Today's guest Real Bad Man, is an artist who has caught my attention in recent years because he checks two important boxes for what I typically gravitate to in music. The first box is that I'm an album guy. And when it comes to the type of albums I prefer, I'm a cohesiveness whore. I love it when an album has a consistent musical identity, with thoughtful sequencing and transitions that make the experience flow seamlessly from top to bottom. It's for these reasons that Real Bad Man has impressed me because his respect for the album format is clear, creating cohesive full-length musical experiences with the likes of Boldy James, ZelooperZ, Pink Siifu, Lukah, Willie the Kid, and more. But as you will soon find out if you listen on, there's more to Real Bad Man's creative arc than meets the eye. In today's episode, the LA-based producer enigma delves into his unique multi-disciplinary journey from art director at Stüssy to prolific producer, his love for the album format, the trademark RBM sound, working with Boldy James, and more! The Plug (0:55). The Interview (2:45). The genesis of the multi-media Real Bad Man creative project (2:52). How Real Bad Man returned to music with Real Bad Boldy (14:04). The cross-pollination within fashion design and music (21:16). Real Bad Man's love for the album format (27:15). The trademark Real Bad Man sound (30:12). Producing the musically-rich, Temple Needs Water., with Lukah (35:41). The ideal collaborator for Real Bad Man (42:56). The special chemistry between Boldy James and Real Bad Man (47:32). ORLANDO – Enterprise Connect 2025 – As mobile numbers increasingly become the universal gateway for digital interaction, ensuring trust, accuracy, and identity integrity has never been more vital. In a Technology Reseller News podcast recorded live at Enterprise Connect, Lloyd Tjom, Director of Sales for North America at iconectiv, sat down with Doug Green to discuss how the company is helping carriers and enterprises battle fraud and deliver secure, trusted communications. “iconectiv is a technology company that provides information as a service to the global communications industry,” Tjom explained. “We help providers properly route traffic—voice, messaging, data—while addressing key challenges like Know Your Customer (KYC), Know Your Business (KYB), and fraud prevention.” As over 3 billion people now rely on their mobile phone numbers as their primary digital identity, mobile becomes both the portal to opportunity—and a prime target for fraud. “There are billions of phone numbers worldwide, and with that comes billions of opportunities for criminals,” said Tjom. “From spoofed banks and pharmacies to deepfaked executives, bad actors are using AI and voice cloning to launch increasingly sophisticated scams.” A chilling example cited by Tjom: in January 2024, an employee at a Hong Kong-based firm was tricked into transferring $25 million after participating in a video call with AI-generated replicas of her company's executives—including the CFO. Enter Rich Business Messaging (RBM), iconectiv's answer to restoring trust. Built on the Rich Communication Services (RCS) standard, RBM enables frictionless, secure interactions between businesses and consumers directly through a phone's native messaging app. Unlike SMS, RBM is equipped with built-in verification, brand logos, and drift detection—which helps ensure the message is coming from the legitimate sender and not a fraudster. “RBM combines a rigorous vetting process with network-level authentication. That means consumers can trust that a message is truly from their bank, airline, or pharmacy—not a criminal,” said Tjom. “When trust is broken, it damages brand equity. Studies show 71% of customers stop buying from companies that break their trust.” For consumers, the result is greater peace of mind. For businesses, RBM reduces cart abandonment, enhances customer experience (CX), and strengthens loyalty. According to Tjom, 87% of customers actively avoid brands they don't trust—making RBM not just a security measure, but a competitive advantage. From fighting AI-enhanced fraud to improving compliance and CX, iconectiv is helping reshape the mobile identity landscape for enterprises and carriers alike. We here at Dad Bod Rap Pod like nothing more than when an established artist takes a big swing, and makes an ambitious record outside of their comfort zone. That is certainly the circumstance that our guests this week find themselves in. For their first collaborative project, entitled Temple Needs Water Village Needs Peace, Memphis rapper Lukah and LA-based producer Real Bad Man have cooked up a compelling exploration of history and myth. The album, out March 29th, with some exclusive snippets debuting here, exists in its own unique sonic landscape, and Lukah brings his storytelling prowess to the forefront. We're excited about this swerve in direction from two artists we have interviewed before and whose work we admire. We also spend a few minutes with RBM breaking down last year's Serpent album with Kool Keith, an unexpected late-career triumph for the artist formerly known as Rhythm X. In the intro segment, hosts Nate LeBlanc, David Ma and Demone Carter name some of their favorite one MC + one producer albums and after the interview, we get into some of our least favorite of those kind of projects, something we talk about about often but don't usually record. Our theme song was produced by the homie Cutso and rapped by DEM ONE. This episode was mixed by Taylor Weng. DBRP is a palm tree on Stony Island, the single best hip-hop related audio platform to ever exist.

