papa Johns Garlic Butter Bath Bombs, and a list of some of the Valentine's Day deals you can take advantage of at some chain restaurants. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a woman in Canada who wants a refund after she gave a psychic over $50,000 to help her find true love, a hunter who was using a camouflaged porta-potty deer blind, a #FloridaMan who crashed into several mailboxes with his riding lawnmower, and a dude in Australia who makes a living by farting.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
