Hoy vamos a iniciar una serie de programas dedicados a la Ruta 66 y al mejor rock americano en La Gran Travesía. Mientras esperamos la oportunidad de poder realizar la mítica ruta 66 que cruza y atraviesa casi todo Estados Unidos, vamos a ir haciendo dicha ruta musical acompañados con los mejores grupos del rock clásico americano a lo largo de todo el recorrido, con los mejores vídeos y canciones. En este primer programa vamos a recorrer Chicago y el estado de Illinois y parte del estado de Missouri. Tachtig procent van de leden van fusiepartij GroenLinks-PvdA stemde dit weekend op het ledencongres voor een aangescherpte Israël-koers. Dit tot onvrede en soms verdriet van een groep (veelal oudere) prominente partijleden. Maar, benadrukte partijleider Frans Timmermans, 'een meerderheid van de leden beslist welke richting we op gaan.' Wie is deze 'nieuwe meerderheid' die de koers van GroenLinks-PvdA nu bepaalt, en hoe zien hun ideologische veren eruit?  Voor deze podcast legden we contact met een aantal relatief jonge en actieve leden van GroenLinks en de PvdA. Wat opvalt is dat zij het congres van dit weekend als positief, inspirerend en strijdbaar hebben ervaren en ook zeer enthousiast zijn over Frans Timmermans.  Nynke de Zoeten, politiek verslaggever voor Nieuwsuur, die ook op het congres was, herkent dat beeld. Het was volgens haar een 'heel optimistisch congres.' Maar de discussie die is ontstaan over de motie-Piri, over de Israël-koers, is volgens haar geen goede start van de campagne.  'Timmermans heeft juist in de Tweede Kamer vaak gezegd dat we niet in een land moeten leven waar alleen de mening van de meerderheid geldt, dat het er ook om gaat hoe je met minderheden omgaat. Quizá muchos recuerden las imágenes apocalípticas que se registraron a fines de 2021 y comienzos de 2022, cuando el incendio más grande de la historia del Uruguay arrasó con 37.000 hectáreas en Paysandú y Río Negro. Campos, viviendas, empresas, animales, árboles… pérdidas gigantescas. O muchos, capaz, tienen en sus retinas los grandes incendios que suelen afectar al icónico Cerro del Toro en Piriápolis cada verano. Para que se hagan una idea: se estima que emplear un helicóptero para descargar agua sobre zonas incendiadas cuesta no menos de 2.400 dólares por jornada de vuelo, según datos aportados por la Universidad Tecnológica (UTEC). El costo de recuperación y combate es elevado. Y a eso se suma el trabajo a destajo que realizan Bomberos, militares, personal médico, policía. Por eso, prevenir y gestionar el riesgo es clave. Y la tecnología ayuda cada vez más en este camino. En eso está trabajando nuestro entrevistado: José Sasías es ingeniero, docente e investigador. Profesor Adjunto de la carrera Ingeniería en Mecatrónica de la UTEC en Fray Bentos y responsable del Área de Sistemas Inteligentes y Ciberfísicos. En ese marco es que viene desarrollando un sistema especializado de prevención de incendios que integra la Inteligencia artificial y apunta a optimizar la gestión local de incendios forestales, además de posicionar a Uruguay como referente global en tecnologías aplicadas a la prevención de emergencias ambientales.

The Piri Reis Map, created in 1513 by Ottoman admiral Piri Reis, is a fragment of a world map discovered in 1929 at Istanbul's Topkapi Palace. Drawn on gazelle skin, it depicts parts of Europe, Africa, South America, and the Atlantic with surprising detail for its time. Compiled from older maps, some dating back to ancient Greece, it has sparked debates over its depiction of a possible ice-free Antarctica, suggesting lost knowledge.
