When the internet came along, many industries changed forever, and one of them was the auction business. Remember how exciting eBay was when everything was up for bid? Traditional auction houses had to move quickly to adapt, and the opportunities of moving from a local to a regional or national or international market through the internet were immense. One auction firm which has made a wildly successful transition is Leland Little in Hillsborough NC, and we'll talk inside their Modernist warehouse with Modernist director Luke Newbold. Later, it's architect, professor, attorney, and former first lady of Hartford CT, Sara Bronin, chair of the US Advisory Council for Historic Preservation, plus musical guest Roslyn Kind.

Honored to present my magnificent, talented, and beautiful guest today, Roslyn Kind, talking about her latest album, “The Look of Love/The Island.” This is an outstanding array of songs originally recorded by some of music's greatest talents, presented by Roslyn, who says her mission is to uplift people with her music, and she does just that. In fact, when I listen to her, I get lost. Roslyn has been an actress, singer, songwriter and public figure since she was a young girl, having appeared in a variety of genres from Broadway to The Ed Sullivan Show, The Nanny (loved her on that), films such as “Switched at Birth,” and the list goes on. YES, her older sister is Barbra Streisand, and you can hear the similarities in Roslyn's voice and see the resemblance in her face. Theresa much to talk about, including her sincere interest in LOVE and spreading that message through her work. Life is short, she says, why not spread love instead of hate. Why not? We'll also talk about growing up in NY and her early influences and interests. I'm thrilled to be speaking with Roslyn, so thank you for joining us, and please share with your friends. I reached out to Roslyn Kind to uplift and inspire. I knew she'd deliver, but at the time I didn't know it'd be personal. I came into the conversation feeling weary and listless. Within minutes my energy and mood soared. What a positive, focused, bundle of joy, this gorgeous, talented, dynamo is. Committed to her calling, as was revealed to her in a past life regression, Rozzie heals with her stunning voice, and her loving, kind, compassionate words. Yes, we talked about her sister Barbara Streisand, their brother and mother, her nephew Jason Gould, Elliot Gould, her first album, cut as she was removing her high school graduation gown, her game-changing performance on Ed Sullivan, appearing on Broadway, and TV, her great work on The Nanny! But, we focused on her humanity, how's she's coping in this crazy world, politically, pandemically, nutritionally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Filled with hope, and committed to making a difference, Rozzie's steadfast diligence and discipline for her own well-being make her quest to better the world seem… doable. She does it with her music––her cover of Laura Nyro's Save The Country is a timely, sexy, urgent, call to action. https://bit.ly/3gU4aas, and by walking her talk, in ways big and small. On the world stage, and one to one. Since the broadcast, I've been bombarded with messages and emails of stories of Rozzie's thoughtfulness. Random acts of kindness that no one else sees, which earn her nothing, except, a ticket to heaven, which she maintains can be right here on earth if we'd just love each other. I love Rozzie. And, thanks to her fine example, I'm feeling more loving towards everyone. Except the idiot, and Putin, on that, we agree. Rozzie is Brooklyn's best chicken soup for the pandemic weary battered soul––warm, tasty, and guaranteed to make you feel better. Help yourself to an earful. What fun and gorgeousness! Time flew with two-time Emmy-nominated actress, Lee Purcell, and, world's collided all over the place. It is a small world, after all. From her runway days at three (I know!), Native American ancestry, multi-generational military mantle, to dancing, singing, regional TVing', Lee went on to best 500 hopefuls, handpicked by Steve McQueen hisself (who mentored Lee in all things life, career & fitness––sweet surprise story there), to co-star with Kirk's son, fairly green, Michael Douglas. Lee later co-starred with Kirk, and they're not her only father/son dynasty co-stars. Not a bad place to start. Follow that teaming with Orson Welles, earning an Emmy nomination alongside Mark Harmon, and then another co-starring with Beau Bridges, and father Lloyd. In fact, Lee had lots of Bridges. Hysterical. Old friends with Jeff and his later girlfriend, Candy Clark, well, there are stories then and now, there, too. There's Malcolm McDowell, Chadwick Bostwick, Jon Voight, a brand spanking new, Nicolas Cage, in Valley Girl (his first feature film), and that's barely scratching the Lee