Comedian Justine Stafford came into us this week and quickly derailed the entire episode with talk of Banshee Bones, Joe Dolan and incels. She told us about her journey into comedy and attending two college courses at once, which makes sense when you consider how many points she got in her leaving cert. Her time at college did her no harm and gave her some much needed real life experience to avoid mishaps with tampons, bus drivers and ATMs.Phil Mitchell gets a lot of love in this episode and we're still not sure why, you'll just have to listen to find out.Sponsored by FBT Gyms.

Following on from last week's show about the Daycare Centre's continued closure, I was out and about at Friday's protest organized by Cllr Geraldine Donoghue. The protest was attended by a great crowd of very passionate people, including Cllr Declan Kelly, past-users of the service - Asastasia Ward and friends and family of past-users like Phil Mitchell and Orla Burke. All had stories to tell of how great the centre was and how it is so badly missed. All said how unhappy they are with the situation, that our older generation was being let down and people had to come out and show support. Following on from that I called into the Temperance Hall where the Rugby Club Bingo has returned, great crowd. Paddy and Gerry and the gang brought me through how they coped during Covid and how they were getting on since they returned, it was brilliant to see it back again. Well done lads.

Sleepyhead's $1.2 billion mixed development at Ohinewai in the Waikato has got the green light after an eight-month resource consent process for rezoning. The master plan for an industrial, residential and commercial development on 178 hectares requires rezoning from rural in the proposed Waikato District Plan. The proposed development is headed by Comfort Group, Australasia's biggest bedding and foam maker that manufactures the Sleepyhead brand and other products, and its property arm Ambury Properties. The development is to include industrial, commercial, and residential zones. It intends on developing a master-planned mixed-use community over the next 10 years with 1100 homes for up to 3000 residents, and a new factory creating up to 2600 new jobs. The decision on the company's rezoning submission on the Proposed Waikato District Plan has been under deliberation since hearings in September last year, when submitters presented their case to independent commissioners Dr Phil Mitchell, Paul Cooney, Dynes Fulton and Weo Maag. The decision is open to appeal for 30 working days.Director of The Comfort Group, Craig Turner, acknowledged the significance of the rezoning decision for both the project and the entire Waikato region."The decision today marks a major milestone for the project. The vision behind The Sleepyhead Estate is to create a genuine community in a beautiful setting for people who want an affordable, quality home, a stable job and a thriving community they can be part of."We want to create a legacy that will continue to add long term value not only to The Comfort Group but to the part of Waikato District, including Huntly, that we have chosen to make the new corporate home for The Comfort Group after nine decades in Auckland."The Ohinewai site presents a unique opportunity to bring an existing, proven, and thriving industry to the district, along with the immediate and future associated job opportunities that will drive the economic development of a region strategically situated in The Golden Triangle between Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga."Over the past 20 months, the project team led by Craig and Graeme Turner has been working through the consultation, rezoning and consenting processes required to begin work on site."With a development of this size and scale, it takes considerable time to step through the regulatory process that is required and this, in turn, will be reflected in the project timelines," said Craig Turner."The Comfort Group very much appreciates the detailed and thorough work of the Hearing Panel, and for enabling the complex decisions in relation to the Ohinewai rezoning to be considered in advance of the rest of the district plan."I would also like to thank the Waikato community and local organisations who have taken an interest in the project; your support and involvement has been crucial to progress to this stage and will continue to be crucial to the future success of The Sleepyhead Estate."We are working in close collaboration with iwi and mana whenua of Ohinewai through the Tangata Whenua Governance Group, to ensure that their environmental, cultural and spiritual values are appropriately recognised and provided for, and the development is beneficial to all parties," concluded Mr Turner.Waikato district mayor Allan Sanson said: "This will mean a major boost for the communities of Ohinewai and Huntly, as well as for the whole Waikato district. It will bring jobs, revitalise the northern Waikato with affordable new housing, and encourage other commercial investment in the area."It's a tremendous stimulus for the Council's vision to create liveable, thriving and connected communities as New Zealand continues to navigate COVID-19 and uncertain economic times ahead."The Council's general manager community growth Clive Morgan said development at Ohinewai would help achieve the Council's 'Waikato 2070' growth and economic development strategy and would deliver a substantial inc...

