The Silicon Valley Bank collapse isn't quite 2008 yet — but it's pretty bad, and so is the federal government's response. Brad & Hannah break down the root causes of the SVB collapse, from the Federal Reserve to mismanagement to regulations. Then, they analyze the Biden administration's response in insuring all SVB depositors, even the big-money ones who exceed the existing FDIC coverage. Will this still hurt taxpayers even though Janet Yellen and her buddies are insisting it won't? And what kind of incentives will this establish going forward? Then, Hannah brings Brad up to speed on the president's latest move to push ESG, woke politicized investment strategy, onto half of America's retirement plans. Will Republicans be able to stop this insanity? Finally, they run through some quick hits, like Gretchen Whitmer admitting she got lockdowns wrong and some viral TikToks on white privilege and racism. They round out the show by reacting to viewer comments and offering up some hot takes. Like the podcast? Our job as parents is to create functional adults that other humans want to be around. If your kids are annoying to you, there's a good chance they are annoying AF to other people. If they have crying fits with you every time something doesn't go their way, there's a chance this is how they will behave with other people when they are older. It is our responsibility to recognize these patterns and correct them to ensure we are equipping our kids with the skills to handle life.Your kids will undoubtedly face adversities, disappointments, objections, rejections, and other unpleasant situations. But as adults, we know these are important for growth, and we shouldn't, therefore, be shielding them from them. This episode is about expectations that get you in trouble. Probably as much as 99% of the stuff you are angry about in life is your problem because you have wrong expectations. There are some things we generally consider disappointing:- when people are unkind- when people take advantage of others (especially those who are less able)- when people tear down the success of others- when people think that they're owed something- when your kids or spouse make a bad choice that impacts your familyBut today, we're talking about the disappointments we face due to a lack of sharing our expectations and communicating them. Especially when it comes to relationships, partnerships, friendships… Because just because you expected something or someone to be/behave in a certain way doesn't make it OK for you to be super disappointed if they are not. So, do you have invisible expectations? Are your expectations too high? We hope this episode will motivate you to check your expectations in any sphere of your life - yourself, your marriage, your job, your loved ones... Maybe it's time to change some of the things you expect. Or it's time for some tough conversations and redefining relationships with some people. Or you should go look and explore other employment opportunities. Also, if you're taking things for granted (like expecting that no one you love will die or that you won't catch a severe illness), maybe it's time to slow down and be grateful. It will also help you avoid falling into the trap of victimhood when some devastating and disappointing things happen. There are so many reasons to tune in for this episode.Let's dive in right now!Key Takeaways- Intro (00:00)- Where would Martin Luther King be without Caretta? (02:11)- What expectations do people have that make them upset? (08:03)- What are the most disappointing things in life - the case of Jeffrey Dahmer?