Hear about a duck named Winston, the best costumes, and the dearth of interesting faire food. Is the New Jersey Renaissance Faire something you have to do before you die? Listen and find out! CELESTE This episode is dedicated in loving memory to Brittany's niece Celeste Perry, who tragically passed several weeks ago. Celeste was smart, filled with personality and attitude, and had a wonderfully dark sense of humor at a young age. She was a little girl who loved cats, unicorns, paw patrol, and had just developed a fascination for the Super Mario Brothers. She was also very strong, very brave, and determined to communicate and connect. When illness took her ability to speak, she fought and found a way to do so despite the complications. Celeste unfortunately suffered from Reducing Body Myopathy, an incredibly rare genetic condition that causes a breakdown of the muscular system. RBM is such a rare & little known disease that it doesn't have a significant level of public awareness or spokesperson to lead research fundraising. When I went to uni, there was a course which looked at management skills and entrepreneurship, this module was taken by more than just the agriculture students, there was also RBM, activity, tourism, and outdoor pursuits. On that activity tourism group there was a lad called Dylan Goodison. We spent an hour or so together on a project and apart from that I barely knew him! Since we left uni, it's been inspiring, watching Dylan's travels throughout the globe to 59 countries, including a trip to the top of Kilimanjaro, learning various cultures and religions, and some dangerous stories on the way too! One of the many things I found interesting during this discussion was the parallels I in particular was able to pinpoint between our astronomically different lives! For me Arran was and always will be a home but I knew I had to leave to achieve, what at that point I didn't fully know but turned out to be creating content both for academia and social media, for Dylan Wexford holds the same emotions and travel was his future. After finding that thing Dylan has sunk everything he has into it, money, time and energy to the point of social sacrifice but with ALMOST no regrets, me the same. The most striking to me was reconvening with that idea of a forever home in Arran and Wexford for myself and Dylan respectively. We both love those places for the supportive upbringing they offered us before openly accepting and assisting in our leaving of it for self betterment. We both love the idea of going back but don't think it'll be permanent, certainly for some time. In recent times, Dylan has spent a lot of his travels with his partner Celtia and watching from the sidelines, it has been a pleasure to see them travel together, bring out the best in each other and experience what is currently almost half of the planet. Tonight we welcome Dylan and Celtia to talk about raw global travel field by broadening their understanding of global culture by getting to know small communities the world over by living there and acting as a welcomed member of that community. This isn't a jump off a plane at an airport, tick that country of the list story… Celtia, studied translating to monetise her tri-lingual ability which had Ed and I feeling inspired yet lazy and questioning the failings of our nation that purely assumes “everyone else will know English”. Translation wasn't for her but she continued her studies and finds herself carrying out an MSc in Social Policies and a migration Studies! My now favourite couple find themselves for 6 months in Mexico split into 3 2 month stints in different parts with various plans for what's next!
Dr Sarah Court Devilliers, allergologue à Dijon. Meet 7-year old Greyson AKA DUCKIE! Duckie and his family might not have even been on Bert's Big Adventure had it not been for apartment hunting! We'll explain… In December 2014, Greyson was born. Right after he was born, doctors found a brain bleed with signs of a stroke. Greyson having hypoplastic left heart syndrome meant he had half a working heart, and treatment included a series of 3 open heart surgeries. 13 days after being born, he had his 1st surgery with a 75% chance of survival. Five months later, he had his 2nd open heart surgery. When Greyson was removed from a respirator for the first-time weeks after being born, his crying sounded more like quacking. Nikki said he was her little Duckie, and the name has stuck ever since. He grew to love and embrace the nickname. Our friends at Rule One Investing heard that Duckie is a BIG Go-Cart enthusiast so they decided to partner up with RBM of Alpharetta and K1 Speed Indoor Karting to make sure he gets to enjoy his need for speed! RBM of Alpharetta, Rule One Investing and K1 Speed have a surprise for Duckie. He's getting a brand new K1 Speed racing uniform to ride in style at K1 Speed, Duckie's favorite kart racing facility that is donating an Adrenaline Pass, which includes a 1-year membership and up to 25 races for free! Plus indoor racing gloves, t-shirts and a trucker hat! AND last but not least…a new GoCart you can use at home, along with a helmet of course! Safety first :) Big thanks to Rule One for providing our family with a one of a kind VIP race-car experience for Duckie and his whole family on a pro racetrack in Rule One's official race car and driver! Meet Malakai! Malakai loves Judy from Zootopia, McDonald's chicken nuggets and fries, the color orange and football!Malakai was diagnosed with High-Grade Diffuse Glioma: high-grade gliomas are tumors of the glial cells, cells found in the brain andspinal cord. They are called “high-grade” because the tumors are fast-growing and they spread quickly through brain tissue, which makes them hard to treat. The tumors occur in children of all ages, from infants to adults. In February 2021, the family was having a typical weekday morning when Malakai stood up, stared off into space, and started drooling. They rushed him to the emergency room but were unable to get a diagnosis. However, several additional episodes followed shortly thereafter, and his primary doctor recommended he see a specialist to get an MRI. Following the MRI, his mom, Candice, got a shocking generic notification from MyChart that said he had a “mass” in his brain. During this time, his mom, who was pregnant, suffered a miscarriage. After a second MRI, a 10-hour surgery was scheduled for a week later and about 2 weeks later, they received the news that he would need proton radiation. Malakai's biological father passed away when he was only 2 years old. He is currently undergoing treatment and misses being able to get together with his friends, playing football, and being with his teammates and coaches. When RBM of Alpharetta and Mercedes-Benz Stadium heard Malakai's story- they teamed up with the Falcons to provide an awesome experience for Malakai so he can spend more time with his friends andteammates. This fall, Malakai and 15 of his besties are going to get treated to a home game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium- a fan first, world-class experience - for a Falcon's game, and they'll all have tickets in a private suite!RBM of Alpharetta is going all out with food and beverage inside the suite for the kiddos, so they never have to miss a play. And of course, we know our good pal Freddie Falcon loves Bert's Big Adventure…he's sure to swing by for some photo ops! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