How do we plan to "Slay in our Lane" (s/o Yomi Adegoke & Elizabeth Uviebinené) in the upcoming decade? And the biggest question: how much will Nate drink on his Phil Mitchell tour of the north?
Where it all started for me with running, especially since my high school days are over I still continue to be a competitive runner and involve myself with other professional runner to learn from them and also train with them. I remember just starting to run like if it was yesterday for me as a freshmen in Hartford public high school, our team logo was the owls and we also were called the pubs and everybody knew us because of back in the day when lindy remigino was around through his legendary days and also coaching the old Hartford public cross country and track and field team. I remember looking for the cross country coach one day outside in the back where the track was which where I met my coach Phil Mitchell also one of the very best and legendary coach that runs for @heartbeattrackclub and his best friend donn Cabral which where I met donn through my coach because my coach was preparing me for my prime and mindset and physical as a distance runner. My senior was the best year I had and will be one of the best I remembered. I didn’t ran fast but I remember breaking 17:00 at the JB WILLIAM COURSE which was one of the proudest moments I had in my life. Also running low 18’s at the state course Wickham park Manchester Connecticut, till this day it’s one of the hardest course. Anyways we’re here to talk about how running is part of my lifestyle and how it change my life so much which hope you can relate and connect with me and share your awesome story of how running change your life or lifestyle or how it reward you. Coach Phil was always there through all my high school years. He saw a vision in me something that I didn’t see. I got competitive the more I kept running in high school and especially when coach Phil got me in that state of mental and physical. He knew my senior was going to be my best year I start to win races. He told me running can save a bad day and running rewards you and can get you far. I trust that process and the program we went by in Hartford public. I was committed 4 years of cross country and indoor track and field and outdoor track and field. Imagine all those miles I put in something that you can do. Imagine all those miles reward you at the end. So start now don’t stop running because I haven’t stop running. I joined the MRC USA track and field Connecticut club. You can also join at www.manchesterrunningcompany.com it was a team that I join because there’s a lot of runners that have the same goal and the same way to get the same spot and location. I thank you for listening to episode 1 and there’s going to be a lot of episode coming soon that I would love to share. Please share my podcast with anybody that love listening to stories. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Jose Mourinho is not happy. In other not news, Spurs are having trouble with the builders and could it be the end of the world as La Liga heads to the Wild West. Plus Barnsley Football Club might not be the most supported club in the world, but it could be the most supportive of you. On The Left Side is written and produced by Ant McGinley and Jim Salveson, There's also video content we make out there on youtube which you can watch The theme tune is written and performed by Katalina Kicks and appears with their kind permission. Other music in this episode: Steffen Daum - Between Dragons and Humans, and Solo Acoustic Guitar by Jason Shaw, appear under creative commons 3.0 license SFX made in-house and from Follow us on twitter @ontheleftside ----- SHOW194TRANSCRIPT This isn't a Manchester United podcast. Really, I promise. I do TRY and talk about other football clubs but, somehow, the complete shit-stormory of Manchester United somehow always draws me back in... and for that you have Jose Mourinho to thank. There is more drama right now at Old Trafford than your average episode of Eastenders and as much pent up anger as a Phil Mitchell meltdown. Although you wouldn't know it when you listened to the big man who is saying all the right things... even when it comes to the tensions between Jose and Paul Pogba. "Couldn't be happier with Paul Pogba" I mean he's SAYING all the right things he's just clearly not MEANING all the right things. Maybe football managers just don't understand the emotion "Happy". Certainly it seemed to be something that Pep Guardiola struggled with last season. Maybe something is getting lost in translation somewhere and these foreign managers don't actually understand what happy means. Could they think it actually is another word for miserable? Or lonely? or suffering from a terrible existential crisis? Or maybe its just not a very "footbally" word is it. DELIGHTED with the win. BUZZING for the boys. THRILLED to be joining the club but "Happy"... nah, doesn't fit does it. You'd think that if he was REALLY happy with Pogba he'd have congratulated him on his World Cup winners medal rather than publicly used his excellent showing on the world stage to suggest he maybe wasn't giving his all for the boys in Red wouldn't you... at least he hasn't had a go at his haircut yet, he can leave that to Graeme Souness's weekly whinge. Really Jose should just be happy that his team has somewhere to play football right now because Mauricio Pochettino can't say the same! Tottenham Hotspur now know what anyone who has ever worked with a builder before knows... predicted costs and times of work carried out bare as much resemblance to reality as the picture of a Big Mac on the McDonalds drive through menu does to the soggy, sweaty lump of a sandwich that gets shoved through the drive-thru window 10mins before closing time. With virtually no grasp on the concept of irony Spurs have chosen the same week in which they announced their lucrative new deal with "official timing partner" Swiss watchmakers IWC Schaffhausen they have also revealed that the opening of White Hart Lane the sequel has been postponed again... presumably because everyone was too busy trying to copy that weird celebration thing that Dele Alli did with his hand last weekend? Not such a bad thing you'd think as they'll just up sticks and play down the local park instead... or Wembley or something. However, with the NFL rolling into town in a few weeks to play in the national stadium it DOES leave the club potentially homeless for their up-coming match against Manchester City. Time to call in the big boys. "This week on DIY SOS we lend a helping hand to Daniel who has been forced to stay with neighbours for over a year now after his ambitious plans for home improvements over-ran. And It took a turn for the worst for Daniel last week when Jack from Birmingham let him down at the last minute leaving him very short of manpower....
This week on 'Beale With It' Denny takes another starring role as the bratty son of Sharon, Step-Son of Phil, Grandson of Dirty Den and product of incest. The Carters experience life without Stu, it's pretty dull. The Slaters still can't put two and two together and The Sad House are bout to become a whole lot sadder as Honey prepares to move in. Our search for the best dad on the square in Top of the Pops continues as we put Phil Mitchell on the podium, and all our regular features are here too, from EastEnders Sentence Enders to Who 20, Me 20! This week's famous Albert Square-Off sees Big Boi Phil Mitchell take on the listener's champion - Keanu in a battle some are I am describing as 'it's almost done with'. Episode #16 is Part Four of the Talk and Beans Christmas Spectacular 2016. Scott and Tom sit down and talk about all things Christmas, including their favourite Songs, Movies, Decorations and Presents. The boys also open gifts from each other during the Podcast and dive into plenty of random talk throughout from Scott’s story about nearing killing Michael Caine to the ultimate Christmas Dinner. Also, for some reason plenty of attempts of a ridiculous Owen Wilson impression, as well as a mixed bag of Kermit the Frog, Michael Caine, Arnie, Danny Dyer, Phil Mitchell….it all made sense at the time.
Episode #8 is another wrestling overload for the Talk and Beans boys as Scott and Tom discuss the biggest party of the summer and it's pre drinks (NXT) and it's afterparty (Raw). Hear them discuss the new title, match results and the future after Balor's injury and Bayley's call up. Plus, ridiculous impressions of Phil Mitchell and of wrestlers promoting the podcast. It all makes sense when you listen to it, sort of.