Hollywood leading men, surface. The most guest-starring roles on Murder She Wrote, and loads of other TV appearances, cross-genres. We talked fabulous friends, Donny Most, Anson Williams, Geri Jewell, Roslyn Kind, Joey Travolta, and his important inclusion film, Carol of the Bells, and the wondrous Donna Pescow––how we connected, and how those soul sisters found each other and just knew. What a delightful, easy, breezy sit down with this stunning, age-defying beauty, who managed to manifest her dreams and continues to do so. Looking forward to her upcoming, Chocolate Is Not Better Than Sex. You're telling me. What can you say about a down to earth awesome singer/ star in her own right other than..One of a kind!! Live From The Bay with Joey travels to interview Roslyn Kind. The sister of aclaimed Star Barbra Streisand is no coincidence, and like Roslyn states..similarities are God given in our gene pool. One of the many things that struck me of this star was her humility. With no pretention in the least, her humility and desire to want to heal people is most evident in all her work, whether live or recorded. Take for instance her single "Save the Country", which is so appropriate for this timeframe we live in now. Her credits are so numerous, Touring with her sister Barbra Streisand, during an 8 city US/Canadian tour and a 6 city International tour, which brought her to acclaimed venues including the Hollywood Bowl, The 02 Arena in London and Rogers Arena in Vancouver. In addition to performing historic duets with her sister, Ms. Kind shared the stage with her nephew Jason Gould and famed trumpeteer Chris Botti. My guest is not only an excellent singer, actress and songwriter, but she's also happy to be the sister of the legendary Barbra Streisand. We talk about her relationship with her sister, how she's always been successful keeping her career on the path she chose (regardless of Barbra's fame), how she's dealt with any difficulties she's had in her career, and the importance of her charity work.
Roslyn Kind is a revelation. This showbiz talk show was easy on the biz, and the show. Spirituality, unconditional love, self-love, inclusion, past life regression, visitations, meditation, familial love, uniting, healing, living life’s calling, going with the flow, and, saving the country were in heavy rotation. Of course we talked about the music––and that voice! Oh lord that voice! Ed Sullivan and her first album at 18… Broadway. Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, sister Barbra Streisand, nephew Jason Gould, the three of them singing and touring together; brother-in-law Elliot Gould, her talented and tough mama, her brother, niece and other nephew, the grands… for Rozzie, family is paramount. People are paramount. As if to illustrate the point, she brought along her close friend, David Zimmerman, who filled in some blanks, and finished a few sentences. Their familiarity and comfort with each other was sweetly adorable. We talked about a past life, her transformative meditation practice (https://bit.ly/2CWIqYd) her current single, the Laura Nyro classic, Save the Country, (must see video here: https://bit.ly/2VjL5Cm get it here : https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/roslynkind3) as much about the message as the music. We talked fun stuff… Dark Shadows, Ebinger’s blackout cake, hot dogs, pizza and Chinese food, none of which she allows herself any more… learning to sing harmony thanks to Barbra and Row, Row, Row Your Boat, Yiddish, and finding her way in music, and in life. Rozzie’s yellow hazel eyes are stunning and mesmerizing. I apologize for monopolizing them, she’s a connector and goes soul to soul with every word. And please call her Rozzie. Barbra coined it when she was a little girl, and she’d like to use it and have it stick. Singer and entertainer for sure, she’s all that and a behemoth bag of Cheetos, although she’d eat nary a one. After the show we chatted almost as long as we did on air. I loved every second with this brilliantly talented, spiritual, empathic, healer. Here’s to more… much much more, Rozzie. Thanks Anson Williams for encouraging me, Harlan B Harlan Boll for connecting me and Pete and David for sharing the joy. ROSLYN KIND and I finish the conversation we started, and it only gets better as it goes along. Rozzie shares from her heart about how her positive attitude and spirituality guided her path through the ups and downs. She recalls her songwriting experience in the eighties when she collaborated on a song called "Light Of Love" and tells a quick fun story about it. But most of the episode is the two of us forming, as Rozzie put it, a camaraderie. She finishes strong by imparting some of her wisdom for other artists to gain confidence. Once again, Roslyn Kind's song "Save The Country" is featured.. More info at RoslynKind.com
